Cold and starving, a young orphan boy, Sa’laliqe, finds himself alone in the northern woods of Miaca, with nowhere to go but forward. He decides to head south toward milder weather and bigger cities where a small beggar boy might find some generous souls. This isn’t only an introduction to Sa’laliqe but to the Miacon planet, its people and its culture. A culture rich in heritage and diverse in values where a man can take to the stars or craft hand-made artisan goods. Where you can take a spaceship between planets, then a prehliq and cart between towns. Where heritage and history live alongside advanced technology. Barely into his journey south, cruel fate sees Sa’laliqe attacked and convicted of murder, his execution coming in days. Then he’s offered one way forward…
insanely overrated, I read this quite a while ago so maybe my reviews not the best but the world building is Sooo good and I remember loving how it was written. anyway super exited for a sequel :)
