Half-angel Trinity and her bonded gargoyle protector, Zayne, have been working with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming…but who or what is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as sinister forces gather.
As tensions rise, they must stay close together and patrol the DC streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. But as deaths pile up and they uncover a plot endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.

This book is amazing! (The first book in the series was so good too). I loved the development of Zayne and Trinity’s relationship and the storyline kept me riveted. Could not stop listening. The ending though. Whew. All the feels. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
I really did try but the FMC was driving me nuts. Demanding answers to questions and then when she’s not liking the answer she cuts the other person off and it’s suddenly ‘I don’t want to talk about this’ another time Peanut trying to urgently wake her up but she just opens her big mouth and just yells over the top and won’t let him speak. She’s just frustratingly immature and gets butt hurt easily. I can’t make myself finish it (even though the base storyline was interesting)if I have to listen to her unfortunately.
Book two moves the story of good and evil and the search for the Harbinger forward to a spine-tingling, hair-raising battle between demons and angels.
Trinity, a true-born (half-angel) 18 year-old and her bonded protector - gargoyle shifting Warden, Zayne team up with Roth, the Demon Prince, to fight demons, ghosts, witches, and other creepy things. As they battle to keep the world and humans safe, they must also fight evil and death.
In terrifying scenes, they learn the identity of the Harbinger and the destruction he promises to rain down on earth and all its creatures, humans included.
The ending is heavily laced with descriptions of the apocalypse and the darker sides of the religion.
The full cast performance by the talented voice actors at Graphic Audio http://www.graphicaudio.net makes the creepy parts more intense and the mushy love scenes between Trinity and Zayne very smooth and smoochy. And let's not forget the accompanying music and sound effects.
JLA is making me not want to read any more of her books. FMC is annoying AF. WHY does she write in immature daft cows as FMC? At this point I like Ivy from the Wicked Trilogy more than Trinity - and that says a lot! Spoiler alert ⬇️
I’m gonna have to go with Trinity on this, I can’t even believe I’m saying those words, but her questioning Zayne is completely valid. And what I mean by that is questioning as to whether he is protecting her because of love or duty as her protector. The way she compares what happened with Layla and now her? it’s the daft cow Trinity that actually made complete sense. If you kill her off, I won’t be sad. As a sidenote, I don’t understand what people are talking about with this big reveal and cliffhanger at the end with who the Harbinger is… Is this another series I missed because there was no oh my God it’s him gasping for me.
And because I can’t not complete a series I’m slightly invested in here I go into the third and final book. 🥴
Basic Plot: Trinity and Zayne hunt for the Harbinger, trying to prevent his plot.
Hrm. Well. Lots of angst, and it got me. By the end, though, I had been over-angsted and saw the "twist" coming. I did not see the very last twist coming, but I feel like I should have. The book still has a very YA feel to it, but just enough spice that I don't feel entirely comfortable adding the YA label to it.
I dunno. The pacing felt off, and the miscommunication trope made me crazy. But it did get me emotionally a few times. I'm still annoyed by angels and demons in general. I'm going to finish the trilogy, but honestly I'm kind of cranky about that.
I just finished listening to all three books on graphic audio. I really enjoyed the story not sure if it would be different physically reading it but the graphic audio was really fun. This is an upper YA book or a young adult book, does have a good amount of spice in it but it’s not descriptive. I think my biggest complaint is the language form the FMC is a little immature for my liking but the banter between the FMC and MMC is spot on. This is a body guard trope with forced proximity.
This one definitely shifted the romance to be the main plot and it made a lot of this feel kind of one note. The romantic tension felt very immature, which makes sense for the characters, but it made it boring. The world is so interesting and I feel like having it take a backseat to the romance just made this not a memorable story.
..Yup still hated the scenes that were rightfully hated to be (characters being character) the ice cream parlor scene still made my stomach sick from it.
This story is progressively getting more and more cheesy. The battle with the harbinger actually made me cringe. The storyline is good, but some of the writing, not so much.
You don't even know what instagram is, and you think you're gonna end the world?!
I don't think I would've enjoyed it nearly as much if I hadn't listened to is as Graphic Audio. Though, that ending did perk my interest to finish the trilogy, despite earlier decision that I wasn't intrigued enough to continue. While I do enjoy pop-cultural references it occasionally gets a little bit cringey and overused in this one. The voice-actors do a phenomenal job, I especially felt for Tirinity at parts where she was struggling with her failing vision. Roth is a total delight, I almost wish he was in every scene. Overall, it's an alright story but I definitely recommend the GA over other versions.
Idk. I read this because I enjoyed the majority of the first one. This one kind of made me... annoyed? I'm getting a little tired of the author's writing - only in the form of Trin's dialogue/inner dialogue. I was on board with this book for the most part with like a 3.5-3.75 rating until the last 20 ish percent. I hated the scene with you know who at the end. I hated Trinity's cringy quips when she fought or set herself up to be a bada** - she sounded like a 13 year old trying to fight with her imaginary friend.
I HATE winter freaking mint.
But... it was okay. It was a solid 3 stars. It wasn't bad per say. It just wasn't my favorite. I'm still picking up the third book and I'm still liking the side cast, setting and magic system. I just don't think I'm a huge fan of Trinity.
Rage and Ruin took everything I loved about Storm and Fury and cranked it up. Zayne continues to be absolutely perfect—broody, loyal, and just so swoon-worthy. The romance between him and Trinity deepens in such a natural, satisfying way, and the slow burn is still on point. The spicy scenes? Chef’s kiss. They hit all the right notes while staying true to the emotional beats of the story.
Trinity’s strength and sass shine even brighter here, and her dynamic with Zayne is perfection. Their connection feels so real, and the emotional stakes are high. I laughed, I swooned, and I might’ve cried a little.
The action and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and the twists were intense. Seriously, I was yelling at the audiobook in my car at the end! I’m obsessed with how seamlessly she blends romance and plot. This series just keeps getting better.

ahh and the story continues! In true JLA fashion the plot twist continue!
At this point we love Zane and Trin right? But of course she is insecure and gets into her head! There was a lot of this creating angst between the two. Lots of jealousy as Trinity comes to terms with the fact she is falling for Zane. These two are also getting used to being truly bonded and what that feels like.
As the whole crew gets closer to figuring out who the harbinger is, what the plan is, and all the layers that keep getting peeled back keep us drawn in to figure out what happens.
the ending of this book had me actually crying! It had an action packed last quarter of the book that did not disappoint.
can’t wait to get into the next book and how they will bring down the harbinger and deal with the brand new set of challenges.
