Part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone.
Jordyn Ellery is the author of the 'Billy Boys Series' which includes titles such as 'Retribution' and 'Redemption' - to be published in 2024.
She is a dark romance author and loves to include morally gray characters as well as plot twists. Jordyn is a huge fan of romantic suspense and gritty love stories. If she isn't writing about the most loveable hated characters, then she's reading about them.
~Book 2 of the Billy Boys Series! Redemption holds a storyline fillled with twists and turns. You have Deron MMC who is a moody guy. He has been sober since he lost a close friend to him. Then we have Rhea FMC. She is a preppy girl but with a damaged background. Deron and Rhea started to work together since she needed to complete her hours for her to be on her own on a plane. There was so much tension between these two it was crazy. But Deron realized that she was a gift sent from his passing friend. Deron is also like a vigilante you may say!! The plot was good. It keeps you entertained and makes you want to keep reading. There were some parts in the story that felt like I was reading a slow burn. The character development is good. After reading this book I did feel you can read this as a standalone, but some characters that get mentioned do come out in book 1. Now what a crazy twist of an ending!! Also the last two chapters sure made me shed a tear or two!!! Thank you Jordyn Ellery for giving me the chance to ARC this book!!!
✨ARC review✨ First & foremost, Jordyn, Thank You, for allowing me the opportunity!
Devon & Rhea are going to live rent free in my head! The character development. (Between both books) How they intwined with each other. Phenomenal. Grumpy/Sunshine. These two just healed each other, in the best way! The journey this story took me on, plot twist masterpiece! I am a sucker for plot twists & this book had me in a chokehold! I was on a roller coaster of emotions! I was so happy & giddy, then I was sobbing, and then I was stitched all back together again! On the edge of my seat, the twists and turns, AND the SPICE! 🥵 phewwww!
Solid 5 stars. Will recommend. Will be reading this again. Will be buying the paperback for my bookshelf. Again, Jordyn, thank you for this opportunity. You are an outstanding debut author and I wish you the best (not that you need it). I cannot wait to read your next novel.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be an ARC reader! Always read trigger warnings! To make sure the book is a proper fit for you ☺️ I’m a sucker for a grumpy-sunshine and that’s exactly what you get!! There’s so much tension, angst when it comes to the backgrounds of the main characters! There’s not a slow part of this story it’s a continuous page turner with the events that take place! Their relationship develops right in front of your eyes into this beautiful love story which proves that all demons can be healed with the right person! NOW THE ENDING put me at the edge of my seat and the epilogue was made to soothe the hearts of everyone in love with Rhea and Devon😍😍
Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this as an ARC!
Absolutely amazing. This book has everything you could ask for. The angst, the tension, the moody guy and peppy girl with a damaged background and a fake smile. The storyline was thrilling I was utterly shocked by the turn of events and how these characters come to connect in a way! Their development was so lovely, the way they built up their relationship and brought out each other’s true natures prior to their trauma and soothed their demons. The ending had me in a chokehold with a sudden twist. Highly recommend if you want a suspenseful action packed read.
Thank you Jordyn for trusting me with book 2 in the Billy Boys series. I absolutely DEVOURED the first book so I knew I would love this one too.
Jordyn absolutely smashed it out OF THE PARK with this one!!
I absolutely loved watching Rhea’s growth throughout this book, she is such a strong character and a QUEEN. I loved how it all tied in with book 1 with the characters and that we got to see more from Fizzy in this book.
I knew I was going to love this book from the moment it landed in my emails, I wasn’t however expecting to be thrown onto an emotional rollercoaster during the last 20% of this book though!! WHAT WAS THAT JORDYN. You had be SOBBING.

CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️
Rhea new career, new job, new life, new hobbies a fresh start or so she thinks. Rhea is determined to start her new life right, healing herself being self-sufficient never needing anyone. Until Captain Shark busted though her door and turns her world upside-down.
Devon, emotionally shut off to the world. Locking out feeling and everyone just to keep the pain at bay. That’s until a sweet yet feisty co-pilot walks in, determined to break his icy exterior.
That’s until buried secrets and shadow monsters come back to get them. Together they break down the barriers, help carry their mental load and pain, and try to save each other.
Where to being.... Rhea is a sweet soul, her little quirks (her love of seeds and flowers), hobbies, she has an inner strength that’s just shone of the page. She takes such pride in remaining true to herself, even when things took a turn for the worst. Which translated in to her being easily relatable, she a delight to get to know. Devon has the weight of the world on his shoulders, trying to hide away his pain and leaving himself isolated from his chosen brothers. Never allowing himself to move on. Even with his icy exterior, I found him have a huge heart, caring and in turn loveable.
This story has so much drama and twist, I never saw it coming. Which I loved! I’m sucker for plot drama. The side characters just add to the characters warmth and sense of belonging. While this book 2 in the series, I didn't read book 1. I didn’t feel I needed too, to understand the story. Will I go back and read book 1 (Retribution)... Yes! Differently.

I’m pretty sure Devon has enough seeds to grow an entire greenhouse of flowers and plants. - Rhea (iykyk)

What happen when two broken souls meet each other?!
Rhea is been through, running away from her past from her abusive ex, with a new identity she is trying to start a new life and new job in another city. Neither Rhea nor Devon saw this coming when Rhea started her new job as a co-pilot for "Titan" with Devon Stark as her mentor. She is a sweet soul, strong, she is not fragile but has lot of anxieties.
Devon trying to hide away his pain and blames himself for the loss of his best friend and never allowing himself to move on. He hide his huge heart caring side into his mask and everything changes when he meets Rhea. 🙏
Let me say, this story has so much twist and turns i never saw this coming. At one chapter i literally cried and was like "Jordyn why, this is not fair" 🥺😢 the Epiloge was really good, i felt so happy for them and the spice was well written. Both MMC's has past traumas.. They didn't give up on each other, their battle brought them together and the love to each other grow more, the bond, the chemistry between them, the help to each other and the character development of Rhea and Devon was really great and i really enjoyed reading their developments.
Grumpy/Sunshine Age Gap Forced Proximity Found Family HEA
Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Rating: 🌶🌶🌶
This book was a roller coaster from start to finish. I debated between 3 and 4 stars, but I settled on 4 stars because I really did like the book. The problem I had was that there was a lot going on. Like A LOT. It definitely allowed for a lot of suspense and shock value because at times, I truly did not know what could possibly happen next, but at times, it was unclear what the point of the story was because there was so much happening.
Devon and Rhea were extremely likable even when they were being stupid which is not an easy thing to do. At times they were a bit unbalanced, but I still was rooting for them and I wanted things to work out. They were the perfect grumpy/sunshine combination. Devon was an overprotective MMC but also a sweetheart at his core. He loves hard, so hard it hurts sometimes, and I really love that. He won me over pretty quickly in the story. Rhea was a bit more...complicated? At times she seemed like this really docile sweet girl who had a sweet love for flowers and the meanings behind them, and then others... she was completely unhinged. lol Sometimes that was a bit confusing, but I feel like a lot of the questions I had about both of them as individuals were explained better later on in the story.
Overall, I did really like this book. I almost feel like this could have been a series on it's own with more fleshed out detail, but I still really enjoyed the book as a whole.

“I love you so fucking much. I love the way you look at me as if I am the only person worthy looking at, I love the way you make my body tingle when you’re around. But we were never going to get our happy ending, were we? Take this from me, you can’t save everyone. Especially those who don’t want to be saved”
Jordyn the ending chapters of this book was tearing my heart in two. I was stresssssed at the thought of what happened to Rhea. I love her and Devon and I loved this book.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this early!

ARC REVIEW I absolutely love all The Billy's Boys. This one is about Rhea and Devon. Love their story, Reed and Indie are still my favorite. Rhea and Devon both had some hard pasts to get away from. I'm glad they finally figured out that they can learn on each other. Jordyn Ellery, you almost had me. I wanted to throw the book across the room towards the end. (You will have to read it to find out) You also had some great twists in there that I didn't see coming. Can't wait to see who the next book is about.
When Jordyn tells you she's the queen of plot twist....she ain't lying!!! 🤣😭 The chemistry between Devon and Rhea, once they get past that "enemies" vibe, is explosive! They both NEEDED each other and didn't even see it coming. The emotional ride I went on, whew child!!
Thank you for letting me review this as an arc!! Please read all trigger warnings!!
This story was amazing! The story line, the developments, what the characters go through and the insane SPICY!! This was an amazing read and I definitely recommend this book!!
UGH!!! So I don’t know what I was thinking…second book in the series so I should have known better….this book got me all in my feelings more than once and I never saw it coming….chapter 61 I cried like a little girl only to read chapter 62 and have my jaw hit the floor…. @jordynellery I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive you for that 😉
OK but honestly I loved it!!! So much happened early on I thought there was no way there could possibly be any more….as always I was so wrong….this is one of those books where you think you have it all figured out only to realize everything you thought was happening was way wrong
I love Devon and Rhea’s story….an unlikely pair but I think thats what made them perfect….pilot and co-pilot literally and figuratively…both had so much past trauma in their lives they were made for each other….only they knew what the other needed when no one else did….Devon (the protector) helped Rhea see she wasn’t the fragile flower but the strong woman that lived deep inside her….while Rhea showed Devon that he doesn’t always have to be the protector and its ok to lean on others sometimes
We got so much information….found family…buried pasts that don’t always stay buried…sibling rivalry that gets a little out of control….and of course we get to see a little more of Indie and Reeds life
Before reading check the trigger warnings….there are quite a few including kidnapping and murder….this book also touched on bouts of mental illness and suicide….
All in all id recommend giving this series a read….I cant wait to see happens next
Redemption by Jordyn Ellery 4/5 ⭐ 3/5 🌶️ KINDLE UNLIMITED ARC Review: This book is an interconnected standalone. I will say this author has a very UNIQUE plotting style. She is known for her plot twists and they are PLENTY in this novel. This makes for quite the journey.I was actually not a fan of having so many plot twists because it made the story feel disconnected at times. There are some darker themes in this one mainly mental health, addiction, health struggles etc. So keep that in mind if you are going to read it. I do think the author did a really nice job on how she incorporated these into the story. It made the characters feel more relatable.Another thing of note is that with this writing style it feels like EVERY character and event holds some significance. But I was not able to piece them together without the author straight telling us how the puzzle pieces fit. I liked both our main characters but struggled to get a true feel for their history/personalities at times and wished for more character development. The spice was there and decent.Overall this was a VERY INTERESTING read. The author lives up to the tropes that are promised. Just be aware of the writing style while reading.

*ARC Review*
Rhea is trying to heal after escaping her past. She is excited to make a new career move until she meets her broody new coworker. Devon keeps his walls up high after a tragic loss. They both have grief, secrets, past trauma, and life they have to overcome in the hopes that they get a shot at romance.
Thank you for the opportunity to read Redemption early! I love a secret identity, but when you add in the grumpy sunshine and broody MMC - Redemption made a solid storyline. I did feel like both Devon and Rhea were both a little back and forth with their feelings and emotions and it made it hard to connect with them. I liked how Jordyn Ellery wrote major plot twists and turns into the story early on and not just leading up to one main event. Although this makes following the events crucial, it added something different to this book. Even with the slow burn of the romance there was still enough action to keep my interest. Overall good read!
✨ARC Review✨ HOLY COW! This book was absolutely full of unexpected twists and turns and the character development is absolutely just.. wow! Following the first book, you have Devon, who is Reed’s AA sponsor, he is just an absolute grump who has a tragic past and swears he will never love again… of course that is until he meets Rhea Jensen, his new co pilot. He swears that she is a nuisance and her tradition of giving gifts is a bother to him, until one day she doesn’t show up for work and he realizes he is more attached than he thought. Devon then uses his resourceful team to figure out what happened to the beautiful blonde that had somehow captivated him only to find out she has a tragic past too, dealing with her ex who happens to be the one man Devon Stark is looking for….
The love story in this book is definitely one to die for! It tugs at the heartstrings to see that they would do anything for each other.. including risking their lives! Beautifully written and definitely one I’d read again! I can’t wait to see how the story continues!
Tropes - Grumpy X Sunshine, strong fmc, protective mmc, forced proximity, slow burn, age gap
Rhea, a strong main character, started a new career and a new life. She wanted a fresh start to heal herself and put herself first. Captain Devon Stark, grumpy and closed off, just so happens to be Rheas new co-pilot.
When the 2 first meet, they’re instantly enemies with Devon pushing away Rhea, partially due to the grief he carries, but Rhea remains persistent. She quickly breaks down his walls and a romance slowly blossoms. These 2 go through so much together and constantly put each other first.
The plot twists in this book!!! There were so many and they were mostly all unexpected! Rhea and Devon supported and protected each other throughout and it was very sweet to read!
This book is packed full of action, plot twists and fabulous characters. It’s a fast paced read that keeps you on your toes the whole time.
The relationship between the main characters is your classic case of opposites attract and while sometimes that doesn’t work; in this case it really does. The chemistry felt real and you could definitely get a sense of the strong feelings between them.
The plot is so full of twists and at some points I thought the author was being mean making them go through so much but damn, did it make for a great read!
I haven’t read the first book in the series and I don’t think it impacted on my reading of this book but I will 100% be going back to read book one after this one.
"You've made my heart stop, beat, and f****** explode."
First things first, this book f***** with my head and played with my emotions in such a good way.
The enthusiastic new pilot assigned to work with the closed in experienced one; personalities clash before an unlikely friendship and eventual relationship begins. These two people with demons from their past will find out they have more in common than they think. I absolutely love Rhea and Devon as a pair. She's got like the innocent quirky vibe going, and he's got this overprotective thing about him. Then there's the crazy abusive ex and secret missions, and this was one heck of a read. I was sucked in from the very beginning and stayed up way too late finishing it. I definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. It is super emotional, and I loved the MCs. I like that this book had new MCs, but yet still mentions the previous books MCs. I laughed, and even got Teary eyed.
This Dark Romance is an exhilarating read with constant unpredictable events happening over, and over throughout the book. This is also book 2, meaning characters from the previous book will be mentioned even if they are not MCs. Being that this book is a darker romance please check trigger warnings before reading. The book is has several descriptive smutty scenes that are a joy to read. This book is very emotional compared to previous book. Also focusing on some mental illness issues within the MCs. The romance is somewhat angsty. The book moves at a rapid pace, making it a huge page turner.
I went into this book thinking it would be a simple romance but it WAS SO MUCH MORE THAT THAT! There was so much action, and there were plot twists around every corner (Jordyn = queen of plot twists). This book kept me hooked from the beginning. It is such a fun read.
Redemption tackles a lot of hard topics so please read the trigger warning before reading. That being said, these topics were handled with care and weren’t brushed off when they were inconvenient. Jordyn Ellery did an amazing job showing the lasting impacts of trauma from a variety of sources (ex: abusive relationships, kidnapping, suicide of a loved one) and how that can change a person’s everyday life.
Overall, these characters felt real, and they didn’t have pretty flaws that were there just for show. These characters live in the gray and every not-so-perfect thing about them just made me love them even more. Also, I actually cannot wait for Everett’s story.
PS. Thank you Jordyn Ellery for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This book started off a bit slow for me, but the plot was interesting! Two pilots, one grumpy and one sunshine, are forced to work several flights together. One day, our sunshiney FMC stops showing up for work and our MMC works with his vigilante crew to find her.
What threw me slightly about this book was that it seemed as though the MMC went from hating to in love with the FMC instantly. There was almost no lead up which felt a bit disjointed. Despite this, the story has plenty of action, drama, and spice! Devon made me want to yell at him at times, but it was nice to see him overcome and grow with Rhea. Overall it was a good read!
Redemption By Jordyn Ellery is Book 2 in the Billy Boys Series. Let me tell you this story was not what I expected in a good way. The twist this book took early on was mind blowing. Every chapter took a turn I wasn’t ready for had me on the edge of my bed. Devon poor sweet Devon can’t catch a break. His poor broken soul was devastating to me. Rhea is a riot I loved how she came in at the beginning and as we got to get to know her wow she is one fierce FMC. Both characters come from trauma and meet at this road where they cant let go of their pass but want to move forward. In suggest triggers warning are read this book is heavy.
Thank you so much Jordyn for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.
I love a Grumpy x Sunshine trope and this book was no disappointment. Devon and Rhea were so cute together and while there was a lot of action and definitely some heartbreak, their romance story line was lush.
I really liked the glimpses and the explanation of Rhea's past too and to see her overcome her troubles and trauma was a delight to read. She was such a strong character and really fit well with Devon too.
Chapter 61 and 62 got me good - while I'm definitely not trying to give away any spoilers there's a good twist in this part that is quite the shock.
I also love the flashbacks to Retribution and the cameos from Reed and Indie too.
If you're looking for a good grumpy x sunshine story with a little action, definitely go get this! Also, read Retribution if you haven't already! 10/10 recommend them both!
The story of Devon and Rhea was emotional and I felt like I was in a roller coaster! It was a lot of twist and turns, that I didn’t see coming. And the plot twist was phenomenal and fun! Depression is a theme in this book and I liked how it was written about it. Liked that the characters from the first book is intertwined in this book and still can read as a standalone. Loved that Devon and his friends are not afraid to show emotions, especially reading four grown up guys hugging eachother a bit awkwardly. The ending was fun and sweet.
This was my first read from Miss Jordyn Ellery, and MISS GIRL!! I did not need to cry like I did at the end!! Especially during Devon’s dream!! I damn near THREW my kindle…and then when he WOKE UP…. I had to take a lap around my kitchen because of the tears I was shedding and the frustration I felt for said precious tears that were shed for a dream death!! Ugghhhh….but I LOVED this book!! And am so honored that I got a chance to be a part of the ARC readers!!! 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this book so much. Grumpy Devon, happy go lucky Rhea were a true match, two broken souls that fate brought together. Devons back story was heartgribbing, i had a consistent lump in the back of my throat whilst reading. The writing style was fun to read and really easy to follow. The plot was nicely paced and full of tension, angst, spice, and some twists that really get you. But that ended was gribbing...
This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone.
Absolutely loved the development of the relationship with Devon and Rhea.
There are twist and turns in the book and things happen that you didn’t see coming. I have tried a time or two reading this book but would absolutely 100% recommend reading this book hoping that ever and Blake also get their own book.
Welp. I didn’t expect that to happen. To say I didn’t anticipate some of the twists and turns would be an understatement! This is such a good read and if I could give it higher than 5 stars I would. The amount of detail put into the character development is so clear and really helps build the story! This book has a good pace and enough surprises to keep you wanting more!
