I'm Ashley Kay! Best Selling Contemporary Romance Author.
I currently live in SW with my little girl and growly husband.
I've got a thing for wine labels, desserts, and all things sparkly. Can't forget the pens though, office supplies make me giddy.
When I'm not chasing my little around you can usually find me sipping coffee with headphones writing or with my nose buried in a book.
We are very family oriented. You can most likely catch me at a hockey game or chilling with family around the grill with a cold beer.
Don't get me wrong I love a good girls weekend or better yet a weekend alone with my hunky husband.
Fantastic hubby aside at my core I'm a dreamer and a creator. My favorite part of the day beside my family is sitting down to dive into the world I've created. I can't wait to share it with you!
Once again Ashley has written a book that makes me so happy inside. Constant giggles from page one and the chemistry was thick in the air from the moment they fell into bed together *accidentally* - I’m melting 🫠
Compelling story kept the pages turning and me up reading way passed acceptable time instead of sleep.
And OMG the characters in Hadley Falls are delicious, I love them and want to stay with them! They are funny, witty and relatable!
The story had melty moments as well as dramatic mums and family.
Moments that shocked my heart to stop beating. Then healing, and dealing with trauma was done with such care.
I love the relationships and friendships in this series!
Thank you for sharing these stories to the world 🤍

The story of Jackson and Lily is a sweet second chance romance. These two were each others high school crush but have some major issues to sort through before they can find their happily ever after with each other.
Through the drama with two insanely possessive exs trying to ruin their relationship at every turn, Jackson and Lily are forced to decide if the way they feel about each other is enough.
This story held my attention and I couldn’t wait to see how it all played out!
Overall rate :🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 Spice :🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3.5/5 *SPOILERS DONT READ IF YOU’D RATHER READ THE BOOK FIRST!* If you like: Protective MMC Past abusive relationship Found family Reconciliation between family Second chance romance Miscommunication trope Surprise Pregnancy ending (HEA) Occurring deaths
The story of Lily and Jackson hit a bit close to home. As a survivor of abuse from past relationships I can relate to Lily on some grounds. This book has a happy ending indeed, but I feel there’s a cliffhanger, an opportunity for it to continue, which is very exciting! Jackson gives such comfort character vibes. He’s a big softy to Lily but a rugged, stern ass to anyone who negatively impacts Lily’s life. He dotes on her to the point while reading I would have butterflies in my stomach🤭. He isn’t the ultimate hero, he doesn’t fix everything, which is great, because you’ll see how Lilys character develops throughout the book. Lily becomes strong willed on her own and fights her demons due to Isaacs doing, and her mother detesting her at everything she has done while Lily tries to set boundaries with her mother.
Isaac was surely the villain in the story, and I despise how her family didn’t believe her at all until things got to the point of almost murder. Even though her mother asks for forgiveness, she still sets a boundary there where they need to go to therapy together to work on their relationship. Lilys step father gave me major daddy issues💔, Dean is very understanding and is trying to be “team Sweden”, and believes Lilys claim of being abused by Isaac from the start. He was a father more than her own biological father, and didn’t feel the need to deserve her love if she didn’t give it to him in the end. It seems they have a bond to work with, to become closer as father and daughter which I liked!
Her friends were such a strong support system, that made my heart so warm🥹. No matter the high and lows Lily went through they were there for her! Of course I wanted to read it because of the *smut*🫠 Once Jackson started flirting with Lily, the fire between them were full throttle🔥. They literally get it on every chance they get 😂. Theres lots of “vocal play “ which made me want to read more and more to get to the high peak of it all. You can tell the chemistry hit them once they met eyes on each other for the first time in years, Lily establishing she was a single Pringle, and confirmed they both had feelings for each other all along.
I honestly can’t stand Lily’s mother and younger sister being so naive about how Lily was being treated by Isaac. They seemed very distant towards Lily, but wouldn’t stop meddling in her life.
The concept of having Lily see a therapist and going to therapy was comforting to see. She had major ptsd that affected her daily life, including pursuing her dream job and committing to her newfound relationship with Jackson.
Now personally, I could have done without the “Surprise! She’s pregnant!” ending, only because I feel like how Jackson is portrayed in this particular book that he hasn’t hinted of wanting to start a family (but oh is there a breeding kink 🤪). Not that there’s anything wrong with having a pregnancy surprise, it’s just me🤷🏻♀️. It is in the end, a happy ending.
Overall, if you love what I’ve listed on “If You Like” , this is a must read!

I read book 1 of this series a while ago and just couldn't wait to get my teeth into this one.
The story of Jackson and Lilys relationship was so amazing. Lily is dealing with alot of trauma and clearly struggles to open up, and Jackson wants to give her healing space, but at the same time, they are both thinking the same thing..... They want/need each other. They've known and liked each other since high school, but both were too chicken to say anything. Now their time has come and are at risk of ruining everything.
Dean..... I absolutely love that man. Everyone needs a Dean in their life.
There are some characters in this book that got my blood boiling, the obvious one being Isaac, but the sister, and isaacs brother are petulant children and need a good shake!
