There's a lot of good material to draw from in seeking to become a better worshiper and worship leader. Noland's writing style is a little bland, and much of the material is cobbled together bits of Scripture, which supports the book's purpose but makes reading it a bit of a chore. Not a superbly written book, but a useful one nonetheless.

To be an effective worship leader, one must spend time privately worshiping God, so says this author. I totally agree. To assist in this worship, we must consider who God is, such as Creator, Savior, and Healer. And we should consider His characteristics, such as He is kind, He is forgiving, and He is compassionate. Then consider who are we in relation to who God is and what is God asking us to do. For example, God is faithful, and I am sustained by His faithfulness; therefore, I should be trustworthy and reliable to others. This is an inspiring book for anyone, whether one is a leader in a church or not.

Strong refreshing teaching / study on the inner and outer life of the worshipping Christian artist. Also for the layman, Noland pulls no punches and shares very revealing and enlightening information that will help artists who minister in the church grow and prosper in the walk. Highly recommended.
