~ Mike ~ When Matt appeared on my doorstep and told me some outlandish story about my wife having an affair with his husband, I didn't believe him. And then he showed me the pictures and I knew it was true. I was devastated. I never saw it coming. I wasn't sure what I was going to do until I realized if I didn't act, I could lose custody of my two-year old son, and I wasn't about to let that happen. I just needed a little help.
~ Matt ~ When I found out that my husband had been having an affair and wanted a divorce I had no problem agreeing. When he offered me twenty-five thousand dollars to take full responsibility for our newborn daughter, I couldn't sign fast enough. I didn't even tell him about the video I had of him and his affair partner, but I had no problem telling her husband.
Cheating was the absolute worst betrayal of trust, but I quickly discovered that cheating was the least of my ex-husband's crimes. As Mike and I try to navigate the horrors of our married lives, I start to realize that I had simply married the wrong man. I had a much better chance of forever with Mike. I just had to convince him.
This book is basically a spinoff of the Galeazzi Trilogy. Matt discovers that his husband of 4 years has cheated on him and with photographic and video proof, he discovers the identity of his mistress and informs her husband, Mike of their secret. Matt’s husband wants a divorce and to relinquish custody of their daughter. Mike wants a divorce from his wife and custody of their son. When confronted, things take a weird turn. We learn that there are MANY nefarious reasons behind Matt’s husband’s behavior.
Matt suggests the easiest way to avoid losing the kids is to get married and adopt each other’s child. For most of the book, all the choices Matt & Mike make are practical and in no way romantic until their wedding night. Both men have a lot to drink and one night of passion ignites feelings between them.
- kidnapping - Gun violence - Assault - Omega trafficking ***** POV… multi first person
Standalone or series… spinoff of series CAN be read as a standalone
This book was entertaining, there was a lot going on so there was never a dull moment, it was however very over the top and a bit unbelievable. I also read this book because I wanted to read a romance, and there was very little romance in this book, nothing really happened between the two main characters until about 70% into the book, and it wasn’t even slow burn, it was just non existent.
I normally enjoy Aja Foxx books, I read their books when I want an over the top mushy romance fix, this one never hit the mark.
I really enjoy Aja Foxx books. This one had the wild story of Matt and Mike whose spouses were having an affair with each other. I wish we could have seen a little more of the romance between these two but there really was so much happening that it was hard for that to happen. Also, why did they not even speak to each other for three months after everything that happened at the end? Not even as friends?
Hmmm meh kaayo nya 1 time ra sila nag chungkang pag wedding night.
I really like this book. It ha a lot of everything from drama to action, to violence, kidnapping and just a really dumb person. Dereck is a dumb ass. Matt and Mike could have chosen revenge but they choose to way for the better man for there them and they kids. They got their happy ending and Derek, revenge is a dis serve cold.
