Amanda Bentley loves escaping into fictional worlds through reading and writing. A typical Pisces, she’s as much a mood writer as she is a mood reader. She likes her book boyfriends morally grey, but she’ll read any book with romance (preferably drenched in spice and angst).
When she’s not writing, you might find her chasing her wild toddler, or on stage, performing improv with her husband. She’s a creative, free spirit, and while she loves a fun adventure, there’s no place like her bed with a book.
A quick and steamy read! I actually read this in less than an hour. A Christmas novella with a forbidden romance and age gap that definitely had me wanting for more.
We love a good professor x student trope, but it’s even better when the student tells the professor that she’ll be with him for an A+ as her final grade, and he also agrees to that! He teaches her quite a lot, and she savors every second of it, and so does he!
This was such a fun Novella for a holiday read. Not too cringe to read which was nice. Although this did make me wonder what would happen next with Christina and her former professor in the year to follow. Oh well it’s a fun thought to have.
Meh. I'm not into the "daddy" talk during sexy times, so that was a major turn off for me personally. But I'm not knocking any stars off for that. The novella was fine, I like the Professor/Student thing. The end was nauseating...Bruce? Vomit.
This novella with Christina and her Professor was just enough to get your mind going. It had just enough steam to leave you craving more.
When Christina realizes that even acing her final exam, still would only land her a B+ in Mr. Evergreens class, she quickly realizes she is willing to do anything to get that "A."
Professor Evergreen has that Grinch-like demeanor and is always so cold hearted and closed off. Still, it doesn't stop the girls from drooling all over him. So, when Christina comes up and asks for extra credit, he loved nothing more than dashing her hopes and dreams and telling her, there is absolutely no extra credit given. When Christina shouts, "I'll sleep with you," as a last-minute attempt to get that "A," she never thought about what would happen next.
"I'm giving you one chance to change your mind, Miss Harrison...Or you'll find out exactly why they call me the mean one."
I enjoyed the storyline and was disappointed it was such a short novella. I wanted more and Professor Evergreen was all sorts of Alpha mystery I desperately needed more of.
"...the product is my A, and the payment is my body."
*Overall 4/5 *Heat? Slow Burn *First person POV (Christina only) *Ends on HEA
I wanted to like this novella. Steamy professor and student holiday novella what could go wrong?! A lot apparently. The story is really abrupt. I gave it a 2 🌶️ because the only smut scene is described but it’s pretty vanilla except tying her hands. And there’s only one scene in the whole book. It’s a forbidden romance I had hoped for more for Smutmas.
The one thing I did enjoy was the ending. Made me think there’s a book to follow. Although that also left me wondering what’s next like a cliffhanger. But I would entertain a book after this. I want to hear more.
forbidden romance, professor/student, age gap
One quote I enjoyed:
“Good little girl,” he says. “I’m not much of a giver, but if you please me, I might change my mind.” ~Professor Evergreen
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Professor/student is one of my all time favorite tropes. I loved this novella from start to finish👏🏻👏🏻I absolutely loved Christina’s relationship with her friend Sophie. Their interactions were so fun! I’m a big fan of a grumpy MMC and the professor was exactly that. The way Christina was with him had me smiling and I couldn’t help but love the guy. The moment this novella ended I wanted more 😭 I even yelled “Nooooo” because I didn’t want to let these characters go. Very well done Amanda Bentley!!!!
It was pretty good. I didn't like how even though the heroine wasn't a virgin, she only had 2 bad sexual experiences. I think that the story would've been fine without that. I just don't understand why heroine has to be virgin or only to have bad sexual experiences. Especially in novellas. The other thing that was annoying was how many times it was said that she was his student and he her professor. I understand the point, making it taboo and dirty, but it doesn't have to be repeated every chapter. In conclusion, it was a fun book and I may try something else by this author.
I absolutely loved this story! I hope I can find more on them! This is a hot and steamy read! Christina needed a little push for her grade and approached her hot as hell teacher for ‘extra credit’. What she didn’t expect was her Professor to open up new doors that she isn’t ready to close again. This small age gap romance is spicy and sweet! This is my first book by Amanda Bentley and it definitely won’t be my last!
I’m a sucker for a forbidden age gap, and this book didn’t disappoint! Christina, feeling the pressure from her family to be perfect, is only getting a B+ in her English class. When denied the option for extra credit by her Grinch professor, Mr Evergreen, Christina offers the only thing she has left. Herself.
This was a fun, spicy novella. I wish we got a little more about Professor Evergreen. I had a hard time picturing him, or getting any of his personality, more than being a grinch. I’d be really interested in reading more about these characters!
How The Grinch Saved Christina is a great way to kick off the Twelve Days of Smutmas Novella series. Definitely worth the read!
*Forbidden Romance *Age Gap *Student/Professor *Grumpy/Sunshine *Inexperience FMC
Raise your hand if you wished you had banged a professor in college (my hand is up and yours should be too you little liar). This tugged on that elusive fantasy we all know and love with a delicious holiday twist and was really fun. No fuss type of scenario which we can all get down for.
This is a professor student, inexperienced, Daddy Smink, let me do it for the A+, tie me up! It was a short read but really good, with good spice. If you’re looking for a quick holiday read this is 100% worth the read! Also this author has a duet that is basically a Christmas duet as well with Christmas lights!
“I’m giving you one chance to change your mind, Miss Harrison,” he growls. “Or you’ll find out exactly why they call me the mean one.” Yes pleasssee. I definitely found out and you should too 🥵 This fast paced , age gap, smutmas romance is exactly what I told Santa I wanted. After reading this I’m definitely on the naughty list 🫣👀🥵
Woah, what a novella! I read this so fast! I am usually not one for novellas but I had to Pick up all 12 of these novellas and the first one didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to read the rest of this series of books!
If you like short, straight to the point, smutty books (novellas even) with a dash of forbiddenness (teacher/student) and daddy kink this read just might be for you. And it takes place during Christmas ho- ho-ho 🎅
Not grinch 🌽 like the name may lead you to believe. It’s student/professor and he’s only called the grinch because he’s grumpy and rude. Age gap, spicy!!!!!!!!! It was actually good. A super quick read that’s not too Christmasy.
So, I started to read this series 12 Days of SMUTMAS, and I was hooked. This was my first by this author and I cannot wait for more, instant 5-star read for me. Christina is a student, and her teacher is the Grinch. This was my first student-teacher romance, and I am here for all of it. Christina's parents want her to be perfect they want her to be a doctor just like them and get straight A's. She slowly starts to realize she is not going to get the grade she needs to impress her parents, so she decides to give her Grinch of a teacher a proposition. She instantly regrets opening her mouth until he texts her. Not only did he save her grade he saved her career/family life!
Loved this little novella. I would love to see more from these two characters. Taking into consideration that it’s not a full length work, I think this one gave me everything I could want in a shorter story. There was plot, there was spice, and I loved it
I was sold until he revealed his name was Bruce. Just killed my vibe. It's a steamy professor/student novella. More smut than story. Which is sometimes totally my jam. But if you like plot, this is not for you.
