I really enjoyed the first and third stories in this set. Both of those would have earned 5 stars. The middle story about Zeb and Kayla was missing too many details and had a few serious flaws. I wasn’t given enough backstory on either character to particularly care about them. There was an intense bit about Zeb that wasn’t really fleshed out and nothing about Kayla. I don’t even know if she had any living family.. Minor spoiler - one character gets shot, has a collapsed lung, and in less than a week there’s a scene written about his washboard abs and amazing body. No mention of stitches, bruises or bandages. That story just kind of ended still missing resolution to major plot points. I sincerely hope that all gets addressed in the next book, but I’m still annoyed. Perhaps Chase’s story should have come before Zeb’s. There’s a missing person from Zeb’s story who clearly is not missing yet in Chase’s.
