Meet Destiny Adler, a general's daughter, an accomplished artist, and a devoted lover of ice cream.
In her college days, Destiny nurtured an intense crush on her bodyguard. Their brief connection, if it could even be called that, spanned just two weeks.
Fast forward a decade, and Destiny is thriving in the vibrant heart of New York City, where her artistic talents bloom. But her life takes a chilling turn when an online predator threatens her safety.
Enter Max Decker, former Marine and current NIGHTWIND operative. His tranquil existence is abruptly rattled by an urgent message bearing the enigmatic "Regarding Destiny."
The spirited college girl he once safeguarded now requires his immediate protection. Despite having hung up his fieldwork hat, Max embraces the mission without hesitation. Safeguarding Destiny remains a calling only he can answer.
Protecting Destiny becomes so much more than a job when real feelings develop.
And when she’s kidnapped, Max stops at nothing to protect the woman he loves.
All of the books in the Nightwind series feature different couples and can be read as standalones. Regarding Destiny is a full-length romance with a happily ever after.

This was a monster of a book with a lot going on, yet at times it didn't seem like much was going on. The history between Max and Destiny was interesting, especially the way that each of them kept saying they slept together 10 years ago. I think that Max did the right thing to walk away at that time in their lives, Destiny was young and needed to live more. It was great that fate brought them back together, but not the reason why.
I thought Destiny did a great job of pretty much rolling with the punches as it seems like her life was taken over by Max and Nightwind with little to no explanation. I liked that she made Max tell her what was going on and the next steps all the time. It seemed to help settle her in a crazy situation. Through all of this, they spent a great deal of time together, which rekindled the attraction from a decade ago. I liked that both acknowledged that and how they said they would talk about it "after."
Trying to stay ahead of the bad guys got interesting as they went to Philly, a place where they met all those years ago and where Max's parents lived. It gave them a nice landing spot that no one would think of, let Destiny see a different side of Max and made things no so fraught. The Halloween party sounded great and it was nice that Max was given the night off, although both he and Destiny paid for it the next day with hangovers.
As things moved back to NYC, things got more dangerous and stupid moves were made. Sadly Destiny had to use training she had gotten years before and seemed surprised by how well it came back to her and how well it worked, leading her back to safety.
At this point you would think it was all good, HEA's all around, but a call from someone important asking a question that Max really couldn't say no to put things on pause for the couple. Max made up for it with the nice dinner out and entertainment, a great start to their new life!
What an amazing book! The Nightwind crew at it again and bringing home the win. I absolutely loved Max and Destiny. They are just so perfect together! Sure, at first glance, Destiny's free-spirit artist vibe seems to clash with Max's spit and polish Marine posture, but when they hit the burbs, Max's true self comes out and WOOH! The sparks start flying! Full of twists and turns and intrigue with a full course of HEA and some jaw-dropping ending twists, Regarding Destiny's has everything and then some!
I was extremely happy to see that there was a new book in the 'Nightwind' series... really happy.
Now... I am in a quandary. There were elements that I liked. The familiarity of that world... some basic drop-ins from known characters...
But... there were many more elements that just sort of jarred for me. Below are some of them.
Breakfast for 6 ( or possibly more? ) costing less than $100 in NYC? Not with what they ordered...
Don't like the reinforcement of men v women's roles. Each to their own... but...
Cultural references seemed to be out of kilter with the age groups.
Would a nearly 40 year old ex-military man who works in security really use the abbreviation BFF?
How many times was it necessary to throw in 'bougie'? Too many is my response.
The whole whiskey and cigar thing... propagating something that really shouldn't be promoted once more...
Um... um... this paragraph taken from the book➡➡➡➡'Universal truth—chicks loved renovation and design. He didn’t care who she was, what station in life, or where she called home, there wasn’t a female alive who didn’t have plans for the bathroom and kitchen of her dreams. Oh, and closets. The 21st-century fascination with closets would need entire chapters in future history books.'... I just am not even sure what to say about this.
I just didn't find the characters believable as a 29 year old and a 39 year old man. They both came across as much younger in their personalities... and that isn't a compliment.
The action was too long in coming and too quick in being over. Too many situations not resolved for me. The only real positive for me was Destiny using her skills when they were needed.
And, for me, it was just too long. There was so much that I skim read and it made no difference to the story being told for me. I will hold out hope for the next one.
I have absolutely loved every single book by this author, and this one was certainly no exception. I love the Nightwind crew, and each new addition to this awesome group makes it that much more special. I want to be Dottie Quick when I grow up! This story was full of intense drama, hilarious banter, crazy antics, suspense, and so much more. It's definitely not a story or series that you'll want to miss. The only issue I have is having to wait for the next release! Yeah, I'm impatient like that. Lol! However, every single book has been completely worth the wait. If you haven't already, I would highly suggest reading all of this author's work, beginning with the Justice Brothers. You definitely won't be disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Another great read. Could not put it down. Love this Nightwind crew. Another small but powerful lady takes another alpha down. A bunch of badasses that have become family. Max and Destiny are so "cute" together. Destiny sure knows how to work up Agent Decker. Max is extremely supportive of Destiny. Lots of laughter, a little bit of intrigue, lots of hotness, and lots of sizzle. Such an amazing storyline. Love the Justice and Bendover mentions. Can't wait to see more of that develop. Destiny will sure fit in with the Justice Ladies. Can't wait for the next installment of Nightwind.
Just when I think Suzanne's writing can't possibly get any better she goes and releases something that knocks my socks off yet again! Regarding Destiny has everything I love in a series installment - past crush, suspense, action, slowish build, healthy relationship examples. The last 1/3 of this book is quite possibly the best writing I've seen from Suzanne and that's saying A LOT because I love her books! The way she intertwined Justice connections through some key cameos and mentions was superb & spoke to this series lover's heart! Regarding Destiny is absolutely a book you need to read!
I have always enjoyed this author because she sets a story up with great detail to include her characters. This latest release of Max and Destiny from the Nightwind series gave me a serious case of the chuckles. The entire reason how and why they met was possibly written in the stars. With all they overcome through very dramatic moments in the story this author was able to weave her web of sexy scenes that burn up the pages. My favorite characters are the parentals! They are a hoot!!! Great job Suzanne 😉
Max and Destiny are a delightful couple. They are strong individually and together. I really like how Destiny isn’t weak and helpless. All the supporting characters are a hoot.
As with all of her books, Ms Halliday paints vivid images with words, creating an immersive reading experience that makes you feel like you know the characters. I’m so glad I set aside time to be able to focus on reading this book with minimal interruptions. It would have been really hard to set it down part way through to return to the real world.
It was a fun and interesting story. Max learning that sometimes destiny knows when to make appearance in your life. Destiny learning that sometimes destiny can give you a second chance with your soulmate. Both Learning to love each other for who they are and the jobs they are doing. Characters all were fun and good.
Absolutely LOVED it!!! Once again I was sucked in from the start & didn't want to put it down. Loved seeing the Nightwind group again. Loved Max & Destiny as well as all the characters. This story is so great, I am always at a loss for words at how amazing your stories are. A definite home run again Suzanne, looking forward to the next Justice, Nightwind or whoever story you have coming next.
Loved, loved this book! The electricity in the room when these two are together. ⚡️But, there's a situation, so they are thrown together again as protector & protected. She is more than a job. She is fiercely independent. Sparks will fly! It has all the feels. I'm eagerly waiting for the next book in this series. Enjoy! 📚🎉🌻❤️
Couldn’t put this book down. Max is the kind of man any family would want for a daughter. The love that is palpable through the characters is something we all wish and hope for. Another great book that keeps you up late at night reading. Loved it!!!
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end the story line was brilliant think every emotion possible is in there somewhere as always so well written. The ending leading to one of my favourite place with the people we know. Cannot wait for the next book.
These Nightwind guys get more awesome (hot) the more I read their stories. The Nightwind ladies hold their own and will not be outshined. Your guts (and heart) will be twisted back and forth, but you'll be laughing and smiling at the end. Enjoy!
