Sara never had it easy, born with the gift that would earn her the scrutiny of her fellow doctors.
When Sara was assigned to work with the paramedic team, she thought she could still guard her secrets well. But on the night of the Forefathers, her sixth sense brings all nightmares to life. She learns the shadows are real, and the men she has to work with will accept more than a weird doctor with a sixth sense asking them to chase air wraiths.
The book is a standalone urban fantasy 10k novelette (Halloween Special) set in the Amber Legend series. It contains adult language and descriptive medical procedures. Please read with caution.
Olena Nikitin is the pen name of a writing power couple who share a love of fantasy, paranormal romance, rich, vivid worlds and exciting storylines. In their books and out, they love down-to-earth humour, a visceral approach to life, striving to write realistic romances filled with the passion and steam people always dream of experiencing. Meet the two halves of this Truro UK-based dynamic duo!
Olga, a Polish woman, has a wicked sense of humour with a dash of Slavic pessimism. She’s been writing since she was a small child, but life led her to work as an emergency physician. While this work means she always has stories to share, it often means she’s too busy to actually write. She’s proud to be a crazy cat lady, and together with Mark, they have five cats.
Mark, a typical English gentleman, radiates charm, sophistication, and an undeniable sex appeal. At least, he’s reasonably certain that’s what convinced Olga to fly across the sea into his arms. He’s an incredibly intelligent man with a knack for fixing things, including Polish syntax in English writing. If you give him good whiskey, he might even regale you with his Gulf War story of how he got shot.
Really nice prequel novella! Would almost say it is a must-read before starting on Magic & Medicine. A lot of the “issues” with storytelling I had with M&M are not here so perhaps the authors can help their books better with more short stories within clearly defined borders instead of letting things drag on endlessly.
Also, authors– add this story more visible on your website. It is impossible to find (and download for free!) until you read M&M and use the link to go to the (external) download page.
I was given an ARC of this book, my review is honest and voluntary
If I hadn't already wanted to read Magic and Medicine (book 1) that would make me want to read it. I need to know more!
I can't believe how that ended, just when you think you know what it's leading to they throw that curveball at us! (Read it and you will know what I mean)
Magic, the unknown, gods, creepy shadow creatures this short story has it all. Plus a gay couple, because casual lgbt+ representation is always good.
Aaagh, I love this😍😍 This is such a cute short read. It gives us a backstory on Sara and her dream team (as she calls them in "Magic and Medicine"). And Stribog, come on, it's kinda sad, he is lonely, and now I'm struggling between hoping that next book in series about him, but then again I want Adam to have his own story...❤️❤️ Anyways this was chef's kisses😙🤌❤️

Sara can see ghosts. She's a doctor working with an ambulance crew of Ryszard Izbicki and Damian Rus, known as the Last Chance Boys. On Forefathers Day (Halloween), they are sent to an abandoned building where they find someone on the floor and this is where the excitement begins, Ghosts, demons, and the supernatural now appear. Very good read.
Sara is a doctor. She has been stigmatized because she has told people that she can see spirits. She is on an EMT run in Gdansk, Poland on Forefather's Night (Halloween in the West). And she gets involved in fighting a demon.
The novella is really excellent and I look forward to reading _Magic and Medicine_ and exploring other books by the author(s).
Was a quick read. Loved it! Keeps u on the edge of your seat. It was exciting and hold your breath for a moment book. Great read for being Halloween coming up!!! I wanna read more about them!
