Thank you so much to the Wildfire Marketing Solutions team and S.E. Rose for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC 🥰.
"The Billionaire and the Maid" is a very cute Rom-Com with Cinderella vibes, a very fun and quick read.
I liked it a lot more than I expected, I started the book almost 1 month ago, I only read the first chapter and at that time I wasn't in the mood so I put it aside, but yesterday I picked it up again and there was no way I could put it down, I read it all practically in the same day and I enjoyed it a lot.
I loved Chase as MMC, although throughout the book his playboy reputation is mentioned there wasn't a single moment where I really felt he was a playboy, quite the opposite, Chase is a gentleman and treats Ella like a princess. I loved how he protected her in front of her family and Ella's stepmother (I think Nancy was one of the worst characters I've ever read in a book, you have to have a lot of nerve to be such a bad person).
Ella is like a ray of sunshine, a character who works very hard to be able to finish her studies as a graphic designer and the relationship she has with Chase is perfect.
It all happens quite quickly, but it didn't feel rushed at all and I loved the touch of them knowing each other as children.
Overall it was a very enjoyable and funny read, I highly recommend it if you're looking for a Rom-Com that will make you laugh.
This was a meet-cute with a Cinderella retelling. I did tear up a little. Chase and Ellas story was adorable. The chemistry was great and it was well written
So this is love, and this is what makes reading, divine. S E Rose brings the classic rom-com love with the maid and her billionaire 'prince' - The British Bibliophile

The Billionaire and the Maid is book two in S E Rose’s Once Upon a Billionaire Rom-Com series. A series which kicked things off with book one, The Billionaire and the Librarian , a Beauty and the Beast-esque re-telling with a determined librarian confronting the most reclusive, growly and brusque of billionaire beasts.
Book one really set the premise for the series and it’s nod to the classic fairytale stories we know and love. It earned a very well-respected four stars from me. Now it’s time to see if book two can equal or better that. Based on the title alone it seems that this time around, book two will be something based around the aspect of Cinderella and her maid-like role. Let’s see how S E Rose adapts this classic fairytale to factor in one broody, brusque and brutish billionaire.
Ella is a small-town girl who is doing her best to live her dream under not the most ideal of circumstances. Chase is a playboy billionaire who by his own set of unideal circumstances, needs a fake girlfriend. When their two paths meet and a holiday gala approaches, things are about to get a whole new kind of complicated.
Taking a job as a maid to a billionaire family, Ellie is having to work for her real goal. She wants to finish her degree and start her own design firm and that hasn’t been an easy thing to achieve, especially after the death of her father and unlike her step-sisters (there’s the other Cinderella element), she has to work hard for what she wants and to make all of her dreams come true. Those dreams are even harder to achieve when one day while cleaning, she breaks a priceless vase. Uh-oh. How ever will she pay for that? Stay tuned to find out.
Chase thanks to his upbringing and status, has never had to ever want for anything. Whatever he’s wanted to or have, it’s made to happen and is at his fingertips immediately. The world most-likely sees him as the playboy grandson of a world-renowned shoe designer, but that’s not just who he is. Like Ella, he wants to explore his own dreams and those involve designing. He’s working to make his dreams a reality when one day, his father gives him an ultimatum. Settle down with a girlfriend, or lose his birthright as CEO of the family company, all within four weeks.
Upon walking in on Ella and the cracked vas, Chase seizes upon the opportunity to quite possibly turn his unideal circumstance around for the better. At least enough to get him out of the sticky situation and into a place where he has more control. He asks her to be his girlfriend for a whole month and in exchange? He’ll hide the fact that she broke his mother’s vase. Seeing no other option, Ella reluctantly agrees to his offer. But at what cost?
Determined to keep her own dreams firmly on-track and not smashed to smithereens, Ella is buckling up for a month with the annoying Chase Marino. Expecting to find him a certain way thanks to the reputation that proceeds him, she’s surprised to find more to him than what the whispers have all been saying. It seems that there is more to this man that’s prince-like, rather than rogue rake. Lines blur and are crossed as above all, both try to keep feelings out of a purely business arrangement. This is hard to do when for some reason, Ella seems more familiar to him than her just being the family’s maid.
Ella and Chase’s story was pure entertainment from start to finish. It embodies all that we readers love about the boss and employee romance trope, while adding in a heap of comedy and ‘something extra’, to boot. They got up to plenty together during the course of their charade and of course, when those lines blurred we were treated to a whole new side to their relationship. A new Ella and Chase, if you will, that were very much like a version of themselves they once knew. All of that will become clear to you when you read their story for yourself.
Where at times I felt like the story veered off and turned up something completely random, I was nonetheless entertained by the directions taken. Things aren’t all as they seem and are certainly not as simple as first made out, so it was interesting to see how S E would navigate us round these revelations and how they came to be. She’s brilliant at creating a subtle mystery and then guiding us through her thought process using the characters to literally tell the story. I’ve come to love how she tells a story and I’ve so far been invested in both times I have read her work.
This story definitely leans more on the comedy side than romantic, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I love a book that can make me laugh as much as one can make me swoon or melt, and this book gave me everything I love about a good old rom-com. Based on a classic fairytale? Check. Just the right amount of romance? Check. Good story-telling, plot and characters? Check, check and check. S E Rose keeps ticking all the right boxes and I have a feeling that she’ll continue to do so and draw me into reading the books that have been planned for this series at this moment in time.
Though like its predecessor, it didn’t end on how I would personally like a romance novel to end (with what I call a more ‘rounded off’ ending), in the three days I spend leisurely reading all about Ella and Chase, the result was well worth taking a risk in continuing the series. In a book world heavily-dominated by the billionaire romance genre, this is a pleasant addition to which I would recommend to lovers of both romance and comedy genres with intriguing tropes woven in.
Like the first instalment in this series, I’m very happy and proud to give this four strong stars.
This sweet and incredible twist on Cinderella is one such a heartfelt story I devoured it in a day. Ella is a maid working hard so she can finish her degree and follow her dreams. Chase is grumpy trying to prove his worth so he can become the CEO of his families company, but in order to do so he has to show he has done with his playboy ways and needs a serious girlfriend. These two get entangled in a fake relationship that starts to turn to more, but the past and current pains haunt them. Will Chase realize that Ella is the one for him or will he’s hunt to prove himself to his father come first? Such a cute and amazing story full of emotions and oh the steam. These stories have been such a delight to read and I can’t wait for more!!!
Think of your favorite classic princess story, replace the prince for a billionaire, and modernize them. That’s exactly what S.E. Rose did and I enjoyed it.
I got this as an ARC and I have a soft spot for Lorenzo.
Ella, a maid, makes a mistake one day, witnessed by Chase who decides blackmail is the best way to get what he wants.
Chase, the potential next CEO of his family’s company, needs to “look steady” which results in a fake dating scheme with Ella, the maid.
I loved finding how they knew each other in a past life. Lorenzo and Greta were the best old people, that we all need in our lives.
The Billionaire and the Maid is the second book in the Once Upon a Billionaire Rom-Com series by S.E. Rose. This was a meet-cute story with Billionaire Chase and Maid Elsa, has a modern-day Cinderella story-line.
I was engaged from the first page to the last, the banter was fun and the chemistry between the two was nice and easy to read. I enjoyed this read and loved the secondary characters throughout.
Well, I liked this book to pass the time, it's more than good.
It is like a retelling of Cinderella but modern and without a wicked stepmother (it has one but not as marked as in the real story), the story goes by quickly, it has a drama that seemed a little unnecessary and forced to me if I am completely honest, but I liked the mystery of the shoe, I liked it, I found it interesting and original to all the retellings of this story that I have read.
Chase and Ella's relationship is beautiful, Chase treats her so kindly even though she has her restrictions on him, the fake relationship they started had everything I like.
As I said, it was a good read to pass the time, it also has that Christmas touch since it is set in December.
Thanks to the author & Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

The first book in the series was such a cute read and I’m happy to go back to this series. “The Billionaire and the Maid” is a fun, sweet and heartfelt fake dating romance that gave me all the Cinderella vibes as I read Chase and Ella’s story.
Ella Foster is a graphic design student who is working as a maid to help pay her bills until she graduates and can start her own company. Chase Marino works for his family company and has been working towards being the next CEO. When his father wants him to quit his playboy ways and settle down, Chase realizes he needs a fake girlfriend so he can be CEO. And when he sees Ella accidently break a priceless vase, he offers to replace it with a replica if she pretends to be his girlfriend.
This book was so cute and I enjoyed reading Ella and Chase’s story. The plot has a Cinderella vibe which I was expecting but enjoyed. Ella is sweet, genuine, and someone anyone could be friends with. She works hard to pay her bills and put herself through school. Especially since her parents have passed away. Her friend Greta was great and is her fairy godmother in this story. Chase is a good guy, and you can tell he loves his family and the legacy that they built. His passion for this career shines through but he’s not a workaholic, just driven. Chase and Ella started out as strangers, became friends and naturally became more. Their relationship was sweet and steamy. And I loved the connection that they had, it made their story even cuter. The last few chapters were great and I loved their HEA.
What a cute story this was having that Cinderella theme to it not only does Ella have not only a stepmom but, also two step-sisters as well. Ella has been striving to make her dreams come true as a graphic designer.
Chase is a character striving to be a CEO but, there are stipulations put upon him for him to succeed find a woman, and settle down.
This was a really funny rom-com with great friendships, laughter, swoon-worthy characters, and where the boss and employee lines become blurred.
This story had the perfect mix of everything great characters, a plot that was engaging, characters that made us laugh, and really great chemistry. When the lines become blurred you start to see changes to both Chase and Ella characters which we loved.
We loved the fake relationship turns real plot it was engaging and fun and we found ourselves giggling throughout the story. Also, it was a perfect read after such a stressful day to get lost in as it was so much fun with a cast of wonderful characters. We also loved the Cinderella theme and that Ella played the part which surprised us with how much we really enjoyed the story as we normally stay away from those kinds of themed books but, glad we changed our minds and gave this one a try the author did not disappoint because we absolutely loved it.
This author is new to us but, we can see ourselves diving into future reads. This story is over and we are still smiling. Grinning...
I recently read The Billionaire and the Maid, and I must say, it was a truly enjoyable experience. This well-crafted story combines elements of romance, suspense, and mystery, making it a captivating read from start to finish.
The main characters, Billionaire Henry and Maid Elsa, are well-developed and relatable. Their journey together is filled with ups and downs, making their relationship dynamic interesting and authentic.
The story revolves around Henry's quest to find a missing heirloom, which leads him to hire Elsa as a maid. The plot is filled with twists and turns, keeping the reader engaged and guessing until the very end.
The story is filled with suspenseful moments, particularly when Elsa finds herself in danger. These scenes are well-written and serve to heighten the tension, keeping the reader on edge throughout the story.
Despite the suspenseful elements, there are moments of tender romance between Henry and Elsa. These scenes are beautifully written and serve to strengthen the bond between the two characters.
In conclusion, The Billionaire and the Maid is a delightful tale that combines elements of romance, suspense, and mystery. With engaging characters, an intriguing plot, and heartwarming romance, this book is sure to please fans of the genre. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a captivating read.
I love any version of Beauty and the Beast but after this read Cinderella is close on her heels ! I loved every moment of getting lost in Chase and Ella 🥰
So Ella’s working as a maid to pay her studies , she dreams of being a designer and when she accidentally breaks an expensive vase at the Marino residence the very delectable Chase comes up with an idea , kill 3 birds with one stone , he replaces the vase and she pretends to be his arm candy .
Chase is next in line as CEO of Marino shoes but the board is hesitant to appoint him because of his single status so Elle was a perfect solution to his problem ….
Chase and Elle may have started as fake but their connection actually goes back to their childhood and when they make the discovery things are a lot easier between them and very quickly fake becomes real but I ll tell you a secret I think it wax instant for the both of them 🥰
There are good people in their lives like Lorenzo ( his grandpa) Gus ( a client that became a friend ) Greta ( her friend , boss and “family “) and last but not least her pink Volkswagen Beetle “ Princess”
Honestly , there’s nothing not to love about this book but Nancy 🤮so go ahead spoil yourself and share in Elle and Chase’s journey to their their HEA 🥰

Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2024 In this story is about Chase and Ella. They meet because of an event at his house and they have made a deal. Become a fake relationship in order to prove to his parents that he is able to keep the family company in the family. They tell his family that she is his girlfriend As they get to know each other better, they learn that they were friends when they were younger and talk about their past times together. As time goes on and they grow together they learn that they are falling for each other. They have a Cinderella moment and things take a turn. This is a turn of events and they learn that they love and can’t live without each other. To prove this to Ella, Chase has to come clean to his family and they are very supportive of him and who he has become. Ella has learned that Chase did all these things for her to win her back. Its got spice and I would say it’s very spicy. It’s a great read and I could not put this book down. It was a quick read because it flowed so well together that before you know it the story is over. I highly recommend this book and you can read it as a stand alone. S.E Rose keeps you turning the pages and wanting to see what happens with Chase and Ella.
In The Billionaire and the Maid, S.E. Rose gives readers a modern-day Cinderella including two ugly stepsisters.
As the blurb states, Ella is a small-town girl that is quickly, and I mean quickly swept off of her feet by the handsome billionaire. Too bad it’s fake. In the ole I need a girlfriend to look stable routine, Chase blackmails Ella into being his fake girlfriend for a month or so. We all know how it’s going to turn out, so the fun was in the details.
I wasn’t a fan of Ella and I’m not sure why, but she rubbed me the wrong way. She was written immature for late twenties, and I didn’t like the stammering she constantly did. Chase was a little better, but not much. There wasn’t a lot of chemistry between these two, even in the moments it wasn’t fake.
The book read a little clunky to me, all over the place and I wasn’t a huge fan of the style (characters) so I will admit to some skimming. Lots of inner thoughts dragged the story down. I did like the little curve ball from their past and Chase’s grandpa. He was so sweet. The book reads as a standalone with a nice epilogue to wrap things up.
"Oh, for the love of God. This town is like six degrees of separation on steroids. "
Fricking unalive me now - Such a fun read I went in knowing this was a Cinder-type retelling and figured it would be a standard evil stepmother horrid step siblings prince saves the day It really wasn't
Yeah it had all that as backstory but I felt the spotlight was on Ella and Chase - Yes I realize it's their romance, lol, I meant not a lot of angst and battles and woe is me It was laughter, six degrees, and mmm mmm smexy Ella was so infectious. Her belief in herself. The way she found the golden lining in almost every situation And Chase was a knight in shining armor despite his tarnished reputation which IMO he didn't deserve
The characters and their BFFs were all a fantastical mix of quirky, caring, and magical The solid storyline kept me engaged from the first page to the last The shoe back story was unique I do have some inquiries though I have all kinds of questions for Nonno and Greta Very light angst- Ted the creep, Nancy the greedy A fun, cutesy romance- they fit so perfectly Blazing chemistry - holy hades A solid read
This is a really cute, fun, romcom book. This is a bit of a retelling from Cinderella. It’s book two in this billionaire series.
Chase needs a girlfriend to prove he’s serious to the board of the company his family owns so he can take over. Ella is just trying to get through the day cleaning one massive house at a time. He’s rich and she’s the maid. They should stick to their own lives but, it’s meant to be more.
Chase kinda/ sorta blackmails Ella into this fake relationship. But the more time they spend together the more they bond and find they have common interests. They might be opposites in most ways but they both have a past that brings them even closer. I loved Chase and his inner monologues while also couldn’t be more proud of Ella for following her dreams and even with adversities she’s going to finish her goals. They both had people in their corners pumping them up and I loved that. I enjoyed the side characters and feel like they made Ella stand out even more.
What a fun twist on a Cinderella story! Ella is a maid for a wealthy family just trying to make enough money to cover the tuition for her classes. Chase is a grumpy business man with his eye on becoming the next CEO of his family business. When his father informs him that the only way he will be taken seriously and not seen as a playboy giving the company a bad name is to settle down, he decides he needs a fake girlfriend. After spotting Ella he decides to approach her about the offer. Little do they realize but the two actually have a history together and before long they are both starting to see a new side to each other. Of course in true Cinderella fashion there is a rotten stepmother and some drama that causes Ella to leave unexpectedly. The writing was wonderful and I loved all of the supporting characters in Ella's life. There is definite chemistry between Chase and Ella and some hot steamy moments. The problem is that Ella's feelings are starting to feel real. Will the two get their happily ever after? Make sure to grab this ASAP to find out. - By Alisa
The Billionaire and the Maid is my 2nd read from SE Rose, and I love her books! This sweet and romantic read is a modern retelling of Cinderella. The story unfolds with Ella and Chase. Chase is the typical rich playboy, and Ella dreams of becoming a designer but needs the money to start her own business after her father's death. Her stepmother is of no use, so Ella is on her own. Chase finds himself in a bind, and after meeting Ella at a holiday gala, the sparks fly. Ella's clumsiness leads her to have to work off a broken vase, and Chase needs a fake girlfriend. Commense the fake relationship.
Ella is strong and feisty, and I love that about her. She's always looked out for herself and knows her dreams matter. Even though Chase is labeled a playboy, he is nothing but that. I found him to be very caring and endearing with Ella. Their romance was such a delight. I enjoyed the banter, the humor, and the romance blossoming throughout each page. I liked this one and will recommend it to sweet and fun romance lovers!
This is actually kind of a perfect retooling of Cinderella. Ella and Chase are both more than they seem. They have a shared experience and aren’t as fake as they want to believe. Add in some of the best friends possible, a grandfather who sees more than expected, and family that is miserable but could be better and some who should be destitute, and you’ve got a story you won’t want to put down.
I was almost afraid that Chase would break Ella’s heart, but I knew he wouldn’t. He couldn’t. After all, it sure looks like that would break his own also, and he definitely wants forever with her. When more secrets tumble forth and vengeance is to be had, Chase and his family are all in to deliver. When love is on the line, Ella and Chase get a little help in figuring things out, but the communication they have is all them. Even with the fears of failure, these two bring a truly enjoyable and realistic tale of finding love when you least expect it, and who could ask for more than that?
Ella Foster is working as a maid to pay for school, getting a degree in graphic design and wanting to start her own business after graduation. She's working at the Marino estate when she accidentally breaks a vase that is worth lots of money.
Chase Marino works for his family business and is hoping to take over as the CEO but his father has just put a stipulation to it, find a girlfriend and settle down.
Chase has to come up with a girlfriend quickly, so when he happens to witness Ella breaking the vase he comes up with the idea of a fake girlfriend and blackmailing Ella to do it. It's only for a month he tells her and he'll take care of replacing the vase.
This story is like Cinderella. We have the step-mom and sisters and things that happened to Ella in the past. She has great friends who help her and stand by her and a couple twists thrown in too. Cute story.
The Billionaire and the Maid is a wonderful read. I loved this one so much. If you like fake relationship with a dash of surprises then you will just love this Cinderella retelling. Ella is lovely. She is working hard to finish school and start her business. She has wonderful friends to turn to that do everything they can to protect her. Chase is wonderful. He is ready to take over the family company and it's time for his ideas be taken seriously. I love how Chase and Ella come together. They are amazing as the work through the fake and find what's real between them. This is a sweet read that will put a smile on your face and make you giggle here and there. I love chase and Ella so much. I could not put this down. I cannot wait for more of the Once Upon a Billionaire series to come. Go meet Ella and Chase today.
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Do you love the story of Cinderella? Well then you are going to love this book. Ella plays the role of Cinderella in this story, and we even have the prince who is Chase, who chases after his Cinderella with the glass slipper. There are also several fairy god mothers too and a matchmaking grandfather.
This was such a fun story and romance. Its low on drama and even has the two stepsisters and step mommy. No one was over the top or super mean, but they were awesome in this story, maybe a bit stuck up.
This is a fake relationship trope story with a bit of childhood friends thrown in the mix. I loved how that all came about, and I am not spoiling it.
This was a fun romance with a really awesome cast of characters and so romantic too!!
The Billionaire and the Maid is a wonderful twist on the old classic Cinderella. Ella and Chase have a history when they were children now years later Chase is a man from old money and in desperate need of a fake bride. Ella is a woman that has more than her fair share of heartache. She loses her mom and years later her father finally finds a new bride, she is excited for the idea of a new family that will include her stepmom and new sisters. When her father passes, she finally sees the true colors of her new family and she finds herself in a pickle. So, when she is approached by Chase with deal desperate times call for desperate measures. This little tale just gave me all the feels and then the wonderful connection that they shared was just the icing on the cake! Chase and Ella had wonderful chemistry, great banter, and where just fun to read!! ~~Michele McMullen~~
If you like fake relationship fun and love, this one is for you! All Ella wants is to finish school and start her life. All Chase needs is a fake girlfriend to get his father off of his back. Blackmail is the reason they are together. Will love be the reason they stay together? This is such a cute story that will have you cheering for Chase and Ella to work through their pasts and make it real!
The books in this series are standalones, but you just have to read book #1 as well if you have not already! S.E. Rose has a way of making you feel invested in these relationships! What an enjoyable read for a lazy day!
This is a modern day Cinderella retelling. It was a fun read that I couldn’t put down. Ella is working as maid while going to school to start her own business and Chase works for his family’s company to become the next CEO after his father steps down. Chase and Ella didn’t realize they knew each other when they were young until Ella called Chase “Ace” while they were horseback riding. These two fell hard and fast and I want more. So if you like fake dating and fairytale retellings, check this one out.
Cute little rom com read that gave me Cinderella vibes. This was book 2 in the series and let me say I’m loving this little town so much. Ella and Chase were perfect together and I loved that it wasn’t till after they agreed to the fake engagement pact that they realised they were long lost childhood friends separated by fate. This Fake engagement isn’t as fake as either one would like the other to believe. But the getting to that resolution was fun and endearing. I loved this feel good read... it was just what I needed.
I was given a complimentary copy but voluntarily chose to review
If at all possible the second book in the series is even cuter and funnier than the first, this fake date romance had all the right vibes to brighten your day. I adored Ella the student working hard to be able to have her own business one day, working as a maid isn't always easy and one little breakage sees Chase seize the opportunity to blackmail Ella into being his girlfriend, and the fun and growing connection between the pair really takes off, so settle back for some light from com fun. Once upon a time I read a great book that brought a smile to my face and a need for more.
The Billionaire and the Maid by SE Rose is book two in the Once Upon a Billionaire Rom-Com Series. This is the story of Chase Marino and Ella Foster. Ella is a student who is working as maid to get by until she graduates. Chase is a well off man hope to be the CEO for the family business. But he has a history of being a playboy. Chase is told that he has to clean up his image for that to happen. So when he sees Ella break something he steps forward with a deal for her. Enjoyed this fun book.
I love Chase and Ella! I was so pulled into their story that I devoured it and didn't want to put it down. I loved how they had an innocent, sweet past when they were kids. With that bit of history, they have a great connection, a good back and forth, spice, and the perfect amount of sweet! Their friends and family kept the story light, with lots of smiles! The story flowed, has great characters, and has me ready for the next book in the series!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
