Gabe read that Elliott Mulvtihill -the director of S.A.F.E. - the newest arm of homeland security- say that Muti Hawass was the City Sniper. But agent Renata Fox of the same office told WBNX reporter that she had found information in the histories of the victims that indicated the shootings weren’t random at all. She added that if something so important about an investigation is off than it’s time to look at all the facts again. Gabe lowered the newspaper and looked at his boss -Gideon, whose office they were in. Gabe had first met Gideon years before when they both needed new identities. Gideon said Agent Fox’s theory has at least enough merit to question the case. Which could mean the sniper was still out there. Gideon knew Gabe’s background. There were not many men many men Gabe could trust with it. Gabe was Club Underground’s security chief. He also helped Gideon and his team on a couple of operations as well. Club Underground… when the desperate have nowhere else to turn… Gabe said to Gideon he was going after Mulvihilll. He plans to use the girl to get him. Staring out the S.A.F.E. office window Renata Fox wondered if she had made the biggest mistake of her life by blowing the whistle on the agency. More specifically Elliott Mulvihill. She told agent Paul Broden, one of the few employees who seemed willing to speak to her today, said her judgement was impaired. She only joined this S.A. F. E. office that summer after training in Virginia. Before that she’d been a corporate mediator with an advanced degree in psychology. This was her first job in law enforcement. Though she couldn’t be fired for going over the director’s head and speaking out, there were other ways to punish her, to make her quit. But she wasn’t going to quit. She couldn’t let her family be mired in humiliation and disgrace again. Gabe stopped Renata when she turned to walk away he said he believed her and he wanted to help her prove Hawass wasn’t the shooter. Renata said”I don’t get it,” “why a stranger would want to help me? What’s in it for you?” Than she agreed to have a drink with Gabe Under Gideon’s direction, gabe and others helped out people in dangerous circumstances, when they had no one else to help them. Gabe told Renata he was good at getting information from all kinds of sources. As Reneta got near her apartment, someone came out of nowhere and darted from behind. Before she could turn to face the person, the person’s cruel hands dug into her shoulders and shoved her into the closest recessed entrance of a shop. She forced herself around and seen the flash of a knife. Fighting the man she freed herself from the doorway. She pulled her gun out but her attacker got away. Renata went to the club to talk to Gabe . She was attracted to him but had to ignore that and not be distracted from finding out the truth. She told him that someone had been waiting for her with a knife. Renata thought maybe someone was on her side. It was a good feeling , even if she couldn’t take his help. He was a civilian.
I loved this book. A federal agent working with a civilian because because she had no other choice. Gabe and his friends help as they can and his friend Cass has psychic flashes which end up really helping. I loved Gabe and renata together and how they interacted. I loved the danger, suspense, intrigue, and action. I didn’t want to put this down and rarely did. It caught my attention from the start and kept it until the end. I loved the ending. I loved what Gideon and his team did for desperate people that had nowhere else to turn. I loved the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I highly recommend it.

Agent Renata Fox of Homeland Security Operation (S.A.F.E) targeted by an enemy when she reported the Feds unmistakenly had killed a wrong person that they believe to be Chicago Sniper. Suspiciously, her controversial report was dismissed and strenuously denied by the S.A.F.E director Eliott Mulvihil. She desperately determined to prove the truth behind it. As her life is on the fence, a mysterious stranger Gabriel Connor befriends and forced her to accept his help. Unsure on his motive, she decides to depend her life on him.

Patricia Rosemoor wrote an interesting plot proposition. If it was made in the right way, this book can be a great romance mystery and thriller novel. It is loaded with intermediate steamy scenes with an equal number of action scenes. What I appreciate about it is on how balance both scene are.

Regrettably, I had difficulty with the story progression and the protagonist character in this book. It is not fascinating enough. I could not recognize a factor that can impress me and lead me to turn to the subsequent pages. I understand that Agent Renata represents a new officer but she posses no critical skill and empathy, especially during an investigation to a civilian. And she is baffled all the way around. The chemistry between Agent Renata and Gabe chemistry was there but it feels unreal. It was merely forced, cliché and personal convenience

I had to read the first chapter a couple of times to understand what was happening. There were lots of characters introduced at once, strange names and heaps of facts relating to the killer and the investigation dumped within a few pages. I really prefer the beginning of books to be more streamlined and focussed - to introduce the main characters seamlessly and smoothly, so as a reader, I know which way the story will be heading and who I'm barracking for. That said, once I got into the second chapter I had a bit more understanding of what was going on.

There's lots of investigating, bad guys, organizations, and an overload of information etc and it really did take my attention from the H/h. I felt I didn't really know them as well as I should have and their relationship fell flat, as did the story after a while and I found my attention wandering. Sorry about that. The book is well written, don't get me wrong, it just didn't grab me and I didn't really care who the shooter was. I will read more from this author. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

Another winner in the Club Undercover series! In this book, Renata is a federal agent investigating a series of murders. When the suspect is killed during his apprehension, everyone wants to celebrate, but Renata thinks they got it wrong. When she tells her supervisor her concerns, she is dismissed and threatened for not going along with things. When Gabe, from Club Undercover, reaches out to her to offer help, he's the only one interested in delving deeper into things. Before long, they're dodging homicide attempts and working together.

This is a quickly moving story that fans of the genre will love. While Club Undercover plays a role, Gabe plays a prominent role, but keeps a number of very important secrets from Renata that add to the tension and mystery in the book.

If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love this book. Put this one on your TBR list - you'll be glad you did. The author is on my must read authors' list.

S.A.F.E Agent Renata Fox is in trouble at work as she refuses to give up the investigation into the Chicago Sniper. S.A.F.E and the police believe that the sniper was killed, but Renata doesn’t agree…she believes the sniper is still out there. Both the director and her co-workers believe that she is wrong and needs to move on. When Gabriel Conner from Club Undercover approaches her to offer his help, and possible help from his team, she refuses. Somehow the sniper has learned that she is still investigating and decides to eliminate her. She can take care of herself and does so on the first attempt, but when more attempts are made, Gabe has her back. Another great visit with the team at Club Undercover as they assist in the search and take down of the sniper. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Gabe cannot settle on the idea that Muti Hawass was the City Sniper, who was terrorising the populace. Renata has the ame problem, complicated by the fact that she works in the same office as the oaf who made that assumption!

When Renata ends up in trouble, she is put into contact with Club Undercover. She's not sure what to make of them but looking at her new bodyguard/partner isn't exactly a hardship!

But there are more people out to get Renata and some of them are a lot closer to home than she thinks!

I really enjoy this series. I love the way that the Club Undercover family have each others back and their "Special Skills" come in useful, especially Cass' flashes.

Having read the ones before was I ready for another one from this series. Renata and Gabe leads us through this one. Even though some thought danger was put down it really is ready to strike again. The mystery in this one is also deep with at times scratching your head will be the norm. As you get deeper in this questions are answered. This also has good chemistry. Sometimes they go back and forth with trust but that is normal I think in this. Good wind up also.

On the List continues the mystery and intrigue of the previous books in the Club Undercover series, and the highlights the relationship that evolves between Gabriel Connor and Renata Fox. A fast-paced, suspense laden story that is sure to keep the reader engaged from start to finish. I know the series is ultimately coming to a close, but I can’t wait for more!

It's an interesting and intriguing book. It's a good one for anyone who loves detective stuff. Agent Renata Fox always trusted her instincts when it came to the Law and men. She knew the feds had accused the wrong person of being the cold blooded Chicago sniper but her persistence somehow landed her on the real killers list. She needs help from her colleagues as well the mysterious Gabriel Connor/Griffith/Hague.
It's a beautiful romantic suspense.
