I thoroughly enjoyed these books. The loved all the characters. They came alive during the telling of the stories. I enjoyed seeing their personalities develop through each of the books. Anyone who wants to read a good story will enjoy this collection.
I only gave this series a rating of three because, while the stories are interesting enough to read through all 12, the author doesn't seem to know much about modern forensic technology, making the main character's interaction with local police somewhat ludicrous. Also, the editing is not very good, with one of the main character's name misspelled no less than 15 times. Despite that, I did enjoy the different unique characters and the story lines. They were quite entertaining.
I ordinarily love cosy mysteries but these just didn't speak to me. I finished the first one and started the second but decided they weren't getting anymore realistic or interesting. No problem with the books, just not my cup of tea this time around.
This story of Darla’s Delectables Food Trucks Books 1-12 was an amazing series. Susan Harper is a magical author who started with Darla starting with one truck. In the last book she had seven. This series had twists and turns regarding Darla being an amateur sleuth and an entrepreneur all wrapped up in one. Not only did she solve mysteries but she found out amazing things about her family and friends. This is one of my favorite series. Once you read the first one , you will have to finish the whole series. Happy reading💘
SUSAN HARPER IS THE AUTHOR OF DARLA'S DELECTABLES FOOD TRUCK COZY MYSTERY. DARLA IS THE OWNER OF A RESTAURANT ON WHEELS AND SELLS DINNER TO HER FRIENDS AT THE FAIR. THIS WAS AN EXCITING NOVEL TO READ ABOUT FRIENDSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORK OUT FOR A COMPETING SALESWOMAN. THIS IS INSPITE OF THE ONGOING DISAPPEARANCES OF DARLA'S FRIENDS INCLUDING FAMILY WHEN DARLA'S BOYFRIEND CALEB PICKS HER UP FOR A DATE. AT LEAST THERE IS A DINNER AND A FAIR TO CHEER EVERYONE UP.
Darla Jones dropped out of Harvard law and bought a food truck. In each of the 12 books she solves the murder. These were good and I wish there were more. I was disappointed when I found out there was not another book. I’m going to check out more books by Susan Harper
Loved the Series, though I definitely didn't want it to end! Darla buys her first food truck with the help of India, an eccentric lady in her 70s who invests heavily in her new business! Darla helps solve her first murder & each time one happens, she figures out more clues than the police! A great read but I would love to see more books of her adventures!
The stories are great. However, there are some inconsistencies from book to book that cause confusion. Additionally, I noticed some missing commas and misused terms, such as talking about the green of the golf course rather than the course itself. Such things probably won't even be noticed by the average reader. I'm just a knee-jerk editot.
I loved how Darla was going about solving the mysterious problems that kept happening throughout the 12 books. What was unnerving was her father's actions during the story. I couldn't believe he could callously treat his daughters the way he did.
Loved this series but wish you had Darla and Caleb get engaged and married. For a 30 something young woman their relationship seemed very teenagery. It would have been fun to have her planning a wedding and getting involved in one of her mysteries. It just came together so fast at the end it was kind of a letdown.
This food truck mystery boxed set really kept my attention, it was hard to set down. Truly shows that family is not just a bloodline, family is having people that really care about you, watch out for you and love you for being you!
I really enjoyed this series. Darla and her friends work in the food trucks and Darla and her friend get caught up in solving crimes. It is very enjoyable and easy to read.
Having owned a food truck once, that was my first attraction to this boxed set. I was pleasantly surprised by it's (mostly) realistic portrayal of the food truck business, but especially by the fun of reading and the mysteries to solve.
What fun. I enjoyed every story. There was sweet romance, new friendships, mystery, mayhem, comedy, and a pet alligator. What more could you want in a book. If you read the first of the 12 books, you will be hooked. So happy reading to you.
This was a great cozy and Darla was one lucky lady and great detective. In one of the books twice she substituted Isaac for Caleb's name. Also she was incredibly lucky not to get arrested herself with her breaking and entering .
I recommeng for anyone who enjoys a quick read and a series with enjoyable backstory. It was fun to try and solve the cases while reading and the stories didn't stretch out unnecessarily.
I really enjoyed getting to know all the characters in this series! I felt a connection, and emphasized when things got rough, and celebrated when good things happened to various characters, too!
This has been a fun read for.me. Each book short enough to finish in one long sitting. But had to take breaks between books to get some work done! Great cozy mysteries.
You will fall in love with this series all the characters and adventures they have. Wording is great and you feel like you’re right there with them doing what they are doing. Great series
I haven’t read so many books in a short period of time since 2020. I loved the way Darla worked out the crime. At times I felt sorry for her. She had a kind heart and she trusted and believed in her staff. Lots of laughs along the way.
Fun to meet all these interesting characters. Who knew food trucks were a thing? Dear author: the typos got worse and worse as the new stories occurred. You definitely need another set of eyes.
Cute cozy mystery series. Darla and her friends on Hilton Head Island do a great job of solving crime. You have to love India and her pet alligator, Josie….along with the food truck employees.
