In the sweltering summer heat of the Louisiana delta, internationally famous stage-magician turned FBI consultant, Sophie Quinn, is closing in on the man who murdered her sister. The River Killer. But just when Sophie thinks she’s ahead, a new player appears to make her wonder if all the progress in her investigation hasn’t been part of someone else’s game.
Messages and clues embedded in the crime scenes of a new string of killings make Sophie question her own sanity and wonder if the ghosts of her past are much, much closer than she’d feared.
As Sophie’s world unravels, threatening to tear the people closest to her away forever, she must decide just how much blood she’s willing to have on her hands for her revenge, and whether she can ever really come home again.
Having worked on projects with New York Times Bestsellers and USA Today bestsellers, Georgia Wagner recently hit #1 bestseller with her newest series. Location and character are two big factors for Georgia, and getting those right allows the story to flow seamlessly onto the page. And flow it does, because Georgia is so prolific a new term is required to describe the rate at which nerve-tingling stories find their way into print.
When not found attached to a laptop, Georgia likes spending time in local arboretums, among the trees and ponds. An avid cultivator of orchids, begonias, and all things floral, Georgia also has a strong penchant for art, paintings, and sculptures. A many-decades-long passion for mystery novels and years of chess tournament experience makes Georgia the perfect person to pen the Artemis Blythe series. That's where it all started, but the drive to craft thrilling mystery tales soon demanded new characters in new locations.
Sophie Quinn is closing in on RK ( the river killer ) the beast who killed her sister and almost her too. Merchant has gone to ground her and Greer are following cryptic clues , is the Agent aiding their investigation ? This new foe is killing women who look like Sophie even going to the extent of copying the familiar scenes from her past …this has just gotten personal . The most dangerous and raw set of placed events yet …what would her mentalist mentor do? Second guessing her very sanity . This packs a punch . Suspenseful , chilling read that is uber immersive, compelling read. I read an advance copy of this book and my review is left voluntarily in my own words
I swear this series has me in a chokehold. I absolutely adore Sophie and Jonathan and the way Georgia writes them is perfection. I have chewed through all four books and now I'm so sad I have to wait on book five, though I know it will be amazing.
*SPOILER*
I loudly squealed in excitement and nearly jumped up from the couch when those two finally kissed! They are just so cute!

The River Killer is murdering women who look like Sophie and replicating past murder scenes. The stress is getting to her as she pushes away those who love her most. A tense thriller with a shocking ending. Highly Recommended.
I’ve read EVERY boot in this series in less than two weeks - I LOVE IT. Love love love love love it. I’ve lived in New Orleans and I adore the culture, the landscape, the food, people, etc. The spirit of Souther Louisiana is captured so well in this series and I am thankful that we got more of a glimpse at the River Killer in this book. Big twist I wasn’t expecting, but I’m counting down the days to March 29th for the next book. W
