The seat-gripping conclusion to the battle against the Mages' Guild!
One thing has become perfectly clear: The Mages’ Guild won’t stop coming for me until I am either under their control, or dead.
So rather than wait to be cornered…I’m going to take the fight to them.
But Emery and I can’t do it alone.
We have to assemble enough power in the magical world to rip the Guild off of their high horse. And to do that, we’ll need the shifters as well as the vampires.
Except, shifters and vampires would rather kill each other than work together. And after a surprise run-in with a strangely powerful goblin, my world is slapped sideways.
If I can’t learn the strange new power I totally-didn’t-steal-because-it-wasn’t-my-fault, and can’t get arch nemeses to work together for the common good, the Guild will finally have their prize. Me.

These DDVN Graphic Audio Audiobooks are unbelievable. The voice actors are so incredibly on-point it's making this one hell of an experience. I'm utterly consumed by fits of giggles while listening to these books. Bravo!
This was a really good end to Penny's story arc. I have found that I like her less when her mother is around because she reverts back to the young "oh, I have to hide everything I do from my mother" mindset she had in the first book.It was fun getting a glimpse of some of the characters from the first trilogy in this series again as well. Can't wait to start the next duology with a new character.
3.5 stars Well, this was somewhat better. Here, we see Penny ease out from under her mother's thumb and stand a little more on her own. She still curses like a little kid trying to not piss off her mom, but whatever. The story moves through to its conclusion, but it leaves the door open for the next trilogy. The fight scenes were interesting, and I liked how everybody worked together. All in all, it leaves me wanting to continue the series.
I really love these graphic audios, they are my favorite so far. But this book was just boring. The acting is great, it's the story that was lacking. Penny just didn't have any character growth, which is sad because I think she had a lot of potential. She is still childish and let's her mom control everything. She won't even agree to marry Emery because *gasp* her mother won't be happy it happened so fast 🙄The final battle was a let down, and I'm sorry how many times does she need to answer her phone in the middle of battle? Really takes away from the fighting to be checking her texts.
I loved Emery and Reagan though, they are the only saving grace of this story.

Basic Plot: Penny and Wmery finalize their dual-mage bond and fight to take down the corrupt mage guild once and for all.
There was a lot of action and not a lot else in this book. It made for a very fast pace, with very little time for the characters to rest and recharge. Even with all the action, I don't know that I ever really felt any main characters were truly in danger, though. Stakes were high, but the characters meet every threat so competently that I never worried, just rode the wave of action. Fun.
I’m excited to see the new female character in book #7.
Things I liked: 1. Breene continues to write fantastic fight scenes 2. Ohhh more shifters 3. Reagan is now funny and not annoying with her banter 4. I’m so glad we are switching the nickname to Fast Fingers
Things I didn’t like: 1. 2. Turdswallop is now getting more page time 3. This book felt very similar to book #5.
