Candle Making Business is a how-to guide to making candles and potentially building up to launching your own candle making business. This book has a wealth of information, tips, and ideas and is a great guide to get you started. I want to get a physical copy of this book to go back to as I'd love to give many of the ideas for making candles in this book a go. I've not made candles in about ten years, maybe a little longer, and the recipes in this book sound fab and easy to do, too. The only downfall for me is that it's not in metric units that I'd have preferred or had an easy conversion chart to access in the book.

I like books that teach you something and are not just filled with useless fluff. Candle Making Business by Alyssa Garner is one of those books. She thought of everything too, from making your first candle to how to run the business of selling them. I liked the way the author started out with a basic candle, then moved onto more advanced ways to make them. The business part of the book was wonderful, because she taught you step by step how to make the business legal and how to market it. Not only did she tell you all this, but she included links to places online where you can purchase your materials needed, There are many places to sell your items, and the author offers her opinions on the best places to get started. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crafting and wants to learn something new, or anyone who would like to start their own business with candles. “Candle Making Business: How to Launch a Thriving Six-Figure Candle Business from Home,” by Alyssa Garner, is a comprehensive guide for hopeful candle makers. Garner makes big claims. She states that candle making is one of the easiest and most profitable businesses as the materials needed are cheap. With the guidance of her book, she says you can get started in 30 days. I cannot take such claims seriously, but I will say there is a lot of information provided and it would seem to cover all the aspects of the venture.
Some of the included information:
How to make candles, with troubleshooting advice; what supplies you will need to make candles (aside from general kitchen equipment, you will need paraffin wax, pre-tabbed and pre-waxed wicks, fragrance oil, wick stickers, labels, wick holders and a wick trimmer); how to package and price your product; where to sell your candle: Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, a business website, or farmer’s markets and fairs; how to make eco-friendly candles; how to customize your candles; how to develop your brand; ways to package and ship your product; how to organize the launch of your business; the importance of social media and benefit of newsletters; how to expand your business and how to form an LLC; and finally, how to choose an insurance provider and tips for filing your taxes.
So, there is a ton of helpful information here that ought to serve as a useful guide for starting your own candle-making business.

It seems everywhere you go these days you’ll find candles for sale. In shops, at craft fairs and even at markets, there are candles of every shape and colour and scent. It certainly seems to be a thriving business and they’re not used to light a home any more – except maybe during a rare electricity failure.
Today they are used for ambience and maybe to hide pet odours, and you can’t deny a scented candle burning on a windowsill on a dark, dreary day doesn’t cheer you up a little.
This book dips into the process of candle-making. The types of wax, and how to make those gorgeous scents. It explains what you need, the places you go to for your materials and how to market them as a small business. It explains marketing and promotion in depth, from finding your customer base, making your brand and the rules and regulations that go hand in hand with starting up a SME.

This is a book that has got me making A LOT of candles!! I had no idea how easy it could be to make candles...and make money from them. This book is the ultimate handhold to guide us through the process - from making that all important first candle to the steps and invaluable guidance involved in turning this into a profitable business. Being a Brit I would have quite liked the 'recipes' to have been in metric units to ease accessibility, but this isn't essential and easily worked around. I loved the business side of this book also, and find myself very motivated to source the 'Etsy' selling book that this author has also written! I think this book is great for giving you ideas on how to start your own business. In Chapter 1, the author gives you a list of all the ingredients you will need and where to get them. The author also gives good information on how to customize the candles and make them your own, the different types of waxes available, good marketing techniques, and how to-s for pricing, I found that this book had a lot of really great information and I recommend it for anyone that is looking to start their own business for primary or secondary income.

I have been looking for a side business and when I saw this book, I thought this might be a great and fun idea. The book laid out everything from how to make the candle in the first place through selling, branding and pricing. Literally everything I needed to know about this business was in this book, everything. Amazing. I guess I need to get making some candles and see what I can do with them. Really helpful book.

This is a really good book if you are interested in a) making candles and b) want to make a business out of it.

Whilst it's geared to american audiences (in terms of resources and measurements) it contains a lot of great information for a basics type book.

Love these business from home idea books and this one is great!

As the title says this kind of book is exactly what I love, learning how to make money from a at home business, or at least start at home business. It is not over bloated, it is short and concise which is fantastic. It includes how to make your first candle, sadly the measurements are in USA standards, which isn’t too much of an issue as you can just use google to convert.
This book has inspired me to give it a shot and also to look at the authors other books. It has awesome business side advice on what to do and how to start selling.
If you find yourself saying. “I’d love to do so and so but I do not know where to start.” This is the kind of book you need. Candles are also a really popular item, especially for us ladies.
All in all I would recommend, well worth the time.
