January 29, 20261st Read Through (March 2025): I was mentally prepared for the first draft to not make any sense whatsoever, but was pleasantly surprised to find it's a solid story that I didn't want to put down. :D There are some rough spots for sure, but I'm very happy with how this turned out!
2nd Read Through, 1st Round of Edits (June - August 2025): I forgot to update here after I finished it, but I was as brutal as possible on the manuscript during this round. It took from July 19th to August 23rd to implement all the changes, but it was worth it. I also added a scene to add clarity for the B-story and the character involved with that.
3rd Read Through, 2nd Round of Edits (September - October 2025): Over the past month, I've sat down for editing sessions where I've had Word read the manuscript to me and I edited along the way. I'll never not sob through the last 3 chapters. Don't worry though, it's a happy ending! It just takes a lot to get there. :)
4th Read Through, 3rd Round of Edits (January 2026): Oh, boy. Happy tears again! *sobs*
I read this draft on my Kindle and have made notes on changes to implement into the Word document soon. Nothing major is changing, which is a plus! After I implement these edits, I plan to do my infamous Word Search Edit where I cut out crutch words and adverbs.
Oh, and I've chosen a possible publishing date of September 28, 2026, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates! :)
