This is the exact way this story needed to end because wow, it brought it all together. I was feeling the emotion on this one, as Maya finally got that middle of the night call – the crew was in a fire, some were some injured and on the way to the hospital. I loved how @FionaSilver wrote this one, with the angst and the pain between the guys, these comrades and best friends injured during a call, and then their individual relationships with Maya, with only one (Cory) being public and the others (Luke, Ethan and Diego) being private. There were lots of layers to this, and I loved watching Maya process all these and the feelings she had and how the group moved forward from here. Then the bonus was an epilogue two years in the future which I gobbled up instantly. I am sad to say goodbye to these five, but I am going to interested to see what @FionaSilver writes next because I enjoyed the build-up of this stories. I would have preferred it all together in one big book with a few more details and scenes in between to really flush it all out, but beggars won’t be choosers here.
I’m honestly so glad I decided to read this series since I’m not usually a series type of person but Fiona Silver definitely knows what’s she’s doing and how to write that’s for sure!!!! I’m actually sad it’s over!!!!
