It seemed so easy when he did it... I ended up in a well-oiled organisation and thought I would make money without much effort, but the problems are piling up. Danger lurks everywhere, and if she enters my warehouse, nothing will be the same anymore. ~ He is the walking embodiment of the seven sins. I despise men like him and will do everything to destroy them as they ruin many lives daily without hesitation. He won’t get away with it easily this time. At least, that was the intention...
I didn't enjoy John's story as much as the previous books, but I still think the author told a good story. I guess I'm just tired of the whole "girl hates guy before falling in love" trope. It was fun with Joan, okay with Nas and manageable with Jenny, but by the fifth book it started to feel repetitive. This was definitely my least favorite in the series, though I still enjoyed the writing overall. I'm hoping Book 6 goes in a different direction. I have a feeling Jade's boyfriend is somehow connected to one of Dex and Deacon's old enemies, but I'll have to keep reading to find out.
