In Mission Target, book 7 in the Jake Wolfe thriller series, charismatic operative, Jake Wolfe and his trusty canine companion, Cody embarks on another heart pumping mission. This time around they face the task of taking down a ruthless global organization that's threatening the lives of the American population. Prepare for pulse pounding action as Jake navigates a twisted web of crimes, secret and lies. Mission Target delivers another adrenaline-fueled escapade with the fearless duo of man and canine designed to leave the reader breathless and wanting more.
I have enjoyed every book in this series, and Mission Target was no exception. Although it was not as explosive as the previous installments, it delivered an action-packed and suspenseful punch.
In this installment, Jake learns of a new drug that a crazed criminal currently uses as a weapon in a bid to destroy the US population. Jake is determined to stop him, but to do so means taking down the small man. Added to that someone is attacking women who bear an uncanny resemblance to his girlfriend, Sara. Also, someone wants him and his faithful companion dead.
If you decide to embark on this journey with Jake and Cody, prepare for a ride filled with suspense and non-stop action. Fast paced and filled twists and turns, Mission Target will have readers turning the pages. It will have reader eager to know what lies on the horizon for Jake, Cody and Sara. Jake and Sara's relationship has gotten stronger. I found Jake's loyalty to Sara endearing. Women are always throwing at him, but his loyalty to Sara never wavered. Cody is as protective as ever and he continues to shine. The secondary characters added depth as usual and helped to enhance the reading experience.
In Mission Target, the seventh book in this incredible series, Mark Nolan has done it again. Jake and his dog Cody are kept quite busy in this one as they are hot on the trail of drug dealers who are supplying a deadly product. As if that is not enough, someone is murdering the lookalikes of his girlfriend Sarah, and of course someone is trying to kill him and his lovable fur baby. An interesting setting, vivid detailing, and a well-spun story that grabs you from the beginning and keeps on building to the end add to an incredible nail-biter. This fast-paced thriller keeps the action flowing throughout in this roller-coaster ride of a lifetime. If you like thrillers, dogs, and heroes, this book is for you. I look forward to the next book by this master storyteller. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I absolutely love this series. I am so glad there is more Jake and Cody my favourite pair. Mission Target is the seventh epic tale in the Jake Wolfe series and not to be missed. You really do need to read he books in order to appreciate this pair and understand everything that has happened to bring the characters where they are today. Mark is a master at cleverly weaving together a thrilling story that never leaves you wanting. He is a dynamic storyteller, and he packs a punch with his vivid vision and portrayal of fully developed characters and never-ending action. This gripping tale is a rollercoaster of a ride with lots of twists and turns you don’t see coming. It is a suspenseful thriller that is so engrossing that the end is upon you before you know it. As much as there is action galore and lots of suspense and tension that is palpable, it is also fun and humorous, and I was laughing out loud. The characters are well developed, fully realised and definitely flawed. Jake and his best friend Cody crack me up they are completely unique characters. Whenever these two are on a case there is mayhem and madness. The story is told in the third person POV of several characters. Telling a story this way I love as it makes the story even more dynamic and make them so much more real. Jake a covert operative will do everything in his power to keep the enemy winning but this time he maybe way out of his wheelhouse as he faces an enemy like no other. This fast-paced read is completely enthralling, and I read it in one sitting because it is so good that you don’t want to waste a minute in finding out what is going on. With threats, a twisted maze of crimes, secrets, lies, and murders and a life-or-death battle and a ruthless global criminal organization Mark caters to every thriller lover.
This is #7 in the series.I’ve read them all and I enjoy everything about this character! In the past books, Jake and Cody were in scary life or death situations. As I started this book, I hoped nothing would happen to either of them. I don’t mind intrigue but I don’t want the characters to be maimed for life or lose their life! thankfully, the author did put Jake and Cody in perilous situations but they both survived. That Denton character came up in this book and I’m glad she will no longer be in the series. She was a sick scary character who wanted to end both Jake and Cody’s life. Also the Sarah’s stalker will no longer be in the series. This book has a lot of action, as usual and Cody has a major role. There are hints for book #8 and I can’t wait!
I loved everything about this book. Mark Nolan has done a magnificent job with a well thought out and tense story. The plot was riveting, and very edgy, with some great characters. I really enjoy the Authors easy and fluid writing style. It’s very easy to get lost amongst the pages for many wonderful hours of reading. Jake and Cody work so well together, and they have such an amazing bond. A great read from start to finish. 5/5 Star Rating.
This series continues to be interesting and exciting. I love reading about Jake and Cody's exploits and glad that Sarah is becoming an asset to the Team!
It seems as if I waited a long time for Book 7, Mission Target” to come out. This is another thriller from Mark Nolan, and the wait was worth it. If you are unfamiliar with this author’s books, the main characters are Jake, a Marine, and his dog Cody, a retired war-time dog with PTSD. Actually, both Jake and Cody have their own PTSD problems. They are so dependent on one another it would be difficult to determine who needs who the most. Cody and his person, Jake, are in the top 5 of my favorite fiction characters. I’ve said before if I had to make a choice between Jake or Cody it would be very difficult. Ok, ok, Cody might win:)
This story begins with Jake having been a bad boy. Sometimes, no matter how many lives have been saved, our heroes are still removed from their posts for taking matters into their own hands. To me there is often a very fine line in determining what is the “right thing to do”. Some of Jake’s commanding officers think his banishment might have been made too swiftly or too harshly. They also determine they need his skills enough to justify giving him orders and a US Marshall’s badge to carry them out.
I think the actual plot of this book might be the best of the series so far. There were more sideline characters, the plot seemed to be a little trickier, the whole story had more depth. What was an order to track down the people bringing dangerous drugs into the country became a story with more layers and more intrigue. I mentioned more characters previously. This is the first time we have heard of so many new people interacting with Jake and Cody. It was this picture that made the story become family-like, even more team-like. Many people worked behind the scenes yet had an important part in an endeavor to save many lives.
Each of Nolan’s books can stand alone. If you haven’t read all of them (shame on you), you might not be familiar with Jake’s personal life. He has a close relationship with a veterinarian named Sarah. They seem very much in love, but we don’t hear much about her this time. Are they heading for a break-up? Wonder what Nolan has in mind for Cody’s person? As we all know…authors play with our minds now and then. Hope he hurries up with book 8 so we can know what’s ahead for Jake and Cody.
Mission Target is the newest addition (Book #7) to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is another incredibly clever, intensely gripping, and suspenseful read. Mr. Nolan has come up with yet more heart-pounding situations for Jake and Cody to deal with – weaving a riveting adventure with a complex, multi-layered storyline that’s packed full of action, danger, tension, drama, intrigue, humour, mystery, murder, crime and investigation, covert ops, military/agency/police procedure, assassins, banter, secrets, corruption, greed, violence, a deadly drug, a dangerous international drug network with sinister intent, excitement, twists, high-sea escapades, and much more. We once again we team up with former marine turned lawyer and covert operative Jake Wolfe, and his trusty companion, Cody, the highly intelligent, and loyal ex-war dog- who really is the smartest dog you’ll ever meet. Following along as all the excitement unfolds. When a deadly drug starts leaving bodies in its wake, Jake’s mission becomes cutting the head off the snake, stop the supply, trace the source, and eliminate the threat. This proves to be a bit more complicated when he becomes a target himself. Add a deranged serial killer, corruption, greed, danger, and high stakes- and the story becomes quite the adrenaline-fuelled ride. It is a fast-paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. This series just gets better and more addictive with each new release. I know I keep saying this, but I really can’t get enough of this series- and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of joining Jake and Cody on one of their exciting ‘adventures’- so I really hope there are plenty more stories still to come. The next book can’t come soon enough for me!
This is the 7th book in the Jake Wolfe series. I read the first book ‘Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie’ before I read this one and I was somewhat lost. In order to really know everyone, I would suggest reading all the books in order. I kind of thought that it could be stand alone which, I mean technically it could. The author writes in vivid detail so even though I clearly missed a lot throughout books 2-6, I was able to catch on after a bit of reading. The author's writing came a long way from book 1 of the series. This book seemed to flow more easily and had a lot less filler. Plus the characters are written in more detail. I honestly did not like the way the author wrote female characters in the first book of the series but in this book, the females are written differently. Although they all seem to be eye candy, they have more personality traits written which makes a redemption of the author in my books.
Jake is a sought out Mr. Fix-it when it comes to taking out threats on the country. Him and his very smart dog, Cody, work together to do what has to be done to make the streets safe. This time there is a drug threat, wiping out a chunk of the population. Horse Tranquilizer mixed with fentanyl causing deadly overdoses all over. Jake is trying to stop the supplier from smuggling it into the States but the problem is finding out who the king pin is. Once again, himself and Cody are at the top of someones kill list.
On top of that, he finds a dead body of a woman who looks eerily similar to his girlfriend, Sarah. She starts receiving threats and Jake takes it upon himself to try to protect her while carrying out his very long to-do list. Everyone is in danger and it’s up to Jake to rescue them all, including himself.
With a lot of action, unpredictable twists and turns, and an adorable intelligent dog, you will not be able to put this book down.
Hello Book Lovers, I am back again with another thrilling book!
I'm so excited to share the latest book by Mark Nolan, one of my favorite authors! It's called 'Mission Target,' a thrilling spy novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Mark Nolan has a knack for creating realistic, engaging characters and crafting intricate and suspenseful plots. If you love action, adventure, and espionage, you won't want to miss this one!
'Mission Target' is book seven in the Jake Wolf series, and Jake and Cody are really in deep this time. Jake has found out that a new drug is being used as a weapon against all of the US citizens by a madman who is out to destroy the US in his own personal war. Jake is a man on a mission to stop him but is stunned when he realizes those who are involved in this threat against Americans and the innocents who have no knowledge of what is going on. Jake has tried to step away from his secret life in the past, but it is not in him to let something like this destroy the freedom so many have fought for. So here he is again, putting his life on the line, becoming the target to protect them.
What did I like? What is there not to like about a book with all the essential elements that will keep my nose buried to the last page: Thrilling, exciting, death-defying, superb characters, romance, humor, and one of the most intelligent animals known to man, Cody!
If you are ready for another fantastic read that will make you lose sleep, pick up your copy today of 'Mission Target' and keep the midnight oil burning bright! You definitely won't be sorry!
Jake is on another covert mission, this time trying to help stop a deadly drug ending up on the streets but when he discovers a beautiful girl on a beach and with similar resemblance to Sarah his girlfriend the case deepens and become dangerous for not just Jake but his friend and family.
As more and more is discovered and they are reaching the top of the tree can Jake keep himself, Cody his dog and everyone from the crosshairs of the gang. you will have to read to find out.
This is a great series and although I have read a few books and not all it does detract from story, these books can be read as stand alone and are well written and the story is developed brilliantly. The twists and turns have you on the end of whatever you are sitting on and will have you guessing till the end.
The character of Jake seems rough and ready but in the story you see the loyalty he shows not only to his partner, Cody his K-9 dog but to all the important people in his life and appreciates the struggles most people have. I always love a flawed hero and Jake is that with his PTSD from the marines playing a part in his daily struggles. Sarah was a great counter to Jake's character and the love they show for each other was there on the page.
This is full of twists and turns and offers a sight into the underworld of drugs and gangs but I could not put the story down. Can't wait to read the next book in this series and will go back and read the ones I haven't, I forgot what a great thriller these books are.
Jake and Cody rule. There are just no two ways about it. They are classy and fun.
So much has happened since my last Jake and Cody thrill ride. Cody has puppies!! No surprise that they are super smart and helpers, just like Cody. Okay, I digress.
While enjoying some time off in the Florida Keys, Jake is contacted by his Secret Service contact about needing Jake for a job. It is during this job that Jake finds out about a new weapon being used against citizens of the US, a new drug that is deadly and being used to taint the drug supply. This new lethal combination is causing havoc throughout the drug trade, even in-fight within the cartels.
Jake and Cody have been tasked with taking down as many of the traffickers that they can find to stop or at least stem the tide of this new drug entering the US. As Jake and Cody do their thing, it paints a large bullseye on not only them but friends and family. Jake and Cody must work within the law to keep everyone safe, especially themselves.
The action in this book does not stop. Whether it is guns blazing or Jake and Cody saving senior citizens from bullies on the beach, Jake and Cody are in constant motion. The author does not fail to entertain or keep you guessing. There are a few surprises sprinkled throughout.
Here is to Jake and Cody saving the world (or at least some part of it) again and again!!! Fantastic read.
Jake and his dog Cody receive a high-value target request from Washington. He is to eliminate a foreign agent who can cause irreparable harm to the intelligence community of the United States.
War is fought on many fronts including signal intelligence, electrical intelligence, and clandestine operations. Profit is the motive and the fools who take the drugs are incidental casualties of the operation.
Stopping drug smuggling, however, is very difficult. The criminals are highly sophisticated and well-versed in their line of work. Jake and his “devil dog” Cody are in constant danger because the bad guys are aware of their identities.
Dr. Sarah, a veterinarian who is Jake’s woman, agrees to spend a few days with Jake and Cody off the coast of Sausalito, California but their nautical sojourn turns into a nightmare.
I am a fan of Nolan’s books and this one does not disappoint. There are times though that my imagination is stretched because some of the situations would have required a security classification from the government. These scenarios, however, add a spice to these books. 5 stars – CE Williams
Many thanks to the author for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book. These are my own opinions.
This is the 7th book in the Jack Wolfe series. I have loved everyone of these books and I am amazed at how the author keeps creating stories that are different with different threats but still gripping, full of twists and turns and danger.
Jack is an amazing character and over the series I have really fallen for him and his ex- war dog Cody. Together they have faced some dangerous situations and this one is no different.
When a dangerous drug starts making its presents felt in the form of dead bodies, Jake is contact to put a stop to it. All he needs to do is eliminate the big boss, which will stop the supply and elimate the drug. Should be simple right. However, that is never the case with Jake's missions and as he tries to destroy this new enemy harming the American people he also puts himself in a position with a target on his back yet again. This is a story of corruption, greed, danger, and a serial killer who is very deranged which leads to fast paced, action packed story where it is a race against time for Jake to destroy the enemy before the enemy destroys him. This book is an edge of your seat read that you will not be able to put down. I actually read it in one sitting as I couldn't stop turning pages. I love this author's work and am always left gasping for air at the end of the books and this one left me feeling exactly the same.
I was sucked into Mission Target immediately. The author has a way of pulling you in and keeping the reader intrigued. I didn’t want to put the book down, I only did because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. The only one more chapter game didn’t win the battle.. lol Jake and his dog Cody have been contracted to rid the world of evil. And this instance is by the secret service to bring down a drug lord that has a secret vendetta against the United States. Jake, a former marine, doesn't mind taking care of tasks off the book, if for the better good. Unfortunately it lands a target on his back because he’s put a dent in this deadly vendetta operation. Fortunately for Jake he doesn't just have law enforcement behind him but the Italian mafia as well. Will he succeed in getting tranq off the streets? The author takes the reader on a journey through many crimes and incidents. All of which in the end seem to be related. It seemed like a lot at first but as the story gains steam everything shifts into place, giving the reader the “I want to know what happens next feeling.” This is the first book I’ve read in this series, so I’m looking forward to going back and digging into the other ones. Also other potential books by this author as well. While I do that, you should read this!
Mission Target by Mark Nolan is a nail-biter of a book!!!!
Jake is summoned to take care of a target that is putting America at risk! The weapon is a powerful new drug that is killing people, and there is no antidote to save peoples’ lives like with opioids. Now, it’s up to Jake and his faithful dog, Cody, to stop the threat before it’s too late!!!
This book is a part of a series, and I haven’t read the prior books, but I don’t think it hampered my understanding of the characters or the plot. It was a well-written book, and the pacing was very rapid with many twists, turns, and surprises. I am a dog lover myself and a mom to two fur babies so I loved the relationship between Jake and Cody!
One of my favorite parts of the book was the author, Mark Nolan’s, notes at the end to his readers. While the book itself and the things occurring were scary, what is more scary is the fact that some of the instances that happened in the book are based in reality, most notably the drug, Tranq, which is killing people. The things noted in that section were mind-blowing and made me think more deeply about things happening in our society.
If you are looking for a lovable dog and a fast-paced thriller, give this book and the series a try!!! I don’t think you will be disappointed!!!!
Mission Target by Mark Nolan Adrenaline junkies start your engines. Nolan packs more action per page than that demented bag “boy/person” at your local grocery store squeezes into your canvas shopping bag. Jake Wolfe and Cody the wonder dog are back and once again in the thick of breaking skulls and burning boats. A flood of a new drug is threating San Franciso and Cody, oh and Jake, are out to stop it. If you can’t handle Old Testament justice, don’t pick up this book. Jake brooks no fools and is a strong believer of the double tap to the head. Amidst the narco-terrorists is a former cop dead set on doing dirty deeds to Cody and Jake. Badass behavior is believable, along with hyper intelligent dogs, the unbelievable part is the impact Jake seems to have on every woman he encounters. Although I do have a male relative that was seemingly irresistible in his college years so maybe that isn’t the unbelievable part of the book. I enjoy the karma aspects of the book along with the action. I did feel that Cody got a bit short-changed in this volume. Considering he is the brains of the operation, I thought he should have gotten more page time. A good action adventure that I recommend. Oh, I'm a little disappointed Cody didn't make the cover.
Mission Target is the seventh in the Jack Wolfe Thrillers series, although each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. Jack, and his highly trained dog Cody, have been called on to help eliminate a vast terror threat facing the US. Jack also faces personal threats that put those he loves in danger.
Jack and Cody are a great team, taking care of each other and combining their skills to great effect. I also really like Sarah, Jack’s partner, who can keep a cool head in a crisis and shares Jack’s affection for animals. This is really a great series for readers who love animals and thrillers!
There’s plenty of detail around each action scene or stunt that takes place. I’m a particular fan of the ones where we find out afterwards important details that made things work out, a reminder of the careful planning going on behind the scenes (and Jack’s tendency to throw that out the window and improvise!).
I’ve enjoyed other Jack Wolfe books I’ve read before and this continues the trend of gripping, intriguing thrillers with plenty of humour and lightness for balance. It gets five stars from me!
Mission Target (Jake Wolfe Thrillers Book 7) by Mark Nolan. This is another exciting addition to the Jack Wolfe Thriller series and can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better feel for the characters. I have loved this series so much its probably my favorite I've read this year. Jack and Cody, his 4 legged companion are in the and both suffer from PTSD. Jack sometimes does things that might be considered illegal but he only does it to save someone or fix something. Jack has found out there is a new drug being used as a weapon against all US Citizens and if Jack doesn't find out who it is and stop him it will wipe out the US. When women that look like Jack's girlfriend start showing up dead it becomes personal and he will go covert to save her. The messes Jack and Cody get in are so good and so bad at the same time. I love the writing because I always feel like I'm there in the story. These are the kind of books that you will think about long after you have finished. Grab a hold of your seat and read this amazing series. You won't be disappointed! I hope there is another one!
While this is a good book I just didn't love it as much as the previous stories. I hate to say this but it really seemed like non stop action(usually a good thing right?). He literally ends one and gets a call to go to another location for another assignment. I mean very little down time to spend time relaxing. There are too many govt agencies initials and explanations thrown at us for every little thing. I ended up just skimming those. Last issue was the girls. I am sure he is a hottie and has that great dog but not every woman he comes in contact with is after him(sexually) especially after stating he has a girlfriend and they know her. What Agent Green did..just weird…possible future stalker. Anyhow I enjoyed seeing all the characters and meeting new ones. We get to see a whole gambit of people from Mafia to secret service. Watching Cody “work” and figure things out plus Jake..he is one smart cookie. As always I look forward to reading these stories. This one really took us on a journey from the first incident to the last. The author did a good job winding it all together.
Mission Target is book seven in the Jake Wolfe Thriller series. I do recommend reading the previous books in the series just to get better character development but it can also be a standalone. Jake and Cody are back at it again, with more adventures, action, danger, and violence. Mission Target deals with drugs, and the aftermath of them. Jake and Cody must try to find the source of the drug war to end it before more people are affected, or killed. That is, until Jake becomes a target himself. If there is ever a person that can attract all the danger, it is Jake. This one is full of twists and turns and when you think you got it figured out, more information is released. I liked this one more than the previous ones but still way too unbelievable for me to get fully immersed into the story. I absolutely LOVE Cody and his intelligence and loyalty, so if there are any more adventures planned for Jake and Cody, I will definitely read them. Overall I would say this series is a solid 4 star, for me, but don't allow that to deter you as it is a fun storyline with a lot in each book.
This is the seventh book in this series and each book gets better and better. This book can be read as a standalone but it is my advice to read all of them because they are all great reads that you don't want to miss out on. This book is full of action, drama, mystery, suspense, murder, great characters, twists and turns. There were times while reading when I thought I knew what was going to happen next and then I was thrown for a loop. I found myself immersed in some nail biting moments. Jake and Cody seem to attract trouble like a magnet, luckily for Jake he can always count on his loyal smart k-9 Cody. There were many layers to this story but I didn't have any trouble keeping up with the story line. The author knows how to keep me turning pages with an intriguing and entertaining book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading what this author has in store for us next.
Mission target is the 7th book in the Jake Wolf series, but you don't have to read them all, or in order. Within the first couple pages, Jake and Cody and their jobs and history are already laid out and summarized. This book follows Jake and Cody as they hunt down terrorists who are importing drugs, with the plan to kill millions of Americans. Like the other books, there is added fluff around the other characters to round out the story. Sarah experiences a little bit of drama and threat in this story, which built on her character. Jake's "cousin" makes several appearances and has an ongoing support role, and the CIA agents are developed a bit more in this story. I'm not sure how much is accurate with regards to the police/CIA work processes, and the trial... but it was a good read. I like the section the author added at the end, summarizing his research that went into the book. I always enjoy this series, but am glad each one wraps up and doesn't end in a cliffhanger.
I'm so happy there is a book 7 and hoping for many more. It is up to Jake and Cody along with his associates to find out where the new deadly drug is coming from and stop it before many more people are killed by using it. As usual with this series, there are lots of twists and turns. And as Mark Nolan writes in the Dear Reader in the back of each book, he describes what is real and not real in the books including high tech equipment and people. His books are well researched and full of detail along with being very entertaining and suspenseful. Sarah doesn't get mentioned much, but they do take another step closer by moving in together. I wish Cody had a voice along with some humorous observations about his human handler as he did in the first couple books. Looking forward to the next book whenever it is available. I received an ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing it along with slowly purchasing the books for my library.
I’ve done myself a huge injustice ! I’ve not read all the books prior to this and I feel like I robbed myself 😢 so take it from me and start st the beginning not because I felt lost or confused but purely because it’s been such a good read 🥰📚
Drugs on a good day are bad news but when they’re being used as a weapon we’ve got serious trouble on our hands but Jake and Cody 🐾 are a team one shouldn’t underestimate 😉
I was quite worried and fearful at a stage because Jake was getting closer to answers and that means there’s a target on his back and both have their own issues to deal with yet they kept their cool . I love their relationship and dependence on each other , bonds between man and animal are so much tighter than that of human to human , animals are fearless and loyal but Cody is a kind and gentle character🐾
A mail biting edge of my seat read and again I just want to say start at the beginning 😉❣️📚
This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the seventh book in this series which is just as great as the previous books in this series. I enjoy this author’s writing skills and attention to details to make the story realistic. This is a story that is well written and hard to put down. Jake is back in another mystery that turns into a race against time. When he tries to leave his past behind but he finds himself thrown back into it. I enjoyed his character and all that he brings to the story. He kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout that made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story that I really enjoyed. This is one of my favorites yet. I highly recommend this book.
Mission Target is the 7th book in the Jake Wolfe Thrillers series by Mark Nolan. I liked a lot of things about this book. Mostly being the main two characters Jake and Cody, the relationship that the author builds between the protagonist and his K-9 is really good. I also liked the storyline, although I did feel it was a bit busy at times with lots of different storylines happening at the same time, it could get a bit confusing. The story follows marine veteran/volunteer officer/lawyer Jake as he works with all aspects of law enforcement to help take down the organised crime that is flooding San Francisco with drugs. This is a very fast paced story with lots of different elements, which I am pleased all came together at the end. This is the first book I have read of this series, I would be interested in reading more.
What a wonderful crime solving book this one was. Seriously finished in a day because I could not put it down. I love how the author makes you feel like you are watching this all play out as though it was a movie.
Jake is a former Marine that has a beloved K9 Cody that helps keep America safe! Jake and Cody are tasked with finding and stopping the distribution of a drug that will cause devastation in mass numbers.
All the while his girl friend Sarah is fighting her own battle as well. Along with some of his close “familia”. The question remains will Jake be able to solve this puzzle before it’s too late or can he stop the destruction from becoming worse?
This is not my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. I love the way it’s written with the military aspect still heavily in there. I look forward to more from this author!
Mission Target is the seventh book in this incredible series. I enjoyed the canine soldier aspect of this novel. Cody is truly an amazing character! There is an exciting balance of serious and deadly situations with plenty of action, a little romance, and a hero who is true to his duty to America. While I don't understand the call of duty for our hero, I appreciate seeing through Jake's eyes what makes him feel that obligation. There is plenty of action, mystery and danger to keep you on the edge of your seat. The books in this series do good on their own, but it's interesting to see these characters develop as each story progresses. I've read other books by this author and each one is an exciting thriller!
