My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.
Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.
Which could spell death for us all.
Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally - as the bait.

Twilight who? This book was a little cringe, had many similarities to Twilight, sometimes read like it was written by an angsty teenager. And yet ... I ATE UP EVERY SINGLE WORD. This is my new Twilight, idec.
Main points: - 1st person pov - dual pov - YA romantasy - Vampires & other mystical creatures - major Twilight vibes - slow burn - fated mates - he falls first
If you were a huge Twilight nerd, no matter what team you were on, you will love this book. So just check it out besties!

" “I want him to look at me like it physically hurts him not to be touching me.”
Okay, so the second half of crave was not...bad. The plot thankfully does get a wee bit better. There is abit more action. it seemed to more better and the pace seemed faster. However, the main character still grates on my last nerve. I just...I do not remember if Bella was this...frigging irritating or not. In this part, Grace isnt so dumb regarding the red flags, she is dumb regarding her love interest. I know this is fiction and I am supposed to suspend my disbelief. But who...really believes that you fall in love with a guy you met IN ONE DAY? REgardless of any other factors. Even the bachelor doesnt require this level of insta love commitment. This is the part I dislike most about this book. I sometimes do not mind insta love...but it has to be plausible, believable...This for me, just was not. Least not until like the last bit of the book. I was extremely confused at the pov shift. I did not know whether that was intentional or an additional jaxon bonus chapter. SO I just rolled with it. I believed THAT. But for her pov...it was just super cringey.
The graphic audio did make this book more tolerable. The screams and cries and stuff were interesting to hear. I havent listened to an audio with those sound effects before. The voice for lia should get an award as well. I did enjoy the side characters, they did not feel like mere plot points.
I think I may try the second book, because I am a bit curious as to the plot. But I swear to gods if Grace doesnt get a better grip on her mental status, I am out.
Crave is definitely a modern-day reimagining of Twilight, and it doesn’t shy away from that comparison — in fact, it embraces it. With a self-loathing vampire, Jaxon, who sees himself as a danger to Grace (our Bella stand-in with her own tragic backstory), the parallels are clear from the start. But what I appreciated most was that the author openly references Twilight within the book itself, giving a nod to her inspiration rather than pretending the similarities don't exist. Kudos to Tracy Wolff for that honesty — I honestly wish more authors would do the same.
That being said, Crave manages to stand on its own. The story is full of more twists, more turns, and a much broader cast of supernatural creatures. The dynamics between characters are more layered and complex, keeping the plot from feeling too predictable. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the storyline — much more than I initially expected — I'll be moving on to book two.
So, besides vampires and wolf shifters, there are also witches and dragons (definitely curious about this).
The end of the book has me wanting to read the next, especially the chapters from Jackson’s POV because his personality was hard to pin down. The ending opened up a lot more interesting storylines and tidbits. However, Grace’s “thing”…very random.
This made me watch Twilight again for the first time in forever lol. A lot of the same vibes so if you enjoyed the Twilight series you’ll probably enjoy this. Not my most favorite though, but I enjoyed enough to try the next book too. ☺️
So so so so so bad. The narrators are great, but the dialog is so extremely cringy I got second hand embarrassment. I didnt know what to expect when going into this, but I did see it's a popular series so figured I'd give it a try. It was predictable and boring.
I just finished this and omg I love it so much! And they included the bonus chapters 🥹.
This is the second part!!
That ending? Can we just- can we just take a moment to breathe? I need to know how it goes! But the wholesomeness with the bonus chapters? Aghhh. I’m in love! I gave this book 5/5⭐️ and it’s 0 spice in this one friends even though there are kisses and tension between our lovers.
In this second part we get to continue following Grace as she battles her feelings for the handsome vampire who seems to do everything to keep her safe, meaning push her away. But is it that easy? And with Grace keeping danger close and death closer can he save her before it’s too late? Or is Grace doomed to die?
I absolutely LOVED every second of this book and I can’t tell you guys enough, the characters, the story, the development! 😩 just….if you haven’t. READ. IT!!!
Story ⭐️⭐️ GraphicAudio ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am combining parts of my review from the first part with this one. This book is a little too YA and predictable for me. Macy’s voice is a little… annoying. No offense to the voice actress. Jaxon also comes off a little too brooding even for what he is. Lia sounded way too old to be their age. I wouldn’t recommend the book to a friend, but I would recommend the GraphicAudio if someone wanted an easy and light listen. Honestly, I think I’d listen to just about any GraphicAudio. I listened to both parts while walking and partially while working. I feel bad that I’m giving the GraphicAudio adaptation 2 stars when it’s mainly the story I dislike. I think the voice actors did a pretty good job. I will likely still continue with listening to the GraphicAudio for the second book, Crush, when I need an easy listen. I’ve heard the second book is better.
Spoilers ahead! It is a major eye roll to listen to Grace fall for Jaxon so quickly. There was no real chemistry or buildup. Adding the mating trope at the end does not justify that. Overall, I am not that disappointed because I went into listening to this with low expectations. I had read other reviews before that also depicted it as very young adult, so no shock there. I didn’t feel like there was enough depth to the characters.
Literally a train wreck that I simply could not look away from. If you are as sick as me, and have an ungodly obsession with Twilight - this is literally just as terrible. I got the ick from the main characters literally every word they said, BUT I CANT STOP. I will say, this version of Bella (her name is Grace) has a bit more depth, but Edward (his name is Jackson) is literally copy paste of twilight. My jaw literally hit in the floor when only 4 days had passed since Grace met Jackson. HUNNNIII. Graces favorite color is clearly red because she RACED to those flags.
Anyways, it’s horrible. 4 stars. Will probably keep listening to the rest. Also DONT do the graphic audio. The voices are TERRIBLE. Ok thanks.
4⭐️ honestly this was so cringe. 😬 I’m not sure if I just don’t like Jaxon’s voice cause it doesn’t sound like a teenagers. I did keep going and finish it but I didn’t want to. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and hope it’s like the first ACOTAR in the series and pray the second one is better.
This book feels like 2 stories I've read before in 1 book, with some details changed. Its a good book, and I definitely want to read the rest of the series to know how it ends but it's just been done before.
Jaxon’s voice sounds like a grown man and I just cant take him seriously. The dialogue is cringey and surface level. Why the repeat chapters from Jaxon’s POV? I just didnt see the value. I dont think I will move on to the second book.
this book over all was cringe, it being a graphic audio definitely saved it a little. despite the cringe i’ll still probably listen to the whole series 💀
ok so it got a little better plot wise but there was only like half a cliff hanger at the end bc they gave us a pov from her mans who i already forget his name
I don't like the "My Mate" trope, the damsel in distress nonsense that Grace goes through at the end is someone I avoid in most books. That being said I'll continue with the series.
