A sexy swashbuckler with everything to prove. A swarthy sorcerer with nothing to lose. An amazon beauty whose fate is bound to both. This trilogy collects all three of Sarah Hawke's romantic, spicy, and action-packed The Blade of Highwind novels into a single volume!
Sarah Hawke is a prolific writer of science fiction and fantasy in multiple genres, including erotica, harem, and bondage. Her books are known for their intricate world-building, twisting plots, and fleshed-out characters—and of course their many intense, steamy sex scenes.
If you are interested in "pure" traditional harem stories, The Lost Fleet is the perfect place to start! Wings of the Seraph is a shorter, older series but also hits most of the traditional harem notes. Shadow of the Seraph features a rotating male and female pov with some F-F scenes involving temporary futanari, so avoid that unless it is your jam!
Her fantasy universe features many types of erotica stories involving bondage (Elf Slave, all the Spider Queen books) and non-traditional harems (The Amazon's Pledge, The Amazon's Vengeance). She also has two ongoing fantasy erotica series with intense action and multiple points of view, War of the White Throne and The Blade of Highwind.
Lately I've seen some very brave people on social media ask "what would smutty romantasy/fantasy romance written for male audiences look like?"
After finishing these, Sarah Hawke here feels like someone trying to answer that question and doing it very well, combining some interesting worldbuilding flourishes on top of a familiar fantasy backdrop, a fun and fast-paced adventure narrative, and a delightful romantic pair (I may be biased because the female lead has the personality of my favourite tabletop character turned up to 11). Altogether it reads like, in the most complimentary way, an incredibly horny D&D campaign (in other words, a D&D campaign?).
I get the impression these didn't sell as well as some of her other work and I have my theories as to why (a lot of her previous work is in some very niche subgenres and I suspect a lot of that audience might not have made the jump) but I've really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the follow-ups!
This series continues the Highwind story with three new heroes. There are all sorts of problems and hardships that this crew of adventurers as they fight their way to the thrilling finish.
I have liked everything I have read from Sarah Hawke and look forward to continuing with these characters in the new books of (War of the White Throne) series.
