Definitely a step down in the series, which is too bad, cause i was on the fence about continuing it before, and now i don't think i will.
First off, if you have a fleet of refugees in need of food and water for a long trip, why can't you just make a quick trip to the homeworld you JUST evacuated to pick up some extra supplies, especially since the world is untouched, the fleet threatening it was annihilated, and further danger is not imminent. Just didn't make too much sense taking off when you weren't even sure how much of a threat the other Zargoni factions would be.
And Sapphire saying they needed more big battleships cause MC had a target on his back now for killing a Prime, and the Zargoni were wise to the tricks he pulled to win against that first faction. How the hell do the other Zargoni factions know about MC and his strategies when that entire fleet he was fighting was wiped out with no survivors? What do they have remote viewing powers? They weren't even in system.
And another thing, when MC and co. were fleeing the pirate world at the end, and called in the Harvester queen who immediately showed up and destroyed that world, HOW the hell did they manage that? Like how did they coordinate her arrival with the exact time they finished their mission and were peacing out? Are you kidding me?
And hey, Nick Noble, a person can't be part cyborg. They are either a cyborg or they are not. Look up the definition. smh
And when Jasmine says not many girls can claim to have slept with a terran, and she wants to be one of them, MC thinks to himself 'only six girls can make that claim'. Wtf Rod, have you forgotten your ex-wife who is still alive and living on your ship? She's banged you plenty of times in the past, so she counts too. Dumbass.
And finally, the author was really hitting me in the head over and over with the whole 'mia and rod love each other but can't be intimate cause she doesn't have a body' bullshit this book. Like over and over again that subplot was rearing its fucking head when it wasn't really dealt with at all in the previous books. enough already.

Just getting started!
"No battle plan survives first contract." That is true in any sense of the word. You have been able to dig into the mindset of a lot of veterans. I don't think it's going to stop readers. This is a good story and you should keep it going.

An absolutely awesome series!!!!
An exceptional adult science fiction adventure!!! I love the unique races that the MC comes across in his adventures after his extremely long nap lol!!! I'm definitely looking forward to more in this universe from this author!!!

These books are pulp, and happily so. They shouldn't be taken too seriously, I mean the MC's (self-adopted) name is Rod Quasar, and the basis of the story is uncontrollable Terran pheromones which led to our virtual extinction at the hands of the broader galaxy.
It's an entertaining series to date, and I've enjoyed it so far. Looks like it's not done yet, so I look forward to more improbable shenanigans from 700K years in the future.
