The battle of wits and flirtatious energy between them was enough to satisfy the desire hiding behind his playful demeanor. Until it wasn't, now he'll stop at nothing to make her his. When I first met Taylor I was enthralled by her very being. The way she was confident, fierce, and loyal to those closest to her made her all the more captivating. My hopes for a chance with her were diminished when I found out she was unavailable in the way I wanted her most. After a year of settling for friendship, she's finally ready to start dating - only the person she chooses isn't me.
I swore to myself I would never be in the position to be hurt by love again. Or anything that dared to imitate it. But watching my friends hit milestones I secretly long for has me rethinking my stance on dating. I take a chance on a guy I thought I could trust, only to be proven a fool. When I'm on the verge of giving up completely, the person I least expect begins to show me how loved I could be- if I let him.
Waiting for Healing is the sequel of Waiting for Sunshine which was Sarah’s debut novel. Best to read in order as WFH makes some references of WFS. But they’re both binge worthy!
I was not ready for Tucker and Taylor and I’m not sure you guys will be ready for them either!!!!
Taylor is a little spitfire, and Tucker is witty! They both have big personalities. Those 2 friends became lovers in the best and cutest way possible. There’s a road trip involved with lots of adventures, and that was just the beginning! It’s brilliant, funny (like I literally laughed out loud so often!), and there’s moments you want to throat punch people (thanks to Tucker, he was there to make things right). There’s also very sad moments that I’ve ugly cried so hard (see trigger warnings). I think I’ve laughed as much as I cried.
Tucker is possibly the most patient man alive and his intentions are very clear from the get-go. So glad Taylor finally let herself feel, and love again. Taylor has the best group of friends aka family. They’re all there to support her and those friendships are so special!
And I love that we still got to see more of Shane and Max - and they’re so freakin’ cute!
Tropes: - friends to lovers - he falls first, and boy did he ever fall hard! - steamy - road trip - forced proximity
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Again, there are trigger warnings, make sure to read them before reading the book.
I’ve received this e-ARC as a gift for an honest review.
Disclaimer, I received this as an ARC for my honest opinion.
Taylor and Tuckers story picks up pretty much where Shane and Max’s end, post epilogue. While you could get away with reading them as stand-alone books, you’ll get the absolute most out of it by reading them in order. One of my favorite things about WFH was the fact that we got little snippets of Shane and Max and how their future progresses while keeping the focus on Taylor and Tucker, that made it extra special for me. Sarah Pirtle did a fantastic job of showcasing grief, depression, and self doubt while still maintaining a light hearted main storyline. This book is also such a good example of “If I’m too much, go find less”! There was excellent banter and even better character growth all wrapped up with a pretty bow.
Now let me get to the extra fun stuff! The spice in this one was SO good! Tucker has a dirty mouth and I 👏 here 👏 for 👏 it! That man, OH LORD! 🥵🥵
“I love how you look on your knees for me.”
“Crawl to me, baby.”
“And whoever made you think you were too much to handle can go find less or go to hell.
Cause you’re mine, Darlin'. I plan on ruining you for anyone else. Cause I’m already ruined for you.”
“Home for me is anywhere you are Darlin’”
Read this if you like: 🫶 He falls first 🫶 “You’re Mine” 🫶 Dirty talk 🫶 Road tripping with a little forced proximity 🫶 Friends to lovers 🫶 Girl Gangs 🫶 Found family 🫶 Some military aspects (touches on PTSD) 🫶 All the feel good vibes 🫶 NO 3RD ACT BREAKUP!
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I’m really really really hoping to see more of Tanks story in the next books!
Thank you to Sarah for an ARC of this great book - I’m voluntarily providing a review for it!
This was an adorable second book from Sarah Pirtle.
We see Taylor and Tucker who are friends (but Tucker is such a sweet talker) and they find themselves heading out West for a wedding. On a whim, Taylor decides to drive back to Nashville with Tucker, kicking off a road trip of epic proportions - they’ve never spent this much time together…alone, so what’s the worst that could happen?
Great pace, snappy writing, with glimpses of all our favorite Chatahooochies side characters.
Waiting for Healing is book 2 in the Nashville Nights series, and it is amazing!
While technically speaking, I think you could read this as a standalone, I would definitely read the first book before diving into this as it will give you more insight into the characters in this story.
So I don't normally go for friends to lovers books! I do love a good "he falls first" trope. The character developments are amazing, and the romance is (for me) surprisingly off the charts and steamy!
Thank you so much to Sarah Pirtle for the ARC! All opinions are my own!
“Because you, Darlin', are everything to me. I will never stop showing you just how much I want you. Every bit of you that you’ve been convinced for so long is too much, is exactly what I crave every single day. I’ll never stop reminding you that you’re perfect just the way you are.”
I read the first book in this series, Waiting for Sunshine from seeing it on here & I was so glad I did because I adored it & Shane & Max’s love story.
I was lucky enough to ARC read this one & don’t even have the words to explain what I just read 😍🥹🥵 To put it simply, I truly didn’t think I would love any further couple in the Nashville Nights series more than Max & Shane, but boy was I wrong!
Taylor is Shane’s best friend from book 1, she is a fiery & independent redhead who hasn’t dated since high school after having her heart broken.
Tucker is Max’s best friend from book 1, he is a former Navy SEAL who is possessive, obsessive & head over heels for Taylor. He is incredibly patient, very flirty, super kind & caring & a great communicator with a very dirty mouth 😏👄🌶️
“Let me show you how good I can make you feel when I’m the one in control.”
This book is sweet & hella spicy! My 2 favourite things about a book 🥰🥵 I felt so many different feelings & emotions while reading this & I cried happy tears many times because it’s just that beautifully written 🥲
“Maybe I was waiting for healing too and didn’t even know it. Not until you came along and patched me up. Every smart ass comeback, every eye roll, every flirty interaction. Every kiss, everytime I hear my name fall from your lips, you’re mending my heart just to make it yours.”
Do you ever pick up a book and just smile the entire way through it? I felt like this was the case for me with this book. When I was reading Waiting For Sunshine, I messaged Sarah and was like "PLEASE TELL ME TUCKER GETS A BOOK!" because we all know I don't read blurbs! He was worth the wait! I absolutely loved this book!
I loved the way that he fell first and HARD and had zero qualms letting her know that. The road trip was so good and so cute! I love a good road trip! And no third act breakup? Sign me up! The character development for Taylor was amazing. I found her to be so relatable and I found their honesty with each other to be so refreshing.
If you are looking for a great read that you won't be able to put down with some amazing character growth and spice, this book is for you. Thank you Sarah for trusting me with you baby! I loved them so!
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. I don’t think Sarah could write a bad book. Her writing makes me happy.
I absolutely adored every bit of this book. Start to finish I was intrigued and excited. I have been waiting since I finished Waiting for Sunshine for Taylor and Tucker’s story and OMG it did not disappoint.
Taylor is an incredible character that I admire deeply. She is a force to be reckoned with, she’s got a big heart and a spicey personality. I love that she stands up for herself and Tucker never takes that away from her.
Tucker, now this man is a dream. Smart, sweet, protective, CAN COOK, and he is supportive. He’s not only Taylor’s best friend but also her biggest cheer leader. This man is the perfect partner in life.
Together this couple is just amazing. 2 amazing people, 1 heartwarming story
Side note: I can’t wait for Ruby and Tank’s story.
Fantastic book! Enjoyed this one much more than the last book. I liked that the ideas in the story didn’t overlap like they did in the last book. I also enjoyed that we saw the start of the connection building between Taylor and Tucker in the previous book so that it was familiar. Bring on Tank and Ruby!!
4.75⭐️ If you loved Waiting for Sunshine, you’re definitely going to love Waiting for Healing. I seriously was not prepared for how much I was going to fall in love with Tucker Landry. Their relationship bloomed wonderfully and I really enjoyed all of the communication that went on. We love good communication skills!! Little forced proximity and a lot of vulnerability on both sides, cannot wait for the next story in this series.
ARC review in exchange for my honest opinion I loved Tucker and Taylor’s story! There was so much love between the two of them! Tucker had it bad for Taylor from the get go and Taylor may be a spitfire which I loved but she was waiting for this man! Tucker always said the most perfect things! The ending was absolute perfection!! 🤍
This book was INCREDIBLE. The writing was impeccable 👌🏼 you're just flowing through the pages, living the story. It's awesome.
“But I’d rather fight with Taylor than laugh with anyone else.”
I loved the roadtrip and how Tucker and Taylor got to spend time together, just the two of them. It allowed them to get to know each other better, learn about their childhood, their past, and enjoy the nature and just being together. They allowed themselves to be vulnerable with each other and just listen to the other and be there for them. They really went into their relationship knowing one another and you can feel how deep they care and love each other. 🥰🥰
“You keep a smile on my face.”
The view is so beautiful, and beautifully depicted with the mountains, the lake, the waterfall... It just makes you want to go on a roadtrip, forget about the world and other responsibilities and just take a break from reality too. Of course, having your own Tucker with you would be the absolute best.
“I pay attention to the things that surround you.”
The spice takes you by surprise, no matter how much you hear there's going to be, which I think is awesome. Like, the dirty mouth on Tucker and him being so bossy 🤭 You are not prepared!
“Crawl to me, baby.”
It's funny, there's a lot of witty, flirty banter. Perfect to brighten your day.
“Passenger princesses get full music rights, everyone knows that.”
The little bits we got of the other characters were incredible. Like, Max and Shane 🥹 I wasn't that surprised but it was just SO sweet. Made me want to go back and reread WFS. I liked that we got to see more of Tank and Ruby, who were less in the previous book (and of course, little Hendrix). I am so excited for all the character's future books, I cannot wait!
"Actually, my ass already looks perfect today. Real firm." (I'll let you guess who said it and then go read the book to find out 🤭)
I have highlighted so many sentences, it's crazy. 😱🫣 Tucker is yet another bookboyfriend. Welcome to the ever growing list!
“All she has to do is ask, and I’d give her the goddamn world.”
💘 Friends to lovers 💘 He falls first 💘 Protective and a little bossy MMC 💘 Forced proximity 💘 One bed 💘 Ex military MMC 💘 Spicy 💘 No third act breakup
Thank you so much for my arc copy! It was the absolute best 🥰
Tucker and Taylor have my heart! I enjoyed Waiting for Sunshine but I am in love with Waiting for Healing! Tucker Laundry might just be up there near daddy Cade Eaton for me now. The character delve, getting to see a deeper side to Taylor and a darker history of Tucker was so well done. The relationship development between these two was also so beautiful. I loved the way Sarah wrote the "forced proximity" trope into this book, it was both funny and heartwarming; I adored seeing TT road tripping together. Alrighty, I'm going to stop just fully gushing now and try to lay it out for y'all...
Waiting for Healing is book two in the Nashville Nights series by Sarah Pirtle. This was only Sarah's second published novel and jeeze did she blow it out of the water! The perfect balance of heavy moments and light-hearted jabs between these two was so brilliantly done. There was a good amount of character growth for the time frame and we already had good set up of T and T's relationship from the first book but then also getting to see them pulling aside their curtains to reveal their softer and more vulnerable sides to each other was so beautiful to see. While Taylor and Tucker, and their relationship is the star of this book I cannot rave enough about how much I love the friendships and "found family" aspect of this series, that was developed further in Waiting for Healing. I can't quite remember if these are marketed as a series of stand-alones but I feel as though, thus far they would be best read as a series in order of release. I think you will get the most out of this series reading it like this and getting to see all the highs and the lows of both the main characters of each book as well as the side characters of each book, who I'm assuming are mostly all going to get their own novels as well. I loved getting the beautiful moments of Shane and Max we got to see in this book. This book had a pretty heavy scene towards the end so I'm really hoping that it get revisited and a big discussion happens regarding it in the next book and that it won't just be glazed over because it's such a serious topic.
I read this book as an ARC that was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
Taylor is sassy but sweet, always says what’s on her mind even though she has insecurities + knows what she wants in this world which isn’t a man . That is until her casual hookup randomly decides to ask her on a date + she decides that her man ban is officially over .
Tucker has demons from his past that show up through his PTSD but he does a fantastic job at keeping them under control . Tucker is all in when it comes to Taylor so if she needs to take the lead so she can feel in control after getting her heartbroken, Tucker has no problem following her anywhere .
Taylor + Tucker’s story starts almost immediately where Waiting For Sunshine ends - just a couple days prior . I HIGHLY recommend reading this book in series order + not as a complete standalone . There is so much crossover from book 1 that you will be confused and missing information without reading it first .
With that being said, I did think that there were times in Taylor + Tucker’s story that focused too much on Shane + Max . I wanted them to be more of the main focus and not the tasks they were doing to help Shane + Max’s story continue . NOW the times where the two of them are together were so amazing !! The road trip was my favorite part of the whole story ! Excellent banter, chemistry that was never ending and all the feel good vibes that come with getting to know someone on a deeper level .
Mixed in with these tender moments of lightheartedness were heavier moments that came with talk of grief, depression, PTSD + serious self doubt . But they were done in such a good way that it never made the story feel overly sad or like these topics were out of place . There are a bunch of side character that you get to see more of in this book like Tank, Ruby + of course little Hendrix . I’m excited to see where the rest of the Nashville Nights series goes !
This book was given to me for honest review by author Sarah Pirtle .
I challenge you to add this book to your 2024 TBR before reading my review. Trust me! Run to the store right now, grab some rice crispy treats, your favorite margarita or martini, and make some homemade burnt cookies, without burning your house down. You won’t want to miss the road trip of your life! And, don’t worry, it’s FREE on Kindle Unlimited.
Okay, now that you’ve added Waiting for Sunshine & Waiting for Healing to your Amazon Wishlist or downloaded it FREE from KU:
Tucker is a former Navy SEAL and Taylor works at the hospital. After she is utterly embarrassed and heartbroken from her highschool crush, she has never trusted men with her heart, truly afraid that she wouldn’t be able to recover. After both of their best friends get married, it complicates Tucker’s feelings for Taylor. She flies to San Francisco to support Shane in her art exhibit; Tucker invites Taylor to drive back to Nashville with him, instead of flying back. Who knew that this road trip would ignite such banter and angst that would leave you die hard laughing, tearing up, swooning, and on your knees for more?
Waiting for Healing blew me away in gasps and awes that just always left me craving more of Tucker and Taylor. Tucker is 100% bookboyfriend worthy, leaving all the girls swooning. Men, lesson one: read this book, study it, and live it out on your woman. Thank me later.
I love this book so much! I cannot wait for Waiting for Redemption with Tank & Ruby! This series will be my comfy reads for now on. I will be reading this book again soon!
Elements: Found Family, Friends to Lovers, Spicy Road Trip, Banter & Agnst, Touch Her and Die, Forced Proximity, He Falls First, Slow Burn
“To the ones who have spent their whole life healing others, when all they want is to be healed” (pg 5).
“I am helplessly in love with every single thing that makes you who you are” (pg 213).
“Please drink some water today. Maybe let me witness it, for my own sanity” (pg 272).
My Notes: ●Make the Key Lime Pie Martini (recipe on @authorsarahpirtle instagram page) <- IT’S DELICIOUS ->Dip rim of martini glass with agave syrup then garnish the rim with honey graham crackers ●Make Marilyn’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies (pg 354)
“We never made it to dinner, and I’m starving. Mind if I feast on you, Darlin'?” “I’d never let you starve.”
TUCKER FREAKING LANDRY AND TAYLOR FREAKING CLARK.
I don’t have words.
I truly am so freaking obsessed with these two it’s unhealthy.
Friends to lovers???? HE FALLS FIRST AND HE FALLS HARD??? One *truck* bed??? A ROADTRIP WITH A WATERFALL??? The slow burn??? The BANTER????
“Where are you? It’s loud as hell.” “Buying your Christmas gift actually.” “Reallyy?” “Sure, but I can’t seem to find the coal factory anywhere. Would you settle for charcoal? I could hit up The Home Depot and call it a day.”
Taylor is a spitfire and Tucker is the perfect match. Man’s is OBSESSED with her, despite her making him wait while she dates quite literally the scum of the earth.
Welcome to the #zanderhater club, current population: me and @daycourtlibrary
“You were worth the wait, Darlin'.” “I’m sorry I made you wait, Tucker.”
Can we just take a sec to talk about nicknames because darlin and peach just about took me the f out. The mouth on tucker?? SWOON.
“Crawl to me, baby.” “You’re joking.” “You heard me Darlin'. I love seeing you on your knees for me. So you can either sit there and watch me f—k my hand, or you can bring that smart little mouth of yours over here and let me f—k your face.”
“See, real men get on their knees for their women. Not bring them to theirs in tears.”
And lastly, our girl Tay. She’s so relatable and quite literally if I were a nurse we may be the same person just without the red hair. Half of the things she says I could see myself saying and I am just so happy she got her happy ending because tuck is amazing and they’re amazing and I’m in love.
Waiting for Healing is the second book in the Nashville Nights series and it is recommended that you read them in order.
"Waiting for Healing" by Sarah Pirtle was a great contemporary romance to make me feel warm and cozy. It is book 2 in Pirtle's Nashville Nights series.
Taylor has decided to start dating again but chooses the wrong man to start with. Tucker has been waiting for Taylor to notice him for a while. At their friends' wedding, Taylor finally notices Tucker as a possibility. When Taylor decides to join Tucker on a road trip sparks are finally flying and their relationship blossoms.
I acquired this book because I enjoyed the first book in Pirtle's Nashville Nights series and wanted to read more from her.
Rating on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being exceptional), this is how I rank the following aspects of "Waiting for Healing": - Quality of writing: 9/10 - Pace: 8/10 - Plot development: 8/10 - Characters: 9/10 - Enjoyability: 10/10 - Ease of Reading: 10/10 - Spicyness: 9/10
In addition, Tucker has made it to my short list of amazing book boyfriends. He is definitely drool-worthy. I absolutely love the banter between Taylor and Tucker and they make a beautiful couple. I enjoyed the dual POVs and I truly loved the spicy chapters from Tucker's POV (I haven't read too many books where you get a spicy chapter from the male's perspective). Typically, I'm not a big fan of friends-to-lovers tropes, but I feel Pirtle did an excellent job in making the chemistry between Tucker and Taylor believable and lovable. The pace of this book is very quick which also made it easier to read. I very much enjoyed reading this book and I can see myself reading it again in the future because it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading: contemporary romance and friends-to-lovers tropes. Overall, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. ☆☆☆☆
We are back in Nashville, this time following Tucker and Taylor directly after Waiting for Sunshine ends (I’ve been anxiously awaiting their story and suggest you read Waiting for Sunshine first). They have always had a fun banter but it’s been clear Tucker wants more and he’s willing to be patient, even to the point of being kinda nice to Taylor’s date to a wedding.
When the friend group takes a trip to California, Tucker invited Taylor to road trip back with him. What Taylor didn’t know is that this meant camping, hiking, sleeping in the back of the bronco in a sleeping bag and starting to fall for her friend.
The way Tucker and Taylor love each other was just perfect. Taylor felt like she was hard to love and had to take care of everyone else but Tucker showed her that she could let someone take care of her for once. Tucker needed someone to understand what he’s been through and be a calming presence for him and his lil firecracker, Taylor was able to do that for him.
🖤Please check your trigger warnings. Your mental health is important🖤
On this note, I am in awe of Sarah’s ability to represent life after serving in such a raw and realistic way. Parts of this book broke my heart but I also understand these are real situations people go through and I hate that they have to but am grateful for their service.
I could not wait for this book! I originally found Sarah on tik tok when she was writing her first book waiting for sunshine. I was lucky enough to get an arc of that book and I was blown absolutely blown away at how good it was for being her debut book. I have been anxiously awaiting this second book in the series after meeting Tucker and Taylor in the waiting for sunshine. This book can be read as a standalone, but I do suggest reading waiting for sunshine first.
This is a friends to lovers road trip book that you will not be able to put down! He falls first is one of my favorite tropes and Tucker definitely fell first and fell hard. He makes his intentions with Taylor very clear from the beginning and is so patient with waiting until she is ready. And his dirty talking mouth was worth the wait!!!!
Sarah did a really great job with writing about depression and grief and how hard they can be to overcome. Anyone who deals with any type of mental illness knows it is not just an easy fix but having people around who understand and support you through it makes all the difference in the world. The found family in this series is by far one of the best I have ever read. I cannot wait to see what Sarah has next in store for this series!!
I loved this book so much that I didn't want it to end and wanted to keep reading about Tucker and Taylor. These two were just absolutely perfect for each other, and the way you wrote their story was beautiful.
Taylor has been a favorite of mine since being introduced to her in the first book of the series. She is such a strong and loyal MFC. She is such a amazing friend and I loved that in this book we got to see her be vulnerable and heal her heart from things that had hurt her in the past, and to have Tucker be the person to do that absolutely made my day!!
Tucker was definitely a favorite for me as well, and I instantly fell hard for his character in the first book and was so excited to read about him. He is such a perfect mix of protective, cinnamon roll, dirty talking MMC with a great playful sense of humor. He has been through so much in his past and has had to suffer through the loss of people he was close to but was able work through it and live his life and be present for his family and friends and I just felt for his character so much throughout this book.
This book covers so many emotional topics, and Sarah Pirtle wrote them so well. I definitely felt all the emotions while reading this and loved how Taylor and Tucker helped heal and support one another.
I absolutely loved Taylor and Tucker, I loved this book, and I love this series! Once again, Sarah, you have written something amazing!!!
Waiting for Healing by Sarah Pirtle. 🤍 I didn’t think it was possible for me to love any characters more than Shane and Max from Waiting for Sunshine, but Sarah made it happen! Freaking incredible book. 🥹
rating: 5/5★ every bit of this was perfect!
The sweetest friends to lovers story. I wish I could reread it! Taylor and Tucker were literally made for each other. It’s a slow burn with a sweet little scenic road trip. Tucker falls first and falls HARD — she isn’t far behind him! Lotsa one bed + forced proximity happens and it contains the B E S T spice 🔥😍 there was also the cutest motel that I’ll never forget 🐝
This book felt so real. There were conflicts with characters [ mostly internally ] that people actual go through and it made me love and appreciate this story so much more! It had my heart hurting for the pain Tucker experienced, but literally healed me the second that Taylor helped him. One of my most favorite things about their relationship is that they COMMUNICATE 👏🏻 the most perfect pair with literally no relationship issues — can we get an amen?!
This is a must read. Add it to your TBR immediately! Check trigger warnings before diving in 🫶🏼
Sarah is building a world we didn't know we needed to be a part of until we are! I love her writing! 3.5/5 stars
It had been a while since I read WFS, so Waiting for Healing was a reintroduction to the group and quite quickly jogged my memory to where I was and who I was with!
Tucker and Taylor's story was a blissful and exciting one, to put it best. This book made me feel so many things, good things! Tuckers patiences and gentlemanliness was refreshing and how quickly he would protect Taylor had me in awe, I mean the guy broke someone's hand after all!
This novel focuses on the friends to lovers trope and treads on the subject of how awkward it can be very well, what I loved most is that instead of going down the road of it being difficult, Sarah actually portrayed the complete opposite. If anything it encourages people to follow their heart even if you're scared of everything that could happen.
If there is one thing this book done, it was get me amped for Tank and Ruby's story! Waiting for Redemption, released 24/03/2024, already on the top of my kindle TBR list!
Have a look at my favourite quotes from Waiting for Healing on my instagram @mykindlespiritxo
Taylor and Tuckers story is so beautiful and Sarah absolutely killed it! I didn’t think I could love another couple like I did with Max and Shane but man Taylor and Tucker are top tier with the back and forth banter, the spicy scenes and their love🥹 Max and Shane will always have a special place in my heart and I love the ways they are included in WFH. I knew from reading WFS that I would LOVE Taylor and Tucker as main characters and I was not disappointed! Y’all get ready for Tucker and the spice, literally swooning and Taylor with the sass🔥 The road trip was the cutest and I think it really made their relationship stronger. The girls nights are a continued favorite of mine. I love the chats Taylor has with her mom, mom goals lol. I could continue to list everything I love about this book but it would be me summarizing the whole book and spoiling it for you, I’m that obsessed! The waterfall scene, the back and forth banter, the freakin spice, Tuckers protectiveness and the inclusion of Max and Shane’s wedding🥹 100/10 recommend🤩
The Nashville nights series is an interconnected series and is recommended to read the books in order. Congratulations on the release of book 2 in the Nashville Nights series! I am so beyond proud of you Sarah and extremely thankful for the friendship we have now🥹
“But Tucker doesn’t disrupt my peace. He is my peace.”
There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this book. It hits all the feels and has the spice🔥 Sarah truly does it again with book two in her Nashville nights series and it does not disappoint.
Tucker is what all book boyfriend should be, and Taylor is easily one of the most relatable FMC I’ve ever read about. I just adore their connection and relationship with each other.
I highly recommend reading Waiting for a Sunshine first as there are some wonderful crossover events throughout this book. It’s done so well and I swear I will never get tired of Shane and Max, because Sarah does such an amazing job of story telling that it doesn’t matter how often you hear of a character they never feel overdone and always keep your attention.
I thought I couldn’t be any more excited for this book after reading book one, however now I feel it will be even harder to wait for book three because Tank already has a hold on part of my heart and I hope to see more of him soon.
**Disclaimer. I was given this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion**
Oh. My. Gosh. This book was everything I wanted and more. Sarah Pirtle has become one of my all time favorite authors just with her first book and now with this one I love her even more. Her ability to write about loss, grief, depression and ptsd is some of the best I've ever found (I can't wait for Tank's story to unfold more and I think Sarah will do such an amazing job of writing it). Her characters are real and relatable and the struggles they go through are something I can relate to. This is what makes her such an amazing author. I love that we still get nuggets of Max and Shane in this book instead of them being forgotten about like a lot of similar series where each couple gets a book. Taylor and Tucker are amazing. Their friendship and relationship is raw and full of emotion. The nicknames and the banter is absolute perfection. This book is for all the girls who have been told they're "too intense" and "too much to handle". This series does found family in the best way I've ever read and has made me fall even more in love with these characters. I love that we really get to know Taylor and Tucker more but that we also get more from the other characters and it makes waiting for their stories that much harder. The mouth on Tucker in this book 🥵 and Taylor is so sassy but also so sweet and vulnerable. As someone who feels the need to stay strong for others and cover things up with sarcasm I related to Taylor a lot. But I love that in this book we get to see her open up more and be vulnerable. I also loved that the spice level was kicked up a notch from the first book. And the best part of all... no third act break up 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the the series.
Tropes: 🍸He falls first 🍸Slight forced proximity 🍸Slow burn 🍸Steamy 🍸Touch on military PTSD & Depression 🍸Friends to Lovers 🍸Touch her/hurt her and I'll make you regret all your life choices
I’ve anticipated reading this book since I finished book one, Waiting for Sunshine, and let me tell you—I was NOT disappointed! I loved every moment of this book, and I am so impressed with Sarah’s storytelling abilities. She has an incredible talent for creating relatable characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
I personally fell in love with Tucker Landry after his debut in book one and let me tell you—he is a new favorite book boyfriend. A dirty-talking, six-foot-five, redheaded ex-Navy SEAL? Say less!!
Taylor is one of the most relatable female leads I’ve ever read. She’s a sweet and vulnerable woman who hides her insecurities behind sarcasm and smiles.
I loved watching these two connect and open up to each other. Seeing Tucker heal Taylor’s heart and watching her fall for him was just ugghhh 😍😍😍
10/10 would recommend reading this deliciously spicy, heartfelt series 🖤

OMGGGGGG!! 😱 I freaking LOVED this book!!! 🫶🏻 Taylor and Tucker - mostly Tucker - are just my absolute favorite!! 😍
I knew from book one of Nashville Nights that Tucker was going to be my newest obsession. And was I wrong? Absolutely the fuck not!! ❤️ The amount of “good girl” that came out of this man’s mouth. 🥵 We love to see it. And the serenade in the mountains next to a lake? I was a puddle. 😭😭
Also… THERE WAS NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP!!! Praise the Lord, hallelujah!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I was waiting for it, and it NEVER happened. And that… That was just beautiful. 🥹 This book will easily make it into my favorite’s of the year.
So I started this series randomly when it was suggested by Amazon. I loved the first book with Max and Shane but THIS book was amazing. I absolutely loved Tucker and Taylor.
Tucker is a prior Navy seal, owns his own architect business and loves road trips. Taylor is a nurse. We meet her in the first book with her group of girlfriends. She is sassy and smart but not easily trusting with men.
I’ll tell you when Tucker and Taylor go on their road trip together it is everything! Tucker is the book boyfriend! He didn’t expect Taylor to actually say yes to the road trip. When they start out on the trip he is able to help her overcome some of her fears. When Tucker and Taylor open up to giving their relationship a try it is so amazing to see the communication between these two and to see them grow. Of course they hit some ups and downs but these two are able to communicate their feelings and what they are thinking. Tucker has a lot of trauma from his military background and Taylor has a trauma from an ex of her past. I laughed, smiled and swooned over this book. But I won’t lie there is a part in this book that will absolutely break you and make you cry (I did for a good 30min). I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a military romance with Hea. Be sure to read the warnings with this book before reading though.
I will add as a military spouse Sarah did an absolutely amazing job showing the emotions these men have when they get out of the military and how they are able to hide some of their trauma from others.
Note: if you don’t like 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, this is not the book for you.
So, I’ve followed this author since before her first book. I’m invested in her journey.
I normally lean toward fantasy, romantasy type books, but I do love me a good contemporary romance.
This book has incredibly lovable, flawed characters and I love being able to follow different parts of their little found family with each book.
Taylor and Tuck’s story was no different. It had some of my favorite tropes: found family, forced proximity, one bed, friends to lovers, touch her and ☠️. It also dealt with past trauma and healing old wounds. It does deal with suicide as well (not a main character for this one) but I think it was beautifully done.
And as usual, Sarah gives us a delicious, happy ending. I’m not gonna lie… I can’t wait for the next one.
This book had me, blushing, kicking my feet, putting this book OVER MY FACE, CALLING MY HUSBAND TELLING HIM TO CALL ME DARLING! This series 💫6/5.
I love how Tucker & Tay isn't afraid to say how they feel. I love how open and valuable, and how they want what's best for each other. I love seeing Taylor take the leap of faith and try again.
What I enjoyed the most is that the friendship with everyone specially Max and Shane you still got to see a glimpse of their stories containing.
Her friendship with the girls is still the same ( which I love) they always supportive and being girls ( screw Zander)
His friendship with Max and and Tank has grown. However seeing the distance between Tucker and Tank was hard ( I got attached) but I love how this was setting up for Tank stories. Hoping to see their relationship get better
The spicy was giving SPICY!!!!

Waiting for Healing is book two in Sarah’s Nashville Nights series and it’s so good! Tucker - this man - he falls first and he falls hard! He is so into Taylor and is patiently waiting for her to see what they could have.
This is such a swoony friends to lovers romance. They have the chemistry. They have fun flirting and great banter. And there is a ton of heart in this story that you can’t help but fall in love with these characters.
I loved being back with this group of friends! They are so fun to read and I can’t wait to get all their love stories. If you love these tropes, you should definitely read this one.
