cliche’ plot
Given her symptoms, it’s insulting that the author wants the reader to believe that Zuri, a grown woman didn’t consider being pregnant and that she did not immediately consider Shai as her unborn child’s father. Never thinking of the consequences of her, allowing her husband to play the role of father to her unborn child is a dangerous game to play with a man who demonstrated his ego was grander than any love it may have ever felt for her. The same can be said for Shai who is playing the role of potential father to Kendra's unborn child knowing Kendra only cares about status which is something that he has in spades. Her losing her connection to his status by association would not an option for her. Such a story line is a boring turn off and a reflection of the authors cliché choices that can only be attributed to lazy writing and minimum effort. A rich man with a name like Shai would not be hard to find especially when your best friend is still sleeping with his cousin.
Why Sevyn didn’t alert Zaakir about telling her husband she wanted a divorce knowing that he threatened her is beyond me. It gives him an enemy without his awareness so he could take precautions. just another stupid choice by the author, who characterize Sevyn as someone who is clever and able to see through game.
Kendra being revealed as the long lost sister was out when the words left her father’s mouth. Since Miami has been predictable, yet, the author seems to think that the so-called twist would surprise readers with the exception of Giorgio.
The conflicts rooted in poor communication are so senseless and should be the driving force of the storytelling. Suddenly the intellect of the characters vanishes forcing them to make moves that are uncharacteristic of them which is extremely off putting and dims my respect for the author who is willing to disrespect their craft with underwhelming storytelling tactics. I can only hope that book 2 is redeeming.

J. Dominique another unparalleled series nicely done. I love Shai. I'm all for him and Zuri to get together. Azuri and Kendra sisters? Wow I wasn't expecting that. There always snakes and Tramel is one. Seven was a good woman. I think her loyalty was second to none. Zaakir never expected to feel what he feels now. I hope Seven and Zaakir get it together and he get revenge on Tramel and she pulls through. I can't wait until part 2!

This series was so good, with just the right amount of Drama. The plot twist & cliffhanger was crazy. Two long lost sisters, both pregnant, & one baby daddy. But something tells me Kendra’s baby, is not Shai’s. This was a NTMA that did not disappoint. I look forward to finishing this series.

Drama from the beginning. Glad Zuri got her get back. I love Shai. Zaakir bout to crash out. Sevyn was warned but she wanted to be naive. I think Kendra lying across the board. Im enjoying reading the series.

This first part was so so enticing! Zuri’s husband had me all the way f#%! up!!! A whole weekend getaway with your best friend and two fine ass men after what you just caught your lying, cheating ass husband doing!? SIGN HER TF UP. Very demure! Very appropriate. Shai was giving all the green flags and so was Zaairrrr. I love have 4 person POV!!! This story ate, and the cliffhanger!? *GASP* immediately I headed straight into part 2!

slow start
This book had a veryyyyyy slow start! It took a minute to get into it but I pushed through. Almost a little pass the halfway mark I became invested. I’m not sets but it had an almost immature tone to it in the beginning. The characters seemed like early 20’s in the beginning and now they seem like they’re in their 30’s. The only issue I have is the characters lives isn’t flushed out. There’s no scenes of them going to work, talking or spending time with other friends/family members. Every scene is the same few characters so no true development of who they are outside of the setting with those people.

Fire read!
This book was everything! The plot, the drama, the characters all made for a great read!
You have Zuri, who is married to a low life man named Deshawn. Zuri is willing to do almost anything to save their failing marriage, which she does. Despite her willingness to give in to Deshawn’s selfish wants, she discovers he’s been cheating on her and realizes she’s going to get her some revenge by finding a man to hook up with.
After her one night stand with the handsome and well off Shai, she realizes she’s over Deshawn and deserves better. Shai falls for Zuri as well, being that he was also cheated on by his ex Kendra.
Things get complicated though for the two when paternity comes into play, in more ways than one!
Next we have Sevyn, Zuri’s bestie. Sevyn herself is in a marriage with Tramel. Tramel is currently incarcerated and doing a long bid. Despite not really loving Tramel, Sevyn chooses to remain his wife and loyal to him due to the fact of him risking his freedom by doing illegal things to obtain her her own beauty salon. But that soon changes when Sevyn has her own battle with her head and her heart after falling for Zaakir, Shai’s cousin. Sevyn and Zaakir both only wanted fun and no attachments but that soon changes when the two fall for one another and Zaakir is tired of playing the side piece. Sevyn decides to tell Tramel she wants a divorce, but Tramel lets it be known, she belongs to him always.
I can’t wait for part 2! I’m literally on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. How will Zuri’s father’s revelations change things between her and Shai? What will happen to Sevyn after what occurred outside her shop?
Excellent read and highly recommend to all urban romance fiction readers. 10/10 stars.

Just When You Think You Can Finally Find Some Peace.
J. Dominique, good messy mess right here. This read had me all in my feelings. First, Zuri and Sevyn were loyal in situations that cost them their peace.
Zuri thought she was doing right to save a situation she didn't break, what she thought would help ended up hurting her but I think it made her h ave a backbone she needed to begin to live her best life.
Meeting Shai took a turn that has changed her entire world. Will she finally have peace? Will Shai finally get what he deserves?
Seven was such a good woman. Her loyalty was unmatched, in my opinion. Being thought to have to do something because she felt obligated. Sevyn love may have cost her too much. Hopefully, that's not the case. Love shouldn't hurt her life. it should be hers to live as she feels. She deserves true happiness. Zaakir never thought he would feel as he has. What will happen next? Will love win or will the devil win? 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Imagine going on a trip to rekindle your marriage and you decide to give your husband a threesome to save your marriage and you find out the chick he chose that was on the cruise, is actually his mistress. WELP! Insert Zuri cause that’s what happened to her. Sis gets off the cruise when they dock in Miami and checks herself into a hotel. Ends up at the bar and sees a fine ssa man, they drinking and talking she asks him to help her feel wanted and one thing leads to another and they are knocking each other DOWN!!!!! They end up spending 3 days together. Shai is walking BFE (in the words of Sevyn) BIG FINE ENERGY and the way he carries himself and the way his money is long. Sign me tf up IMMEDIATELY please. Now Shai was in a similar predicament as Zuri the only difference is his girl played in his face with the enemy and he eliminated him. OOP! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It just so happens that Zuri’s best friend comes down to Miami and so does Shai’s cousin Zaakir. Well a time was had those 3 days in Miami you hear me! They all happened to be from Chicago and when the trip ended they thought that was it for everyone. Well, Zuri gets home and her husband is on some BS so she lets him know they are done and getting a divorce. Sevyn is still seeing Zaakir even though a she’s married to a man doing a 20 year bid. Y’all I really hope she’s leaves him because she wants out and he has her trapped. Zuri and Shai ended up running into each other and all hell has broken loose. Please know this book is everything, it draws you in and holds you in a chokehold from start to finish. I can’t believe the bomb that’s dropped at the end, cause baby if shyt was crazy before it’s definitely about to go down now. I’m praying Zaakir gets Sevyn from under Tramel’s BA and I’m hoping Sevyn is okay after what happened. Yes I’m rooting for my man and Zuri to be together too. Bout to buss book 2 open cause WHEW. Miss Dominique you wrote tf outta this book.

OMG....what a cliffhanger!
The ending of this book has me totally on edge. Im hoping and praying that Sevyn is good and I would hate to be at that restaurant with Zuri and her dad right now. There is no way that little situation will end good. I think Zaakari is going to have to step up and show Tramel exactly who he is. Deshawn already found out about Shai...lol. Im actually happy for Zuri because she deserves everything that she is getting right now. I know Kendras' face is on the floor and Ericas' probably will be too when she see how Zuri came up & she has to deal with Deshawn for who he truly is. Im definitely waiting for that. Fingers crossed for a happy ending for Zuri and Sevyn.

I love the way how zuri became strong and left her cheating husband. I am the baby belongs to shai and not her husband. I hope that her friend sevyn survived the shooting and that her and kaazir can actually be together. I am so glad that the cooples found happiness in each other. I hope that Kendra bay doesn’t belong to shai. I hope there is a part 2 to tell you what happened with the couples. Hopefully zuri can be able to carry this baby full term.

That ending!!
I have a million things to do, but this book forced me to be irresponsible. I'm rooting for both couples, but I'm not sure if they are all gonna make it. Sexy read both men are the total opposite, but both book baes in their own right. The ride is worth it. Highly recommend!

Not amazed at all
J Dominique never seems to amaze me but this one took me by surprise. I love how casually Zuri and Shi hooked up and how her friend Melaysia is such a rider. Now we not going to talk about Zuri lame ex husband and his shenanigans but this book is great and I’m ready for book 2

It was good. I was entertained and engrossed. Instead of sleeping I was reading. Then I got annoyed. I hate cliffhangers in books. I hate cliffhangers in books when it's not noted that there will be a cliffhanger. Had I known there was a cliffhanger I would've waited until the rest of the story was ready. If you don't mind cliffhangers then grab this book because it's good.

The drama is real!!
The twists and turns are so real. I definitely did not expect the double lives lived by most people in the book. It appears most of the characters are not completely honest with one another. It is actually quite interesting.
It is also funny, sexy and filled with drama. Can't wait for the next book.

Wish I was alone in Miami at 3am!
I thought this book was a great read, we are reading it for our book club. this book is so captivating, I could not put it down! Wasn't too long, just enough to keep me reading and wanting more at the same time! Can't wait to read book two, just got it and ready to get started. I will definitely be reading some of your other books.

3 AM Love Connection
Enjoyed from start to finish, onto part 2. I just love Zuri and Shai together. Zaakir and Sevyn they make a great couple as well. I'm hoping that Sevyn is going to be okay, Zaakir is going to be on that emotional tip that he told Shai not to be on. Tramel aint ish and DeShawn can kick rocks too.
