Scribe: the apprentice
In an age where magic and the wizards that wielded that power, have faded into disputed myth. The Darkness and the evil it shrouds, is an all to real presence.
Young Gareth has spent his life training, dreaming of following in his father's footsteps as the greatest warrior to have served the Crescent Lands.
His father, knowing the true horror of battle, has other plans for his son. He has used the last vestige of his political favor, to secure an apprenticeship for his son in the venerable Guild of Scribes.
The Order of Scribes, have recorded every event since the dawn of history. They are present at every political or academic gathering. They walk the battlefields for every conflict. They are held in awe, and feared at length: for no man truly wants history to speak ill of them. And in that way, their presence has altered the exact events that they were sent to chronicle.
Gareth's first call to duty has him traveling to the distant Kingdom of Rhyce. An ancient land seated next to the darkness of the Lost Realms and the stronghold of the Mürken Rhüle. There he will make discoveries that will bring him to question everything he has learned, everything about himself and a truth that threatens every, living, thing.
The race is on to inform the Guild and to discover the secrets held within the mysterious Black Scroll.
The answers will again send Gareth on a quest to reach the Island of Souls, in hope of preventing, another war with the oncoming Darkness.

Scribe: the apprentice is a powerful read. Young Gareth is training to become a substantial soldier. He will follow in his father's footsteps, a horrific battle in the arriving dismay of the Crescent Lands.
It is an extraordinary story of a sorcerer, magic, strength, fear, battle, creatures, and rivalry to bring the aspirations of many souls to a dire kingdom. You get attached to the characters; it's a page-turner.
There is a lot of action with mysterious twists and plots, and the story is for everyone. The author has written an intriguing book that I strongly recommend.
