Give in to me is a small-town, steamy, instalove romance. The story was interesting, with the twins, Dean’s issue, and the custody fight.
Truth is I struggled to get past the first chapters, they couldn’t make me invest in the book. That changed as soon as Cailey and Dean met.
I liked their chemistry and Dean’s wit. He turned up to be more fun than what I imagined while reading the first chapters.
The 3rd person narrative was such a mood killer for me. It was a constant wall between me and the characters, not letting me get in touch with them and sometimes not being able to tell who’s talking. Some scenes ended without resolution while others were prolonged describing the same things more than once. I was slightly disappointed when the MCs didn’t get to have an in-depth conversation about their issues in the end, seemed a little rushed. Finally, the editing needs some polishing.
-3rd person POV -Spice: 2/5 🌶️
Overall: 3.25/5 ⭐️ - I enjoyed it but had potential to be sooo much better.

I ended up staying up until 2:00 a.m. reading this book all in one sitting, because I was unable to put it down. I would give it 10 stars if I could! The best book I read this year so far. Can't wait for the next book.

I freaking loved everything about this book. It was so swoony, heartfelt, emotional and spicy as hell. Dean Morgan is my new favourite book boyfriend and I’m staking my claim so back off ladies. I’m not usually a fan of Insta-lust but this was done so well. The scene on the plane really captured the beginning of their connection and depth of feelings. I loved Cailey. Such a fun, likeable character with a penchant for the f word. She was hilarious. With Caleb she was mama bear incarnate. You know that Cailey would fight until her last breath for her boy. As for Dean, his persistence paid off big time. When he said”Give into me” 🥵🥵. I would have ripped everything off and given into him in seconds. Yep, seconds, thirds, fourths, whatever he wanted. I cannot believe my first read of 2024 has been so amazing. Other books have a lot to live up to now. 2023 I had 6 6 star books, I am starting this year right with my first read, first 6 🌟
Thank you to Booksirens for introducing me to this fabulous book and an amazing new-to-me author.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more. This book is centered around Dean and Cailey. Cailey is going through a bitter custody battle with her no-good ex, Sebastian. He’s never wanted anything to do with Caleb, but since his mom found out she has a grandson, things have changed. Dean has accepted the fact that he can’t father children, but he doesn’t have to like it. Cailey and Dean meet on the plane and he helps her through the flight. She doesn’t care for flying at all. Cailey wasn’t even supposed to take this trip, but her twin, Hailey, was sick and they really need this job. Unknown to Cailey and Dean, they’re getting ready to be working together. No spoilers, so grab your copy of this fantastic book and see what happens. I just loved this book and I highly recommend to anyone that loves romance stories.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from BookSirens and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Give In To Me Book one in the Boots and Hearts Series
Dean is a southern divorcee who wants a family but is unable to have his own. Cailey is a single mom who is fighting to keep her son.
When asked to pretend to be her sick twin sister to interview Dean Morgan for a few days for their company, Cailey reluctantly agrees. On her way south she runs into a s3xy stranger on the plane who helps her through her fear of flying. When said stranger gives her his number to call, she ends up calling him when Dean cancels his interview. They spend a night of passion together but refuse to exchange names. Imagine their shock when said s3xy stranger ends up being Mr Dean Morgan himself and Cailey is stuck pretending to be her twin sister, or risk loosing not only her reputation but her son.
Beautifully written. I’m not much on the insta love vibe this book has going on but everything else is super sweet!
I've been a fan of Ms. Lalonde since her first book was released. Like hook line and sinker when's the next book. Her other series, the JTT task force are gritty edge of your seat romantic suspense novels. This series is a departure from that, although I loved it just as much. I hated that life got in my way and it took me almost a week to read it. Grr, why do husbands want to have dinner?! :) Caliey Heffner is hanging on by a thread, the sperm donor for her son, the man that has not wanted anything to do with said child since he found out she was pregnant, suddenly wants joint custody. Anyone who has been down that road knows it's never a cheap one, your lawyer, your child's lawyer, that you have to pay half of, and since said jerk is a professional hockey player, money isn't an issue to him, so he's just going to keep pushing until he gets what he wants. Never mind the man has never spent time with the child, he's going to push for full custody because she's "turning the child against him." He who left the child with his girl friend at the hockey game and Caleb wandered off trying to get home because when he asked to leave he was told no and was told he couldn't call his mom. Don't get this Mamma Bear started on that one. Enter the twin swap. Cailey's the homebody of the three Heffner kids, their brother Aiden is all over the world chasing extreme sports, and Hailey, Cailey's twin sister covers festivals, think Coachella, as an influencer and writes articles for the family travel magazine. When Hailey gets the stomach bug, Cailey takes her place. Off to Sedona Arizona she goes. Ms. Lalonde's male leads tend to be a bit Alpha, they love hard, and usually once, but they will protect their women no matter what. There have been tons of warm fuzzy feelings as I've read her book related to one thing or another her heroes have done for their loved one. Dean Morgan is no different. He is a control freak and that's due to events of his childhood. His Ex-wife, still business partner and best friend throws a wrench in works and plays match maker. She books a trip to Canada for him to look at potential properties for expansion across the border. Flight home conveniently ends up seated next to Cailey. Dean would be attracted to her instantly from the moment they collide in the airport and spill her coffee. His protective instincts fire and he wants to take care of Cailey, who refuses to give him her name, but she does get his number... not that she's ever going to use it... What follows is a ten-day emotional roller coaster, the best sex of Cailey's life, but the guilt of deceiving the Morgan family as to which twin, she was, the worry over her son. And then there's Cash. Oh, the feels, poor boy about to be orphaned as his Nana is very sick. Both she and Dean are instantly drawn to him, and all the puzzle pieces fall together for Dean, he's found his soul mate, and Cash is going to give him the chance to be a father. If he convinces her to come back across the border. I loved this new series and can't wait for the next book "Faith to Me" which is Dean's sister Faith's story. I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.
I adored this series starter by Edith Lalonde, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series (hurry up and write, ma'am). Cailey, with her uncontrollable potty mouth, is both endearing and hilarious. Dean is a solid and swoony hero. Add in both of their families, and you've got people to root for for several books to come.
Canadian Cailey is dealing with unexpected child custody issues when she's suddenly forced to take her twin's place on a business trip to the States. It's a trip that changes her life, but it also causes problems: Instalove of her life Dean doesn't know that Hailey is really Cailey. While she doesn't lie directly to Dean's face about her identity, she isn't truthful either. Normally, I dislike the false identity trope, especially when it lasts for the majority of the book. But here, both Dean and Cailey are so decent, you know there won't be misplaced anger when the truth comes out. They also really know each other, in spite their Arizona courtship being a mere 10 days, so I never really worried that either would hold a grudge.
That said, the depth of their feelings seems a little extreme for such a short time together; Cailey's intense maternal feelings for young Cash even more so. You will have to suspend your disbelief a little to get past the time issue, and I reluctantly did. It's worth it in the end simply to enjoy all these people becoming family.
Other mildly disappointing elements include the way the custody battle ends; for something that drove Cailey's need for subterfuge, it all ends a little too easily. Also, early on, she balks at the idea that a lost custody battle could mean having to move a couple of hours away from her family, but then days later is ready to move to a new country without looking back. Finally, for all that Dean's infertility has messed with his self esteem, he's remarkably ready to go all-in with Cailey. I wonder if he could've revealed it to her earlier on. It wouldn't have changed her need to hide her identity as the reasons for doing so remained.
All this aside, the book is really good. It's poignant when it needs to be and funny when it wants. I actually laughed out loud more than once, and that's something I rarely do.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
This is a beautifully written book by Edith Lalonde,I have been a fan of this author for a while but this story has to be my favourite, it had me laughing, it had me crying but most of all it kept my attention from the first page.
Cailey Heffner had a battle on her hands, it would probably bankrupt her but it was a battle that she had to win, loosing wasn't an option. Her ex, glamorous hockey player Sebastian, had decided that he wanted to be part of her son's life, the same son that he walked out on the day that he was born, the same son who in four long years had never had so much as a birthday card from him, the same son that he never wanted, just when she thought that things couldn't get any worse………
Cailey's famous influencer twin sister Hailey was ill, she had a ten day trip to Arizona planned, a trip that was essential for their company, there was no option, Cailey would have to go on the trip and impersonate her sister, no one would know, they were identical except that Cailey was petrified of flying and she knew the ramification if she got caught entering another country on her sisters passport.
Ruggedly handsome Dean Morgan made elite tractors as well as helping on the family ranch, Dean had issues that have prevented him from having a relationship until…..a feisty, beautiful, erratically nervous woman spilled her coffee on him on what was to be a very entertaining plane journey.
As this story unfolds, Cailey (as Hailey) is based at the Morgan ranch, the immediate attraction with Dean was off the scale, Dean had ten days to convince Hailey to stay but Cailey couldn't tell him her secret, with a broken heart she would leave Dean, and the family she had come to love, in ten days, she couldn't risk going to prison or loosing her son. This book has joy, laughter, heartbreak, passion and wonderful characters.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

Give In To Me is the first book in the Boots and Hearts Series. This book was such delight with the perfect amount of banter, steamy chemistry, a little intrigue and dash of suspense. It’s not only about second chances but character driven, healing romance, knowing yourself, your worth, maturing and being willing to take risks again while author delivered poignant, touching love story, sacrifice, family and unexpected connections. Give In To Me is a magical small town, single mom romance with fabulous writing and well deserved happiness in the making.
Cailey Hefner and Dean Morgan met unexpectedly. They are flirty, fun, tender, touching and heartwarming at times emotional and heartbreaking. The author portrays perfectly the depth of their emotions, attraction, explosive chemistry and relationship development. These two evoke every single emotion. She brings out his softer side, protectiveness and possessiveness. The flow and pace of the story, mistaken identity plot, added to their romance / development, as well as secondary characters. The gradual trust and love between them is everything. I loved their unique connection, pull and chemistry, no matter how much they tried to deny it. Author delivered an intense, forbidden, deliciously sexy, healing and gripping love story.
What an amazing start to a new series. This book is very enjoyable with a storyline that will hook a reader. Cannot wait for more from this world.
When you finish reading a book, do you ever feel as though you’ve just lived through an experience so moving that it's changed your world, at least for a moment? And that it's left you infused with that warm fuzzy glow that comes from a satisfyingly happy ending? That’s how I felt when I read Give in to me by Edith Lalonde and it’s going straight onto my list of favourite books of this year.
It is, first and foremost, a beautiful love story with some very sexy scenes, but it also explores the themes of parenthood and family, loss and heartbreak and the need to learn to move on and trust that things will work out.
Single mum to a four-year-old, Canadian Cailey Heffner is doing her best to get through a custody battle and the last thing she needs is to pretend to be her identical twin at some festival in the States – quite apart from the fact that she has a fear of flying.
Meanwhile, down in Arizona, Dean Morgan is comfortable in his rut, staying single and throwing all his energy and time into running his tractor business as well overseeing the arrangements for the upcoming festival, and he’s not pleased when his business partner and ex-wife obliges him to drop everything and make a business trip to Canada. The trip goes as planned until he boards the plane home and finds himself sitting beside a beautiful woman having a panic attack. Looking for ways to distract her, he ends up kissing her and it works! Despite their immediate attraction, the mystery woman resists his every attempt to find out more about her or even to agree to meet again – a challenge he is determined to overcome.
All of the characters are beautifully drawn and there is some lovely writing in there, like this for instance: "The kind of spark that started raging fires, she burned like his favorite whiskey and finished like a fine wine. He planned to take his time. Savor her taste."
Highly recommended. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Edith Lalonde really packed Give In To Me. It's filled with lots of emotions and feelings; good, bad and strong. There's humor, heartbreak, anger, remorse, loyalty, sadness and more. There'a an emphasis on family both those of the heart and blood related. It's about doing the right thing sometimes at the cost of happiness. But, most of all this is a white hot romance that just may set the pages on fire. The cast of characters is superb and I am really looking forward to reading each of their stories.
Who would have thought that slamming into a solid wall of muscle and spilling coffee everywhere would lead to one insanely hot, off the charts, crazy ten day affair? Certainly not Cailey Hefner nor Dean Morgan. And yet that's what happens. He needs to move on with his life and she needs to get one. While their chemistry is electric the would be relationship has a definite end date and is predicated in misinformation. Cailey's life centers on her young son Caleb. She can't make commitments until his custody dispute is settled. Dean is being pushed and shoved into getting on with his life by his family and best friend. There may be some meddling involved by those folks. Finding the woman he wants to make that happen with is a surprise but he's ready to go all in. He's goes all out in hot pursuit of a woman unwilling to commit to more than ten days. But, being the man he is that's a challenge he's willing to accept because he intends for it to be so much more. Life, of course, happens when you're making other plans. The truth eventually is revealed and despite trepidations it's not a game changer for either Dean or Cailey. All is forgiven and these two do get their happily ever after.
After a rather slow start, this story took off like a rocket as soon as Dean and Cailey meet in person. I'll admit I had trouble getting into the story at first, when we were only getting each of their current situations explained, which didn't put either one of them in an especially favorable light. However, once they meet the sparks are instantaneous and I was immediately addicted to their insane chemistry. If there's one thing I can say about all four of this author's books that I've read, it's that she really excels at showing the depth and explosiveness of her couples' attraction to each other. This author really knows how to write hot, emotionally charged, possessive smut.
From their heart-stopping first kiss through the hottest set of negotiations I've ever read, the many twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and glued to my ereader. So many delicious layers of mistaken identity! Even halfway through the book, we still weren't even halfway through all the secrets.
Dean is as persistent and dominating as all of the author's other MMCs, and I loved every bit of it. His amazing patience (the porch scene had me swooning!) was the rock on which their love story was built. He manages to balance giving Cailey all the space she needs while never completely letting her go. I adored their HEA and the beautiful way they built their unique family.
I loved meeting all the siblings and can't wait to read their stories. I know Faith is next, and I hope we'll get a lot more in this wonderful series. I highly recommend everything this author writes, and this book is especially tailor-made for anyone who loves contemporary cowboy romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Oh my goodness… this book was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous!
Sweet but spicy, ‘Give In To Me’ takes us on a journey with all sorts of depth, and for a small town country romance, I was pleasantly surprised by all the layers that shaped the story.
Before I go on and share what it’s all about, I’d like to thank BookSirens and Edith Lalonde for the opportunity to read it shortly after its release last month.
This quickly became one of my favourite reads for the year!
Dean Morgan is divorced and dealing with the devastating recent discovery that he is infertile. Although successful in his work and satisfied with many other things in life, he’s a family guy, and the fact that he might never have one of his own, has rocked him to his core.
Cailey Heffner is a single Mum, giving her all to fight her way through a nasty custody battle. Financially, she faces the brink of bankruptcy, so when her twin sister Hailey temporarily needs help with work overseas, she finds herself prepared to do whatever it takes - including pretending to be her, to protect her home and support her son.
On her way out to said job - stressed beyond words at the thought of getting caught by customs, Cailey coincidentally crosses paths with Dean; and as fate would have it, the two are travelling to the same place at the same time, in seats side by side.
I’ll leave the synopsis there so I don’t share any spoilers, but where I stopped marks the start of a seriously heartwarming love story; so if you’re after some feels, I highly recommend giving it a read.
‘Give In To Me’ was everything a romance should be and more, and in two simple words: I adored.
Thank you Edith! I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆'𝒔 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆: Give In To Me is a small-town romance that was a totally enjoyable read for me. The story flowed and was easy to read. Each chapter was written with sass and entertainment, ensuring you keep turning pages to the end. The characters were lovable and pulled me in - Cailley & Hailey were every bit believable and it's nice to see that they had a very loving relationship, supporting each other. Dean was endearing, and though he blew the interview he did have a wonderfully delicious interview that was worth it in the end. The imagery was vivid and I could imagine the scenes playing out. The style the author used fitted well - not too descriptive and the narrative was fun. The story was written from each character's point of view, giving the reader an insight into how each felt and desired. I took my time reading this, and though the time I was supposed to complete surpassed me It was worth it.

This is book one in A Boots and Hearts Novel series and it is Dean and Cailey’s story and what a great start to a new series. When Dean who is a true family man finds out that he can’t have children he is devastated and feels like his whole future that he wanted had been taken away and collapsed around him making him realise that no woman would ever want him if he couldn’t give them a family and he was determined to not put himself through the pain and heartbreak. Cailey is a single mom to her son who is her whole world but now she is going through a bitter custody battle with the man that wanted nothing to do with his son in the past but is now acting like a entitled jerk just because he has money but Cailey is determined to win and keep her son away from the man that didn’t want him. Cailey and her twin sister Hailey decided to do a twin swap because Hailey was sick and needed Cailey to go in her place to write a article for their family travel magazine and that is when she meets Dean and the attraction and chemistry is instant and they spend time together and had a fling not knowing that they will meet again but with Cailey pretending to be her sister things just get even more complicated but what happens when Dean finds out that she lied to him especially as they now have feelings for each other and Cailey needs to go back home to get her son back. I absolutely loved this book because it was a page turner that kept your attention throughout the whole book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I’ve always loved stories about twins trading places, but they usually involve kids and silly pranks. This time, Cailey is not only an adult, but a single mom and she has to take her sister’s place to save their family business. Yet while they’re identical physically, she and Hailey have totally different personalities and Cailey worries she won’t be able to pull this off, not to mention leaving her son Caleb for almost two whole weeks. When she accidentally spills her coffee all over a hunk at the airport, she has no idea that she has just met a man who will play a big part in the rest of her American adventure. Cailey was so much fun; she had a dirty mouth and caring soul - there’s no better combination. Though, not to be outdone, Dean was a man you don’t find every day. Kind and sexy, willing to do anything for his family and ready to make Cailey part of that as soon as she said yes. The whole Morgan family was so welcoming to Cailey, so I could understand her guilt at lying to them about her identity, but ultimately it was Cailey they got to know, just under her sister’s name. With serious topics such loss of family members, infertility, custody disputes and found family, the story was sad and bittersweet at times, but with an overriding sense of comfort and warmth that turned difficult times into joyous moments in the arms of loved ones, both old and new. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A really wonderful, sweet and steamy romance with a slow start By the time Dean Morgan and “Hailey” Heffner bump into each other in the line to get coffee at the airport, this book takes off and never slows down again. So much is happening in this story: a delinquent father wants custody of his son; a twin must double for her sister on an assignment requiring the dreaded flight; dealing with loss; and a sterile man who desperately wants a family. I smiled a lot but cried too, happy and sad tears. Let me tell you, every time Dean called her “Baby” I got chills. So hot. And later when he mimics Caleb and calls her “Maman”…well…so good! The author has hinted at several future entanglements in reading this book. I can see potential stories for an age gap; enemy to lover; best friends to lovers; boss and employee. Is there even the possibility of friends to lovers M/M romance? I can’t wait to see what’s in store in this new series. If you like a great cast of characters with a beautiful plot along with smiles, tears and steam, you will want to read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through BookSirens.
Cailey is a financially struggling Canadian single mother whose playboy baby daddy only wants visitation to appease his mother. Dean is an infertile divorcee and farm equipment mogul in Arizona in partnership with his ex-wife; together they’re trying to expand their reach so Dean is tasked with going to Toronto to assess their options.
Cailey is convinced to pose as her twin sister, who’s a jet-setting influencer. Cailey and Dean connect on an airplane and make an instant lust connection.
Cailey maintains the deception of posing as Hailey, and Dean falls pretty hard for her. Meanwhile he’s keeping secrets from Cailey as well.
There’s a lot going on here, and the first several chapters were a little slow, but things heated up when the MCs collide.
I enjoyed the steam and the fact that the MMC fell first. I had issues with suspension of disbelief in several areas, most notably the fact that Dean didn’t seem at all suspicious that a supposed well-seasoned traveler as Cailey was alleging to be was terrified of flying.
I was furnished an advance reader copy from the author and booksirens and I’m sharing my honest impressions.
Cailey takes her twin sister Hailey’s place on a business trip in order to save their company. While on the way she meets a man and chemistry takes over. She tries to avoid it because she can’t tell him who she really is or that she’s traveled internationally under someone else’s name or about her family and other troubles at home.
It started slow for me and was hard for me to keep track of the who the characters are. That all changed at 20% when Cailey and Dean meet and trust me it’s worth reading through it if it starts slow for you too! Dean may be my favorite character in a long time, love his realism of having trouble moving on after divorce also his dialogue and wittiness is fun.
Favorite part of the book is the whole plane ride to Phoenix and my only dislike is sometimes they speak in French and It doesn’t always tell you what is being said.
Can’t wait for book two!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story was amazing! It took me several tries to finish it only because it was emotional to read what seemed a parallel to parts of my family's past. After finishing it at 3 am I had to wait over 12 hours to gather my wits about me to write this review. Not only were names and life situations the same or similar, but the author has the Morgan Clan tailored to a T! Even some of the sayings that Cailey says are spot on for here in Carolina. She was a character I could definitely relate to.
The characters were well-fleshed out and enchanting. The drama and romance were brilliant, and the playfulness between the characters was outstanding! I read hundreds of books in a year and I have to say "Give In To Me" is amongst my top 3 favorites for 2023. If you like close-knit family stories, with believable drama and heart-pounding romance, then you need to give this book a read. You won't regret it!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh wow did this story sink it's claws into me, I fell in love with the characters and my goodness did Cailey and Dean have chemistry! My heart broke for them and rejoiced for them too, I thought their story was written well and had a nice balance to it too. There were a few aspects of the story that resonated with me personally so I felt extra connected to certain characters and what they had been through or were going through.
Cailey was such an amazing character, I loved her and I know I would be friends with her if she was real. Dean, oh my, Dean, well he was just everything and more, he slayed me at times, he stole my heart with his words and his actions.
This is a new author for me and one who I will happily read again, I am so going to read the whole of this series, I need more of this extended family in my life. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.
I don't think I will easily forgive myself for getting my review date wrong. I have been sitting on this gem for four weeks, but when I started, I couldn't stop. A formed family by choice and circumstances. Cailey was supported by Dean from the moment they crossed paths, and like me, they kept on putting things off until later. Secrets and explanations needed, but decisions were put on hold because of legalities. The Morgan family is a true miracle of what we should all strive for and Edith Lalonde shared this feeling of joy, happiness and love through the telling of this story. Sometimes we just can't wait to get to the end of the book, but this time I actually wanted it to continue. I hope to be fortunate to read the remainder in this series. Unfortunately there has to be a "however warning". There is a lot of blasphemy. I received a copy from BookSirens and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This book is all about family and whatever that might mean for people, including chosen or made families. The book was very emotional for me for several reasons: (1) I’ve dealt with my own issues of infertility that I still grieve for off and on. (2) At this stage in my life, I’m dealing with elderly parents, their health issues, and the possibilities of death at any point. (3) Even though I didn’t personally experience it, the main child was a preemie, so that might be an emotional topic for some readers. And (4), the topic of the biological dad using the courts to try to get access to the kid he doesn’t even care about.
Edith Lalonde does an excellent job of writing a complex story that weaves a ton of different emotions into the mix. In the end, this book gave a nice reminder that not only do we have family by blood, we create family by the choices we make in our lives.
I was introduced to this author by Hidden Gems ARC program and I was anxious to read this ARC when it was offered. Dean Morgan is the head of his family business on their Arizona ranch and meets Cailey a single mom from Canada, who has been sent to the ranch and is masquerading as her twin sister. Although they are magnetic together, Cailey insists that their relationship must end when she goes back to Canada because she is in a custody dispute and he thinks she is her sister Hailey. The relationship between the two of them is hot from the start but their secrets could be a little annoying. Both Dean and Cailey have strong family ties and even with the hurdles, you could see them building a future. Overall, a good story and fun characters that will be a good starting point for the new series. One note, liked how Cailey was teaching her son to be bilingual but at times the French was challenging.
Steamy, start of a new series. I am addicted to the JTT series. This is a different genre, single mom, small town. Cailey is a mix of strength and vulnerability. Dean has his own vulnerabilities and the author shows how we are our own worse enemies. Once Cailey is tasked with the trip it pulled me from my enjoyment. I get mystery, angst etc and I understand this is fiction, but it made me question doing business with someone that try's to pull this off. I am doing my darndest not to do spoilers as I am sure this will be a rip roaring read for many. Besides steam Edith delivers family, emotions and humor which is a win. I just couldn't get past the trip. Maybe I was in the wrong frame of mind to read this one at this time. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #GiveInToMe #ABootsandHeartsNovel #EdithLaLonde #Booksirens
Outstanding: This was an amazing book and I loved every single moment of it. It was well rounded with a mix of humour, romance, emotion and drama. I liked that the story didn't feel contrived and whilst there was certainly tension, secrets and misunderstandings; there wasn't any unnecessary angst. My poor heart got a workout with this one! Cailey and Dean made an awesome couple and despite their obstacles, they just couldn't deny the intense connection and chemistry between them. It was wonderful seeing love, sacrifice and strong family bonds being featured so prominently. The supporting characters were great too and I am really looking forward to the rest of this series. 'Give in to Me' is a wonderful story about Grant, a kind, romantic rancher who can’t have children and Cailey, a single mother embroiled in a custody battle with her son's father. Cailey needs to cover for her identical twin sister, Hailey who is a social media influencer and part of the family's business. She is unable to attend a major event. During Cailey's flight to Montana, she meets Grant, and the steam begins to roll.
There are so many fascinating characters in the story, including both of their families. So much happens in their lives and, after some struggles, Grant and Cailey find their happily ever after. Edith Lalonde really knows how to weave a captivating story and I can see several opportunities for future stories in the Boots and Hearts series.

Cailey is already stressed out dealing with her ex who didn’t want their son and now suddenly wants to take him away from her when her influencer twin sister is sick and asks her to switch places. I would have been worried too about what would happen with Caleb if anyone found out. She ends up sitting on the plane next to Dean where they kiss a lot and eventually other things and answer questions about each other without revealing who they are. I was surprised they would accept that she flew everywhere for her job when she is afraid of flying. She and Dean spend a lot of time swearing and sleeping together and he wants forever but she needs to make sure she doesn’t lose her son first without telling him that. I felt for young Cash with only his dying grandmother hoping that he can join their family and Dean who wanted kids but was unable to have them.
Give In To Me is the 1st book in the Boots and Hearts series. A fantastic, stand-alone romance that had me laugh out loud one moment and close to tears the next. There's heartache and the pain of losing loved ones, there are fights for what you believe in and what's right, there are hot and steamy sexy times and a wonderfully bittersweet HEA. There is also the powerful strength and support of family and friends - wonderful side characters all, who will hopefully get their own HEAs one by one. I've greatly enjoyed this author's romantic suspense series, but Give In To Me is my personal favorite of her books so far and a definite addition to my keeper shelf.

Dean and Cailey's story kicks off the Boots and Hearts series. Man their story gets you right in the feels. Crying? I'm not crying its just allergies. Cailey and Dean meet in an airport, then again on a plane. They don't exchange names and before he knows it she's booked it off the plane never to be seen again but a little fate comes into play. Unfortunately Cailey is filling in for her twin sister Hailey and is lying to the Dean and his family. Dean is convinced "Hailey" is the one but they both have insecurities and secrets they're keeping from each other. Lots of heat, love, and family, I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
