This is one of the better books in the Kelly Turnbull series, maybe tied for the best.

It is a mil-fic thriller with nonstop action and a good plot and characters. The ending is more satisfying than many of the other books in the series. The scenes are crafted as if Schlichter had an eye out for a future movie deal. He certainly knows that Hollywood would never greenlight a Kelly Turnbull film, but I suppose hope springs eternal for an indie breakthrough hit like Sound of Freedom.

Where Schlichter really shines is in his snarky humor, which is even more nonstop than the action. Some of the best examples are subtle. One of the innumerable feuding leftist factions uses the acronym POUM, a sly reference to the Spanish Civil War. A leggy steakhouse greeter sports a name tag reading “Coulter”. Another character is described with the line, “She was wearing black eyeliner and looked like a Cure fan who had eaten several other Cure fans”.

This rates 4 stars as a mil-fic thriller and 5 stars for politically incorrect humor.

fun pulp action fun

The Kelly Turnball books are solid pulp fun action. This time with a dog. Every good book should have a dog. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

This series is probably one of my favorite, you have to be in the political side of things to really enjoy it though. However the action is packed enough in each sequence make up for a lot you might not get as a average Non-Politico.

Kelly Turnbull is the most traditional action type hero you can get, something when the Good guys and bad guys used to mean in yesteryear. From political intrigue to funny one liners, the Kelly Turnbull series makes it all worth it. The world is insane and over the top, yet I feel like this is slowly becoming a normal reality in America.

Kurt Schlichter happens to keep this universe and its main Characters like Deeds and Casey entertaining enough to keep the wheels on this bus moving. Even small and minor side characters, (who later might or might not become cannon fodder), are in their own way just plain fascinating to see interact with Turnbull.

In the end, problems can be solved when you just shoot the evil.

Great read, loved it, plain entertaining, don't take yourself too seriously. ALSO I hope this series doesn't become prophetic for America.

At this point, my review of all these books is the same. Schlichter has found his formula. The parody of a left-right American split and what happens after is excellent. He writes action well and his plots are pretty good. The fake coup leading to a schemed reunification of red and blue America in this book was unique. His parody of woke activity militants was actually pretty hysterical, right down the giraffe fur-sona that Turnbull recruited as a member of his team to infiltrate Manhatten.

For me personally, his highly technical descriptions of weaponry and cars and machinery doesn't really do it for me (I say this every time) but I'm sure most of his audience appreciates them. Overall, solid fun entry, that does drag on a little long, but an enjoyable "popcorn" book none the less.

Excellent Series

When I started reading this series I was immediately drawn into it. My wife couldn't believe that how much time I spent reading. I'm more of a video watching person, not a book reader. But once I started reading about our country splitting in two I couldn't stop reading. Kelly Turnbull is a believable character, as are the surrounding players.
If you are interested in a probable future of the United States, and you're concerned about its outcome, this series is for you. Just know it's difficult to put down once you get started.
I definitely recommend this series! I truly enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too.

The best!

This is the best of the whole series. Drama, laughs, ridicule about the blues growing destructive craziness and the frightening monsters it produces. Then there's the satisfying gunplay and war strategies whirling around increasingly well drawn characters, some of them so poisonous that they're hard to take. All of this is countered by the humour about the wokeist naming of everything under the sun. It's hard to stop laughing at this at times. It's an absolutely gripping read to the final page.

This is a continuation of excellence in a fiction series (Bordering on soon to be reality). The author points out the disgusting abuse of and disregard for the Constitution the politicians are sworn to uphold. This is what the Country will look like as we slide down the drain into a totally corrupt and power-hungry cesspool of politicians who hate us. This series is a must read for people who love this Country and want to be prepared. This and anything written by KS is worth buying and reading.
I can't wait for the next book in this series and any other books by Kurt.

Solid entry in the series

If Tom Clancy thrillers were crossed with 1984, and sprinkled with top kek, it would be this series.

Queer to be writing this from an account stricken by some cancel-gnome at Amazon. Who'd have thought we'd be living in a neo-fascist state in the US with huge businesses like Amazon colluding with the State to silence Americans.

Sure hope these thrillers do not get less fictional next year.

The Violence is Amazing as is the Detail

Another very violent tale, loaded with detail. The cynical outlook of the power brokers is sickening … and appears very true to life. The question of the balance between privileges and responsibilities for citizens and for residents remains unanswered: Robert Heinlein’s answer in Starship Troopers won’t work in the limited government of the Kurt Schlicter’s Red USA.

Congratulations Colonel!

Congratulations on another amazing look into your crystal ball. While I hope our country doesn’t come to this level of crazy it’s great to read your thoughts and enormous amounts of sarcastic humor towards the woke folk! Thanks for your hard work and I will be looking forward to the next installment!

Schlichter does a great job

Kurt Schleicher does a great job spinning a yarn. While it may be worrisome, it unfortunately seems like a vision of the future. Hopefully he's wrong, but in the meantime it's a fun story! Keep up the storytelling. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

It's good old fashioned Kelly Turnbull

The stereotypes almost overtake the novel, almost. However, Schlichter is right on the money on the divide we have come to in this country and the growing inability together. It's rather pessimistic for him, but then again, so am I.

as usual Kelly wins the day

Love the descriptions of the destructive changes the blues made to our country and worry that much of what he writes about may come true. God bless America!

Frightening possibility

Many segments of the story ring true for current social events unfolding in today's society. The only thing that keeps our Republic in tact is that good people will do bad things to ensure it survives and God bless them.

thanks Kurt

I will be really bummed when you are done writing this series. Big thrill that Turnbull’s wife-to-be gave him a version of my EDC as a “wedding pistol”. I have a crush on Lorna.

Cliffhanger like always!!!

Can't wait for number 9. I love all the anti-woke dialog and how Kurt keeps it current. Maybe with a 2nd Trump presidency he'll kill wokeism as dead as Kelly does. Thanks for another great ride!!!

awesome action

Kelly Turnbull I a man of few words and brutal action! I love the whole series of Kurt’s unabashedly brutal and conservative super hero! A John Wayne of our time who doesn’t take s*** off of anyone!

Fast paced. Having read all the others it was predictable. Good diversion. I would rate this one lower than the others.

This is way too close to the truth, and I really hope we put a stop to it before it gets to this… Level.

Military thriller

This was a good addition to the Kelly Turnbull series. I wonder what will happen in the next book. I think Gibson made a great partner for Kelly.

Good Book-Don’t Let It Come To This

Nails the woke nonsense and knows weapons and tactics. Appreciates the .45 properly. And the 16 inch naval gun. Don’t let this happen!

Once again, a great read from Kurt. His portrayal of the PR seems to be more and more familiar every day.
