A soul tie can either set you free or hold you back.
When it comes to soul ties, Kaylee Martin has spent the last eight years of her life stuck in one. When the man she’s given her entire life to hits it big in the music industry, Kay finds herself being left behind as he explores the world of money and fame without her. Even with all the signs pointing toward the exit, Kay struggles to let go of the only love she’s ever known.
Successful businessman Amijay “Blue” Willis has it all, including money to spend and women to blow through. His only downfall tends to be mixing business and pleasure. With the constant nagging of his older brother, Blue tries his hardest to separate business and his personal life for good.
When Kay and Blue are constantly thrown into each other's space, they can't deny their growing attraction for each other. Will Blue be able to wedge himself in between this soul tie? Or will the strings connecting Kay to another prove to be too strong?

This was a quick read and it was full of romance and swoon worthy moments. I even enjoyed the moments of hesitation that Kay had because it was understandable to me. Blue is the real deal giving Book Bae energy. I loved everything about him. I throughly enjoyed this read.
I am happy a FB group friend suggested this book. It was a nicely told story about a couple who'd been together for years until the guy became a famous artist. And then he started cheating on his girl like everything was cool. But, baby! That's not all that happens. The girl finds a new guy and old guy wants her back. The short relationship felt completely solid, more so than her previous relationship. I won't spoil anything.... But! You need to read this one. My first read by this author, it won't my the last one. 4.5 stars...
Female doormat story. The men she chose to deal with all mess over her in one way or another but for some reason she feeling indebted to them. The chemistry between the two MCs is not there. The flow of the story is choppy so there is always a feeling that you missed something. All of the characters are flat.
Soul Tie: An emotional and spiritual connection between two people 🔗
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kay and Money have been together forever. So when he makes it as a big time rapper she’s stunned that’s he’s paying her dust and acting like she doesn’t exist. Because in her eyes they are soulmates and are going to be together forever. But after being embarrassed one too many times Kay finally reaches her breaking point and leaves Moneys raggedy tail.
This is when Blue enters the chat. He meets Kay and is smitten by her. My man was ready to change all his player ways… but my girl Kay is still stuck on Money 😒🙄. Not to mention Money and Blue are connected. Look, I was yelling at this girl to stop being weak in the knees and to stand up. Not gone lie Kay had me a lil nervous. But Blue wasn’t backing down.
That soul tie between Kay and Money was stronger. But Blue was stronger 😝
“This shit forever, baby. Ain’t no breaking up.”-Blue 💙
This is a quick read but not short on love, drama or sex. We definitely need a follow up on Marli and Dru.
My goodness I haven’t wanted to strangle a female MC as much as I wanted to do Kay in a very long time. The way she let Ja play in her face was crazy. What’s sad is there are a lot of woman that let a man get a crazy hold on them. I’m sure I’ve done my share of stupidity over the opposite sex but this was next level. So glad she was able to rid herself of the hold he had on her; unfortunately it required his permission. Blue was super patient with Kay even when he did not want to be. That s how I know she was different to him. Because truth be told, before Kay, blue was a fuckboy in a different way but a fuckboy nonetheless. Kay was able to bring out something in him that never shone.
I can tell Dru is something else but Marli may have gotten under his skin. Definitely want to dive in further with them.
And it actually seem like Ja may change. Hope he’s better to the next woman than he was to Kay because he was all kinds of disrespectful and out his damn mind with a lot of unmitigated gall how he did Kay dirty over EIGHT years
This was so delicious to read from beginning to end!!! I absolutely loved Blue ! His willingness to love Kaylee through her grief of losing her relationship just made me swoon! A.Blossom is a great writer who knows to keep you engaged and feel for these characters. I can’t wait to see what else is up her sleeve!!
I just love how Blue and Kay’s relationship transformed! Blue was exactly what she needed to help her move on from her toxic relationship with Money. He took his time with her and was patient, providing her the safe space that she needed to heal properly!
3.5/5 I’m conflicted on this one and need to sit with my thoughts.
- My favorite thing about this book was the MMC Blue. Blue is definitely a book bae. He was caring, attentive, all about her and loving her out loud. 🥵🥰 - My least favorite thing was the FMC Kay. Sweet Jesus this girl worked my nerves so bad that I almost DNF’d this book. I’m not a fan of weak FMCs. Your ex hid you from the public, burned you, cheated on you repeatedly but bc of “history” you still feel tied to him. Please stop making these FMC’s willfully obtuse. I get it, he was her first everything. But my God, not even getting the clap would make you say it’s the last straw. Her back and forth with her feelings for her ex PMO. - This book should have been longer bc I feel like it was rushed.
Ms. A. Blossom, you are a new author to me and this book did not disappoint. I was fully invested in this love triangle. Blue was assertive and aggressive enough to win the heart of Kay. Kay deserved a man who truly loved her. Jashaun was playing little boy games while Blue man up to get his woman. Jashaun honestly thought he was going to "play" the field and then swoop back in with Kay. He was highly mistaken because although they had a strong "soul tie" he couldn't just play with her emotions and heart like she was a rag doll. Blue put actions behind his words by putting a ring on it. He made sure Kay knew she wasn't a toy that sat on a shelf until someone pulled it off. Blue was enamored by Kay, he loved her voluptuous figure and didn't mind having her on his arm. He did not let fame and a few coins make him hide the woman he was falling in love with. Although Money and Kay had a powerful soul tie Blue broke through it with consistency and perseverance. In my opinion, the best man won, because Kay got her happily ever after. He was her biggest supporter while she finished her degree in architecture. Kay may have built Jashaun before he became a "famous" rapper however Blue made sure to be Kay's foundation so she could fulfill her dreams.
Ms. A. Blossom, you are on my radar now, I am looking forward to future releases. I am lowkey hoping that there is a book in the works for Marli, Dru, and Max. I would love to read and witness how their story pans out. It is ironic because Dru stayed on Blue about his affairs but look who is caught up in a web now. Ladies and gents, it's a new author in the literary world and you should check her out. This read is 🔥 and you will be highly engaged.
4.5 stars I absolutely loved this book. It was a completely different take on a soul tie. The last line of the book sums it up, "this all began when I got between a soul tie." Kay and Money had a soul tie but they weren't the HEA couple. Blue is the 🥷🏾 that got between their soul tie and got a Happily Ever After with K.
K is an architect student. Money is a famous rapper but lets just call him Stupid. Blue is part owner of the record label that Stupid is signed to. K was a good girl but Stupid was some trash and a cheater. Stupid got famous and didn't appreciate his soul tie so Stupid ended up leaving waaaay too much room for the next negro. Enter Blue. Blue started applying pressure to K and it was all over. Stupid was butt hurt. 😒
I liked how K and Blue got together. Usually you see that with drunken nights but not completely sober. I loved how Blue knew K was it for him and loved her through the craziness with her ex and valued their relationship enough to wait for her. Such a great love story. ❤️ I really believed in their love despite how quick and unconventionally they came together.
I can't tell you the last time I've read a book in one sitting....This was slight work! (3.5/50 Between a Soul Tie had me in stitches from laughing so much picturing these characters in my city..however this isn't a comedy. Blue was dead serious about making Kay his and he never let up even when it seemed like he did.
Just know that one man's trash is another man's treasure and when he picks her up, he's not putting her back down. Blue knew he wanted Kay from the moment he saw her and he walked a fine like of applying pressure without pushing her to choose him. He was willing to put his name on it and that meant a lot to a woman who was never publicly claimed.
Kay was a dope character to me... going to school for architect, loyal as they come with a heart of gold. I hope we get to see a little more of her in Marli and Dru's story and that she becomes the voice of reason for them. Because clearly they will need it with their messy storyline lol.
Holy wow!!! This book had my nerves bad. Talk about the ties that bind. Kaylee just broke up with her long term boyfriend but she is still keeping hope alive that he will come back for her! 🙄 She mets Blue but is reluctant to engage with him because she’s a tad bit heartbroken. Blue just won’t be dismissed though. He sees Kay’s worth and he makes it his mission to show her and for her to see her worth.
This book is about misplaced loyalty. Kay helped her ex become successful and when he achieved his goal, he left her behind. She was blocking her blessings by holding on to something that was draining her. Blue poured in to Kay. She wasn’t used to a man who gave and just didn’t take. I was so happy when she got her mind right. I was so perturbed with her but I gave her a pass. She just needed to release herself from her ties with her past so that she could accept who was her present and future!
I love the title, and once you read their story, you'll understand why. This book holds your attention from the first page to the very last. There are three main characters. I don't want to give anything away. I would highly recommend this book. Good for you, Blue. Blue is a good man. He never hesitated in his devotion to Kay. I'm proud of Kay. I know it wasn't easy, and she deserves to be loved. Your loss, Money. What a pleasure reading this book 🥰.
I loved the connection between Kay and Blue. I think the real soul tie was between Blue and Kay as I read the book. What Kay and Money wasn’t a soul tie. They were together for so long Kay was just afraid of change and Money just felt he could do as he pleased and Kay would take it. I didn’t even feel connection between Money and Kay at all.
This book had me at go! I am glad we met Kay when enough was enough. We got to see her glow up while still realistically harboring feelings for her 1st love. Blue was the perfect man to help her heal yet patiently wait for her to fully let go of her ex. I can’t wait for the next release💜
The drama was top tier! At certain points I had to break out in song because “I’m on an emotional rollercoaster”. Money had the pure audacity, cuz boy kick mf rocks lol.
Is there a such thing as being between soil toes.. well Blossom made me a believer. I ate this book up in one sitting. We meet Kay a girl who in my book is a rider she riding for her now super star rapper boyfriend who let all that fame get to him and he just turned out to be pure doo doo. Broken hearted after giving yourself to one man for 8 years she decides to leave him. Yessss thank you god! While at home she crosses paths with fine ass Blue, but Ms. Kay ain’t over her ex. She feels that’s her soul mate. Well Mr Blue feels his own soul ties when he meets Kay. Blue makes her a believer. There’s alot packed on this book from the spice , drama and love. My first book by this author and I hope she drops something on them side characters cause honey there some drama brewing there that had me cackling! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story had me hot in the collar from the beginning to the end. I will never understand how we as women put our all into a man that's just so selfish and turn around and he becomes successful and share that success with someone else.
He had the nerves to brag about him doing him and Kay would be waiting for him. He even talked about no one would want her because her he size.
Well size meant nothing to a real man that wanted her when he first laid eyes in her.
I'm happy took a chance and got with a real man, but that didn't stop the drama from their happy ending.
4.25⭐️/5- I knew this was going to be messy but I didn’t know how messy. I truly enjoyed this and all the drama. At one point I was like yes this is definitely fiction because people are not acting in this way. But then I said that’s what’s great about these stories. The author can make whatever happen and as a reader it’s my job to enjoy it.
Amijay “Blue” Willis was something else. It seemed like he couldn’t handle business without getting into something -literally. But once he say Kay he knew something was different. I loved that this is another example how a man knows what he wants and it doesn’t take years to say so. Blue was that guy and I loved him.
Kaylee “Kay” Martin was a woman who loved hard and made some crazy choices and many sacrifices for the one she said loved. It a shame that he didn’t love her in the same way. To be in the presence of Blue showed her how she should have been treated. She cared too much how the ex thought and not enough about herself.
Kay stressed me out. She really did. But I get it. The conversation Ma Yvette had with her was solid. Many times we as women love what’s familiar and scared to let go. This was a great representation of just that. I’m glad that she found love in Blue and I’m glad he matured in relationships. I over these two. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Kaylee holds her man down through thick and thin only to get paid dust when he makes it big. Attempting to move on, she unexpectedly connects with Amiyah aka “Blue”and sparks fly for the both of them. Blue is ready to lock shit down from the beginning and I absolutely loved it! He wanted to eat and Kay was on the menu. Unfortunately, Kay is dick riding the fence and it immediately pissed me off. Her indecisiveness and worry about her ex had me HOT!!! Like baby GET A CLUE!Like how you tripping off what’s behind you and you got “Boss Vibes” in front of you. Make it make sense? You really don’t know what you got until it’s gone and this book is a testament on how “soul ties” can keep you stagnant and missing out on life’s blessing. This book isn’t free of drama! The situation hit a little close to home but oh well, it is what it is LOL!! This is a fast paced book! I wish there were more pages to further develop the story, characters and relationship. There was so much talk about what she didn’t receive from her ex, I feel princess treatment with her man being obsessed with her on page would’ve given more balance. Also, two pivotal conversations were not on page and I think they were needed to feel a sense of resolution. However, it was still enjoyable. Overall, this was a strong addition to the catalogue and I will definitely keep looking out for more from this author.
I loved this story. To me, it was the embodiment of what a soul tie really looks like. There were times I wanted to shake Kaylee and tell her to snap out of it, but that’s what made it believable. The author captured the reality of forming a soul tie—especially at a young age, with your first love, your first everything. We’ve all seen, known, or even been someone like Kaylee. As readers, we want the female main character to be strong and walk away from mistreatment, but the truth is, when you have a soul tie, it isn’t that simple. You can recognize it’s not right, you can know you deserve better, and still feel completely bound to that person. This book portrayed that truth in a raw and relatable way.
What I loved most was how Blue came in and planted seeds of love and adoration. He followed his heart, and I loved that for Kaylee. Months of solitude couldn’t break her tie, but just a few days or weeks of someone pouring genuine love into her gave her the strength to finally let go. That was beautiful to witness. And honestly, I don’t care if someone calls that unrealistic—love isn’t always measured by time, but by the seeds that are planted. You will know a tree by its fruit, right?
Overall, this was such a solid read. The title, the plot, the theme—it all fit perfectly. I truly enjoyed it, and I definitely recommend it.
This was my first read by this author and I was not disappointed. This story was so messy but it was so good. I was happy to see Blue wedge himself between the soul tie of Kay and Money cause their relationship was dumb. Money was a classic f boy who treated his girl bad and then tried to get in his feelings and cause problems once she moved on and I didn’t like him for that reason. I kept thinking sir you fumbled her heart now deal with the aftermath. I loved Kay and Blue together. Their chemistry was felt off the page and I just wanted to see them reach their happily ever after. I loved how Blue treated Kay and that he recognized the areas he needed to lift her up so she could get her confidence back. He gave her so much grace and space when dealing with Money and it made me adore him even more. This man Blue was determined to get and keep his woman and recognized that Kay was different at first sight and I loved that he acted like it in how he moved and treated her. This was a great book that I would recommend and I’m hoping we get a book about twin sister Marli.
i really getting annoyed with the typos and grammatical errors i keep running into, but… i digress, because it was a quick read. it also seemed like kay was a little dusty, with the attire she had on every time she and blue interacted. poor thang was out property shopping in vegas with pajamas on still. i just cannot (triggered) and omfg— can he call her something other than beautiful? but to be completely honest, i’m not against marriages happening so quickly. lol i feel like time means nothing and if you’re feeling it, go for it. BUT, kay… honey. you were just a little too quick to give the marriage over homeboy. i get the whole “first with everything” bit, but cmon now. THAT was a bit much to me. ms. yvette came through with the facts about them two. like girl, let it gooooo. i actually really enjoyed blue though. he was about whatever he wanted. didn’t sugarcoat shit and a fighter/protector. whew. although, parts of me felt like some of this book was kinda corny (it was mostly kay— sumn about her), lol it was an okay read.

Blue was a wonderful MMC! Kay was an okay FMC. I understand about being confused and conflicted, but once you marry someone, the decision is made, and you need to conduct yourself accordingly. Too many times, Kay acted immature in her journey. There's a difference in being shy, reserved, and stuck and afraid to grow. Blue was patient and ready for a grown relationship. Kay just kept needing someone to save her....and it was tiresome. She couldn't even ever truly articulate herself consistently 😪. She was exhausting. She owed Blue more loyalty and respect than she showed him, her HUSBAND. Kay at least owed Blue a conversation about being at Money's Mama's house. Especially like the blogs wouldn't have reported on that?!!!! The ending was too rushed for so much to have occurred. For Blue, this is a good read because we all love good BDE characters. Would love to have a Dru and Marli story. This was a good read 📚 👍🏾 ❣️
