MY GOD. This was so incredibly frustrating.
There's a difference between being a teller and a shower. And this book was a teller. It underestimated my intelligence every time some big plot point happened. The amount of expositive dialogue it had pissed me off to the point I skipped most of it. The first 2 books had enough potential that i could overlook all the weak spots (i.e the dialogues and the oh my god he killed my parents to oh my he's the love of my life pipeline) but this one just did it for me. Not returning for the fourth. Sorry.

What just happened……I feel like I just read a book by a completely different author???? Even the writing was so different.

???? What???? I’m so disappointed. Ugh. Honestly, nothing happened really in this book. It almost felt like a bridging novel. Maybe all the action will be in the last book? This book was cute and anytime they ever ran into any trouble they immediately won in like a minute. The spice scenes were extremely short….like I’m talking “he puts it in and she screams” the end. 😂😂😂
I’m just blown away. The first two books were so freaking good! I couldn’t put them down and this one was so hard to even finish. I truly felt like it was a completely different person writing it. So strange. I’m so bummed. At least it was short.

It hurts me to give this one only three stars but I was disappointed! I absolutely devoured the first two books but this one just didn’t meet the mark.
The possessiveness of the Prince got to the point of cringey and unnecessary. Some of the spicy scenes gave me the ick and I ended up skimming through them.
I really hope the next book captures whatever it was that the first two had!

DNF. Wish they stayed apart because what kind of unholy bed room talk was that? Finger her wings? I had to address the invisible audience I was BAFFLED by it. Was rooting for this book and it’s good, but I can’t get past the sex scene.

”Drachu had always looked at me as if I was something more”. You met once. For like 15 minutes.
This type of writing had me worried I was going to be as tired and fed up with this one as with the previous one. And I didn’t like the very beginning of the book. It was a lot of exposition and basically a recap of the previous one. But it got better.
There’s a lot (man I mean a lot) going on here. It all becomes a jumble and I found it hard to focus and develop an actual interest in what was going on. There’s new affinities, other realms, plotting and scheming, mate bonds and the world and his wife. I mean even vampires and werewolves make an appearance. It made me feel as if everything that ever occurred in Supernatural was all of a sudden thrown into this story. (Side note: Why is Lucifer a thing in this world, but they flip each other off with the pinky?)
But despite it being crammed with all types of things I like it better than the second one. At least there’s a lot happening, it’s no filler book and we keep on moving forward.
Ilara continues to be quite frustrating. She spares no thoughts of her family. I mean, even though they’re safe now I would guess she would think of them sometimes. But nope. And as soon as her sister is dropped off she completely disappears from the story as well. She just seems like she constantly suffers from short term amnesia. She’s lived her whole life without magic, but has no wit and survival skills when she loses it. I wish she was more cunning or driven. But she’s just there mostly.
And if I took a shot every time Nori growled as soon as another man went near Ilara I would be plastered. It continues to be one of the most frustrating, and honestly boring, traits that men are given. A possessive man is not sexy. At all. And neither is the spice in this one. It happened but I felt indifferent. And please do not ever mention fingering wings again.
The funniest thing in the book (which I don’t think was supposed to be funny) was when Drachu said “I know many things” and the sister says it is a truth. Well duh.

It's with a heavy heart that I say this but this book was lowkey boring. All the entregue from book #1? Gone. All the problems that come up? All but one solved in 15 minutes or less with no true consequences to the main characters. It truly felt like there were no stakes. I read romance because I like to be guaranteed a happily ever after but make me second guess myself on it at least once please.
The MMC was dreamier when he wasn't with the FMC. After they got together all the banter and sass kinda lost its spark. Also she was "ready" for him in 1 second after 1 look and he was in her the next. It was that multiplied by however many times they slept together. It became off putting very early on.
I dislike it when the author makes the most powerful character (the FMC) powerless for the sake of an extra plotline/book very annoying. I also disliked how the author went about fixing said story line.
Overall, this series had a fantastic start but slowly devolved into something I no longer want to read. It's unfortunate but it happens. I know the author is planning on rapid releasing a new series in the near future in this same universe she created so I'll be on the look out for that one. Hopefully I'll like it better than this one ♡
P.S. The cameo of a character from a past series in this one was awesome!

Found myself skimming to get through all the weeds of pointless subplots, repetition and filler to get to the plot itself. Lara hasn’t gown savvier at all since book one and I found myself quite bored by her. Most of the other characters felt generic too. The introduction of the other realm “earth,” “humans,” etc. felt like braking the fourth wall - it completely took me out of it while we had to go through a whole new list of rules for magic and world building. My biggest complaint is the entire book felt over written. Once again it’s a shame as it really did have potential.

This is the book that starts to answer the questions you've had throughout the first two books.
Threads are starting to unravel, suspicions are confirmed or debunked, and things start making more sense. Which, I think, sets the stage nicely for book four since I think we now have a lot of the information we need as we start travelling to the conclusion of the series.
Is it a little bit cheesy? Unarguably, yes.
Is it still enjoyable? Absolutely, or I wouldn't still be in this world.
I'm looking forward to seeing how things will play out in book four.

⇢ I enjoyed this book but did have some problems with it. I miss the banter and tension between Ilara and Norivun from the first two books. I loveeeee them together though. I hated all the “my mate” stuff but that’s just me. The sex scenes I kinda just don’t care about anymore. 🤣 I LOVE the found family. The underwater fight with Drachu was intense and I liked it. I enjoyed the characters uncovering the mystery about the missing servants and the dead fields. I think the magic in this series is really awesome. Fire Wolf was cool and I’m interested in reading his book. Overall, I did like it but it was slower and filler to build up for the final book which I’m super excited for. I can’t wait to see where things go. I can’t believe this series is almost over! It’s been so fun reading it with my bestie Jess!! ♡

I enjoyed the first book, 2nd book was tolerable, but the 3rd one just made my eye roll at every chapter. Some strange word choices just irked me (🐱,☝🏻ing) and I’m so done with reading the word “Growl” at every page. Enough.

I really enjoyed Novis POV but this one didn't catch my attention the way the first two did.

The whole thing with the Fire Wolf ruined the immersion for me. This feels like when a TV show forces a crossover with another show solely to appease the fans and nothing more.
The writing in this book also seemed a little off? I skimmed through all the spice because it got too cringey.. fingering her wings?!?!? HELLO?
The dual POV did nothing for me; I constantly had to check whose POV I was reading because Ilara and Norivun have similar inner monologues. They are both equally bland, and I'm not at all intrigued by either of their characters.
However, seeing as I am this deep into the series, I will read the final book (but if Norivun growls once more, I will lose my sanity).

Krista Street never fails to impress!!

This is the third book in the Fae of Snow & Ice series… and honestly this might just be my favorite one yet!! It had all the drama, all the action, and all the romance we’ve all been looking forward to!! And I loved every second of it, especially the cameo of a character from another series! So if you’re looking for a book that has the best fated mates enemies to lovers romance, filled with magic, a found family, outrageous battles, betrayal, and all the winged males you could ever want. Then this book is definitely for you and you should add it to your TBR immediately! I will also say that this is NOT a standalone so if you’ve found yourself reading this and now the book is calling your name, make sure you’ve grabbed books one and two first!
SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T READ BOOKS 1 & 2!
We start off immediately where book 2 ended, and praise be that we did… because honestly I was hanging right off a cliff at the end of that book. Ilara, forced to make a tough decision ends up in the hands of a different race of fae and while they’ve stated they’ll treat her like a queen… let’s just say if what they do is their version of the royal treatment some work needs to be done. And boy oh boy do things kick off from there! I won’t go into great detail about the plot though as I don’t want to spoil anything from book 3! I will say that I absolutely adored everything about this plot and all the new drama and angst introduced but I would be remised if I didn’t say that my favorite part of this book was the characters and their growth!!
As always I just loved Ilara, she’s a force to be reckoned with and I think in this book we finally see her not just come in to her own but starting to feel comfortable as something more powerful than she ever imagined! And while I love that growth for her especially her new feature (iykyk), I loved that she was still able to keep her caring heart, her love for family those blood and found, her fierce loyalty all while growing into her new self!! And I honestly don’t think I could’ve loved Nori more than I did in this book (obviously Street will top it in book 4)! He’s still the same alphahole we met in book one but he’s finally learning that it just might be okay to lean on those around him, and that while he’s use to getting what he wants when he wants he may just have met his match, and watching him maybe not surrendering to that but learning to compromise with it was amazing, and made me love him so much more than I already did! And Nori and Ilara together?? Man that’s just chemistry leaping right off the page! I love their love story, I love how fiercely loyal they are to each other as well as how fiercely determined they are to protect and cherish one another!! Honestly I just love them!
So if you’re looking for a romantasy to warm your kindle or pages this season! Don’t miss out on Krista Streets Fae of Ice and Snow series because it has everything you want from a slow-burn but high chemistry enemies to lovers romance, a plot that will keep you guessing till the end, amazing blood and found families, characters you’ll love and who will keep you laughing (the banter is perfect), and just the right amount of spice to leave you swooning! Irgendwie war das ganze nicht so meins. Vor allem mit den anderen Universen. Ich wollte eine Highfantasy Reihe lesen und plötzlich spazieren die durch Norwegen????🫠
Naja vielleicht wird der 4 Band wieder besser.
Der Verlag hat hier aber eine tolle Chance verpasst. Im Feber erscheint eine Übersetzung einer weiteren Fantasy Reihe der Autorin, die auch in diesen Universen spielt. Nur leider ist es nicht die Reihe mit dem Feuerwolf den wir hier schon kennengelernt haben. Die Reihe hätte mich auf jeden Fall mehr gelockt noch mehr in diese Fantasywelt einzutauchen.
So muss ich aber sagen, weiß ich gar nicht ob ich die neue Reihe überhaupt starten möchte.

In an age where trilogies and extended series dominate the fantasy genre, there comes a point where less is indeed more. This sentiment couldn't be more fitting for the Fae of Snow & Ice book series. This book stretched on way to long, and it feels like the author is just adding characters like the Firewolf and the gods to make it longer. But frankly I’m over it, also the spice between Lara and Nori was hot last 2 books but here it fell flat. It was like all the bases are loaded and then what should be a win gets all the players out. I just couldn’t pay attention and I have no interest in finishing this story with the next book. I really wish Drachu’s role wasn’t a creepy and all that happened with him and I wish we ended the series with book 3.

I really enjoyed the first two books but this one missed the mark. There wasn’t much character development. In fact I would say the FMC took two steps back. There was new characters introduced and they added nothing to the story except extra chapters. I would have probably finished the series if the next book was available but since it’s not I’ll probably forget about it after how this book was written.

The Fae of Snow & Ice Series is our first Fantasy Romance by Krista Street, and we’ll now be adding to her to our list of ‘want to read’ authors.
We enjoyed this enemies to lovers, slow burn romantic fantasy. It had it all. Wonderful world building, Gods, Kings, Faeries, Angels, Warlords galore! Not to mention the spice, the chemistry together, a morally grey commanding Fae Prince who’d lay down his life for the woman who had his heart. Yep, it was all going on in this series!

The first two books, Court of Winter and Thorns of Frost are both single POV from Ilara, whilst Wings of Snow and Crowns of Ice (Books 3 & 4) is a dual POV from Ilara and Nori.

We loved the storytelling and the banter between the Nori, the Crown Prince of the Winter Court. Nish, Sandus, Ryder and Haxil were the perfect foil for the serious Nori.
In a land where Affinity means power, and the title of King brings out the worst in the Fae, there were battles, twists and turns aplenty! Whilst it did, at times, feel a little repetitive, this series kept us enthralled to the end.

This book reminds me of the Paula Abdul song opposites attract, and not because we’re dealing with opposites that attract, although maybe a little bit after what we learn about Alara‘s affinity coming from the divine, or her being an angel or whatever, and his affinity being a dragon coming from the underworld but that’s not really a main theme throughout this book no what I mean when I say I’m reminded of that song is the lyric take two steps forward, and two steps back or something to that effect Because there were many things that were huge improvements in this third installment, Alara and Nora them and the guards working together, actually taking action to get back at that dragon guy king to get that diamond back and get that pendant that linked him to Alara I was honestly surprised that that got resolved in one book and I’m also honestly thinking there’s more that will happen there in the fourth and final book. It just seemed way too easy, our heroes were all working together to try and defeat the king, and prove that he was behind the dying fields and find this link to the warlock so I like that, even though it was really really not confusing, but they were just very muddied waters, and I know, without even having to go read the summaries of this authors, other series, that the firewall that shows up in this book is the main character in her other series and this is just some big crossover Which I mean I guess is OK but it just there’s a lot there’s just a lot OK you’ve got all of the different continents in this world as if that’s not enough we have to introduce this other universe earth it just seem like a lot and it had me rolling my eyes a little bit, so even though I did like the action And that they were actually doing things. It just felt a little short and I didn’t like that. The fire wolf is the one who wielded the ax to destroy that web that was killing the fields. I really feel like that should’ve been done by the heroes in this realm, I feel like that totally robbed them of that we couldn’t do it so we had to outsource it to someone else no but that just really kind of highlights how this author treats her characters and it’s not very nicely she doesn’t do them justice they’re really all kind of stupid and crass and infantile Saying things like fuck session and always laughing about how horny they are and all of that stuff it’s just so it’s very cheap. It’s just very very cheap now I am wondering because I haven’t really read much about Faye is that just a trait of the Faye do they all just talk about sex like that very openly I have to imagine not because Alara is very shy about it. She gets very embarrassed about it so I have to imagine that’s not like a universal treat But I honestly don’t know but it just takes me out of the story immediately and are you telling me that these characters don’t have enough control I mean it’s like every other sentence like oh I really admire her. I know I want to bend her over and fuck her right now like Just enough I guess that works for some people but not me like if I just wanted to read, pure, smart, like that I would just go read pier smart I would like some story please and these are really not super bright. They’re not at all they can’t figure out a way to link the king to the warlock and that’s also still their big idea like when the prince finally finds Alara and his big solution is oh I’m just gonna hide you in my chambers like what kind of idiotic idea is that, they are just not very bright and they’re not really big they’re still so focused on we’ve got a save the crops and we have to do all these things. They’re still just focusing on like playing the kings game instead of revolutionizing everything and I think now at the end of book 3 they’re finally finally finally getting to that point, but I just kept thinking while I was reading it like these motherfuckers are so stupid, and that’s not their fault. Obviously these are fictional characters. That is the authors fault. What is the point of these characters having all of these great powers if they’re also idiots and why has no one wondered if the same spell that was used on the field, and Alara is the same one used on the princes Mother why has no one made that connection. Everyone keeps talking about how powerful she would be if that spell wasn’t walking down her powers, seriously none of them have wondered if it’s the same thing I know her powers have to be become unleashed in the last book. I bet you anything it’s gonna be the queen who kills them if she’s even still alive and they don’t have any definitive proof to tie the king to the warlock but they think what they got on the looking glass is going to just have to be enough. I just I don’t see that I don’t see that happening at all, so I don’t know maybe the overall story is kind of weak. I’ve had that thought too cause I still don’t quite get like oh I’m gonna starve my people because I want to invade these other lands and I want to grow my territory so I’m gonna starve my people I’m gonna make my basically board of directors wanna invade And I’m gonna resist and resist until everyone’s so desperate and then give in and that’s gonna make everyone think I’m a hero I don’t know that I really buy that I mean I guess isn’t that also kind of what Hitler did but I don’t know it just seems the overall story seems a little a little far-fetched And we haven’t I don’t know that we’ve seen enough of the king to really buy into that and we have no proof that he’s behind the missing fee. We just have peoples assumptions oh, because that’s his character but we have an actually seen very much of it I mean yeah, we know he beats the queen so anyway, I do like that we continue to see more of Alara‘s affinity and her powers I was really hoping that she was gonna have more affinity than anyone, but I don’t know maybe there’s still more that we’re gonna learn about her and her angel background or whatever I’m gonna of course read the next book. I have to know how it all plays out but yeah, this installment is still very much like cool it with the modern day and acronyms and terminology. Cool it with all the sex talk and make the characters just a little bit smarter please just a little bit that’s all I’m asking.

This ended up being disappointing and frustrating.
There’s a subplot thrown in with Lara that was set up as very stressful and could’ve been the thing that carried a good portion of this book and was resolved far too easily. Perhaps it comes up in book 4… And she and Nori were only separated for like a day so that bit anticlimactic.
One thing I really loathe is when authors decide to throw in characters from one of their other series as if we’ve all read it but I would argue that not only have most not done that but it rarely equates to going back and reading the other series. Additionally, if you don’t know who those characters are then their presence offers nothing to the book. It also feels like a lazy way to not write a new character that actually makes sense for the series. She decided to this with about 30% left of this book. Not a fan.
I also really didn’t enjoy the merging of series because we leave the fae realm and go into the human realm so we can meet this character that meant nothing to the plot leading up to this point.
The constant reference to the mating bond and having Nori act like a caveman got old real fast in this book.
I gave this book a 3 because it was working for me until it wasn’t.

This book is a great example of what happens when you get a bad narrator.
I want to be clear here, the female narrator is amazing. She did the first two books single narration and I loved them. This is book 3 in the series and they went dual. The male narrator literally killed the story for me.
If book 4 is dual narrated I definitely won’t get the audio. I’ll have to just physically read it (which is fine and I might do it anyway.) but yeah, authors, be careful. A narrator can make or break your books.
