Mountain Masters & Dark Haven #7

Master of the Wilderness

Rate this book
Auto mechanic Erin Lockwood is not only newly divorced; she’s practically penniless.
When her emotionally-abusive ex flees the country to escape arrest for blackmailing other politicians, it’s actually a relief—a chance to reclaim her life. But retreating to the mountain house gifted by her mother, she’s met by hostility from the nearby town. The locals blame Erin for her ex’s corrupt actions that led to the construction of a private prison, drawing gangs, violence, and death.

Wilderness guide Wyatt Masterson lives by one Don’t Date Locals.
It’s a rule he’s followed effortlessly until Erin moves to town, and the city girl gets herself lost in the unforgiving woods. He doesn’t want to like the politician’s ex, but how can he resist the little mechanic’s chin-up attitude, her fortitude, and her unwavering honesty?

Erin finds Wyatt devastatingly attractive.
The big, rugged cowboy is tough and confident. An unshakable shelter. However, it’s too soon to get involved with anyone. Look what a mistake she made with her marriage. She needs time to heal and rediscover herself.

But time is the one thing they don’t have. Her ex’s crimes have born violent fruit, and no one in town is safe.

Master of the Wilderness is part of a series of interconnected, stand-alone, romantic suspense novels. The long, more-than-spicy romance has a protective hero, a stand-up heroine, and an endearing girl gang. Don’t you deserve a sigh-worthy, happy ending with no cliffhanger and no cheating?

A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she’s renowned for writing heart-wrenching romances with laugh-out-loud dialogue, alpha males, and absolutely sizzling sex.

I met my dearheart when vacationing in the Caribbean. Now I won’t say it was love at first sight. Actually since he stood over me, enjoying the view down my swimsuit top, I might have been a tad peeved—as well as attracted. But although we were together less than two days and lived on opposite sides of the country, love can’t be corralled by time or space.

We’ve now been married for many, many years. (And he still looks down my swimsuit tops.)

Nowadays, I live in the west with this obnoxious, beloved husband and a seventy-pound lap-puppy. I’m a gardener, and I love nurturing small plants until they’re big and healthy and productive…and ripping defenseless weeds out by the roots when I’m angry. I enjoy thunderstorms, collecting eggs from the chickens, and visiting the local brewery for the darkest, maltiest beer on tap. My favorite way to spend an evening is curled up on a couch next to the master of my heart, watching the fire, reading, and…well…if you’re reading my books, you obviously know what else happens in front of fires.

A woman with an abusive ex? Glad to see Sinclair stretching herself. Give her red hair too, she’s never done that before. Is this Dom going to save her with kinky sex but keep himself emotionally detached because of his own issues with women?

I don’t think I need to read this. I already got the gist from her last fourteen books.

Lemme know if this author ever tries something new, but for now ✌🏻

Because I’m going to make you whimper… and I’ll enjoy it.”

Oh how I've missed Cherise's Masters. It's been a hot minute since I read her books and I can't even tell you why. This author is the queen of BDSM. She's able to combine, heat with heart and write heart wrenching stories full of thigh clenching spice. She's one of my comfort reads.

This story had it all, romance, suspense, action, and all of the feels. Erin is healing from a divorce to her abusive ex who recently ran from the country and cleaned out her accounts. The only escape she has is her mother's house but it's in a town that unfortunately she's infamous in due to her husband's bribe taking to built a corrupt prison. This prison brought a crime wave to the small town that the people haven't yet recovered from.

Wyatt is coming back from a volunteer mission in Africa. He's a man who suffered horrible loss and doesn't want to put himself on the line again. But there's something about Erin that brings him peace and reels him right in.

Erin was this endearing combination of strong but vulnerable. She's gone through so much in her life and she's just looking for someone to really see her. She just doesn't expect that someone to be the beautiful man in the cowboy hat and the soulful brown eyes. I loved these two togeher. I loved Wyatt's quiet intensity. I loved how they didn't fight their feelings for each other even with their pasts. I also loved the added suspense and action packed ending.

Admittedly though, this one just didn't suck me in like the others in this series did. It was an enjoyable read, don't get me wrong. But it also took me a few days to finish because I kept getting distracted.

Ultimately, it was still a great read that I would highly recommend to any readers who enjoy a well written, steamy BDSM with plenty of feels and a splash of action.

I love being in Bear Flat, where the men are deliciously Dominant, and their women are very good at keeping them on their toes.
And enjoying the consequences when they push a bit too far…
Hearing it was time for Wyatt Masterson to find his HEA was all the more reason to run as fast as i could to Bear Flats to watch what happened.
What i got was a story with ups and downs, with suspense and delicious moments in as well as outdoors.
And when i left,i knew all was well…..apart from the fact that there’s only one Masterson left to get caught by the love bug.

Erin was glad she still had the cabin at Bear Flats that her mother gave to her as a wedding present.
Leaving behind a husband that was not only cruel to her,but that was blackmailing people, was a relief.
She’d informed the FBI as soon as she’d found out what he was doing.
Finding out he’d been cheating on her as well, was just the icing on the rotten cake, and she’d be happy when the divorce was final.
Only problem she had now was that he’d taken all of their money as well….and thanks to him her cabin was pretty much worthless.
She needed a job,and that’s where her luck changed.
Because her Grampie taught her to repair cars from a very young age.
And the local garage could do with another mechanic.
She knew she didn’t make a very good impression with the clothes she was wearing, but doing a thorough checkup of the car of that delicious man she’d met in town, proved she knew what she was doing.
And that delicious man?
Turned out to be interested in her….in spite of what her ex,Troy, had done to the town.
And the more she got to know him,the harder he was to resist.
If only she was ready to give love another shot….

Wyatt’s first impression of Erin wasn’t good, but looking closer, after she’d fixed his car,he saw a woman that intrigued him.
Being the wife of senator Wagner meant he looked at her with a weary eye.
He was responsible for all the bad stuff that’d happened in Bear Flat, after all….
But she seemed different, practical, caring and down to earth.
The kind of woman he was tempted to start a relationship with.
If only he didn’t have that rule of not dating the local women….

In spite of some negative people,Erin managed to find her place in this wonderful town.
Making friends,real friends,felt good.
And even though she kept telling herself she was better off alone, she couldn’t stay away from Wyatt.
Was Bear Flat the place where she could build a new, better life for herself?
Where she could call herself at home?

Wyatt enjoyed his time with Erin, and he even started thinking of a future with her.
Being back home, being with her,was exactly what he needed.
But there were clouds on the horizon….
Erin’s past wasn’t done with her yet and it might cost him more than a future with her….it might cost her her life!

In true Cherise style, this was a story about second chances, and open minds.
A story with heart as well as heat.
A story of courage, and standing by eachother.
A story of embracing life and love, and growing families.
In short,a story i loved!

I do like Ms Sinclair’s book, but Master of the wilderness wasn’t that interesting. Black and white characters, no nuances at all. Mostly boring.
And honestly a town full of Doms is a lit bit of a stretch. There’s so much credulity you can ask me to suspend before I start questioning everything (here we have a senator’s daughter who trained as a mechanic, a family of perverted monsters, a town full of doms :D, as I said a little bit too much).

I didn’t feel the chemistry which for a romance is a real nit.

Quickish Review 3.5 stars (yup I round up)

I’m a longtime reader of Ms. Sinclair’s BDSM, and she is a go-to comfort kind of read. I haven’t read this particular series in a while I think, because I don’t remember the prison backstory, but the BDSM scenes were spicy as ever and the building of this found family/community was sweet. Definitely a formula though and very familiar types of MCs, who all have very similar temperaments to previous Sinclair couples. Also the running off of criminals, “not in a small town” vibe hits a little different for me nowadays, (thanks a lot Aldean 🙄), so there’s that. New readers need to pay attention to content warnings though as there are references to violence on page, SA and child abuse, kidnapping. But I can always depend on Ms. Sinclair to give me safe, sane and consensual BDSM romance and she delivered.

Another wonderful story!!

The Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series is really good and I loved this newest book. Poor Erin was quite a victim of her despicable husband and at first it looked like she may have trouble when she was forced to relocate after leaving him. Some of the town's folks were mean but the rest were accepting, especially after she proved herself at the auto repair shop and the library. I wanted to know how the story ended but didn't really want it to end because it was such an intensely entertaining story. I loved seeing the Dark Haven folks show up for the party and the takedown of the criminals at the end of the book!

I highly recommend this series but would suggest that new readers of Cherise's books start with the Shadowlands series and work their way through that one to Sons of the Survivalist, and then Mountain Masters.

I totally love slipping into the book world of Cherise Sinclair’s, I could so go visit… I adore her reads and they way they make you think and feel!

This story is totally worthy of 5 stars… I couldn’t put it down, as I happily breathed into those mountains, their colours, smells and feelings of glorious beauty!

Words that stood out to me were the “Philosophy of values: each person has an unspoken contract with the world - with humans and animals and the earth - and our contract with the whole world is as valid as the various other obligations we owe to our spouses, family, friends, and even our country. So when deciding what course to follow, you must weigh it all… and sometimes, there’s no perfect answer.”

Thanks again Ms. Sinclair for the wonderful experience!!!

I really felt for Erin at the start of this one. From want to divorce her husband, to finding out horrible things about him, to how she was treated in her new town. She didn't deserve any of it. While it took a bit she did manage to win over people by just being herself, of course having the backings of a Masterson didn't hurt. It was fun to see Wyatt fall for Erin and Erin fighting it all the way. It was also fun to see people realize that the person they thought Erin was, was not who she really was and none of that was like how her husband was. The drama at the end was crazy! I was glad that Erin managed to keep a clear head and that the others were able to react to help her.

This is a great book. The characters, both new and old, made me so invested in the story that I couldn't put down the book. It has a good pace and the relationship develops without feeling rushed, the sex scenes are frequent but in a way that enhances the reading experience rather than being the main focus.

The events of other books in the series are referenced several times, which is natural since there are many recurring characters, but the events are always summarised is a neat way so that even new readers of the series won't feel confused.

Fantastic yet again!

I loved the fact that Erin was a strong independent fierce subbie, and her Dom let her flourish.
The story moved at a good pace and held my attention throughout. Love also catching up with all the previous characters, whenever a Cherise book comes out I know it's going to be amazing, and I wasn't wrong.

By now it is clear that this author has ups and downs, unfortunately this book for me does not rank among the best, but it will be better next time, I think.

Ormai é chiaro che questa autrice ha degli alti e bassi, purtroppo questo libro per me non si colloca tra i migliori, ma andrá meglio la prossima volta, credo.

Couldn't Put It Down

I read this one in a single sitting because I couldn't imagine putting it down. I loved everything from the scary action bits to the soft and spicy romance.

Well, I didn't love reading how Ms. Sinclair described Men In Black as an old movie but that's more of a me thing. xD

I"m a big Cherise Sinclair fan and this book doesn't disappoint. The blend of romance and sex is spot on. Wyatt is a great Dom who loves to play with his sub's "womanly bits" and boy does he play 🔥
Add a touch of mystery/danger and this book is a perfect exemple of why I love Cherise's books

Another homerun.

Honestly, I think even the worst Cherise Sinclair book is awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed this one from start to finish. My only complaint that dropped a star was yet another kidnapping. It's become such a tired trope. As much as I love and respect what an incredibly talented author Cherise is, I am completely over the kidnapping of the heroine. Could my favorite romance authors please, please, PLEASE, find a different kind of conflict to overcome?

I've had to take a break from the romance genre in its entirety because I'm just so tired of this predictable scenario showing up in book after book after book. It's starting to feel forced into plots at this point. Perfectly good stories will be moving right along, keeping me turning pages, and then here it comes again. Twist the plot up to make way for a kidnapping.

Don't get me wrong, I love strong female leads who work their way out of bad situations. Erin is a wonderful mix of strength and vulnerability. I was cheering her on the entire way. I'm just burned out on it being an overdone plot conflict crutch. I know Sinclair can write amazing stories with exceptional characters. Surely she can find a way to write a great book without anyone being taken away and abused by the bad guys. I do love her books and will keep reading to see if she ever pulls it off. Believe it or not, I still look forward to her next book release. She's still my favorite go-to author for BDSM. Solid 4 stars for this one!

I liked this book but it has far less kink in it than is typical for Cherise Sinclair.

I think we are setting up for two books I’m excited for though :)

Been a minute since we've been in the Masterson world.. We finally get Wyatt Masterson's story.

Erin has just moved to town after leaving and divorcing her sleaze bag politician husband. Half the town isnt throwing out the welcome wagon due to problems her ex brought to the town in the past. She just wants to start fresh and get a job doing what she loves - being a mechanic.

Wyatt Masterson has just returned from a mission a little worse for wear. Even though he's been thinking about one day finding the one he sure wasn't expecting to find himself fascinated with a woman carrying baggage.

All the couples from the Mountain Masters/Dark Haven series make an appearance which I loved. All those Dom's were needed when Erin's ex's past comes haunting.

I liked this book more than last too in Mountain Masters series. Story was similar to other author stories. Still a lot of important things were happening off pages. Like conversation between brothers about leaving for Africa. It was just short conversation and everything was solved. Like lot of story plots in the book.
I was a little scared after reading author note, but fortunately my concerns were unfounded.

Surprising twist in the series

I have loved most of the Bear Flat books in this series..more so than those of Dark Haven.

I would suggest reading the series though as there are so many secondary characters that have unique stories that you may be otherwise lost.

And Wyatt and his kink? A mice change from some of the more formulaic BDSM tales...the suspense was good too. And the heroine was pretty non traditional and made for a good change...

A new Cherise Sinclair book is always welcome! This hasn't been my favorite series, but it's still been pretty solid.

Erin is a familiar archetype. Wounded, beat down, forced to start over after a very public marriage fail with a slimy politician who scammed her too. Enter the bigger-than-life Mastersons, and here we go.

Pros: really well fleshed-out leads. Erin and Wyatt are both a clearly detailed duo. Readers get a strong picture of these leads along with enough backstory to understand motivations and behaviors. And the numerous secondary characters, many of whom already have books, don't suck up a lot of repeat storytelling, which is a big complaint of mine in many series. CS does an amazing balancing act between sharing enough about previous books to keep a new reader up to speed, yet not drowning repeat readers in the details. The romance is relatable and realistic. I can definitely believe these two are attracted and realistically fall for each other. The sex is pretty hot as well, although a bit light in quantity.

Cons: the suspense/action is blocky. Events, along with the template kidnapping, seem to be dropped into the story here and there but still didn't feel like a flow. The bad guys were predictable and 1-dimensional. I don't need a fully realized villain, but I also don't appreciate just your basic thug with a pot belly and a bunch of tattoos. Why do they always have tattoos? I love tattoos. Yeah, I get they're supposed to be stereotyped "gang" members. But if it's one thing we've all learned in the last couple of decades, it's that we should be a ton more scared of educated dudes in suits.

Here's my real issue in this book. The sex. I'm a big fan of BD, but a lot less of SM. Yet the trend continues in Cherise Sinclair books as well as a bunch of others to bring on the sadism hot. Yes, I read the intro that warned of a pushy Dom. This was way beyond that. I'm totally good with some pain. I'm not good with a whole lot of pain followed by more pain topped off with even more pain and then hey, here's some more pain. Orgasms just don't seem justified with all the sadistic pain. I see a trend with sadism in a ton of other books, and it's just not my thing. And yes, Wyatt did way too much pushing and applied too much pressure, too much for my taste. In fact, he just sailed on with his own agenda pretty much without regard. I'm not totally sure why he bothered to even warn Erin about upcoming sex acts or ask about safewords, which was pretty rare in this book. (Although honestly, if my man looked like the cover dude, I'm not sure I'd say NO to anything he came up with. Holy guacamole. I actually considered a paperback just for that guy. Fanning myself vigorously here.) Sure, I hate the trend of seeking consent every 2.8 seconds and will drop a book hot for that. But the opposite is not naturally ok. There's a whole lot of middle ground to explore, and BDSM Land is the place to explore it. The sex in this story wasn't as hot for these reasons. I didn't feel the sexual connection with these two. There also seemed to be less sex overall, which is sad. I'm sure reviewers go back and forth on that, so I don't envy CS on that point.

I did like this book and look forward to another. But wow, I would love some toning down on the sadism. And a little more sexy discussion before acts would not be remiss.

It's been a while since we were in Bear Flat and I couldn’t wait to return. Let just say I'm always waiting for the next Cherise Sinclair's book to come out and this was no different.

Wyatt has been through some stuff that has deeply scarred him if you've read the previous books you know what I'm talking about. So he's trying to find his way, he was able to do that when he joined the peace corp to help others. So he's been away in Africa for some time helping the people there.

He's finally back home in the small town he grew up in and is getting back to normal life and the everyday of the wilderness business he runs with his family. Kind of getting reacquainted with the small town and everyone in it. And everyone is happy to have him back.

Erin been through a lot. She had to deal with her stupid ex-husband and his pompous behavior before finding out that he was doing things that were illegal. She immediately gets away from him as she should but the only place to go is to Bear Flat where her mother left her a house that was only in her name.

The only problem is the town hates her because they think she had something to do with her rotten politician ex-husband putting a prison in their small town. Which wreaked havoc. She tries to just do what she needs to, to work and save to get away, but she run into Wyatt and is instantly attracted to him.

I always love how the characters slowly come together and everything feels so natural and not at all forced. Wyatt is trying his best not to like or get close to Erin but they are thrown in situations where they have no choice but to get to know each other better and he starts to see Erin for who she really is.

One thing I love about Cherise Sinclair's books is that she never discriminates when it comes to jobs for the women or men. If they is something they like to do she'll let them do it and it feels natural and not like she's trying to make them a certain way. Erin was a mechanic and she did it quietly but well. I love seeing this.

Erin starts to find her footing and the people in town start to like her and come to realize that she isn't like her husband. Some hold on to the hatred for a bit longer but they eventually she that she wasn’t as bad as her ex.

Things get intense when Erin's ex's crimes come back to haunt her. And this is where things gets scary. Erin and Wyatt are tested.

Wyatt and Erin just come together so naturally and fit so well together. I read somewhere that someone says every time they read a book by this author it feels like a warm hug and that’s exactly how it feels to me. She's my comfort read and I just feel happy when I read her books.

Another great book! I can't wait for Morgan's story. Or any book for her really.

Wyatt & Erin

I just LOVE this Series!! In fact as I was reading this & seeing the other characters that I've already read about, I was thinking that rereading the whole Series would be a BLAST!!!

From the city Club Dark Haven & Serenity Lodge in Bear Flats, I've enjoyed every bit of the journey. Finding out that the Masterson brothers were all Done was a great surprise. We may have found out before but I don't remember. It's been a while since I read the other stories.

Cherise definitely has a way with scenes! (BDSM Scenes) Makes me think that maybe she is in the Lifestyle! Which makes sense that I enjoy the books so much. Being in the Lifestyle myself, I know when something is real or not. And if I don't know I have many friends who can tell me in detail whether something can really be done or not. And the mistakes made if there are any.

As you may be able to tell, I've missed this Series & the characters. Seeing Wyatt fall in love & finally let go & go for Erin was fun to watch. Even Erin was great fun, she planned on becoming a crazy cat lady who lived alone in the mountains in the small town of Bear Flats. A lot of people judged her because of her ass of an ex husband!! Slowly, they learned that she's nothing like him. In fact is the complete opposite, loving, caring, & very giving!! Oh yeah & one Hell of a Mechanic!!

Yeah I'm going back to the beginning & rereading the Series. And seeing that I read this one a while after purchasing it, maybe, just maybe the next one is almost ready to be released!!! I definitely want to read the scenes where Morgan the Sadist finds his little masochist!! I don't play that intensely but I LOVE reading a great Sadist scene. It really gets me going. Hmmmm can I find a Sadist who wants to teach me to love what He has to offer???

Thank you Cherise!! I love the way you write & keep your faithful readers coming back for more!! LMAO

Masters of the Wilderness by Cherise Sinclair
I was given this book from the author for a review.
Another delicious book from Cherise. I enjoy her stories because they always have some bite (Like my pun) with the plot but make sure to give plenty of spice for us reader.
This is another great addition to the series. Any fan will need to read it to keep up with all the Masters.
Erin has run to her cabin after turning on her real DB of a husband. I mean dude was investigated by the FBI need I say more?? REAL GREAT GUY *eye roll*
To say Wyatt and Erin didn’t hit it off initially would be an understatement. After meeting with her a few times, he starts to look at her different and wonder about this woman. He began to notice things about her that drew him to her.
Erin was not looking for anyone which is understandable after everything she was dealing with thanks to her ex. However, much like all Cherise books these two are drawn to each other. OF COURSE we have some drama and plot twists to deal with surrounding Erin but that’s what us readers love along with the Hea/HFN in stories.
Trust me when I say you need this books ASAP if you are a fan of the series or Cherise.

In Master of the Wilderness, as always, Cherise Sinclair draws us into a world where the characters become our friends and happily ever after is taken for granted-after some hair-raising narrow escapes.

Erin Palmer is as much a victim of her husband’s machinations as are the townspeople of her vacation home, Bear Flat, California. Left with only the house after her politician husband fled the country just ahead of the law, she moves to the little mountain town and obtains work as a mechanic. She vows not to trust her faulty judgement in men again, but Wyatt Masterson shakes that resolve. Masterson also avoids entanglements, especially with local women, but soon enough, the little mechanic captures his heart. Can he convince the wary young woman to take a chance on him?

In the meantime, Erin’s husband is tortured and killed, but the bad guys are still trying to find something that puts not only Erin, but much of the town in danger. Can Wyat face the possibility of killing again in order to save the women he loves? Erin is smart, nice and courageous, while Wyatt is simply yummy. We get to renew our acquaintance with other characters from the series, and discover who is pregnant and who is still together.

Cherise is a master story-teller, giving us an exciting, thriller peopled with folks we’d like to have in our lives. This book earns a well-deserved five hearts.

It's been far too long since I've read a new Cherise Sinclair book. It was great visiting old friens from her Mountain Masters and Dark Haven series. It may just be time for a series re-read. But first, boy did I love Master of the Wilderness. Wyatt Masterson is a pillar of the Bear Flat community. He's as genuine as they come, well like and respected business co-owner and family oriented man. Then there's his Dominant side that's ever present both in and out of the bedroom. Erin Lockwood has roots in Bear Flat but it's been a long time since she's reconnected with them. As the former wife of a politician it's amazing how dull and bland her life had become trying to live up to his expectations. She needs to reinvent herself but finds that she's judged to be guilty by assobecause of her ex-husband's crimes. She needs to keep her head down and do what she loves, fixing things mechanical and otherwise, while establishing herself as a trustworthy person. Having Wyatt take an interst in her both intrigues and terrifies her. A relationship is not what needs but boy does he know how to tick her timer. Introducing her to D/s is only part of the equation, keeping her safe by finding out who's threatening/harassing her.

I've read just about every other book in this series, and while they've become wildly predictable, there's something so very comfortable about knowing exactly what you're in for...:)

Erin's been left penniless by her cheating louse of an ex-husband, so she's forced to retreat to a run-down dump of a house that she's inherited. Fortunately, she's able to convince the local garage to take a chance on her mechanic's skills, and she sets about getting her life back together. Wyatt Masterson can't help but notice the gorgeous new-comer, but he's reluctant to get involved with a local, so he steers clear...until he discovers that Erin's life is shadowed by troubles that she didn't cause. As Wyatt and Erin grow closer, their mutual attraction flares to life. However, Erin's not sure she's ready for any kind of new relationship. Can Wyatt convince her to take another chance???

Interestingly, there's not a whole of kink in this story, which is kind of a relief??? But Erin's a sweet (if hopelessly naive) heroine. Wyatt (who I happen to think looks a LOT like Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone) is a pretty standard Sinclair hero: gorgeous, kind, and def in charge!

Sometimes you just need a uncomplicated love story, right???

Master of the Wilderness is book 10 in Cherise Sinclair’s Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series and a fabulous addition to this captivating and intriguing world. Readers return to the majestic mountain vista of Bear Flat and reconnect with characters from previous books, both family and friends.

When I started this story, I quickly realised that Wyatt would become one of my favourite characters with his rugged, gruff appearance, his calm demeanour and tender heart. The Masterson brothers are all remarkable, but Wyatt has a little something that draws you into his sphere.

But as any true lover of Cherise Sinclair books knows, her writing wouldn’t be true to form if there wasn’t an element of drama, breath-taking suspense, and edge of your seat danger too! I was held captive and enthralled as Wyatt and Erin’s story unfolded, and Ms Sinclair ensured an even balance of anticipation and awe throughout the storyline and a plot that kept this reader riveted till the very last page.

Master of the Wilderness is a credit to the author and an exciting and entertaining read. I hope I’m not waiting too long for Ms Sinclair’s next undertaking.

exciting

Another excellent book from Cherise Sinclair. This is full of emotion as well as passion as Erin initially plans to leave and divorce her horrible husband only to overhear him blackmailing a politician but before she can get to the FBI to inform them , he leaves the country taking all their money and leaving her broke. Erin moves to the only place she has Bear Flats , only to discover that her husband’s appalling behaviour has influenced some people to treat her with as much disdain by association. Wyatt Masterson has finally returned to town following a time doing humanitarian work in Africa where he got caught up in some violence and had to battle his way out so got slightly wounded. Wyatt sees Erin at the local bar and immediately takes notice. This is their story linked with some of the gang from Dark Haven so if BDSM is not your kink, you have been warned . Romantic suspense and a bit of BDSM, what’s not to love?
