Owen has been his cousin's protector since they were children, but now that the other man is mated, he doesn't know what to do.
Owen has spent most of his life as a safe space and confidant for his cousin, Ryan. However, Ryan's recent mating has left Owen adrift, unsure of his place in the world.
As if that wasn't enough, four new upstairs roommates means that Owen also has to figure out how he fits into the new household dynamic—a task made more difficult by the fact that they're all incredibly handsome men.
He knows the best plan is to do what he's always stick to his basement room and don't impose himself on the upstairs roommates. So why why do they keep trying to include him?
Is there really a place for him, or is it just wishful thinking? Roommates' Alpha is a 35k word, non-shifter, MMMMM, mpreg, omegaverse romance
Alpha Owen has been watching out for his couisan, Omega Ryan, and shown him support when he was feeling down, but Ryan's recent mating has left him feeling alone and lost as to where to go on his own from here. When Owen's old roommates move out and 4 new ones move in he makes some new friends, but soon starts to feel left out again when they start pairing up. He wonders when his turn will come to find his mate.
I adored Owen. He was the 'big brother' type everyone goes to find support and whose lap is desired for snuggles and cuddling. I really liked the 4 other roommates as well, especially Xavier and Micah. Though I wish Crow and Terry had more page time. Each roommate had a different personality and a different back story. They all come together seamlessly.
I'm normally not into books with more than two persons in a relationship because usually there's one person who doesn't fit in with the rest and is left feeling on the outside, but other than the author purposely putting Owen on the outskirts it was by his own choice and not done with awkward writing.
I loved the book and loved the characters. It's definitely in my reread pile.
Roommates’ Alpha is the fourth book in the ‘Gimme MMMMMore’ series. The story is told in first person through Owen, an Alpha’s, pov. However, there are three other Alpha’s and one omega that are also involved in the story.
I have to confess it took me a long time to finish this book. I’ve read the other ones in the series and all of them have quite a few characters in them. By the time I got to this story, there are at least twelve other characters from the first three books to remember, plus the four in this one, plus the plot began to sound like all the rest, just with a change in characters. The chapters were arranged by month with large time jumps in between. Also, each of the chapters would introduce one of the other characters who would interact with Owen. By the time I reached chapter six, I was so bored and overwhelmed by all the previous characters, I put the book aside for over six months. I wasn’t sure I was going to finish the book but decided to finish it off this past weekend. I’d forgotten most of the story so I backtracked a chapter and re-read it, which helped me remember enough to continue reading. The planning and plot are much the same as the other books in the series. There isn’t much conflict.
Owen is the cuddly cousin of Ryan, who appeared in Book Three. This centers on Owen believing the three other Alphas and omega aren’t interested in him even though they’ve been dropping big clues that they are. As mentioned, the chapters deal with each character interacting with Owen as he gets to know them, also some interaction with each other as a group, plus the birth of the babies. Owen isn’t like other Alphas. He easy-going, laid back and insecure about how he isn’t as built like most Alphas.
The story is told through Owen’s monologue, which is a lot. There is dialogue with the other characters, but Owen does a lot of explaining about what he’s feeling and thinking, plus what is happening around him. That’s probably what made it difficult to relate with any of the characters because the telling wasn’t interesting.
Roommate’s Alpha doesn’t have any conflict. Owen the main character, is low-key and tells the story through lots of monologue. This is an okay story but not one I’d re-read again. If you’re looking for a superfast read where you don’t have to do any thinking, you might like this. I give it a low 3 Stars just because I finished it.
This one was sweet but not my favorite in the series.
I'm glad to see Owen get his story, but I wish there story and plot was a bit more fleshed out? There was just so many time jumps, and also things went from Owen having no clue and not associating with his upstairs roommates, to them all getting together, and then the book ends.
I do like that this one followed one of the alphas this time. I'd love more time with them all together!
I'm assuming this is the final book in this series. I'd definitely check out more books from this author!
Owen was in a previous book as a protector of Ryan, an omega cousin. When Ryan mated and gave birth (this is an omergaverse story ) Owen felt unnecessary and lonely. Things began to look up when he got a houseful of four roommates but it took awhile before Owen could actually believe that he could be wanted and loved. A charming, spicy, well written story with a HEA.
I liked this book better than the previous ones because we can see to a certain point how 4 alphas/ 1 omega started out as roommates, then friends, then more. My big pet peeve was that Owen was jealous for something that could’ve been easily resolved by talking (the other men being more open/ upfront/ direct with Owen).
Yay for Owen! He was such a sweetheart in the series, and my heart broke for him as he tried to adjust to Ryan finding his mates and family. Even though they were cousins, the two of them were each other's support, and Owen struggled for a bit. I'm glad it was short lived as he found happiness with his roommates. This was a bit longer than the others, and I think it made this one more enjoyable. I'm glad I kept reading this series.
II was a little down when Owen departed from Ryan in the previous story. I glad that he found his men. I think that him and Crow are a little closer, maybe because of the conversation that they had in the beginning. I'm glad that Owen found his place and his men.
I wish you could see the big smile on my face after reading Roommates. I have enjoyed this series so much I have a preference for MMM books and reading five men loving on each other is great!! Lacey Diaze has this trope perfectly written. I hope there’s more books of this type coming soon.
Reading this was a bit like being a neighbor leaning over the fence watching the many occupants of the house next door as life unfolds both good and bad. Owen is such an adorable Alpha, so caring and kind but, flipping heck, it's takes forever for him to get a clue, but the others are patient. A sweet, touching tale and a lovely journey through the lives of five gorgeous men.
Pretty good but not my favorite. I liked that this point of view was from an alpha perspective, but I didn’t like the jealousy angle which always puts me off reading poly relationship books. Luckily it doesn’t last long but it soured the rest of the book for me.
I really enjoyed this one. I think I’ve read every Lacey Daize MM book. They’re like pringles. Once you pop, you just can’t stop. Great lazy afternoon snuggle reads. Low angst and always a happy ending.
I have loved every book in this series. But I will say this is my favorite. I loved that this one is from an alpha’s point of view. They are all such good reads.

This was absolutely adorable. I truly wish this was longer. I loved it. I loved all of the characters. I just wish I would’ve gotten to see some of them more.
