Night and Ro’s chemistry is out of this world. You’re going to love their friends too. All the tension, all the spice and hilarious banter.
This will be a interconnected stand-alone series.
It was also so refreshing to read a book where the author is actually knowledgeable about the kinks and scenes included. So rest assured what you’re reading is accurate, the attention to detail is amazing and the scenes are laid out beautifully to ensure you an *immersive* reading experience if you catch my drift 🥵

Sparrow and her bestie are enjoying their vacation before she leaves for 6 months, and since her friend is late to the party/vacation. she's solo and meets bartender/Racer Night. They already have chemistry, and he drops all his rules for her. They go 0 to 100, taking her to a race and letting her ride him 💦💦💦. It's a fun time.
But it was a one-time thing lol ;) sure it wasn't. Lost of fun between them plus races and drama from the race. We also got some side characters and their hints.
My only complaint was HE LET HER LEAVE!! I get letting the one go to do what she wants to do, just a safe traveles and a hot kiss and walks away... no texts, no calls, nothing. Just nothing for 6 months and in the epilogue... 😐😐😐 they get together.

I LOVE Cindy’s writing. The moment she told me she was writing a novella with car racing, I frothed at the mouth. I’m not the biggest fan of lots of smut with little plot but Cindy blew this out of the park. I read this while out walking, at work, literally anywhere I could sneak in a chapter. Cindy writes top-tier smut, which made me blush in places. Night was delicious!
I also really appreciate how much this little gem pulled at my heart strings. I didn’t expect that. I’ve already been in Cindy’a DM to tell her how much I loved the ending.

Chasing Midnight was a good book, however, I found it incredibly hard to really connect with the characters and the relationship that formed between them.
With novellas, I know they are shorter and because of that there isn’t as much development with the story but I felt as though this one needed a bit more.
The relationship between the two main characters just didn’t work for me. It was too quick, not enough there between them. It’s just they meet, get separated after like 2 days, then eventually get a HEA. But we don’t see that HEA so it just makes it not really seem worth it to me. I feel like if there was a little more to it, if it was a little longer, it would have the potential to be really good.

Omg I didn't think that I need a spicy racing romance in my love but I am wrong. I fell in love with Night and Ro from the beginning. If you want to read something that will give you Fast and Furious vibes this book will give you that and so much more. I already need the next book. This book didn't disappoint. This is the first book that I read from Cindy and I can't wait to get my hands on another one.

I am so sad to be rating this so low. I think my expectations were out of alignment for what this book is. If you want fun and unique spice - you'll have a good time. I just wanted the cars and car racing to be a more integral part of the story, but there were only a couple racing scenes (no working on the cars or meeting up with other gearheads etc.) Also that ending made me a bit mad - clearly they don't care that much about each other...

What a fun and wild ride. This one night stand turned whirlwind was a great read. Sparrow is getting ready to go to Italy for a paid internship. Her and her best friend decide to take a week vacation before she leaves. Sparrow was expecting a girls trip not to get swept off her feet by a smoking hot bartender. It was suppose to be a one night thing but the two just can't seem to get enough of eachother. Night is a bartender who enjoys and wins street races. He has a rule that he never sleeps with the vacationers but Sparrow is different. These two feel an instant attraction and have an intense time together. Sparrow is feisty, can hold her own, and is a total brat. She's stubborn and likes to push all of Nights buttons. I enjoyed reading her and her outgoing and fun personality. Night is the kind of guy you want to hate because he is so cocky but he ends up charming you. His bad boys vibes were sexy and his dirty talking was delicious. Sparrow and Night felt so right and I loved reading their story. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy one night stand turn lovers, street racing, fooling around in public, fun side characters, and dirty talking that will melt you.

Perfect novella which is an apt mix of story and steam in small chapters which gives you a clear story of not only the present couple but also sets up the premise of the next story.
Racing is always such a great set up for a book to give the adrenaline rush to the readers in all the ways possible.

I kept seeing little snippets from Chasing Midnight by Cindy Dawson that had me so interested I couldn’t help but pick it up and I’m so glad I did. Ro decided to take a week vacation with her friend to celebrate graduation/say goodbye before her 6 month internship in Paris and happened to meet Night while he was working in a bar she went into. The chemistry was instant and they planned on one night together that turned out to be not enough for either of them and they continued spending time together while she was there and feelings kept getting stronger. There wasn’t a lot of plot outside of their relationship but I don’t mind that. I loved Night and Ro both separate and together, I think they were really good for each other. Night was dominate, possessive and knew what he wanted and how to deliver which had me weak. Ro was independent, sassy and went for what she wanted, I love a strong FMC. The banter between them was both funny and hot. And the spicy scenes, well they were spicing. 🥵 I also liked seeing the side characters and got invested and want to read their books, too.

This book was definitely more spice than plot, but it was so much fun. I loved that it was a girl going to a beach town after graduation for a week getaway with her bestie… and meeting a dirty mouthed guy who loves to race!
I have to say, every song mentioned was a banger. I chuckled every time because each song mentioned suited the book so well🤣

Sparrow or Ro books a graduation/goodbye vacation to a small costal town in Texas with her best friend Elle. Only Elle’s flight gets delayed so instead of sitting in her less than extravagant hotel she heads to poke around the town while she waits. After walking around doing the tourist shops, she finds herself feeling a bit peckish. Lading herself at the bar top with the hottest bartender she’s ever set eyes on! When she tries to snap a photo forgetting the flash is on, not only is she full on embarrassed but she somehow lands the digits of the bartender who offers to show her a good time. Night Jacobs is more than meets the eye but her eyes don’t mind what they are seeing.
Midnight aka Night is having a classic when a girl walks into a bar moment, when he can’t take his eyes off of the hottie with the pink hair. He takes his chance putting his number in her phone, breaking his number 1 rule about not fraternizing with the weekenders. There is something different about Sparrow though, she’s not like other girls and the moment car talk comes out of her mouth he’s looking for a wedding chapel (in his mind of course). Picking her up and taking her to a car meet, letting her sit in the passenger seat while he takes the W. Riding that high and taking her back to his place he knows right then and there that she will be the end of him, all his rules go out the window!

Oh this is going to be an amazing series (no cliffhangers they are stand alone interlocking). I love the dynamics between all of the characters, but Sparrow and Midnight just wow I don’t think y’all are ready but trust me you’ll be obsessed with this couple.

For such a short read the plot is on point. I read this book so fast because it hooks you immediately, that banter is fantastic, and there is not one single lull.
The only thing more I could ask for would be for the book to be 2-3 times longer, I could have read about Night and Ro for days! I need so much more of them: both of their POVs while she’s in Italy, and so much more time when she returns.

I freaking LOVE Sparrow and Midnight. I love everything from Sparrows free spirit, sassy, and feisty attitude to Nights cocky assuredness. Oh and can we please talk about what a freaking dirty mouth Sparrow has. I mean that girl had me all hot and bothered with the dirty things coming out of her mouth!! Her character was EVERYTHING I love in FMC. Not only was this insta lust for the characters but it was insta lust for me too!! I’m not usually into the insta lust trope, unless there’s a ton of angst, but Cindy freaking killed it with Night and Sparrow adding only a sprinkling of angst.

Yet another 5⭐ read, absolutely love Cindy Dawson writing style. All hits no misses 💗🖤
The nostalgia is real with this one, deff takes you back to your late teen-early 20s, cruising and vibing all summer. Getting into trouble and just being free. Such a great lighthearted and sexy read. I loved every single second of it.
Does everything take place in the span of just 2-3 days? Yes, but my God it feels like these two have known each other for years. They were deff fated to be together. I absolutely loooveee Ro and Night. Their chemistry is absolutely delicious. I knew I liked the number 4 for a reason 😈😈😈 Like the way I kept gasping during all those scenes. Daddy Night has a filthy lil mouth on him. I was giddy and blushing during the whole read. The spicy scenes as always just hit so damn goooooood!!!
Our girl Ro was just out on a lil post-grad vaca before she leaves to Italy for her internship and she got herself a whole sexy, tall, southern charmer of a man with a wicked tongue. Deff thanking Ellie for getting that last minute flight and telling our girl to get some drinks at the bar.
I can't wait till we get the other three books in the series cause this was so damn good and I need moreeeee!!

I love this book in every way the mix of spice, romance, racing cars, OMG! Totally in love, and the chemistry between the main characters is explosive, I could read more of them and not get enough, Ro is sassy, sensual, and independent, in every interaction with Night I could see the sparks between them.
I felt like I was in the Tokyo Driff movie but in Texas, Night is perfect he is hot, and seductive, everything that comes out of his mouth makes your legs tremble, the typical bad boy that we love so much. I couldn't stop reading it, it had me hooked from the first page, and I finished it in only two hours, I had never read anything like this before, Cindy hooked me with this story, and I want to keep reading this series. The smut left me speechless, I need a Night in my life.
The playlist was everything, it gave a perfect touch to get lost in the story while listening to good music. I will keep Ro and Night in my sights because I still want more of them, I loved them, although I want more stories from the other friends, I loved Ellie and I'm looking forward to her story with Caz.

This spicy story has all the action and tension of the Fast and Furious franchise but where they took out all the heat to make it appropriate for a younger demographic, this book doubles down on it. The relationship between Night and Ro is explosive from the jump, and it feels like a bomb about to go off at first, but it blossoms into something actually really sweet.
The story itself is fast and furious. It is not a very long read, but it packs a punch! There is a perfect balance of action and romance to keep you invested from start to finish.
My favorite thing in any book is a found-family dynamic with plenty of humor and banter and this one has all that. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and learn more about the other members of Night's crew because as soon you meet them, they feel like family. I don't know how Cindy did it, but I immediately felt like I was part of this crew and I wasn't an outside reader, I was sitting on the bar stool next to Ro hearing a story about my friends and laughing about their antics.

Okay so I Loved this book! The only thing I didn’t like about it, was how short it was and the fact that there isn’t a second one for this couple. Because I NEED more of them! More of their story, more of their sexy playfulness! More of their outstanding chemistry!
I felt like this story just touched the surface on what could be an epic romance novel! That’s not me saying that this isn’t a great love story, because it was! I loved it! But… I felt that it kind of had an open ending. And maybe that was intentional, so the author could one day go back and write more to it. 🤷🏼♀️ I t felt like the story ended at the true beginning of their relationship, and I would love to see how they settle into life together!
With that being said, hot damn this book was explosive right out of the gate! And I don’t think it really ever stopped! It was short and spicy! But it also had plot, which was really nice! I loved the side characters, almost as much as the MCs. And I cannot wait for her to continue this series!

I got recommended this book by my partner, because I've always been a big fan of the idea of street racing ( fast and furious will do that to a girl ). First off, I want to say the story hooked me within the first few words of the very first chapter. I loved the slight bits of humor, Sparrow's sass and attitude was spot on and what I love to see. Then Night.. Don't get me started! I loved reading the race chapters, and the spice scenes were written out so well that they had my attention with every turn of the page! I loved the story of classic hookup of one night stand, turning into more with time. I also love that she didn't give up on what she wanted, but returned to him in the end. It's definitely worth the read, and I can't wait to see the rest of the stories in this series! I'll definitely be sticking around, because I'm the type of girl who definitely would love a badass street racer from Texas?

This is my first book from Cindy Dawson and definitely won’t be my last. I am now addicted to these characters and can’t wait for more in the Shift Faced Crew series. I was instantly sucked in by the intense chemistry, banter and dirty talk between Night and Ro. Fast cars, hot steamy nights and very sexy scenes…yes please!! This book left me wanting more. It’s hard to believe it only took place in the span of a few short days. The spunk and confidence that Ro emits is top notch. Night being insanely hot and possessive over a girl he barely knows and was to only be a one night stand, luv it. Feeling like they’ve known each other forever, perfection. Even in those short days spent together you could tell they would be inseparable long term.

The southern drawl is already ugh .... it takes a man to a whole other level, him telling her 'darlin'. Yeah i would do anything. Both of these two characters are so sassy and confident, i loved their banter and the way they would push eachother. Everytime they are together sparks fly, the tension could be felt by all of their friends. Even i could feel it. From the first incredibly hot hook up to all that follows this book is pure fire!
I can't wait for the next couples books, because if this book is any indication oh boy we're going to be in for another wild ride.
