Poorly written teen paranormal
It’s not that there are no high points— the family’s abilities are interesting. However, Kiara Rhett novel about high schoolers is written as though she had trouble with ninth grade English.
Grammatical errors abound— sentences lacking necessary commas, sentence fragments, run on sentences, etc. She repeatedly writes reign when she means rein, sparing for sparring, waring for warring, and multiple other such errors.
Particularly egregious is her use of the word “rabid”, which at first leaves the obvious impression that a young wolf shifter has contracted rabies. This is one of the major themes in the book, so it’s important that rabies appears to be an issue for the shifters.
It’s not. Rather, she describes the cub as rabid (repeatedly, and in a chapter heading) when she actually means is feral— there’s no disease involved. He became feral and unable to return to human form following a traumatic experience, and no disease was involved.
This is a book in dire need of an editor.
