Rate this book
With Charity's fate on the line, Devon and his pack must face the perils of the Realm in search of the elusive warrior fae. With no real experience and against some of the most powerful creatures in existence, they are fighting a losing battle.

Thankfully, they don't have to do it alone.

Knowing what's at stake, Penny and Emery, the magical powerhouses of the mage world, will lend their aid. Even though Emery is outlawed from stepping foot in the Realm, the pair will try to sneak Charity in the backdoor.

If they are caught, they'll all be captured or worse. Much worse.

But to make it means Devon will be forced to make a difficult decision that will change his and Charity's life forever.

Another romantic pairing that ends with "i must leave because it's what's best for her"
🙄
It would have been better without the romance
It was interesting to see another version of fae
The side characters were better than the main MMC and FMC

Full of colorful characters that are easy to love and exciting plot points, Book 8 is more like the DDVN series, but I still find Charity & Devon's love story to be more forced (and less satisfying) than the other love stories in the series.

Yes! Charity is definitely my favorite of the FMCs in this series.
But...Surprisingly, my favorite character overall is Steve. Maybe it's because he's a character closer to my age, but I loved every scene he was in. I want my own Steve.

As for the story itself, I loved how Devon went above and beyond so that Charity could become who she was meant to be.
I'm really enjoying this series and am looking forward to what comes next.

Basic plot: With Charity's magic going haywire, Devon and his pack have to get her to her people to save her life and help her find her place.

It took me a hot minute to get into this because I've read/listened to so much in between reading this book and the previous one. Once I remembered who everyone was, it was smooth sailing, but because there was only 1 other book with Charity, it was a bit rough for a bit.

I liked this one for how the situation developed once Charity finally got to her people. A group of guardians cut off from doing any actual guarding- how do they deal? Not well, it turns out. Like trying to take away fidgets from a middle schooler with ADHD. There was also a lot to appreciate in how various prophecies came true (never how one expects).

Meh. Reagan was really the only redeeming part of this book.
