When I lost my best friend, I lost myself. Until he arrived.
Darian Montgomery--The billionaire’s heir. They say he was expelled from his last school, but no one knows why. Worse, he’s kind of obsessed with me (god knows why), even though the last thing I need is a boyfriend right now, especially one who’s arrogant, entitled and, yes, all kinds of cute.
But when we’re forced together for a project, I start to see behind the façade. There’s more than meets the eye to this bad boy, an actual human being. My emotions are spiraling and I have no clue what to do. A surprise wilderness camp only compounds matters, not to mention a bombshell secret.
I didn’t think I’d fall for a guy like this, especially when I’m still trying to put the pieces of my broken heart back together. I don’t think it could handle being broken again.
So why is my head telling me to take a chance on the one thing I’m sure will end in disaster?
The Billionaire’s Heir Can Kiss is a swoony high-school romance that can be read standalone. Includes super sweet happily-ever-after.
trying too hard to be gen z cos what is “‘Says the cringiest cringe of them all’” but Ivan the Russian mafia member (?) and the Taylor Swift reference ate
A story of the female main character, Belle, who has recently lost her late best friend. It follows her journey of attempting to live again, find trust and happiness and… love. Now, that might sound really depressing and I think I may have over exaggerated a little but it really is about.. just that. I was expecting the characters in this book to be a bit more mature but they just weren’t. It’s kind of odd to be honest, what with Belle’s feelings of such raw loss but then her age is ‘supposedly’ 17 and she is thinking so deeply about kisses?! The book is definitely a slow burn with quite a sweet HEA (Happily Ever After) and average characters, but I feel as though it didn’t really delve into any of the characters’ personality and looks, apart from a few minor details here and there. I just felt it was missing so much and it didn’t really stand out to me… making me think “what a good book.” Normally I would think about the storyline after reading it but all I was thinking about is “what was missing?” I, personally, was not a fan and probably won’t be reading this again. However, I will recommend this to ages 10-13-ish —> it barely, barely classes as YA. Xoxo…
In my opinion this was a fun read. I found both Belle and Darian complex and have walls a mile high. Darian comes across as arrogant, obnoxious and very unlikeable. As the story unfolds I'm able to see past his flaws and I came to like him. Belle is sad, heart broken independent and very stubborn I liked her. Darian and Belle makes a good team when they worked together. This is a young adult read, so sometimes things seemed to be a little juvenile. This is my favorite Glenwood Academy Book to this point. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.
After reading back to back serial killers it was lovely to sink into some light teen angst. Belle is struggling after the death of her bestie until the new guy arrived at school. He so annoyed her and filled her daily thoughts. She doesn't need this rich, entitled guy in her life....or does she. She's real and he likes that. The class mean girl is determined to cause trouble for them. Will this couple find their way through school and beyond. Both so different and yet the same as teens. I really enjoyed the glimpse into the future, they both deserved their HEA.
I am so happy for another Glenwood Academy book! This is the fifth book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I love the complexity added to these characters personalities and conflicts. Belle and Darian do not start out on the right foot due to perceptions. Belle has endured extreme heartache and is closed off and Darian has walls up as well. I love how this book slowly brings these walls down plus there is an epilogue that is so satisfying and ties this story up so well.
Arc review For honest Review. This story has belle Thompson and darian Montgomery getting to know each other while at school its really cute, adorable, and I thought that the characters felt genuine.
I really enjoyed this story. It pulled me in from beginning to end and was really cute. Belle is hurting after losing her best friend and has walls up and trying to figure out what to do and how to move forward is some ways. Darian walks in as the new kid and rumors abound. They do not hit it off right away, as Belle is annoyed and irritated with him at first. Darian on the other hand seems to be drawn to her from the get go. Then they have to work together on a school project and they both start seeing past the walls the other has up. This story was cute and sweet and I really enjoyed it. It pulled me in from beginning to end and I had fun reading it. I'm excited for more books in the series. This one can be read as a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
