Wouldn’t it be nice if you could snap your fingers and instantly create a thriving church? The reality is that church health is decided not by a single technique but by foundational health that involves structure, values, purpose, and relationships. With that larger picture in mind, church leadership coach Eugene Wilson presents in this book five factors that lead to a healthy church culture.
Whether you’re a senior pastor, a staff pastor, a ministry leader, or a student of church growth, this book will guide you through core reasons churches thrive or struggle. Following the conversations of a young pastor seeking the advice of a seasoned pastor, this fable outlines five barriers that inhibit church growth and what we can do to overcome them. You’ll enjoy the story and no doubt see yourself in the fable’s characters, but most important—you’ll be given strategies to build a culture that empowers your church to thrive.
The fable Bro Wilson has written is a very good read full of nuggets for growth. And then the information at the last gives us tools for growth. Thank you Bro Wilson for another awesome book.
The book I read had 182 pages, but this site listed it as having 162 pages. With that said, the author wrote this story as a fable. However, at the end of the book, he wrote that the story actually came from his real-life experiences as a young Pastor. The book addresses five areas that can be a hindrance that can prevent the growth of a church; particularly its members.
Insightful read in easy-to-read fable format. Author’s experience lends to wisdom and truths for church administration and operation to aid, or which can inhibit, growth. The growth focus is people development, not merely numerical. Many practical, applicable recommendations in each of the “5 Reasons.”
A must read for every pastor and church leader! I especially appreciate the application section. I will be going over these pages time and time again to fully acquire and apply each lesson to my context.
