It might be the fact that I’m reading them so close together, but Mukouda is beginning to annoy me. He’s still so surprised at everything, and super cowardly despite having the most ridiculous cheats that guarantee he won’t get hurt. . Of course in this one the God of all creation decided to give him a blessing so he ended up being able to live 1500 years. Not only is that some thing I wouldn’t want to do, but originally Fel and Dora made the contracts with him because it was only a few short decades in their lifespan. Now they’re all gung ho for him to cook for them for 1500 years. He is always pushed around by his familiars or the gods, so it feels like he has no self agency.
The gods have zero self control and are a bunch of addicts…and yet Mukouda is continuing the trend of giving offerings to the god of all creation. My impression of him also took a huge hit when he bought the slaves and wanted cute girls to both be his maids and be willing to have sex with him. Ugh. Really? It just seemed so out of place that suddenly sex is mentioned, along with possibly visiting the red light district for prostitutes.
I also feel that the author should spend a little more time on the three heroes, instead of making them short bonus chapters. I rolled my eyes when it said that the trio are apparently getting married, and of course the guy is somehow hopeless at laundry and cooking. I can accept that some skill is necessary for cooking, but laundry, really? WTF are you bringing to the table?? I did want them to meet Mukouda, but he might be tiresomely complaining about normies and how unfair it all is if he does.
The lengthy descriptions of alcohol continue and are no more interesting to me then the descriptions of food were. I feel like the author is just doing it to meet a certain word count.

I’m continuing to enjoy this, but I really dislike the fact that slaves were brought into this. It’s a trend I keep seeing in isekai series and I really wish they weren’t brought into the story. It’s great that they’re treated well, but it doesn’t really change the fact that Mukohda literally bought people. It makes things very uncomfortable
While this was another fun, easy to read instalment, there were a few things which made me go “ick”. I absolutely understand that these would be deal breakers for many people.
1) Slaves are a thing. It’s something that Mukohda engages in (he buys slaves). While “criminal slaves” seem to be distinct from regular slaves, criminal slaves being more what we’d think of in our world, and regular slaves having some protections… it’s very much not great.
2) Mukohda’s entire approach to women. Like, he actively wants a sex slave and is incredibly disappointed that one isn’t available. When he can’t have that, he also wants a “cute girl maid” which again, ewwwwww no. Stop it. Thankfully, he is denied this. I really hope he never ends up getting either of these. Like - just stay away from women in a romantic and/or sexual capacity, ok? Ok.
At least there isn’t any abuse of the power dynamic? Idk man. It’s… not good. We’ll see how we go.
While I've really enjoyed this series so far, it definitely gets repetitive. Every chapter is just the familiars rudely demanding meat. So this volume was refreshing, seeing Mukohda buying a house. HOWEVER, while he's always been a bit of a closet incel, him just casually attempting to buy literal sex slaves was... a choice by the author, I suppose.
After the excitement of Aveling's dungeon, it's back to Dolan to drop off the idiotic disgrace of an elf Elrand, get the red dragon butchered and back to Karelina, where he decides to settle down as a base.
Such a comfort read, and I just can't seem to put it down.
accidentally wrote this under the wrong volume, so here we go again:
I think this one is my least favorite installment. you can like...sort of? accept? the slavery part being more like indentured servitude? but like, it's still...slavery? I can sort of understand it in terms of like...so far, there doesn't really seem to be a ton of consequences for crime, eventually someone's going to do something unscrupulous and it's like okay, are they going to jail, is it execution, what are we looking at here. but then it's like. ah part of the answer is slavery. um. well.
I also don't like the way mukohda is dealing with his lack of love life and the subsequent feelings/attitude that he has about women. the fact that his first thought after accepting that slavery is a thing is to see if he can buy some cute girls is so disgusting I cannot even. I'm like the number one proponent of, this is fiction, this is a fantasy book, this is a, different from our world, fantasy world, fiction is fiction...and even I cannot condone this one. even though mukohda swears up and down that he wouldn't do anything, he just wants some eye candy (still ew), the fact of the matter is that he would still be in a position of power over them in a way that they did not consent to. and I think also because of this character trait revealing itself, this is also where I start to get annoyed with mukohda's cowardice.
Hero and familiars now own palatial home so staff is needed including guards, so many new characters including 3 apprentice cooks and 2 not smart guards with smart big sister. I would have liked for hero to meet up with other Japanese from same summoning but at least he heard about them.
Mukouda is starting to settle in his life in this alternate world. He's gotten himself a house as a permanent base to go back to when he's not traveling. I'm curious to see what impact he could potentially have now that he's continued gaining power and status (mostly because of his familiars). I'm curious if he'll eventually run into the three Heroes that got summoned.
The idea of buying slaves is really a big negative for me. (and the MC does buy them)
When the main character talks about women, it is seriously cringey. I mean the main character is a 27 yr old virgin, so it sort of makes sense, but ugh, it hurts.

I enjoyed reading how the god of all creation punish the other gods for manipulating Mukouda. I also enjoy the tenacity of Mokouda’s familiars for meat. The house he bought is good too for a base. But when will love come by?
When the gods play, it's time to pay. This expands in the gods, who's in charge and what he can do. Sadly the book felt too short. Can't wait for the next one
mukohda's earned hard and now he's spending hard. in this volume mukohda sets up his home base and that allows us to take a closer look into the politics of this world - yass more worldbuilding.
This one made me really want to slap Mukoda. I started disliking him a few books ago. He constantly feels sorry for himself despite the fact he has tons of blessing and an easy life. They introduce another god and they talk about the "heros" which is a side story I don't really care about. However, Mukoda complains about his unlucky love life which is tupid and has no importance to the story. Mukoda learns to butcher stuff. They go back to the Dolan dungeon for fun. They then leave Dolan in route to Karelina. I really disliked a lot of this one, so it is only getting 2 stars. I'm starting to dislike the sexist comments from the author....sweets are enjoyed by ANYONE who like sweets, despite their sex, just like any other food! Mukoda buys a house, with 14 rooms, like really? You just need a house with a big bath and kitchen...not 14 rooms! Ridiculous, then of course you need people to take care of it, so he goes buy some slaves.....really? Oh and the comment about a sex slave, super sleazy sick perverted! This whole house, slaves and sex is SO unnecessary to develop the story. Finally, the author really needs to stop using disrespectful comments like "masho ladies", theya re just ripped or muscular, not macho. Why are these comments so insensitive? Where are the editors?!?!?!?! This has been the worst of all of the volumes I have read so far. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!
It's heartwarming that Mukohda's finally forming connections that will not just be fleeting but will stay with him for a long time. I'm excited to see where and how his relationship with these people grow.
I'm looking forward to reading more of him and the people around him as he spends his time in Karelina. Also, I'm also looking forward to reading whatever adventures he and his familiars go through. I'm quite excited for the next!
he really redeemed himself in this volume, hist character was getting a little irksome in the previous volume but I have happy his character is properly shining through now.
