4⭐️ I came across this book through tik tok as booktok always gives me great recommendations and decided to give this super new book a try. I think this story has huge potential and I did greatly enjoy it.

The story follows Lilith - a fae princess arranged to be married to twin demons. She is forced to wear clothing that greatly hides herself and covers her face. To hide the abuse from her father underneath. Her twin fiancés have incredibly different personalities and immediately discover she is their mate. Insta lust from the twins while Lilith is very sheltered and has no idea of the world outside her fathers castle and no idea of physical intimacy. The story goes through to reveal everything is not a coincidence as it seems and Lilith is an extremely important figure with powers yet discovered. The way the author depicted the magical imagery is extremely beautiful - of Lilith being able to grow flowers, vines, and thorns based on her mood with flower petals falling from her hair and glittery fairy dust in the air when she is intimate with the twins.

Because this book is so fresh, there is a lot of edits and improvements to made, otherwise I’d give this book 5 stars. Here are things I’d like to see added, edited, or improved:

~>Grammar. There is some grammar mistakes here and there that can be a bit jarring. There is 1 repeated paragraph that could be taken out.
~>Lennox’s hair keeps changing color in the story, in a way that the author keeps forgetting even what his hair looks like - it was first described as red, then blonde, then dark blonde. I just like to imagine him with dark hair that matches his brother’s so they look more like twins
~>There are random names that appear here and there where I am questioning “who is that?” and then never mentioned again, as though the author has previous names picked out and forgot to change it
~>Even though the three are engaged to be married and Lilith is very innocent; I was expecting the sex scenes with her and Orian losing their virginity and her being with them freely would be a bit more… romantic and fulfilling? Like her first time is on a table… and then after that Lennox decides he has free reign to do whatever he wants since that boundary has been crossed. Don’t get me wrong, I love the spicy 🌶️ scenes, just was hoping for it to be more romantic since they are all falling in love rather than it be just about sex
~> She is gifted a snake egg and the mention of the snake hatching and coming to her rescue was a bit confusing. It also was suddenly being referred to as Cricket. I wish there was a bit more detail of Lilith bonding with the snake when it hatched and how she decided to name it Cricket.
~> That also brings me to wanting MORE detailed interaction scenes. Like I wish we could see Lilith talking to her sisters before she left their home, more family interactions between Lilith and her new demon family, more depiction of what “Hell” looks like because it is apparently set in a modern world but I was so confused on what it would look like, and just overall more story and world building details that would really fine tune this story.

Overall I did enjoy this book as things like grammar issues and inconsistencies don’t really deter me when it comes to a good story. If you like reverse harem, fates mates, magical beings, arranged marriages that blossom into love, demons and fae, then I highly recommend this book! 🤗

Grammatical errors galore

SO MANY SPELLING MISTAKES, I’m wondering if this book has been edited AT ALL??
By chapter seven (which started in the middle of a page on the heels of chapter six), I was fed up.

The same paragraphs were written twice in a row, sentences kept cutting off in the middle, the narrative switched from past to present tense on a whim, words were misspelled, the wrong conjugation was used a lot, sentence structure was garbage and confusing most of the time - for instance there was one sentece I can’t remember word for word but it went something like «No one told me that then where the two of you would was) ??

There were so many weird mistakes, spelling errors and gramatical mistakes that it made the book a chore to read.

Regret bying it honestly, should have read the preview first because there were enough mistakes in the first few chapters to make you reconsider a purchase, though I would have enjoyed it had the mistakes been edited out - which they should have been, at the very least half of them? How do you miss a sentence cutting off in the middle? How do you miss the same paragraph being written twice in a row? How do you miss the atrocious grammar in some of the sentences? Past and present tense in the same sentence, along with the wrong sentence structure IN ADDITION to the wrong conjugations? So many sentences should have been rewritten.

I had to stop reading because I feared this book would ruin my own grammar.

I really enjoyed this story. It was compelling & I wanted to keep reading it. Unfortunately there’s a bunch of grammatical error, fortunately the story was so good I finished the book. With some editing this book has such amazing potential!

After reading several reviews that criticized the book Lavender for its supposed abundance of spelling and grammar errors, I was pleasantly surprised to find that these criticisms were largely exaggerated. While there are indeed some errors and British English spellings present, they did not detract significantly from the overall readability of the story. However, the inconsistency in Lennox's physical description, particularly regarding his hair color, was a glaring issue that was difficult to overlook.

Contrary to some reviews, I didn't find the storyline to be nonsensical. Referring to Lily as a fairy throughout the story seemed appropriate given her supernatural nature, and the supposed shifts in narrative tense didn't bother me personally, perhaps due to my own internal dialogue tendencies.

The characters, particularly Orian and Lennox, were compelling in their own right. Orian's shy yet determined nature and Lennox's complex mix of confidence and insecurity added depth to their interactions with Lily. While the story hinted at intriguing elements such as Lily's mysterious powers and her past, I agree that these aspects could have been explored more thoroughly.

Overall, while Lavender may have its flaws, it also holds promise for future installments in the series. With further development and clarification, many of the perceived shortcomings could be addressed, potentially turning detractors into fans.

My favourite kind of books are the ones that get straight into the story, where you meet all the main characters instantly, this book had it and more.
I really liked the plot, characters and pace of this book, nothing felt too rushed. It has all the tropes and aspects of what I love in a book. It's also really nice seeing a MFC with a speech impediment.

My problem in this is that the writing is very sloppy, lots of spelling errors and sentences that make no sense, which I then have to guess what is meant to be written. I'm unsure whether this has been rushed or the author has no editor before it gets published, but that definitely needs work.
It doesn't bother me too much, what does is the way its written, its almost like 3rd person but switches from phrases like 'Lily walked away' to 'The fairy walked away', which is extremely jarring, just stick to one, because it then gets confusing and I think the POV has changed.

Also the paragraph formatting is absolutely horrible and almost made me stop reading because it's so annoying, I don't want a new sentence to start half way across the page, I hope this gets amended for future books, (unless there's a way to change this and I have no idea).

A bit confused on the description of Lennox, when he was first described, it said he has bright red hair so is named the 'Flame of hell' or something similar, but then it says he has blonde hair? I'm confused, unless his demon form has red hair? The explaining could be done better.

Despite my problems with this book, I really did enjoy it, it kept me entertained and the spicy scenes were really *chefs kiss*, so I'll definitely be picking up the next book in the series :) x

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
3 🌶🌶🌶

Definitely could use a bit more fine tuning, but at least the story is there.

Tropes
✅️Arranged Marriage
✅️Multiple Fated Mates
✅️Princes Of Hell
✅️Fae/Demons
✅️Multiple Points of View

Triggers
☑️Abuse

The first thing I noticed was that the book had really weird formatting. Every couple of sentences started a new paragraph.

A few more details to note...
🔸️Something really weird happens between chapters 4-6. Like they were placed out of order because it doesn't make sense.
🔸️The narrating keeps flipping from 1st to 3rd person randomly.
🔸️Many grammatical errors and misused words.

Points of View
🔸️Lillith
🔸️Orian
🔸️Lennox
🔸️Ruine (1 Chapter)

Lillith is a Fae princess who is promised to the Demon twins Orian and Lennox. Lillith and her 2 other sisters have been on a tight lease by their father after their mother died. Each daughter is a collection in their father's power arsenal and are used as he sees fit. Lillith has always been viewed as the flawed daughter. She has a stutter, and her powers don't regenerate they way her sisters do. All her life she has been fed stories of how aweful Hell is and how barbaric demons are. However, when she meets her future husbands, it couldn't be farther from the truth.

I'll admit though, some of the banter was pretty freaking funny between the brothers.

Orian
🔹️Dark Hair & Green Eyes
🔹️Has a claw mark scar across his face that breaks through one of his irises.
🔹️Quite, dark, and moody
🔹️Shadow Daddy vibes

Lennox
🔹️Golden Hair and eyes
🔹️Playboy
🔹️Light-hearted/playful

Lillith
🔹️Fae
🔹️White hair with Purple Eyes
🔹️Has wings
🔹️Stutters
🔹️Very timid and physically weak but has a strong spirit

Needs some major editing and honest beta reviews

This was rambling, choppy, so full of errors it wasn't funny, and lacks any continuity at all. Things happen, then other things happen, then more things happen, and none of it seems related. There's a background mystery about the sisters that's never delved into, before another mystery around them pops up. She leaves them behind, her soon-to-be mates and their family leave them behind, knowing they're going to be abused. Heck, Orian just got done picking stitches out of her mouth because her father sewed her mouth shut so no one could hear her screams. She's missing a wing because he cut it off with gardening shears. And they leave the 2 girls behind to that??? They never even confront the dad about it? W.T.F.?? Then it's like they don't exist at all until they do again a week or so later. She never learns about this new realm. She never learns how to dethrone her father in the other realm to protect everyone there. She never learns about her newly budding powers. She never learns about the mystery that's discovered by her in-laws. She just floats through everything with absolutely no depth. Things happen to her and around her and she barely reacts and never wants to take control. She's never had agency over her own life, and complained about that, but when given the chance it doesn't even occur to her. She doesn't try to learn about her own mates. I still am not sure how many siblings there are in her in-laws family. There's no world building, no character development, and no real plot.

Skip the Novella, read the book

How do you get hooked on story? Anticipation.
The story starts by a father giving of away the bride. No big deal, right? WRONG! This isn’t a wedding, it is what would be a considered a treaty or a gift to keep the demons at bay.
Now don’t feel sad for the father, he is ruthless and couldn’t care less about his daughters. If it were up to him, his daughters would be kept in a cage never to been seen.
Now as for the grooms. Yes, there is more than one! Identical twins to be exact, well except for a few battle scars but nevertheless they are complete opposites.
One twin is broody and rough but becomes caring and protective and bit possessive but come on who wouldn’t when they set eyes on their mate.
Now as for the second twin, he is a what we love to call a man who has enough passion to pass along, yup a bit of a man-whore. Don’t get the wrong impression about him, a demon with sex for energy becomes a one woman lover.
Our main girl, Lilly, maybe small and shy but she is curious and fierce. This shy princess will be the hero we all want to become.
The story is held in Hell, but don’t late the name fool you. Where is there is dark, there is light.
The people Lilly meets become her family who bring her happiness and security. A family, a realm she is willing to protect.
Not giving anymore away, but be aware it does leave you at cliff.

The Pros: The plot of this book has some real potential. Orian and Lennox are funny and charming and exciting to read about. Lilith didn’t have as much backbone as I had hoped she would, but overall she had a decent character development throughout the book. The world descriptions and spicy scenes were good and well written.

The cons: I saw a TikTok that the author had posted and mentioned that she had a bad editor and lost contact with her. Sadly the book makes that very clear. There are errors throughout the entire book. The queen is introduced as Odessa, but she is also called Ophelia? Not sure if that was just overlooked but it can be confusing where there are multiple characters you are trying to track and their names change. This was split POV, but multiple times the pov would randomly shift to Orian when it was in the middle of a Lennox chapter? There were some scenes that were written twice and were confusing to read over because they didn’t make sense. Maybe sentences were repeated or stopped halfway through, making you wonder how it was supposed to end? Several parts of the story had no explanation and things were pushed under the rug. Maybe this will be better in the 2nd book? The plot twist at the end was unexpected but it wasn’t explained very well so that was a bit confusing. Overall I really did enjoy the plot and that’s why I pushed through, I just wish it would have been easier to read.

Good Plot, Mediocre Delivery

This is a review of the first book “Lilac”. The story itself is great. Attention grabbing and thrilling. But unfortunately, it’s like reading the rough draft and not a finished product. There were paragraphs that were repeated with one or two words difference, missing sections of information from one situation to the next, and the transition from different POVs was confusing at times. It’s written in the third person but it proceeded to be confusing when they referred to the character as “Lilith” “Lily” and “Fairy” during the same chapter. Example: (This is not an actual section from the story. Just an example made on the spot.)“Lilith didn’t know what to do. So the fairy proceeded onwards anyways. Little did Lily know-“and so forth. Along with a few grammar errors, punctuation and the like, it resembled the rough draft of the story and not a completed, corrected and looked over product. Otherwise, if this was fined tuned, it would be an absolute thriller. I loved the plot, and the build up of information and the way it pulls you in with hints here and foreshadowing there. As well as the budding romance between the three characters, it has absolutely great potential. If you don’t mind overlooking a couple of errors and filling in blanks, then don’t hesitate to read this book.

I'd give this a very solid 3.5.
Sure, this has a ton of grammatical errors, but I genuinely enjoyed it. I've read a ton of fanfiction, so grammar isn't something that is hugely important to me unless I can't make sense of what the author was trying to say. That's not the case here.
I do wish I had noticed this was an unfinished series. This came out in 2023, so I won't get my hopes up for a book 2.
My only complaint I have is that I wish there was more concern on the FL's part about the sisters she left behind. I realize there is nothing they could have done, but she seemed to forget that her sisters were potentially being tortured.
While I liked the MC she was a little flat, but overall better than a lot of other characters I've read. I think she just needed a pinch more personality to round her out. However, it does seem to be pretty normal for characters who have been sheltered and don't have much life experience not to feel as fleshed out.
I loved the way the demons treated her. The whole family, including the love interests. Everyone was so kind, and the mmcs were both green flags at heart. Totally would have read the next book. I think if the author decided to revise and re-release, this could go places. It did seem like it needed a little something extra added to the plot, but it has a ton going for it.

I don't give up on books easily, this one I did. I wanted to like it but just could not.

The main character is annoying and 1 dimensional. The stutter sure I get it but does it have to be every time she stutters the word is written like that! I get it she stutters, you can write she stuttered instead of exemplifying it with "st-st-stuttered"

The mistakes!!! OMG the mistakes in this book!!! I can ignore a few here and there but it was CONSTANT and detracted from the story completely. The same 3-4 paragraphs were written twice making the book look longer when it really isn't. Writing is hard, but the fact that you do your readers such a disservice by allowing the amount of errors to fly and call it a book. I wanted a red pen to fix everything.

The two male characters were decent and at least a little more fleshed out. Their personalities were one dimensional.

It has potential, but should not have been published as is. Needs more work.

Absolutely Recommend 💯

This is the first book I've read by this author. I saw notes about a novella in other reviews; as I did not read that it isn't taken into consideration for me.

I loved all 3 of the main characters in this book. We really see our FMC grow in confidence and self-acceptance throughout the book. Both of the MMC are distinctive and have their own wonderful personalities. While there is a short scene with another woman, before one of the MMC meets our leading Lady, their is no OW drama or cheating.

The world building and descriptions are great and really added to the overall story. There isn't a ton of fluff or wasted time learning about the world. You learn with the FMC, which keeps the book moving. The story does end on a cliffhanger but still manages a solid ending of its own. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

A top-notch story!

So I can 100% say this is my favorite book I've ever read. Great story, delicious spice with TWINS! I read the first part of this book back when it was released under Lilac, and I loved it then, too.

I did not see that coming with who was opening the portals. I should have, but... blindsided me. Lennox and Orion are perfect partners, and I love how their relationship progresses with Lilly. They are enamored with her from first sight, and you can tell they really love her as they spend more time together. It gives you all the warm cuddlies. ☺️🤗 I'm not sure if this series is a continuous story with Lily or if the next book will be Genevieves, but regardless, I'm excited! Once this is available in paperback, I'm buying it. Absolutely fell in love with these characters 😍 💕 and I'll be waiting patiently for book 2.

Needs some TLC

This book needs an editor. There are a lot of misspelled and duplicated words. Quite a few redundant sentences where I think the author was working on phrasing. All of this took me out of the experience.

The overall plot of the book is interesting but needs help on details. I’m confused by the historical timeline. We got a brief lesson where random names were dropped but not much else. There were inconsistencies with names, at one point the queen is named Ophelia instead and Omen is mentioned. Not sure if that was supposed to be Brimstone or we’ll get more info on a missing brother (doubtful).
Characters were fun. More needs to be explored with the demon half.

I love the premise behind these books. I love the story the books are telling; the characters and the authors building of their histories. The writing though, is difficult to get through. There's a whole POV that is an alternate storyline of a scene. There's multiple spelling and grammar issues. I think if the author had some Beta readers, or an editor, many of these would have been caught before publishing.

Overall good story. Good characters. Good spice. I'm excited to get into the 2nd book to see where it goes.

I notated some spots that I found issues, but I didn't notate all of them.

Surprising in such a good way

SPOILER FREE

I was prepared for this to have a Hades/Persephone vibe. I was pleasantly surprised with a diverse world with tons of different angles. The angst, fear, betrayal, lust, and discovery were well thought out and paced nicely. For fated mates it wasn't just immediately a bang fest which you can appreciate. I'm very intrigued by the idea of 3 more Lunarians. I'm curious if they're usually sisters and such how one ended up so opposite. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I'm wildly curious about it now. I'm eager for book two!

I absolutely loved this book!
The world of the Fae and Demons kept me enthralled from start to finish.
This book finally took me out of my reading slump.
I didn’t even care about some of the grammatical & spelling mistakes, I just wanted to keep reading.
The book starts of with a bang, gets you right into the story(which I love) no world building to get through before you get to the story because you are already in the thick of it. I can’t wait for book 2

highly recommend!

Naturally downloaded this after seeing a tiktok (because who doesn't want two hot demon twins as mates).

Lilith is an extremely sheltered fairy forced into an arranged marriage with two princes of hell. Lennox and Orian are opposites and I just love the brotherly banter. The lengths they go to to outdo each other to impress their fairy is also adorable.

It was such an easy read and I loved the characters interactions and growing relationships. Odessa - Lennox and Orians mother is also a complete boss and I loved her.

DNF at 31%.

I was really looking forward to this book but my lord, the editing or lack thereof was awful. The format itself was really distracting. And the POV changes in the middle of a chapter with no indication on which brother it was, was confusing. Some scenes didn’t seem to flow at all. I kept having to flip back and forth on pages to try and make sure I wasn’t going crazy and I wasn’t, there were several paragraphs that just didn’t make an iota of sense.

I genuinely do think the plot had potential, but the writing was a headache to try to understand.

Booktok failed me this time😔☹️ the author’s vid made the book so tantalizing but sadly no. There were so many loopholes. Sometimes, a random name is thrown in and you have to figure out is that one of the twins’ many brothers/friends/dragon/snakes.

The story development and writing has a wattpad vibe to it. It’s not a bad thing! Just that I was expecting more depth to the book, more personality?

Read 60% and scanned through the remaining 40% because there wasn’t much action🗡️🙊 but if you like smut action, it’s pretty graphic haha!

I LOVE Orian but not enough to continue this series😭

I thoroughly enjoyed the initial release of this full story as the Novella published earlier in 2023. I patiently waited to devour the full length move and was not disappointed. I love reading romantasy, and I read a lot of it- and even I found this debut novel to be interesting and innovative. I’m really interested in seeing what happens next in this series and to read other works by this author.

I read Lilac when it came out earlier this year and said that I loved the story, but the book needed more editing. I would say the same for Lavender now. The formatting of the paragraphs, grammar, spelling, etc need more work. I do love the story and will definitely read the next book, but had hopes that more of the editing would be taken care of since she redid it. Maybe the next book will have a better editing process…

While I mostly enjoyed this book I will say the editing left me pretty frustrated. I enjoyed the overall story, it was entertaining and made me want to keep reading. On the other hand, this was almost a DNF for me just based on the amount of mistakes throughout the book. With some more editing this could be an amazing read. I look forward to a second book and just hope it gets the editing it deserves.

I wish I could give it a higher rating. The plot is so good and I love Lilith with my whole heart, however, the sheer amount of grammatical errors is astounding. The repeated use of certain words such as entirely and remotely was insane as well. Other than that I have zero problems with this book, I'm excited to read the next one, just wish there was more editing that was done before being released.

I really enjoyed the story line and characters. I wish we had more about the each family member. The main thing that was difficult was that the sentences didn’t always flow or make sense. I think the thoughts were a bit jumbled. I can’t wait for the next book and I think this author will improve with each one.

I devoured this book, loved the FMC and MMC’s and the world the author has created, and the spice was nice! I cannot wait for the next book - however - this book is in desperate need of editing, that is the only reason for the 4 stars, rather than 5. This book would have gone from great to amazing with some editing and further explanation in a few parts of the story.

So this book was really really good. The story and characters kept me enthralled and I adored it. Which is why I kept reading and gave it five stars. However their were moments of double sentences and paragraphs and wrong names listed through out the story. It definitely needed to be read through before publishing to make sure those things didn't get overlooked.

good but sometimes a little hard to read

I want to give this book 5 stars so bad. The premise and plot are amazing. However the grammar leaves a lot to be desired as different parts. Some sentences I had to reread a few times before I could figure out what they meant because it didn’t make sense grammatically. If not for that this book would’ve been an easy 5 stars.
