In this gripping new African American romance, "A Hood Chick & A Crime Boss", author Kelsi delivers an unforgettable, intense, and heart-pounding hood love story. The tale transports readers from the grimy streets of Alabama to the electrifying nightlife of Atlanta.
KeyShana Duncan, an ambitious twenty-year-old paralegal, knows the struggles of the hood all too well. Though she dreams of a brighter future fueled by her desire to become an attorney, reality paints a grimmer picture—an alcoholic mother and a father serving life for a gang-related crime.
A chance encounter with Ahmad "Wolf" Woolfe, a wealthy but up-and-coming crime boss, changes everything. KeyShana is thrust into a world of fast money, perilous power dynamics, and opulence beyond her wildest dreams. Her life takes a dangerous turn when Wolf, infatuated and possessive, lets his love and feelings cloud his judgment. He finds himself entangled deeper than he could have ever imagined.
"A Hood Chick & A Crime Boss" is a gripping tale of love, loyalty, and the lengths one will go to protect those who matter most. It's a stunning testament to the strength of a woman fighting for love and survival amidst chaos, and a riveting exploration of entrapment in a world one is desperate to escape.
I liked this story a lot. I think because I loved the FMCs story so much. The book has a good balance of romance and urban. It has so many swoon worthy moments, I was highlighting every time Ahmad said something sweet and encouraging to Keyshana. The ending chapter kind of threw me off but I am intrigued to see how things progress with these two. This was a NTMA. ❤️
Taking care of her little brother Emory, going to school to become a paralegal, working part time as a waitress to maintain the bills while her mother was busy getting drunk. At twenty years old. I admire Keyshana strength and resilience. As rough as it was for her. She remained steadfast by graduating and getting herself and Emory out of Alabama and away from their alcoholic mother, and getting the job she wanted in Atlanta. Wolf took one look at Keyshana and knew she was going to be his. The way Wolf applied pressure had me smiling. Not many men of Wolf stature are willing to show their vulnerable side but he definitely was upfront and honest about what he was looking for in a woman and made sure Keyshana knew it was her. I like Remi. Keyshana needed someone in her corner and Remi being her cousin was exactly what Keyshana need. Someone to look out for her and Emory. I believe Remi and Jasiri would make a good couple. Jasiri may be a menace in the streets but when it comes to his daughter. She bring out the softer side of him. I almost threw my phone when he walked in his house and saw his baby momma Senia had another man in his house doing a DNA test. Whew that chile is scandalous and trifling. When Wolf and Jasiri boss Breeze came over to Wolf house. Being who Breeze was. I never thought he would turn out to be a creep and try to force himself on Keyshana. The girl had been through a lot and Wolf walking in on Breeze attacking Keyshana had everything going left.
Wolf is definitely a book bae and somebody that you want on your side. He can be romantic and your protector when needed. KeyShana went through alot. Wolf is almost a god send. I understand her mom went through some things but it still doesnt justify her actions. I dont see how any MOTHER could be that way. The scene with Jah coming home early had me a little on edge but it could have been a few things he could have walked in on. The author went left on us though because I was not expecting that. I like Remis' character and how supportive her and Jacob are of KeyShana. Waiting on part two to see how much of a boss Wolf really is and if he has the pull to get out of this situation. Smooth read with believable scenes and characters.
Kelsi, I wasn't expecting the end as it was. I can only imagine what's gonna happen next. KeyShana didn't have an easy life but she did more than some people that didn't have any obstacles in their way. Just looking at her turn lemons into lemonade was so good. Her spirit was so good she just made everything good that she could. Wolf, knew he had a gem he went through the correct paths and did what needed t be done, in order to show up and teach Keyshana how to accept love. Now I don't know how this is gonna work but I have faith that something good will help them.🤗🤗🤗
Oh wee...That ending was juicy juicy...Breeze lost his mind and got got'd🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️..Soon as Shana gets a taste of being free and letting her hair down someone wanna take her joy away...I love Remi and Jah chemistry, I see them going far together...Wolf is definitely someone you wanna have as a partner,he's just everything a women would want!!! But I feel like that Marie chick gonna cause problems when she finds out 🤔🤔...Overall this was a good read definitely can't wait for next part!!!
WOW I would've never thought I would read the ending like that. There was some crazy stuff going on with this book for real. How do U let another man who U think is UR baby daddy come into the house of the man that is actually taking care of U and the baby?? I mean seriously how dumb can U really be?? Poor Shana... Just when things were looking up for her something like this had to happen... Well can't wait to see how this one goes... I hope we don't have to wait too long...
Now what in the world was Breeze thinking. Why would he do something like that to KeyShana. His actions caused Wolf to do something that could get him and everyone he loved erased. I don't blame Wolf tho, friend or foe gotta go when they come for mine. I like Jasin and Remi. I think they would be a great completion for each other. Ion know how things gonna work out for Wolf and Shana but I hope they make it wherever they going safely.💛💛
Baby when I tell you that cliffhanger through me for a loop because I could not believe that Breeze lost his mind like that. I am not mad at how Wolf handled him either because he definitely violated by what he attempted to do to Keyshana hopefully everything things work out for them both because I hate the fact that they have to go into hiding.
This book was a little slow for me. I did like how KeyShana was persevering through tough times, and taking care of her brother. I think that’s what I liked the most. I did like how intentional Wolf was coming so you know, he definitely listened to the homeless man, and took his words to heart . Wolfe just did not give me crime boss vibes at all and definitely not with what happened at the end. I don’t think I’ll read part 2. Rating between 2.7 -3
Keyshana is what you call a female that works with what she can until she can get better! I love how she stood ten toes down for her brother and refused to give up on him because of her circumstances!I was happy to see her take that leap and get out there for her and her brother. With a mother like hers it’s hard but she saw the light and went for it! That glimpse of light was all she needed and her life changed for the better! The love that Remi has for her made me so happy for her but the love that Wolfe was even better! I can’t wait to see what’s go come for them I just feel things will be good but they may hit some bumps in the road! Part 2 me please!
It was an ok read. I never expect that ending but Breeze deserve what he got. Wolf just did what any man would've did protect his woman. Keyshana really gonna need therapy after this. I like Remi and Jah together, I hope they take it further. I hope everything work out for Wolf and Keyshana.
Whew this book was so good that ending though I would of never thought that would happen. We need a back story in part two because what in the world made that happen. They didn’t even know each other. Did Breeze have a habit of doing that to women or was he so drunk he thought she was someone else we need answers.
This was a cute instalove story. I like Wolfe & Keyshana together. I really wish we would of got more interaction with Jah & Remi. I truly didn’t see that ending coming. Breeze was only in one chapter in the whole book, so him playing a big part in the cliffhanger, was crazy! Looking forward to part 2!
I can't wait for part 2! Wolfe is that dude for sure! I love how Wolfe reassured Shana and loved her. Shana was a go-getter as a woman who had to hold down her household. Nothing but praises for my girl, she took care of her brother and handled business. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Jah and Remi.
Great book I’m in ahh at the fact that Shoni mom doesn’t care that she’s taking care of her brother Emory like he’s her child. The move to Georgia is supposed to be great but I’m not sure after her new boyfriend makes a choice without thinking . Great read need part 2
Shan is caring, selfless and a go getter. Her mother should be a shame of herself. Breeze cross the line and got what he deserved. Wolf don't play about family and his's money. He trip me out how he going to tell Jah to let that man go so he can get his lick in.senia is stupid and trifling why would ask another man to come to your boyfriend house.
That was a lot of responsibility to take care of her brother and her mother wolf really came in at a time of need for her Emory but wow he done got them in a tight situation but that ma shouldn't be trying to take advantage of women so he got what was coming to him
Shana was a real one going to school, working, and taking care of her brother. I’m happy she got away from her mom to make a better life for herself and her brother. I like Wolf for her she gave him a chance Breeze was wrong he got what he deserved can’t wait for part 2.
I’m enjoying the read so far I didn’t no what is about to happen but it’s definitely getting hot in the kitchen! I’m hoping Wolf protects ol girl bc things about to heat up! Can’t wait for part 2
A good read with just the right amount of drama, secrets, and Street drama. I am loving the characters, and the relationships they are building. Putting his woman first has started some problems and I can't wait for what is to come.
GREAT READ!! Book 1 started off with a bang. Shana went through so much at a young age, then comes Wolf. Everyone needs a Wolf in their life. I'm ready to see how everything works out for them and Jah and Remi.
Soon as Shana find some normalcy in life it blows up. I don't know how I feel about leaving the baby. Breeze shouldn't have done that he was wrong so he got what he got Oh Well!!!
Great job to the beginning of this series. I am loving how Wolf is all in with KeyShana and knows how much she needs him with everything she has been through. Book 2 me
