Excellent

I really love Harley Tate's books and Aftermath was even better than usual. It made me cringe at how people were treated when all they have done is be unlucky to be in a place where a disaster hits. It's a fast-paced book that's very easy to read. The main characters were strong-willed and knew what they wanted to do to reunite their family. A great read.

Such An Awesome Survival Story!!

Although this final book was intense and had some heart stopping moments, it ended up wrapping up the series beautifully!!

This was more of a disaster/survival story more than Apocalyptic, because it didn’t affect the whole world, or even the whole country the way Apocalyptic does. But it affects the coastal cities and towns of Oregon and Washington. First the mega quake and then the tsunami and rock slides, so many died and it will take a long time to rebuild. The survivors had to fight for their lives, even within the FEMA tents and transportation where they thought they were safe. It truly was a hard to put down series!! This last book was my favorite of all three. And I loved how it focused on this family and trying to find each other. They were all extremely engaging characters.

Highly recommend this to all who enjoy Disaster Thrillers!

Final book in trilogy

I guess the story arc in this trilogy came to a satisfying ending. This disaster thriller was about an epic magnitude earthquake, and the resulting tsunami that decimated the northern west coast.
The story Arc follows Clint, Daphne and Mika from the beginning of the disaster through their struggles to find their way to each other and survive .
I found the behavior of human beings and the despicable downfall of human kindness to be unfortunately all too real unbelievable.
I could all too easily see the aftermath scenarios of human brutality coming true if disaster strikes.
Enjoyable series of books, nothing epic or prize-winning, but definitely a very enjoyable series.

Reads like a movie

I live on Washington Olympic Peninsula so seeing a book about a big quake and tsunami was a must read. This story was fast paced, and well written by a person with little knowledge of the area or of the forest. The characters and story interesting, though somewhat shallow and predictable. If you're looking for a fast paced, happy read, with a different subject matter, this will do.

Ok, this has spoilers! I've given it 4 stars because I enjoyed reading the whole series. I liked the fact that it was quite ordinary. The main character Clint didn't happen to be an ex special forces guy trained to survive extreme circumstances, his wife Daphne wasn't previously a para medic and their daughter Miki wasn't a martial arts champion, these were ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances and they reacted and dealt with them in ways most of us would find realistic. The characters they came across seemed realistic and the situations that arose didn't seem far fetched. I liked that, it was a breath of fresh air. So, I have to say I did roll my eyes when in this installment, whilst walking in the woods, Daphne happens upon an abandoned airfield and plane which not only is totally undamaged by the earthquake but despite standing idle for an unnamed number of months/years is airworthy and - wait for it - it turns out Daphne happens to have had flying lessons! What a lucky break!!! However, aside from that it was an enjoyable read.

I wanted to take a second to review this awesome series! I loved that the "post-apocalyptic" portion had to do with an act of God (earthquake and tsunami) because I'm a weather nerd, so that was a lot of fun. I'd say the first and third books were my favorites. Non-stop action with characters you truly grow to care about. Mika was definitely my favorite, so how the author wrapped up the 3rd book made me cry and smile at the same time. Tate has a gift for making me SEE exactly what she's writing, and her writing style had me feeling like I was there in the Pac NW, experiencing these things right alongside Clint, Mika, and the rest. None of it seemed too unbelievable; at no time was I pulled out of the story thinking, "That would never happen," which is rare for this genre. All in all, I loved this series, and I would read it again, which is the highest compliment I can offer. Thanks to Tate for writing a wholly enjoyable series and keeping me endlessly entertained!

It could happen to anyone.

A terrible earthquake strikes the Pacific Northwest and Mika, a high schooler on a Girl Scout trip in the mountains gets caught up in it. Everyone in the large van is killed due to the land slide except Mika. Even her best friend is killed, and Mika must bury her. At the same time her father is looking for her and also for her mother. Terrible things happen, but this story shows how struggle and perseverance can have wonderful life changing results. Please read this book.

Sad but true...

It's amazing how long it takes for emergency personnel to act. Katrina is a prime example, and this story actually puts things in perspective. In this instance, you can actually feel the intensity and stress shared by the people..not only those displaced but those trying to help. We have helicopters, military, red cross, fema, and many other services. It's sad to think (maybe not this scenario), but something similar could happen again. It was a good series.

Heartwarming and Tragic

Last book in the series this one tells the story of Mika and Clint trying to reach her Mum Daphne. Likewise Daphne goes through her own ordeals trying to find her family. Just as things are on a downward turn again both parties discover that the other is still alive. Now all they have to do is find each other, both groups head towards a distant town that has a FEMA camp. Surely everything will be organised there?

The worst part about this story is that in many places it’s frighteningly realistic.

great ending

Full of action, edge of your seat drama! Fighting to protect your family and self. Really loved this last book, causes emotions of smiles, tension and tears from readers. She really got the human actions in crisis correct, people change when they are put in zones outside of their comfort zones, aggressive in dire situations
.. great books

Brighter days ahead.

It looks like someone has hit the nail on the head. The only problem is that there will be more violence than you have written about. Most people will not understand that they are in for a wild ride. People will go nuts, bad people will come out of the cracks and take your stuff and your life, if you let them. GET READY NOW!

A great series

Harley Tate can deliver on exciting story line. At times one character or another seemed to face impossible situations. I often wondered if our country could survive a disaster like this. Unfortunately, Harley describes human nature in its most ugly form. I suggest that you read all three books. Great writing.

A Post Apocalyptic Disaster Thriller

Aftermath the 3rd book in the series is even more exciting than book 1. A Mega Earth Quake followed by a Tsunami has destroyed much of Washington and Oregon coast. People are injured, hungry, and tired, but they are the few that survived. Great Characters and story.
I think i found a new favorite author,
Thank You Harley Tate.

EOTWAWKI. Borrowed this eBook with Kindle Unlimited on March 26, 2024, West coast gets hit by 9+ earthquake. Read Kindle book using Alexa audio asset. Family of three tries to reunite and survive. It is harsh but l am glad to live away from quakes and ocean floods in Minnesota, although tornados/storms/cold can be minor problems. Last in series, good finish to the series.

Aftermath by Harley Tate is an absolute masterpiece! Every chapter had me on edge, feeling every heartbeat, every fear, and every flicker of hope alongside the Redshaw family. The tension, the emotional depth, and the sheer chaos of the post-apocalyptic world are gripping. This finale delivers everything and more! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!

Very believable

Throughout Aftermath, the balance of good and evil, death and survival, hopeless and hope kept this book believable. With stand-up characters and the love of family and the best darn ending, the entire series is truly epic!

Our strength.

The family was very determined to find each other. They knew that they would have strength to keep going. Clint worried that everything Mika had been through was going to make her emotional unstable, but she was stronger.

The end

I liked this whole series, and the conclusion was a good one. A few things were unrealistic to me, and some were too real!
I enjoyed the writing and will look for more by this author.

Rich in the possibilities that can happen during an awful event. We humans are very resilient. Yet, we are capable of love.

This ended a decent series, but was rather “as expected” at the finish. There was a lot of somewhat ineffectual trying to find each other actions, with some more realistic issues that might be faced by these disaster refugees. The final scene with the FEMA team seemed quite bland.

Couldn’t Book the Book Down

A story that scares me to think something like this will happen, maybe not my lifetime, but inevitably will. An excellent, easy read, that inspires so many emotions as a reader.

Family

The series shows that under dire circumstances making the right decisions and listening to your guts can make a difference between life and death. Also, the value of family and friendship grows and both become survival factors.

Yawn fest

Really disappointed in the last two books, I had to skip lots of pages, really over sentimental clap trap, totally over the top. With the constant missing each other in feelings as well as in the journey ,I was desperate for the book to end.
