If you like Bernard Cornwell, David Gemmell, John Gwynne and Conn Iggulden you will love this Viking adventure packed with battles, betrayal, axes and swords.
880 AD, Norway. Rollo the Betrayer has risen to become a powerful Duke in Normandy and sails with his warriors and his spite to exact revenge upon Viking warriors Hundr and Einar the Brawler.
Hundr, a Northman with a dog's name… Viking warships flying the raven banner… epic battles, berserkers, twists and turns.
Hundr and Einar are faced with a brutal enemy and must fight to protect their home, their loved ones and their reputations. The war with Rollo takes them deep into Viking Norway, and into a war with the King of Frankia and his vast army.
Hundr must seek help from King Harald Fairhair and his old friend Haesten to overcome his mortal enemy. Can he survive brutal betrayal and vicious shield wall battles in this fast paced Viking adventure with striking characters and bloodthirsty action?
Revenge of the Betrayer continues the unmissable Viking historical fiction saga series which began with Award Winning Author Peter Gibbons' debut novel Viking Blood and Blade.

Man, I love this series. Peter Gibbons has 2 different Viking series, and they're both amazing. Hundr and Einar are at it again, getting their revenge on nemesis, Rollo the Betrayer!!
Mr Gibbons knows how to write an action scene so well. Blood, a flurry of sword play not to mention characters you really care about. Were 7 books in and have seen Hundr go from small bildge boy to the Champion of the North. How much more does he have left in him? Speaking of, we've watched Einar the Brawler go from ship captain to older, and looking to settle down. It's always fun to see him brush off old age and kick some ass! I know the next one just came out, and I'm stoked.
What a ride. This is non stop action from start to finish. I even found myself quite emotional in places. Don't worry, no hints or storyline from me. This is fast becoming my favourite series of all time and that's saying something. Fans of historical fiction know there are quite a few excellent authors in the genre. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Can't wait for the next one now.
Super excellent series if you're a viking warrior freak like me. I was hooked from the 1st chapter of the first book in this Blood and Blade series and read them all. This author goes above and beyond in his descriptions of characters and battle scenes. You can literally visualize what's happening as if it were a movie. This series should be movies.
Glad I found Peter Gibbons and will definately be reading and following all his stuff. THANK YOU!
I have read every book in this series. This last one was exciting as were the previous books. There are several totally surprising so I mention here. I'm eagerly the next book. I will mention here that I have read other book by this author and every one has been as thrilling as this one. I highly recommend this book
Peter Gibbons tale dives, surges and transcends in storytelling as each book has its won twists and the fates or ‘norns’ make Hundr’s story a living thing. Well written!
Book 7 and most likely the last book in this series. Hundr has finally fought his last enemy Rollo but at a huge cost. This book was bittersweet for me. I love the non stop fighting and even the betrayal scene between the two jarls.

This is another installment of this really addictive saga. I keep holding my breath at the end of each book - praying for the next one 😊 I truly LOVE this author - none of his books disappoint! If you are looking for a good read - pick book one and keep reading!!!
Still as good as the first book , on to the last in the series but really don’t want it to end , enjoyed every page and chapter , thank you for a thrilling ride and hope for many more .
I’ve read through several great series of action type books but this is my favorite. In the early part of the series I read all I could & earlier in the last few months I re-read 3 & then went on. Very satisfying books!
Story telling at its best. I found this book a great story and loved the details of the characters relationships with each other as it developed more engaging story.
So much action as usual. I love the excitement and tension that is non stop as well as the relationships between the characters. I absolutely love Einar the brawler too!
