I'm righting the wrong.

When we enter new territory, two things are clear. The Higher’s evil runs deep, and no one is safe.

As their secrets are revealed to the lands, the stakes are higher than ever before, and the pressure is on to get Runa out to stabilize my magic before it's too late.

With the help of Darius, we may just make it, but he has his own trauma that he carries.

We need to be one when we enter this battle, but can we forgive our past and move forward?

Or will we be held back by the pain of it?

With the Gods's words clinging to us like a cloak in the night, we work together to attack the threat and take back what was stolen.

The lands are defying, the wolves are out…

But at what cost?

The epic conclusion to Rhea and Darius.

Crazed rogures are being mass produced and raging over the lands. The Highers stealing power and using it for evil. People are dying and homes are being destroyed.

Rhea and Darius must learn to forgive and move on united as one. They are eachothers other half. Vihnarn.

"You are my moon, little wolf," he says softly. "I will always chase you to be within your light. "Then you are my darkness, I will always show you the way."

A perfect combination of romance and plot, the third book in The Hidden of Vrohkaria series is a little over 700 pages of a second chance at love, fated mates, spicy romance, and the journey on taking down a corrupt government, seeking revenge on those who hurt Rhea, and getting rid of the rogures.
It’s one hell of a journey to get to peace.
Rhea is a badass FMC. So strong and selfless when it comes to her family and people.

“I love you like the night loves the moonlight." "Then you are my darkness," she whispers. "And you are my light." And I will forever chase it.”

I love the growth of Darius’ character SO much. When he loves, he loves hard. And Darius and Rhea AND their wolves are literally end game. I’m so sad to say goodbye to this world.

Book Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

*inserts Jennifer Lawrence video of her saying “what do you mean” in her hot wings challange video* because WHAT THE ACTUAL FLIP DO YOU MEANNN..
I was extremely lucky to receive this as an ARC and my thoughts are honest and my own.

Okay alright. Class is in session besties buckle in because today’s session is going to be a lot. Topics of discussion are
1. What do mean my favourite series is finished?
2. Tell me why I almost busted open my stitches in my stomach after surgery while reading this book.
3. HOW COULD I POSSIBLY LOVE THIS BOOK, THESE CHARACTERS AND THIS SERIES WITH MY WHOLE GOD DAMN BEING….

I feel like crying already just by writing this. I can’t believe Darius and Rhea have come to and end. A very beautiful end by the way but an end nonetheless. If I could just pull out my brain and pop it into yours for like 5 minutes just so you could experience the emotions and my feelings towards this book then I know for a fact you’d understand me better then whatever chaos I’m about to write.

Kelly, tell me why I had a mid life crisis halfway through this book? Also tell me why I thought this would be a great recovery book for me to read straight after surgery because my dumbass paced my room like a god damn turtle trying not to bust a hernia in my stomach with the absolute gut wrenching butt puckering face straining bombs of all time. I was 0.2 seconds away from throwing hands not gonna lie. But holy shit thank you for the monster of a roller coaster you put me on.

Ugh Darius and Rhea will forever have my heart and soul and there is nothing I would not do for my daddy Darius I would have a cardboard cut out of him in my bed if I could. I will take no judgement from anyone. Thank you thank you thank you Kelly. I loved this book and this world and I honestly I could kiss your brain for what you have created. I’m so sad to see this chapter end but I’m eagerly excited for whatever you have planned next. Also did I highlight over 30 things in this book? Yes.

Happy reading xx

I kiss her like I can't breathe without her, because I can't.
I kiss her like she holds my heart within her, because she does.
And I kiss her like she's everything, because she is.

I feel like crying! 😫

This is the thing about trilogies, especially when you read them back to back, you get attached. When you're done reading, it's like your favourite characters are ripped from you; like you are losing them forever and that just makes me sad.
We've gone through so much together, so many emotions only to break up with all the characters and park them on the "read" shelf. 😢

This trilogy is far from perfect yet all its imperfections make it a perfect book. It has so many plot holes, details that don't make sense and many things taken for granted. But! Kelly Cove really knows how to make an MMC redeem himself. I didn’t think she was able to pull it off but pull it off she did and with blazing stars.

This book is so different than all those CR romantasies in that the MFC is NOT actually the all saviour! The only one to hold the world's salvation on her mind and fickle body. These two complement each other, equal partners, they work as a team and don't only depend on the MFC. In reality, Rhea would have been lost without Darius, without his patience, his obsession with her, his devotion to make her safe at all times and to be the cushion she falls on over and over because trust me! She needed to get up so many times and still she wasn't perfect because they both had so much they still needed to learn.

The side characters? Love
Darius and Rhea's relationship? Love
Darius's obsession with Rhea's safety? Love
The way they almost lost their way when they though they lost the other? Love
Rhea's humility and pure heart? Love

Have to say though, this trilogy tackles very very dark content. At times I felt like a fist gripping mt heart and had to take a break or two.

Should you read it? Abso-fucking-lutely.

I have to clear my conscience though and say, there are A LOT of similarities between this trilogy and the Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros. (Now who copied who? I'll just leave it at the readers' discretion)
- Shadow Daddy ✔️
- Telepathy ✔️
- Beloved side character dying ✔️
- MFC tortured ✔️
I could find a couple more, especially certain scenes between the MCs, but I am just going to leave it at that.

2.5 stars for the unsatisfying ending

. . . because Darius lied, about never lying to her again, and leaving her without telling her it was coming when he knew ahead of time he would be the sacrifice that was needed to bring the balance. I would seriously be furious if a guy had betrayed me as much as he had betrayed her then gave her 5 minutes of decent treatment that made her hope for happiness and then took it all away- - no, I was seriously furious. So, her running to him months after he up and disappeared on her when he suddenly reappears, yeah, I wasn't having it. Then again, it does go along with her whole libido-driven doormat thing she had going on. She gave him some lip, but she always gave up the vag the minute he gave her the dark and dirty look, which I can honestly say was insane after he whipped the flesh off her back treated her like garbage after he insinuated himself during her heat and took every opportunity to basically treat her like garbage. Yeah, I wasn't over his telling her she was just a wet hole to use, much less the flaying her back with a whip and she's spreading her legs like he's the greatest thing since penises were invented. And all his self-flagellation was more about making himself feel better and easing his guilt by doing something than actually atoning for a damn thing. His real punishment should have been just dealing with the guilt from all the dirty work he did for the highers (like whipping her and killing to get control and abuse their children) contributed to the evils that brought the land out of balance. But his men didn't really do much or say much about how so many of the things they did were part of that evil. Yeah, it's was just very unsatisfying.

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spicy content 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5

I received this book as an arc and I can not get enough of this book and this series.

I have cried, I have laughed and I have had my heart ripped out all at once. This book will literally catapults you into such a breathtaking world that will have you gripped from the first page and that will transport you to a realm that defied all my expectations.

What can I say about Darius and Rhea, their journey is a visceral experience that gripped my heart from start to finish and I could not put this down. This book had me feeling a massive range of emotions. One moment I was laughing, and then the next moment, BAM I was a blubbering mess and it felt like the tears would never stop!

Throughout this book, Kelly has weaved a tapestry of friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and resilience. It truly is such a roller coaster of a book and the plot is just phenomenal and this for sure will be staying with me for a long time.

If you like fantasy romance this book is for you and I can not express how much of a unforgettable journey you will go on with this series.

I honestly don't know where to start. This is really hard for me because I thought I would really enjoy this book, as I did the two first in the series. I preordered it last year and I signed up to possibly receive an ARC. I couldn't wait to have it. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I was lucky enough to receive the ARC. I was so ecstatic when I finally had it. That made me only mildly enjoying it so much harder. I read the ARC until chapter 34 and then the book was released and I switched to that.

My biggest issue with this book is the fact that everything was so extremely dragged out. A lot of chapters felt like filler and didn't really seem to serve a purpose. I was so bored most of the time. I had to take breaks while reading. I usually never need breaks because I'm so immersed in the book. I was 300 pages in and nothing of substance had happened. The story only picked up and became mildly interesting halfway through.

A few examples of this being unnecessarily dragged out was them traveling endlessly through the deadlands and nothing was happening. Being in the cave forever. Then Rhea falls into the water. Forever and ever and ever. What was the point of her going to the below? Nobody knows. Then Darius looks for her. Forever and ever and ever. Then she comes back and is in a coma. Forever and ever and ever. Just make it stop!

I feel like it was just a way to separate them for no reason. Maybe to add suspense to the plot? I don't know anymore. I just wanted something that actually mattered to finally happen. A dragon flying by was also so random. I guess that's the hint for the next book she mentioned at the end. That wasn't the most random and unnecessary thing. No. That was the trolls.

I don't think I will ever recover from reading that. I was so shocked at this scene unfolding. Laughing. Not because it was funny. Because it was so unbelievable to me that I was reading that. What was that? How did that make it in the book? I don't understand. I don't know what it was supposed to be. I'm guessing comedic relief? I just thought it was ridiculous and unnecessary. It gave nothing to the plot. One might argue that the trolls come back to help in the end. I knew they would when he told her to call on him or whatever. Their help didn't even matter though. They did nothing for the fight. It was only when Darius went under that something happened. The trolls didn't have to be in this book at all.

I don't hate Darius with the fire of a thousand suns anymore. That is because he completely switched personalities and became this loved-up, sweet guy. I was not at all expecting that from him. I liked him more now but seeing this huge change in him seemingly out of nowhere was still strange. Cute. Yet strange nonetheless.

Rhea was still mildly annoying with her inner monologues letting us know all the time that "Darius would never hurt her again. I'm on my knees but I have the power. Darius is the best now and bla bla bla" I hated that. Is that really being shown in the story if we need to be reminded all the time?

Kade finally came to his senses and started being respectful towards the person who loved him most. Good for him. When he called her mom it was one of the moments that actually made me feel something in this book.

Another thing that made me feel something was Seb dying. I think it was kind of predictable. I assumed it would be him, Josh, or Leo. I guessed someone mildly important had to die. It was sad because he has been my favorite guy since book one. He's the one I wanted Rhea with from the start. Even if I knew it would never happen.

I didn't like the fact that all the Highers were taunting Rhea with the abuse she went through all the time. Also letting her know about things she didn't even know about. It was unnecessary for the plot to constantly bring it up in that way. I get Patrik would do it but all the Highers seemed unnecessary and repetitive.

Charles's motives were so random. He wanted more lands we don't even know of or care about. Ok cool. I don't know what else to say to that.

The ending was ok. I thought it was obvious one of them would have to sacrifice themselves somehow. When Darius did I didn't really feel that bad. He would obviously come back. Because this has been happening over and over in this book. He came back. Great. The end.

I think this book could have been as great as the others if it didn't have so much unnecessary filler. Like the trolls. WHHHHYYYYYYY?!??!?!? If it was shorter and didn't have a bunch of randomness in there I think it could have been exciting like the first two were. The problem was that everything that mattered was so spaced out in between filler. Like Rhea falling in the water. That could have happened for suspense or whatever but he should have just finally found her the first day. Or Kade should have. Screaming "MOM" and getting her. Instead of chapter after chapter of nothing.

I don't know what else to say. I really wanted to love it but I didn't. I'm happy they had a happy ending. I still recommend reading this book to get the ending to their journey. I still might read the next books she mentions at the end and hope for the best because I did love the first two. The series as a whole was good and I liked the overall journey. I'm still happy I saw this on Kelly Coves TikTok last year.

Ugh I just don’t know how to rate this….. I’m in between hating it and loving it.

Did it make me cry? Yes!
Was it too long? Yes !
Were there chapters that just should have been deleted? Uhh hell yes?
Was a lot of it romance that just didn’t make sense? wtf yes!
Did I get bored half way through? Yes!
Was the last 20% so frustrating? Yes!
Butttt did I enjoy the entire storyline of the series? Yes lmao

Rhea- I absolutely loved her in book 1, but as the series progressed she lost her spark and everything became about Darius and I hated that for her.

Darius- he redeemed himself from book 1 but that ending had me screaming…. Like after everything you went through with her? It’s giving Edward when he leaves Bella and she has the Hoaa hoaa moments 😂

Lord Higher Charles- we barely got chapters with him and he was supposed to be the true Villian.

All the side characters were decent though and my heart is broken about Seb 😔.

Book 1 was great!
Book 2 was literally nothing
Book 3 is confusing and conflicting.

This series, man. I mean, be prepared, it is DARK and the trigger warnings should be read and adhered to, but LAWD, Darius is everything.

This book is the finale to The Hidden of Vrohkaria series, and it is so worth the wait. The world building in it is up there with some of the best, and the tension and angst will eat you up. Without giving away too many spoilers, Darius and Rhea’s story is amazing and heartbreaking, and if you don’t sob throughout the series, there is something seriously wrong with you. I don’t want to say too much, but thank you @kellycove.author for writing this series and putting their story out into the world. Thank you.

PS - there is a surprising troll scene in this book… and I did almost hyperventilate from laughter. That is all I can say.

724 pages in 2 days… hmm I’m disappointed in myself. But a full review on the series as a whole some of the concepts were weird like the major plot line… hella disturbing which was the point but also rlly weird. But still 4 star series cz it was cute , Darius evolution and change in behaviour towards Rhea?! Friggin swooooonnnnnnn I read this series after seeing one quote I’m not angry about it thoroughly enjoyed and I was lowkey terrified most of the time whilst reading bcz of that weird ass aspect to the plot, no spoilers tho read it yoself :)

ARC review: When I tell you I have not cried this hard over a dang book in so long!! I absolutely devoured this book because it was so incredibly hard to put down. I am obsessed with Rhea + Darius’ story. After book one, I wasn’t sure there’d be redemption for Darius. After book two, I thought we were going places and it couldn’t get better than that. After book three, I’m convinced that Darius takes the cake for number one book boyfriend of the year!! Rhea stepping into her power, Darius standing firm in his vow, and the raw emotions that poured out of this series. Could not have asked for a better ending to their story and I’m so eager to see where Kelly takes her vision next. Incredible writing, heartbreaking, breathtaking, amazing, every feeling you could ever feel not only shines through in the entire series, but they really just slam into you with the final book. I WILL be rereading this series again and again and recommending to all my fellow readers. Vrohkaria is waiting for you!

Let’s break it down:
-First 20% of the book: Darius says some variation of “I don’t deserve forgiveness”. Sex ensues. Rhea gets fed food after. They make some vague declaration to save Kade and the rest of the pack *soon*. Repeat. Repeat. REPEAT.

**as a pallet cleanser - you get a 7ft nude troll dancing and jerking off in front of Rhea before presenting his ejaculation to her……………**

Kade escapes….. somehow? Leading to Rhea being stuck underwater? That felt….. unnecessary and completely unexplained but convenient??

Then for the next 60-70% of the book it’s basically threats of rape against Rhea, creatures being drugged to rape women, Darius not feeling worthy and loving affirmation from Rhea. Over. And. Over. AND OVER.

Last portion of book: some legitimate battle scenes, more threats of sexual assault, actual attempt at sexual assault, everyone appears screwed, but ALAS! Darius just has to take a quick vacation down south and all is well.

And lastly, the amount of times Rhea said “this male” had me fighting the urge to DNF. One thing that reallllllllly drives me up the wall is when a series starts off strong but the ending doesn’t stick.

The first two books in the series were decent reads but this one was very drawn out and repetitive and the ending was almost a little anticlimactic to the buildup. Overall, it was a good series but I think it could have been 1 (slightly longer than average) book instead of a trilogy.

This trilogy is one of my favorite epic romantasy series! The characters were complicated, the world-building was excellent, the plot was convoluted but fascinating, the action was intense, and the development of the story was addictive. Hopefully, now that the series is complete, people smarter than me can read it all at once for full emotional impact.

Warning: Vrohkaria is a brutal, grim and unjust land, so please check trigger warnings. Many terrible things happen in all three books, to all the characters.

My only complaint is that, in this third book, there is too much lovey talk... and sex! I wish those scenes had been scaled back. But otherwise, the main and secondary characters, and all they had to endure, will stick with me for a good while.

Tropes:

* MF Romantasy
* Epic word-building
* Enemies to lovers
* Fated mates/ wolf shifters
* Horrifying enemies
* Great secondary characters
* elite army commander/ wolf shifter MMC
* alpha female rebel/ hidden heir FMC
* 1st book- he hurts her badly (physically)
* redemption arc
* forced proximity
* slow rebuilding of trust in 2nd book
* Intensely romantic relationship - 3rd book
* explicit sex
* all the trigger warnings
* epic battle scenes
* monsters
* evil rulers of the land/ betrayal
* hidden secrets
* gods/ goddesses
* family trauma
* much suffering
* eventual HEA

DNF at 90%. Idk. I just couldn’t do it anymore, I have been forcing this series since the 2nd one but I am finally releasing myself from this book and moving on. I have a rule not to DNF and just finish it but Rhea and Darius are absolutely intolerable. I only kept going because I enjoy the side characters way more. I wanted to see how everyone else story ended but I’m over it after Sebs death. I tried like I only have 10% and started reading the next chapter after she was captured and I can’t.

The first book was soooo good!!! I ate it up so fast and was so anxious with the cliffhanger that I immediately started the next book and was immediately disappointed. Maybe i underestimate the mate bond but how he was towards Rhea and forcing her to be away from her pack and locked in his room, ugh I just can’t. And book 3???? Who TF IS THIS GUY? No development to the sappy man boy we see in book 3.

Now I am in nursing school so that slows my reading down a bit but I’ve read other books that I’ve enjoyed during nursing school and can usually get through them in a couple weeks if it’s a good read. This was just boring, unnecessary, and so many things that didn’t matter. And so many errors too I don’t understand.

I’m new to this leaving reviews thing so I hope I got across how I’ve felt about this book.

I absolutely devoured this series, and I even lost sleep because I couldn’t stop reading.😚 Darius’s redemption and groveling for Rhea’s forgiveness was everything, and I loved the devotion, obsession, and most of all, how much he loved her through everything that happened to them. I didn’t expect to love Darius in the beginning, but he grew on me the more he showed his devotion through his actions for Rhea.

Despite starting out as enemies, it only made them stronger, and I loved how Darius never once entertained the thought of OW after meeting Rhea. They were both so possessive of each other, and I loved that too. Rhea was also a badass and such a tough girl, especially after everything she went through, and it even made me tear up when Darius showed her how much he loved her despite her being abused and tortured by the Highers.

And even though Darius betrayed Rhea in the first book, it was all a misunderstanding caused by a memory stone, and he made up for his mistakes by being there for Rhea and giving himself the same scars he was forced to give her.

This series definitely has a chokehold on me, and I can confidently say I would reread it again in the future.🥹

Man oh Man has this entire series been a rollercoaster.

The moment I received an arc The Lands Defying, I immediately began rereading the entire series to really get stuck into Vrokharia and Kelly did NOT disappoint.
The writing served laughter and tears while being extremely engaging to keep up with and now, I look slightly insane to the people at the station because I broke into maniacal laughter out of nowhere. Plus, the character (ahem…Darius) development was preposterously 🤌 🤌 🤌. Honestly, there were parts where I really doubted the him but the grovel did not disappoint.
My favorite thing was how engrossed I was into the plot from the beginning to the ✨ EVERAFTER ✨ and I am OBSESSED with the panel art at the end.
Seriously, I cannot get over it 😍😍😍😍😍!!

I would remind anyone to really take in the TWs because K.C did NOT play around.

The middle was a little slower but I loved the calm relationship side and not all at action. I have absolutely adored this series. It seriously needs more attention than it's got. It's a little dark and can be triggering for some but I loved this and the ending is so good. I love a romantasy with a HEA despite massive traumas, lose and war. Hits every emotion and this book definitely had my gasping and kicking my feet at some points..... I'm a reactive and expressive reader who would get strange looks if I read in public 😂😂😂

So good I have to leave a review

When I first started this series, i definitely was not thinking I would fall in love with the characters the way I ended up. Rhea and Darius suffered so much separately and then together but they were able to help mend each other back together. The ending of this book was rough and I cried (a lot) but it was so worth the read. All 3 books were so freaking good that I might just be in a slump after this.

Sad it's over!

What a ride this series was. A full roller coaster of emotions that will have you fighting tears at times. Kelly told an incredible story here, and I must say those spicy scenes were Carolina Reaper level. My only advice would be to tighten up the story just a touch. 100 pages less in this last book would have made it absolutely perfect. This series makes this author an auto read for me.

So many emotions reading this last book of the series. Watching Rhea grow into her heir powers, watching her bring her wolf forth. Watching her rescue her pack, save Kade, fight for those that have/had no voice. Watching Darius love her through it all. Such very powerful writing. And chapters 83 & 84? If you are not a sobbing mess, I hesitate to say you understand the power book characters can invoke in you. This is a definite re-read series.
