Demigod Mentality

Rate this book
Demigod Mentality by Marcus Follin – The Golden One – contains philosophical musings as well as plenty of autobiographical elements.

I, Marcus, wrote Dauntless in an unpersonal style – Demigod Mentality, on the other hand, was written straight from my heart. Therefore, the book contains stories and insights from my own life. I also endeavour to present the psychological mechanisms that determine human behaviour, and the metaphysical underpinnings of the modern world and European civilisation. Moreover, I present some practical teachings that can aid the reader along the great journey towards one’s ideal self.

The book has 276 pages and contains the following chapters:

Behold my Magnificence

Chapter 1. Mentality, Magic, and Metaphysics

Chapter 2. Who Am I?

Chapter 3. The Story of Who We Are

Chapter 4. Archetypes and the Philosopher Prince

Chapter 5. The Higher and the Lower

Chapter 6. Cultural Observations

Chapter 7. Men and Women

Chapter 8. The Runes

Chapter 9. Europe and the Indo-Europeans

Chapter 10. European Religion

Chapter 11. Spiritual Musings

Chapter 12. The Greatest Glory

Reading "Demigod Mentality" was like diving into a new world I didn't know I needed. This book isn't just something you read; it's something you feel and experience. It's packed with insights about spirituality, our roots in European history, and personal growth that made me think and see many things differently.

Marcus has a way of writing that grabs you. He talks about the Runes, the rich tapestry of European and Indo-European history, and the spiritual paths of our ancestors in a way that's deep but very approachable. It's like having a conversation with a friend who makes you realize how important it is to know where you come from and how that shapes who you are.

What really hit home for me was how Marcus talks about feeling that connection to something greater, like the gods. It's more than just words; it's about seeing life with a different kind of positivity and strength.

All in all, "Demigod Mentality" is more than just a book. It's a source of motivation and a reminder that we all have the power to connect with our history, enrich our spirit, and grow into the best version of ourselves. I'm super thankful for the journey this book took me.

P.S. I'm also a big enjoyer of the natural (a very overused word, but fitting in this case) products Marcus offers. His pure whey without additives or sweeteners in particular .

This book is mandatory reading for all men of European descent, particularly those in their 20s and 30s.

Mr Follin writes expertly about how to become a man of honor, strength and courage. The book provides many valuable insights into training, philosophy, religion, politics and personal conduct.

If more men were like Mr Folin and his vision of the Demigod; Europe would be a safer, stronger and more prosperous place to live.

Onwards, to adventure!

"Demigod Mentality" by Marcus Follin is a book that's not just a read, it's an experience.
I've gone through it three times, soaking in its teachings and reflecting on how it complements Marcus's previous work, "Dauntless." This book dives into Marcus's personal stories and background, making it feel like you're having a chat with the man himself.

For the OG followers, it sheds light on the Lat's Brah days, serving as a poignant memorial for the name. However, it goes beyond nostalgia, delving deeper into why a change was necessary and why the noble title "The Golden One" now resonates more authentically with Marcus.

It's an easy read, not because it's simple, but because it's so darn interesting.
I couldn't put it down the first week I had it; it kept me up way past bedtime. The title really sums up what you'll find inside, and I believe every man with an high thumos should give it a go.

I'm hopeful that I'll keep a copy to share with my future son someday, so we can meditate upon it and its ideas together.

Reading this book felt like having a direct line to Marcus's thoughts. It's hard to get into specifics without giving away the good stuff, but trust me, it's worth every page.

"Demigod Mentality" is a must-read that'll light your fire, leave you feeling empowered and ready to take on the world!
Because of it a 5 star review is given.

Onwards and upwards!

If you are a young man of European descent, consider this mandatory reading to improve yourself and your life!

I loved "Dauntless" when it came out, and Demigod Mentality is beyond a worthy successor.

Marcus is capable of inspiring greatness and self-improvement to a degree I have not ever seen elsewhere. This is particularly impressive considering English is not his first language, yet it is flawlessly written nonetheless. Do not make the mistake of thinking this some kind of dry read, there is a lot of "fun" to be found within it as well, as the natural charisma of the author translates through the pages as easily as in his videos.

It is, I would daresay, not possible to read this book without being inspired to do SOMETHING, probably many things, better in and with your life. You will come out of it a better (and more educated) man for having read it.

I read this in good faith, but have to conclude it is not good. In Dauntless I looked past the competent but simple writing (being bi/multilingual is not a pass), lack of depth, and inconsistent framing, but in this one I can't. To summarize:

-Heavy use of historical examples and philosophical quotes, but very little original thought or doctrine. It's basically a whole bunch of micro-essays on a whole bunch of topics. If I wanted to read Evola, I'd read Evola. If I want to learn about runes, I'd buy a book on runes. This book is insufficient on any one topic, but touches on as many as it can with less of a clear aim than Dauntless.

-More hollow criticisms of Christianity, mostly echoed from others that have already been thoroughly refuted in the past, such as from Daniel Forrest and Nietzsche. Follin knows nothing about Christianity other than what is deemed fashionable opinion by current neopagans. The White race's apex was driven by Christianity, which was needed to realize its full potential. The decline of Christianity has made the race follow suit, and even in Sweden, Mr. Follin enjoys the civilization that was built on Christendom's back, not paganism's. The current diseases it suffers are from outside Christianity.

-The autobiographical portions are torturous. I don't care what workout you were doing while you waiting for an internet poll to decide if you could be deemed "Lats Brah". I really don't. I don't care about your thoughts on Warhammer 40K and The Witcher, either. Follin is a good "tribe member", but he's not done enough of note to justify a memoir. He seems to run a good business and have helped some young men, but his "journeys" through strength training and a little military service are not unique or special.

-Bizarre defenses of homosexual authors, and random musings on American identity. He quotes the Emma Lazarus poem on the Statue of Liberty without addressing that it was added after the fact and by a non-American jew, other than in a cute, vague parenthesized quip about it. If you cannot write on a subject completely and honestly, then don't write about it.

Much is repeated from Dauntless, such as on the sexes and sex. By the time I got to Chapter 9, my good faith had ran out and I no longer trusted his writing on races and religions to be reliable. He seems unwilling to disagree with golden calves like Nietzsche. I skimmed the rest.

The little value in this book could've been incorporated into Dauntless, but I've seen enough to decide Follin will never, in his current form, be an important philosopher or mover of the masses. He still has some good influence and would be fit for a lower leadership position, but that's it. If he embodies the traits he claims to, he would not shy from these critiques or demand the bar be set any lower.

For the first time in over a decade, I bought a physical book, "Demigod Mentality" - the beautiful hardcover edition reflects the profound message within about the striving for beauty and excellence. Beauty is not vain or shallow, beauty has the most pragmatic philosophical value because time destroys almost all beauty (with the exception of a book like this) that is not maintained. Beauty is the most striking reminder that we shouldn’t procrastinate, we have limited time to pursue what we want in life. We should take risks and go after what we want because we’ll be dead one day.

When my wife's beauty brings heavenly fire to every cell of my body, that lust is my genes whispering: Memento Mori - "You're going to die one day. Take a chance on love and create new life in your image."

The quote on the back cover strokes the Promethean flame within me...
“You can lower yourselves to the level of the beast, but you can also be reborn as a divine creature by the free will of your spirit. Man can become what he likes - subhuman or superhuman, as he wishes.”
― Pico Della Mirandola

What a joy to read, a real page-turner! A most worthy followup to the authors previous book - Dauntless. Although similar in style and content, Demigod Mentality is much more personal. Some of which is highly relatable.

The book deals with various topics of interest: metaphysics, European history and religion, politics, culture, fiction, philosophy, esoteric mysteries, the spiritual.
As another reviewer pointed out - The book is a great source of motivation on a personal level, but it also highlights what is so interesting and great about Europa and it's people, and why it's worth protecting.

I’m sure I will reread this many times in the future!

Excellent book. Demigod Mentality is an interesting read that serves both to illuminate certain European cultural influences and truths, while also elaborating on the author's unique worldview born from various events and places from his life.

Overall quite a compelling read, and evicts strong feelings of familiarity with those familiar with Mr. Follin's other works, including Dauntless or his short-form essays and video content.

I've been a follower of the teachings of the Golden One for many years now. Demigod Mentality compliments Dauntless and his Podcast perfectly for all the topics and discussions he covers. I read this book cover to cover in less than a week. Keep up the great work Marcus.
