The story of Ingris (I know it is spelled as Inglis in the book, but why else call her Chris?) obsession to become a strong fighter continues. This time she and her friends have to deal with Ripple's problem of constantly summoning monsters to her location, something that is clearly the result of manipulation by Highlanders (or so is the assumption anyway).
What follows, much like the earlier two volumes, is a story about a lots of fighting mixed with boob jokes, food jokes and jokes about Chris' obsession with food, herself and fighting and the occasional interesting titbit on the mysteries of the world. How no faction is what it appears to be on a first glance and there is no clear villain. I get Chris' obsession with fighting, it is what keeps her OP powers from solving the mysteries and the conflict from going on. This time the fighting was kept somewhat interesting since it threatened people other then the MC (who will never be in danger anyway). Still, I simply paged through many of the fighting sections since I find them boring.
All in all, bit of a shame to be honest - a very interesting world and story concept for me dragged down for me by clutter that I don't find particularly funny. Not my thing and I doubt it is going to change after 3 volumes, so I am going to drop the series.
I loved all of the missing pieces that the anime didn’t include. I’m glad that Inglis and Rani are besties in everything. I still can’t believe Ripple had to fight all of her former comrades.
