"Hormone Havoc! empowers individuals to take charge of their health journey by becoming their own hormone advocates. Like the author herself, the book catalyzes positive change, inspiring readers to make informed decisions and take proactive steps towards a life of vitality by saying "no" to a system that, through fear, misunderstanding, and misrepresentation, has led us down the road of low hormone complacency.
As an outside-of-the-box neurologist who embraces brain health through hormone optimization, I will make this book essential reading for my patients whose greatest desire is to restore the health in healthcare."

This was recommended to me by a fellow school librarian, as we are all navigating pre- or peri- or post-menopause stages. I really enjoyed the first chapters about the specific hormones and how they can affect your overall health. I didn't enjoy the second half as much. It was more anecdotal, a little repetitive, more like a sales pitch. (Oddly, the second half also had noticeable errors in the writing that should have been corrected in editing. It is definitely less polished.) I did make a reminder in my phone to call my local women's health climic to get my hormone levels checked, so that counts for something!
What an incredible book! Dr. Terri DeNeui wrote a very detailed and comprehensive book regarding hormones and the effect they have on us, whether woman or man. She's done her research. Further, her offices are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, putting into practice exactly what is "preached" in her book. I am especially happy to hear the myths previously surrounded hormone replacement therapy dispelled in a clear, concise way. Bravo! A must-read for anyone wondering what their "symptoms" are from and how come they still don't have a diagnosis.
