I’m known to the Hollywood elite as The Fixer. Others refer to me as a Sin Eater. Whatever they call me, people know my name. Some even talk about me as this mythical creature who can make miracles happen, provided those miracles are unethical and usually illegal. But I don’t have a unique skill set. I’m merely a man in possession of a broken moral compass.
I won’t apologize for who I am. The world I live in made me this way. The people who abandoned me set me in motion. And the system that failed me molded me.
That doesn’t mean I don’t know the difference between right and wrong.
When the daughter of one of Hollywood’s shining stars is kidnapped, I make it my mission to find her. And I do. But don’t mistake me for the hero. I knew she would be taken, and I did nothing to stop it.
Years later, that girl is now a woman, and her mother once again needs me to make a problem go away. When she calls, I answer.
Right time? Right place?
No.
It’s been my plan all along.
This is a standalone menage romance with a morally challenged anti-hero, a man who thinks he owes Rule his life, and a beautiful artist who decides two sinfully sexy men are definitely better than one.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Edwards spends her days stringing words together to make complete sentences. Sometimes not. Her best friend is coffee, and she has a love/hate relationship with sarcasm. She’s been accused of having a filthy imagination, which she admits is true.
Nicole lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. She proudly claims one husband, three grown children, and two bosses (better known as the dogs). When she isn’t writing, watching football or hockey, or keeping her bosses happy, you can probably find her with a book in hand.
As with other Standalone books by Nicole Edwards, this was a THICK one, and I never wanted it to end. After reading almost 600 pages, I was still so engrossed in Rule, Jinx, and Laikyn's story, so much so that I wanted it to continue after I read the last page.
Rule and Jinx met as kids in a group home. They each have a different heartbreaking story of how they ended up there, but here we are two decades later, and they are still friends who live together and work together. Rule is known as the Hollywood Fixer, and Jinx helps him with the computer hacking that sometimes needs to be done. Three others work with them to "Fix" whatever the Hollywood Elite needs fixing, which leads Rule right to Laikyn's doorstep.
Wow talk about an awesome read, it was a book that I didn’t want to put down - it drew me in from the very first page. I fell in love with Rule, Jinx and Laikyn, this author makes me fall in love with her characters
Leave it to Ms. Edwards to bring us a whole new cast of characters that are unique, interesting and have you in their corner from the beginning all while keeping that line of connection to characters we already know and love. I really enjoyed this MMF story and these broken characters who found happiness with each other because everyone deserves to be happy and find love. Not one of these characters has had an easy beginning to their lives. Rule has faced abandonment, jail time and an unfair judicial system, but he is protective of those he cares about even if he lives within a morally grey world. Jinx has struggled with anxiety and it comes out in his lack of being able to speak. He is however, very loyal and has been by Rule’s side for most of their lives. Laikyn Quinn is the wild card in their world. She is sassy, unfiltered and says whatever comes to her mind. She is also fierce with an amazing inner strength. She grew up with a famous mother but hasn’t really felt like she was important. Her mother has done unspeakable things to her and now as those secrets are revealed she leans into Rule and Jinx. It is her refreshing personality that breathes fresh air into Rule and Jinx’s world since they have never met anyone like her. She truly is the catalyst that finally allows Rule to open up his heart and Jinx to feel like he finally tell Rule how he has felt about him for years, but it is the dynamics between the three of them that is the driving force to bringing them all the happiness they deserve.
Laugh out loud funny. This stand alone will give you all the frustration, drama, and joy your little heart can handle. When I found out Rule was getting a book, I screamed from the rooftops. After reading Rule's book, I screamed from the rooftops. This merry band of misfits are perfect for each other. #LoveIsLove
I absolutely loved RULE. 💖 I loved Rule, Jinx and Laikyn's story! A perfect threesome! 💕
Years ago I read several of Nicole Edwards' books... and loved them. 😍 And then, somehow, I kinda lost interest in this autor... until now. 😄 In the acknowlegdgements I became aware Nicole created a whole 'Universe'. 😀
Nicole Edwards at the end of Rule: For those of you who are familiar with my other books and series, you might notice that my universes are colliding. It was bound to happen one day. After all, you were first introduced to the Walkers in my Club Destiny series. From there, I’ve had numerous crossover novels that have outlined the six degrees of separation between many of my characters. This has always been intentional on my part. It wasn’t an accident that Knox Montgomery turned out to be Laikyn Quinn’s half-brother. If you’re curious about Knox, I suggest you read Filthy Hot Billionaire. And if you’re interested in learning how Creed Granger came to be in a relationship with five people, you should check out the Primal Instincts series. With that said, there’s a larger plot at play. Something big. Something that will shine a light on a connection no one could see coming. So stay tuned because there will be some new characters—yes, Ronan Kavanagh, who you were first introduced to in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series, is one of them—and some old favorites who will come front and center once again.
With my shitty memory, the by Nicole mentioned 'larger plot' will most likely be lost on me 🥴 lol! It's downright impossible for me to remember all those connections. I love interconnected series 🥰 (staying in touch with MCs of previous books), but at the same time I absolutely hate it 😕 because I simply can't remember all those details and connections. Even if I take notes, it won't be enough. 😔 The only way to maybe get the larger plot would be when reading all the books back to back.... which is obviously utterly onrealistic. 😉 Can't imagine I'm the only one with this problem!?! 🤔 Especially when interconnected series have so many books, authors should make some kind of overview with who/what/where, to keep the readers on track!! Right? *end of rant* 🤪😂["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
After reading the Primal Instincts series and being introduced to Rule as Creeds childhood friend and Hollywood fixer I was so excited to hear Rule was getting his very own book. Nicole Edwards has hit it out the park again with Rule! No one writes complex men that we love to love and MMF relationships like Nicole!
In this book there are two complex men Rule and Jinx, they have been together since childhood, both being let down early in life by the people who should have loved them the most and both building walls around themselves, so they don’t get hurt again by anyone. Rule is exceptionally intelligent, his own person and has serious abandonment issues. Jinx is also dealing with abandonment issues and extreme anxiety which has caused him to not speak since he was a child. Rule and Jinx are extremely close, working together and living together, both thinking the life they have created with one another is good…until Laikyn comes into their lives full forced and turns all their lives upside down. Laikyn is young, vibrate and says exactly what’s on her mind, she can be inquisitive almost to fault, but that is something you grow to really love about her, and she owns her s--- lol. Laikyn has her own issues; she has a mother that is a Hollywood superstar that cares more about herself and image than being a real mother to Laikyn and she never has known who her father is. I won’t reveal here how Laikyn ends up living with Rule and Jinx, I will just say it is under false pretenses to say the least.
This threesome ends up being exactly what they all had been looking for but would never allow themselves to believe they deserved. There is a winding road for them to figure out how much they love and need each other; and several big secrets that are uncovered, along with some characters from other Nicole Edwards books that are part of the storyline in Rule.
I love all three of the main characters in this book, but I have to say Jinx is my absolute favorite, he is so very loving to both Rule and Laikyn without every saying a word. I love the way Nicole has written this character; he will make you cry and smile. Rule has everything we love from a Nicole Edwards book, complex characters, secrets that are uncovered, amazing MMF sexual heat, and a love story that is oh so untraditional for most. I loved this book, once you get into it you won’t want to put it down!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
This is the story of Rule, Jinx and Laikyn. Her mother is a famous Hollywood actress and the woman is really a piece of work. She only really cares about herself and how much coverage in the papers she can get. Laiklyn never knew who her father really was and she sure didn't have a mom that really cared about her like a mother should. She never really had real friends either. She knew that everyone that was in her life was just there for her mother and not her. However one day she is kidnapped and this is the meeting of she and Rule. Rule's life took a turn at a young age. He had horrible parents who abandoned him as a boy and he was in a facility really for most of his life. That is until he goes to prison for something he really shouldn't have gone for. He was defending his friend Jinx who as being bullied and can't speak. Jink has never said a word but that didn't stop him from being about to communicate with Jinx. The day he got out of prison Jink was there and had been making his way in the world and found himself there to pick up Rule because he saved his life. This leads to a road trip and Rule becoming The Fixer. If you have a problem you need to go away then you can Rule and he and his crew can make it go away. For a very heavy price. The first time he ever saw Laiklyn he felt a draw to her but she was young and he knew there could never be a thing between them. But when circumstances lead him to letting her stay with him and Jinks, things get very interesting very quickly. She can't deny that she is really attracted to Rule but when she sees Jink she also knows that she is attracted to him too. Rule being older fights his attraction. Gets angry and runs. It's what is is best at and together she and Jink have got to make him see that he has something absolutely amazing right in front of his eyes. Add in a wedding and you have yourself one heck of a read. I devoured it. I could not put it down and loved every single second of this book. No one writes menage like this author does and I hope that we get many more books in this series from her.
There are a lot of things I love about this book. But it has a “big secret” and that is not my thing. Because I love this author and knew I would enjoy the story overall, I kept reading once I realized this secret was going to be kept far longer than I had anticipated. Some things are kept secret that I could understand, but the big one didn’t seem as though it should be a secret so it bugged me.
I said there was plenty to love, though. And there was. The chemistry as well as the backstory of Rule and Jinx is phenomenal. Unlike most of this author’s work, this is (so far) a standalone so we don’t know a lot about Rule. He was introduced in the Primal Instincts series in a very peripheral way and was intriguing at the time. He’s even more intriguing now. I also love how matter-of-fact Laikyn is throughout the book. Especially when it comes to Jinx, who hasn’t spoken since he was a young child. The friendship Laikyn and Jinx form while they are trying to figure out their new living situation is beautiful.
Rule and Jinx had similar but different experiences in their childhood that made it extremely hard to trust and love. Their relationship is interesting and deep, but it’s never acknowledged until Laikyn comes to live with them and they start falling in love with her. They cannot seem to let down their guard until she forces the issue. Laikyn, in many ways, grew up in privilege. Yet she was raised by nannies and her mom used her as an accessory when it was convenient, so it’s no surprise she also has intimacy issues. These three need each other and I loved watching their walls crumble brick by brick.
For avid fans of this author, there are a lot of breadcrumbs about things going on in the overall universe of her books. While this may be a standalone, I know we haven’t seen the last of Laikyn, Rule, and Jinx.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
Nicole has been an og author for me for so long. I have had Rule on my list all year, and finally, I was like I'm in a book slump I know what can help this book. And boy did it. Rule and Jinx grew up in foster care while jinx was mute. Rule protected him and paid the price. Now in their 30s, Rule is the Hollywood fixer and his small group, including Jinx. Take care of anything the superstars of Hollywood need to be fixed. Laykin is the daughter of a movie star and has really loved her life in a bubble because she has been kidnapped by her mother's fans. She was saved by Rule, and yeara later, her mother needed his services again. Her mother is in deep debt and couldn't pay, so she offered herself to Rule to pay off her debt. He agrees but she has to marry him. This was so yummy. Laykin character I loved she was so sassy, smart, and direct. Rule was such a force but had a lot of issues with the way he was abandoned. Jinx, not able to talk, limits his life of who he lets in. This is a try poly book, which Nicole always rights so well. I loved the relationship with jinx and rule and how patience he was with him. Rule and Laykin was a ball of pure tension and push and pull. And laykin with Jinx was so yummy and romantic without words. You know there is a swcret thry are keeping from her. I really loved the way she unveiled things and how she introduced the secrets. They acted like humans but were able to see reason, which I hate in books where they just can't calm down and think by not being mad and making situations worse. And don't get me started on the spicy scenes....she does them so well, just like always. Thank you, Nicole, for getting me out of my slump.
This is such a good MMF romance with a morally grey main male character, a supportive and very loving best friend and a lonely but very strong female main character.
I love Nicole Edwards’s writing and I always know that I will get an angsty, thrilling and heart wrenching book with an amazing HEA. All her books are interconnected and besides all the new characters we are introduced to we also meet a lot of old characters too and I always look forward to who will show up in her new books:)!
Rule and Jinx have known each other since childhood where they ended up at the same home for orphans. Jinx hasn’t said a word since he was 5 and also suffers from anxiety. Now they both live in a house together and work to help celebrities out of dire situations. Rule is known as the Hollywood fixer and has helped the actress Monica Quinn several times. He saved her daughter Laikyn Quinn from a kidnapping when she was 17 and now Monica needs help again and Laikyn agrees to marry Rule to save her mother. But why does Rule want to marry Laikyn and what happens if she falls in love with two morally grey men with so many skeletons in the closet, can that ever work?
I loved the story, the plot and the romance but I must say that Laikyn annoyed me a little at the third act conflict but luckily she stops her spiral and grows up. I also found the book a little too long and it might be my mood right now but there was a bit too much sexual content in the middle of the book:).
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book from Nicole Edwards and this is my honest opinion and my voluntary review.
*4 stars* I don't always know what I'm getting into when I start reading a book by this author and that's something that has always drawn me to her books. I've been reading her since I picked up my first book; I feel the anticipation but also anxiously await to see what comes next. I always love when fan favorites appear in her stories but I always like a good MMF story as the author has been really known to write it without it getting a bit too much. In the beginning of this book I felt a bit lost but somewhere I felt a connection to Laykin and the pace picked up after that realisation. I was invested in the story and even though I didn't want it to end, I wanted to know the answers to my questions although I felt some part of the stories could have had a bit more length. Another great read!
Rule & Jinx have known each other for a long time and when they have a new job lined-up, it'll take them on a journey that will not only put them on a rollercoaster but also change their lifes for good. Laykin has been through a lot but she never imagined being married to someone she didn't even really know but she has a feeling she's about to embark on a life changing experience but she has never felt more safe than being with Rule & Jinx although she knows that time might be running out in the end for them. There's so much still not said and secrets that will be laid bare, will they hold on to their newfound relationships and will their walls come down... Sometimes love finds a way...
Above and beyond, how Nicole Edwards continues to do it I will never know, but this book captured my attention. The three main characters are all broken in a sense where their past have defined who they are. and even unknown to them, they need each other desperately. Rule has always been his own person, with issues even he thought he would never overcome his life was full of abandonment, so his self-worth was a little more than having to be self-reliant. Jinx who owes his very existence to Rule, literally. Because of his lack of talking Rule had went to prison for saving his life. And Jinx was waiting for him and would always be with him. And then there’s Laikyn. She is a one woman show. I think every woman would like to have just a little bit of her in them. She enters their lives like a storm, completely ready to uproot both of them. so much goes on throughout the book, there are characters you love to hate, and, of course, communication between the characters is completely lacking so it stirs up so much trouble. What none of them planned on was the idea that they could actually fall in love with each other. The story is so exciting, so intense and so steamy that it is hard to put down. I think my glasses steamed up there for a while. I don’t know how Nicole Edwards does it, but the story is fantastic. The characters are so in-depth, and the information about the characters really lets you get into their heads so you know why they do what they do, even though you may not approve. I don’t know how to praise this book any more than just say it is a must read.
HOLY SMOKES WAS THIS BOOK GOOD! WOW! I could not put Rule down once I started reading. Nicole Edwards hit a complete and total homerun with this one. Wow!
Rule is centered around Rule, Jinx and Laikyn. The three main characters are such beautifully broken characters. You fall in love with them from the very first time each character is introduced and you never stop holding on to them. You want these three to win. However, each one brings his or her own strength to the relationship and story. Rule does not play by traditional rules. He is his own person. His own man. He is the fixer. Jinx is as loyal as they come. He gives his all to those he cares about. Oh, and those computer hacking skills are beyond top notch! Laikyn may be the underappreciated daughter of the A-list actress Monica Quinn, but she has a strength and fire to her that burns bright and makes you want to be around her and revel in her world. Heck, you want to be her! Rule and Jinx have known each other since they were boys, but Laikyn enters Rule and Jinx's life like a firestorm...no holds barred and turns everything upside down.
Rule was an absolutely captivating read. There were so many secrets, communication issues, so many wounds to be healed, and what a journey it was to see these three navigate these waters. Although Rule is a standalone, it was great to catch up characters with from other stories once again.
In Rule, Nicole Edwards has given us, readers, yet another well written and emotionally charged story. Bravo, Nicole! Bravo!
Rule, a man who expects everyone in his life to walk away, living on borrowed time with those around him and always prepared to shut someone out if he got the hint that they were considering leaving him. Jinx, a man whose childhood revolved around violence, trauma and anxiety resulting in his incapability to use his vocal cords. His loyalty and friendship with Rule transcends to the point that he is in love with the man for years. Laikyn Quinn, a young, artistic, sassy, beautiful and intelligent woman living in a hateful relationship with her famous mother, has been manipulated and used throughout her life. These three characters complete each other despite the intricacies of their relationship. Laikyn is the key to Rule's fruition in finding the love and affection he's been yearning for - with her and Jinx, the cure to Jinx's vocal recovery and the light at the end of Rule and Jinx's dark tunnel.
For a standalone novel, this one is long but worth every page. You cannot put it down and don’t want it to conclude. Nicole Edwards has an exceptional style of writing love stories that captivate you from start to end. I've already been mesmerised by her Coyote Ridge Universe but now it looks like she's about to connect it to the universe from some of her stand-alone books, as shown by the appearance of the Primal Instincts and Filthy Hot Billionaire characters. That epilogue with Ronan Kavanagh's appearance surely makes me more exuberant for the next Off the Books Series and anticipating a cameo from Rule.
OH WOW what a great story we got from Nicole Edwards in Rule. Rule is a MMF standalone story and it introduces to main characters Rule, Jinx and Laikyn. These 3 characters have their own personal demons to overcome and yet still they find love amongst each other. Laikyn is the daughter of a world famous actress and has been used as her mother's pawn for her entire life. Rule and Jinx has known each other from since they were very young al while living at a group home. Jinx's is unable to speak due to a high level of anxiety and therefore unable to defend himself. When Rule defends him after Jinx was attacked Jinx is unable to speak to leaving Rule to have to serve jail time. Jinx has always been loyal to Rule and in love with him as well. Laikyn is first introduced to Rule in the most unconventional way, as he's forced to rescue her. When Rule is called in to rescue Laikyn again this is where this love story finally takes off. Laikyn is a wild card in Rule and Jinx's lives and she proves to be just the thing that they both need, she brings all the sassiness, vibrancy and mischief that they never knew they needed. This story is all about giving these 3 broken characters a chance at finding love and Nicole truly delivers. As always in true Nicole style we get to see some of our old characters making an appearance as this story develops. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves a great love story. Great job Nicole, you never disappoint.
This is the story of Rule, Jinx and Laikyn. We met Rule in the Primal Instincts series because he grew up with Creed. He is a fixer for the Hollywood rich and famous that does not do everything the legal way. Jinx is a member of his team and longtime friend. Laikyn is the daughter of a Hollywood starlet who never knew who her father was. After their paths cross, the pull that Rule feels for he is undeniable and from that point on he keeps watch over her from afar. Due do an issue with her mom Laikyn reaches out Rule for help. When her mom can’t pay for Rule’s service Laikyn offers herself up to cover the debt, little does she know that this plays right into Rule’s plan to protect her. All 3 of the main character are “broken” in some way and are doing their best to protect their hearts (all for different reasons) but when the pull between them becomes too much to handle they give in and act like it is just for fun. The communication between these 3 characters is completely horrible so it stirs up so much misunderstanding and trouble. Once Laikyn finds out what Rule is hiding will she be able to forgive him? Will these 3 get the happily ever after they all deserve? Along with the answers to those questions we also get to see some other familiar faces from other series/books and that is always a welcome bonus.
Rule by Nicole Edwards is a stand-alone ménage romance with a morally grey anti-hero, a man who believes he owes him his life, and an artist who was the daughter of a Hollywood A-lister. Rule was the “Hollywood Fixer.” He was also the hero who rescued Laikyn from her kidnappers when she was seventeen. The next time she saw him, she was twenty-two years old, and her mother needed his services but couldn’t pay his fee. Jinx was Rule’s friend, lover, and business partner. The three found themselves living together when Laikyn moved in to pay her mother’s fee and the draw to each other was impossible to resist. None of them wanted love or a relationship, but sometimes we don’t get what we want. We get what we need. I really enjoyed this book with its’ complex main characters, incredibly spicy chemistry, and visible character growth. This is definitely a darker romance than the author’s series Walkers of Coyote Ridge, Alluring Indulgence, or Club Destiny. The book illustrated how the author’s book worlds are starting to overlap as characters from a variety of series made appearances in the story. I found it easy to become engaged in the story, which I felt was paced well to keep it interesting all the way through. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy darker romances with morally grey main characters, why choose tropes, and super spicy hot intimacy. Nicole Edwards hasn’t disappointed me yet! I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Nicole Edwards.
Rule/ Jinx and the person who will tie their lives together - Laikyn. Honestly, in forming the foundations to the storyline was a little confusing at first. So many new characters bouncing of each other. Rule being the centre character with Jinx following.
But, one word - one name Rule. Rule - such a confusing delicious character. What exactly does he want from the web that he has created? His boundaries with both Jinx and Laikyn Quinn or Laikyn ??
My review on Rule is going to be completely different. Yes, there are 3 main characters but also there is so much more here. Rule the person is quite a complex person. Has an extremely high IQ, is loyal to selected few and doesn’t stray from his routine. Unfortunately, there was a curve thrown at him that he didn’t want to accept. Abandoned at the age of 2 at a Police Station, insecurities run deep. Why feel when you don’t have too! Why have something good taken away from you when you can avoid putting yourself in the situation?
An in-depth read, that looks further than the characters. Take note of Nicole’s dedication. Feel as though there is a hidden message.
This was a fantastic story full of many surprising twists and I could not stop reading.
We met Rule in the Primal Instincts series. He grew up with Creed. He is a fixer that might not do everything legal. Laikyn is the daughter of a Hollywood starlet and after their paths cross, the pull that Rule feels for Laikyn is undeniable. Rule secretly keeps an eye on Laikyn, with the help of his team, and when Laikyn needs Rule again, he steps in and his secret pull to Laikyn does not remain a secret. Laikyn feels the same way, and their story together begins.
There are so many secrets and complications that develop, including that neither has had an easy life, in very different ways.
Rule and Jinx have lived together for over 20 years. They are together, but not, and have no commitment, but most of that has to do with Rule. How does Rule keep his emotions in check with these 2 people who mean so much to him, while he tries to keep his emotions removed?!
There were some great cameos in this story from the Primal Instincts group, but also some others . . . Which was so much fun!
Nicole does it again! Her ability to draw you in from the first chapter is second to none. Rule is a standalone, it is a story based on 3 main characters, Rule, Jinx and Laikyn, all three have issues, all three have learnt to live with there past lives and all three still have a long way to go to getting their HEA. Right at the beginning of this book there are some shocking incidences that drew me straight in, the story gripped me, I just had to keep reading, As the story unfolds you think you have the answers but then Nicole adds a few twists and turns. Of course Nicole is a master at MMF but she certainly excelled with this book, the three characters are brilliant and I related to each of them and when they came together as one, oh boy it's hot!! Or you're new to Nicole then this is definitely a book id recommend,(well I recommend them all but) it has all the feels, I've laughed, cried, taken deep breaths and I got hot under the collar, the story is gripping and it will have you turning the pages so fast, you'll wonder what's hit you. This book is a must read, it's Nicole at her absolute best.
I LOVE when Nicole goes to the "Dark" side when she writes. This book was exceptional. It starts with the very sad back stories of the three main characters, Rule, Jinx and Laikyn. Rule and Jinx have been friends for many years and first met when they were in the foster system together. Laikyn is the daughter of a very famous actress who pretty much could care less that she gave birth to her. Rule and Laikyn's paths cross for the first time when Rule was on a job. He is known as the Hollywood Fixer and rescued Laikyn when she was kidnapped when she was 17. Now they have reunited again as Rule is again on the job for her mother. As part of a deal, Laikyn moves in with Rule and his roommate Jinx. The three of them have an explosive connection that will have your fingers scorched as you turn every page. Unfortunately there are also secrets that Laikyn does not know about and is going to test the threesome. Incredible M/M and M/F/M scenes written by Nicole as she is the master of writing M/M and menage!!! Excellent read, great banter between the characters and you are just praying for a happy ending as these characters are so damaged before they got together.
Rule is a standalone menage romance from the Queen of Menage, Nicole Edwards. I've been reading Nicole's books for years and years and I'm always amazed how she gives us new, fresh and exciting stories. Rule, Jinx and Laikyn are surprisingly funny together. They all come from pasts that have been tough, whether mentally or physically, or both. But once they find themselves together they seem to fit like puzzle pieces. Rule and Jinx have been friends and lovers for years, but not until Laikyn showed up did either of them realize the depth of their feelings for each other. It's as if her showing up cast light on all their darkness. Now they have to figure out what it all means and protect her at the same time. Secrets need to come out and no one knows what's going to happen. They just have to stand together and it will all work out their way in the end. I loved these three! Their banter, their understanding of each other. The loyalty and the sexiness! It was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it!
No cliffhanger Standalone Told from 3 POVs M/m/f romance
I love this author. I have read every book she has ever written but recently I’ve found her books to be a lot longer than they need to be, with almost too much character/scene development that didn’t really seem to add to the story, but this book wasn’t like that at all. I gobbled up every word.
I was hooked from the first chapter and didn’t want the story to be over. Laikyn, Rule and Jinx were all amazing characters and I especially loved Jinx!
I won’t give too much away but Rule is what they call a Hollywood fixer and Jinx is his best friend/lover. They have known each other their whole lives and really are a package deal. Laikyn was supposed to just be a “job”, they weren’t supposed to fall in love with her, and when she finds out what they have been keeping from her, it throws their entire relationship into a tailspin.
The question is, have Rule and Jinx finally found the one problem in Hollywood they can’t fix?
I was so excited to see Rule getting his own book and that Jinx is a part of it. Add in Laikyn and you get an amazing storyline.
Wow Nicole, that prologue slayed my heart wide open. Reading what happened to Jinx and Rule had me in tears from the beginning and then, what was happening to Laikyn, jeez!!
But as it always is in one of Nicole’s books, she gives you a fabulous story that puts your heart back together. Since this is considered a stand alone, you will get an HEA.
Bringing these 3 characters together gives them a chance to heal. You get some drama, lots of laughter, and some of the hottest sexy scenes you could imagine. Did I mention this is a ménage? Oh yes, there is MF, MM, MFM, and MMF. (No cheating)
And because of their past issues they faced, and the outcome, they have become one of my favorite of her throuple’s. I also enjoyed getting to see characters from previous books.
This is the story of Rule, which we were introduced in the Primal Instincts series, he is known as the fixer. If you have an issue, he will fix it for a cost. Laikyn got kidnapped when she was younger, and Rule is the one to rescue her. Their paths cross again several years later, once again he has to fix a situation and in order to fix it, they have to get married. Jinx and Rule have known each other since they were kids in foster care. They work and live together. Jinx has anxiety issues and does not speak. When they were younger Rule saved Jinx's life and paid a price. The way they communicate and love each is wonderful. Follow this brilliant story of these 3 wonderful characters navigate life. Drama ensues and characters from other books pop up in some interesting ways. I must say that while I do love Nicole’s books, this has become one of my favourites. This story feels like an old school Nicole love story.
Rule....he has made his own rules for a real long time now. He has few real friends and he will keep it that way. He doesn't need any one or that's what he tells himself. There was one girl he couldn't keep out of his mind though. He would do whatever needed to done for her and she didn't even know who he was. (Ha! I could have worded that better so it didn't sound creepy but it's really not like that at all!)
Most of the wealthy needs his services at one point or another for him to do what he does best. He makes them pay for that privilege and pay they do. When "she" calls though, he'll drop everything for her. Once they meet, you can feel the sparks and when Jinx enters the picture even more sparks fly. I mean whoo-whee are there sparks EVERYWHERE!
Will their relationship last through the secrets, revelations and hold your breath moments? You NEED to read this book to find out what happens between them and fellow past characters!
A standalone from Nicole Edwards that will suck you in from page one. I read this book in about 2 hours and it has almost 600 pages. A great MMF/MM/MF romance that will set your Kindle on fire. Rule, Jinx and Laikyn had intense chemistry with all three are together and also in their separate couples. Each person has their own personal demons that they are fighting and they need each other to help fight those battles. Watching them fight for the love of someone or in this case two people while still trying to be strong and independent was so good to watch. Each of them falling in love with the others scared them because they were not expecting it. It snuck on them so when they finally started to give into it, they found ways to sabotage it subconsciously. Watching them give into their feelings and work through their problems to get their HEA was so good. Highly recommend this and all her stories.
Rule is a wonderfully entertaining MMF story with tongue-in-cheek self-observations, witty dialogue and incredibly hot and steamy sexy times in all combinations. While the romance between Rule, Jinx and Laikyn stands completely on its own, there are a good number of characters from previous books making appearances, loosely connecting it to different series. There is also an element of suspense and truly heart-breaking background stories to them all. Put together, it's an engrossing read that grabbed me from the first word to the last. One of those books that you want to read in one sitting and a definite keeper. At the very - happy - end, we get a glimpse of more to come and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this throuple in future books. I was fortunate to have received an advanced copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
This new standalone from Nicole Edwards will warm even the coldest winter evening.
It will make you laugh, cry, gasp swoon and become so enraged that you'll be glad that you don't carry weapons.
Laikyn is like a breath of fresh air, especially to the stoic Rule and silent Jinx.
Rule's rather strange career, as well as his colleagues, takes the reader down a strange but no less intriquing path that will leave you wishing for more.
The relationship between Rule, Laikyn and Jinx is enough to make the hardest heart pitty pat with its intensity. It's a truly beautiful story of a love that is meant to be.
However it's the larger cast of characters that truly bring this latest release to life.
As usual Nicole Edwards beautifully crafts novels that seamlessly weave characters from previous novels into the fabric of exciting new publications, enticing the reader to go back for a re-read.
I for one hope that this won't be the last time we meet Jinx, Laikyn and Rule.
I have never laughed out loud reading a book until now. Hilarious and romantic. What more could you want in a book? Laiken, Rule, and Jinx all have personal issues from their pasts they are trying to deal with. It's only when the three of them find themselves together that they start to heal. Laiken is my new role model. I totally want to be her when I grow up. Rule and Jinx had no chance against that feisty woman. Of course this is a Nicole Edwards book so you get all the feels with all the bedroom (or patio) antics. Added bonus of seeing quite a few characters from past books. Nicole really knows how to draw you in from page one and keep you hooked through to the end. Rule is no exception. This book kept me glued to my screen. All time favorite book of the year.
