I’ve been avoiding my ex. More like hiding from him, but that’s just semantics. But hiding isn’t possible now that he’s my new neighbor. We dated all through high school, but then the day after graduation, I ended things, which I know broke his heart. But at the time, I thought I was making the best choice. Now I regret it. Actually, I’ve regretted it for a while. Pretty much since the day we said goodbye. As much as I want to apologize and make things right—if that’s even possible—I’m afraid to face him. And telling him why I broke up with him will crush him. Clinging to the old adage that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, I spend an entire night making his favorite cookies. Apologies go better with cookies, I think. At least I hope so.
Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.
She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her new series, Bluebonnets & Billionaires, will launch in Jan 2019. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.
I’ve been looking forward to Archer’s story, and it was everything I hoped it would be! I loved this heartwarming second chance romance and couldn’t get enough!
Lettie broke up with Archer the day after their HS graduation and he never knew why. It broke his heart and he never got over it. Lettie has regretted it every single day, but she thought at the time she was making the best decision for Archer. Now she’s moved to his new town and they become neighbors who share a wall, which makes things very interesting. Lettie would love a second chance with Archer, but she fears telling him why she broke up with him will hurt him even more. Will they be able to mend their fences and rekindle their love once again?
I have loved Archer all throughout this series, so it was fun to get to know him more in this book. Bless him, he was a broken man who had endured many hardships. My heart went out to him. Lettie was a sweet soul who loved to cook. She knew the way to Archer’s heart..through his stomach! I loved that she was a curvy woman, and Archer agreed with me! 😉 He loved Lettie inside and out and made sure she knew it!
I loved the found family aspect of this story and the whole series! I found myself wishing I could sit down with these characters and just visit with them. I loved them all so much! Now, I’m excited and can’t wait for the next one!!
Things I Loved: 💗Crocheting Cowboy 💗Toffee cookies 💗Curvy FMC 💗Donuts 💗Second chances 💗Forced Proximity 💗The Boyfriend Trap 💗The flying tree roach 💗The homemade dinner 💗Hazy 💗Caretaking (Loopy Archer) 💗“Hi, neighbor.” 💗Thigh pillow 💗Anderson 💗The graveyard scene
Thanks to the author for gifting me this complimentary copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
“Lettie got me through the hardest, darkest time of my life. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. But it’s also what made the breakup so difficult to accept. She was my safe place. Until she wasn’t.”
This was such a sweet, fun, and heartwarming second chance romance! I’m drawn to characters who overcome difficulties in their lives, and Lettie and Archer had more than their share.
When Lettie broke up with Archer five years ago without an explanation, it broke his heart. At the time she thought she was making the best choice for him, but now it’s her biggest regret.
Archer never got over losing the love of his life, and he’s stunned to find she’s moved to where he’s now living.
Lettie would love another chance with Archer, but she’s sure that telling him why she broke up with him will crush him.
What I loved: 🩷 Text messages 🩷 Parent Trap/Boyfriend Trap 🩷 Forced proximity 🩷 The flying roach 🩷 Caretaking—Loopy Archer 🩷 Curvy girl rep 🩷 Secondary characters 🩷 HEA and bonus epilogue
One of the things I love most about this series is the feeling of found family. As one of the characters in this story says, “Family takes care of family,” and this comes across so beautifully in this wonderful story.
CW: parent who is dealing with addiction, death of parents
This series brings me so much joy! Each book and each character is so perfect! This one did not disappoint. Lettie and Archer gave me a reason to like second chance romances. I don’t typically like this trope but with these two it worked. The feelings and emotions seemed realistic and they each did a good job of trying to move on before they were drawn back to each other. I thought the pacing was well done, and as always the side characters are delightful. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! . I received an advanced copy and I loved it! All opinions are my own 😊
This sweet and swoony cowboy series by Remi Carrington makes me smile! I love getting to know each one of the guys on Stargazer Springs Ranch better in every book and Archer’s story did not disappoint. Loved, loved, loved his second chance romance! More Than an Ex-Girlfriend is my favorite in the series so far!
Archer and Lettie dated in high school. In fact Archer almost asked Lettie to marry him but Lettie unexpectedly broke things off; breaking Archer’s heart. Lettie has been living in town staying hidden until Archer catches sight of her at the local donut shop where she works. When Archer and Lettie end up living next door to each other by chance they begin to grow closer, starting over as neighbors only. Although old feelings are starting to return, Archer refuses to give Lettie his heart in fear of getting hurt again.
I really enjoyed Archer’s character in the last couple books. A good guy, a good friend, and I love that he is a cowboy who enjoys crocheting. I was so excited to read his book and I got pulled into this story right away. It was emotional because both Archer and Lettie have had a hard past but their story is also heartwarming, funny, and had me smiling. I loved the aspect of them being soul mates and even when they thought they were anonymously DMing someone else their connection was still there. Lettie was such a sweet character. I enjoyed her love for cooking comfort food and the description of her meals had me drooling. I can see why Archer enjoyed them so much. I also really loved the curvy girl rep in this book. Sometimes Lettie felt a little self conscious, but Archer made sure she knew he loved her both inside and outside. These two took care of one another and had such a beautiful relationship. Throughout this series there has been the theme of found family among the ranch and it really shined in this book. I loved how this was shown in the quote “Family takes care of family.” Lettie isn’t used to being surrounded by people who care, so it was touching to see everyone pull together for her and Archer at the end of the book.
Favorite moment: •Crocheting Cowboy and Regretful Raccoon •”I've spent the last few months getting over Lettie by talking to Lettie.” •Homemade dinners •Killing the roach ¥Lettie taking care of sick Archer and Archer taking care of sick Lettie •The first kiss •Minecraft gaming •Lilith and Tandy
Content Awareness: Lettie having a parent who is an addict and is in an unhealthy relationship, loss of a parent for both MC. Handled with care by the author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Archer & Lettie have such a heartwarming second chance romance filled with forced-proximity, caretaking, found family in the most beautiful ways, so many precious moments, and fun.
Things I Loved: -“I don’t need a reminder that my behavior isn’t normal. I’m on my hands and knees in a public place to avoid my ex. Normal and I have zero overlap on a Venn diagram.” -Tandy 😂 -Dag—I just love him -The Boyfriend Trap -The cookies -The flying roach 😅 -“You were there for me when my parents died, and I can’t forget that. So I’m working on getting over my hurt. We’re neighbors and friends. I kill your roaches and move your furniture, and you treat me to my favorite things.” -Minecraft world -“Safe zone” aka the doorway -“Links means you love me.” -Mr. Rogers reference -“That is probably supposed to mean something, but I have no idea what. It seems that Lettie now has inside jokes with the loopy me, and I’m clueless.” -The blanket ♥️ -The Rescue -“Family takes care of family.” -Mr. Hoover -“I love this ranch almost as much as I love you.” -The whole ending/epilogue & BONUS epilogue ♥️
I adore the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs and Archer and Lettie did not disappoint one bit. Whether you’ve made a visit to this ranch before or this will be your first trip, you do not want to miss this sweet and swoony read!
Trigger warning: Actively dealing with a parent who is an addict/unhealthy relationships/threatening & past loss of parent(s) for both MCs. Handled with care and not heavy in detail.
With every book I fall in love with Stargazer Springs Ranch and its’ inhabitants a little more. I think this is my new favorite in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone.
Lettie is a beautiful girl with a big regret. She broke up with her boyfriend right after graduation and has regretted it ever since. She ends up years later in the same area he is in.
Archer is living his dream of being a cowboy on a ranch. He’s never gotten over his love for Lettie or the hurt she caused when breaking up with him without a reason.
After hiding out so he won’t know she’s in town they inevitably run into one another. It doesn’t go well. Can they ever make things right between them?
This is a very sweet second chance romance with found family, forced proximity and more. I really loved the main characters and all of their found family. This is a delightful heartwarming romance and I highly recommend it.
Every time I read a book in this series I fall more in love with them. This may be due to the fact that I'm getting more familiar with the cast of characters, many of them have had their own books previously. I really want to go bakc and read them all!
This certainly can be read as a standalone, just know that you will be introduced to many side characters and it can get a little overwhelming if you aren't familiar with them. It certainly isn't necessary to have read the others though!
This is a sweet second chance story with many adorable moments. I really liked both Archer and Lettie and was happy to see them overcome their issues.
I did receive an advanced copy of the book from the author. I'm happily leaving an honest review.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Archer and Lettie. The author brings all the feels in this second chance at romance story. She brings laughter along with the distrust and has them working hard at making it work. The story moves fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes and is a terrific heartwarming read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Lettie & Archer’s points of view
– Lettie lost her father when she was 7 & her mother became an alcoholic around the same time
– Archer lost his parents in a fire & grew up with his grandmother (past events)
– Lettie deals with believing that because she gained weight guys won’t find her attractive, let alone that Archer would having known her before (all self thoughts)
– there is a scene involving a roach (the scene is fairly quick)
– Lettie’s mom’s boyfriend causes issues & causes extreme discomfort to Lettie (past & present events – *Spoiler/more info on it between asterisks*)
*(past -walking in Lettie’s room unannounced & then changing her knob to one that didn’t lock; present events -speaking suggestively to her through her front door, breaking into her place with the intent of grabbing her/her important belongings to achieve his goals of getting the money being given to Lettie)*
– a character was discriminating against Lettie because of her skin color & her mother’s known history (past event)
Review:
I love Remi’s cowboy romcoms so much! I loved how Lettie & Archer used to date back in high school, but their relationship didn’t end well. Archer still holds hurt over how Lettie broke up with him, which made their relationship so much sweeter as they learned how to rebuild trust between themselves. I also liked that there as a little bit of anonymous conversation between the two of them online & that one of them figured out who they were actually messaging before the other one. I loved how their relationship was rebuilt to friendship before it became anything more & that both of them were fighting their feelings a bit for different reasons. I think my favorite part of this whole book was the fact that the two of them accidentally became neighbors which led to them growing closer since they weren’t able to avoid each other. Oh, and the epilogue was cute as well! I loved getting a glimpse into their future & the redemption of a person in their life.
Summary:
Lettie was kicked out of her childhood home by her mother & decided to make a new start far away. With the guilt of having left Archer all those years ago, Lettie finds herself curious about how he’s doing and ends up finding a place to live in the same area as him. But with her feelings for him still going strong & possibility of him still being hurt by her actions, Lettie finds herself avoiding him at all costs. Until they happen to bump into each other and then later discover they’re to be neighbors. There’s no avoiding him or the apology she knows she has to give him…
Archer hasn’t been able to let go of his complicated feelings for Lettie, his ex girlfriend. So much so that he hasn’t really been able to date anyone else. When he finds someone online that seems to have gone through something similar, Archer can’t help but feel the connection. As their conversations lengthen, he finds himself looking forward to messages from her, especially when he bumps into the lady of his mixed emotions in town & later discovers she’s his new neighbor. Archer doesn’t know what to do with everything, but Lettie wants to make things right between them. Can he forgive her without knowing why she chose to leave him in he first place though?
Such a cute and sweet second chance romance. (Although there are some heavy themes that influence the story.) There’s some light You’ve Got Mail vibes. Lettie and Archer were lovely characters and I really enjoyed following the progression of their relationship. Both still loved the other, and I liked how they didn’t play mind games about it, even though they weren’t able to overcome the roadblocks to a future together…at least at first. There were a lot of sweet and caring moments between them while they navigated friendship. I also liked seeing the other friendships, and how honest they were with each other. There are also some funny moments that kept the story from being too heavy. Favourite line: “‘I have my own self-defense plan. I eat tacos and donuts so that I’m too heavy to be dragged away.’” While this book is part of a series with lots of character carryover, it can be read as a standalone. This book contains themes of death, grief, parental alcoholism, racism, weight based insecurity, and threats of sexual assault. This is a closed door story with mild innuendo and no harsh language.

The Cowboys of Stargazer Springs is such a charming series, and I’ve been so eager to read Archer’s story. His past relationship with Lettie has been hinted at, and I was so curious to learn what happened between them and if they would end up giving their romance another chance.
Archer and Lettie are both compelling protagonists, their second-chance romance is so lovely. High school sweethearts who haven’t spoken in years, the pair’s relationship is unresolved. Archer doesn’t understand why Lettie broke up with him, and Lettie can’t reveal the secret that would deeply wound Archer. I adored these two and how deeply they cared for each other. Even though they have a lot to work through, they still support and take care of each other during their vulnerable moments. Bigger and more dangerous moments where Archer has to face trauma from his past also reveal the depth of their feelings for each other. Their relationship is sweet, romantic, complex, tender, and funny, and I wholly rooted for them to find their way back to each other!
There’s one scene with a flying roach, and it is hysterical. I could totally relate to Lettie and then Archer as they dealt with this flying invader. A bat got into my house a few months ago, and I swear my husband never laughed as hard as he did when he saw me freaking out over it. But on top of being funny, this scene exemplifies the wonderful connection between Archer and Lettie. Even though he’s hurt and confused, he still puts her fears and needs ahead of his. And even though she is uncertain, she still knows she can depend on Archer. It’s little moments like this that are so funny and sweet while also adding layers to the characters and relationships. I think that’s one of the things I like most about the author’s stories. The characters and relationships are realistic, as are many of the situations and experiences they go through. And steeped in that reality are friends that feel more like family.
I low-key want to be adopted by the residents of Stargazer Springs Ranch. This is such a wonderful group of people, and the found family vibes are strong. Like the other books in the series, the ranch is a great backdrop to the story. When Lettie moves onto the ranch, she sees firsthand how supportive and familial the group is, as she is quickly welcomed into their fold. And the relationship between Archer and the son of one of his rancher friends is just wonderful. It made me adore Archer even more when he showed this more paternal side.
This is the sixth standalone book in the series, and though it can easily be read on its own, the previous books in the series are all great too. I would definitely recommend the book (and series) to readers who like clean romances.
More Than an Ex-Girlfriend, #6 - I am always delighted to read books by Ms. Carrington, she never disappoints. There is a bit of intrigue, not perfect childhoods and a bit of interference that ruins a love. But there comes a possibility of a second chance ala Hailey Mills. For the younger folk, Lindsay Lohan. Plenty of humor, laughs and family to finish this well woven tapestry filled with good story lines and wonderful characters. Source: The author, ARC. 5*
Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch: More Than a Little Flirting - Another interesting, funny, sweet romance that is so easy to get immersed in the pages. All three series have been so much fun to read.5*
More Than a Pair of Jeans, #1 - Lovely. Funny. Cute. I had so much reading this sweet romance. Wonderful characters and interesting story lines. Written by a lovely Texan and set in Texas, complete with horses, cattle and goats. Cannot forget about the mice and kittens. Plenty of social media, too. Has a preview of the story. 5*
More Than a Pretty Face, #2 - I just love this series. This story has such cute and sweet characters with plenty of humor. No silly mind games, just people trying to make a life with the person that they love while taking care of their friends. Living well, working hard and loving with all their hearts and souls. 5*
More Than Falling in Love, #3 - Plenty of matchmakers in this cute, sweet romance. Mason has a great part and the rest of the Stargazer crew is right in the thick of it all. Well written. Lots of fun. Lots of romance in the works. 5*
More Than A Silly Crush, #4 - The Stargazer series, all three of them, have been nothing but entertaining, filled with love, humor and wonderful characters. Combined with well written and thoughtful story lines that meld all the books together, it is difficult to put any of these books down. This is a fun and loving story about patience and best friends. 5*
More Than a Good Friend, #5 - I enjoy the dry sense of humor, not mean but cute bits here and there, as well as the regular funniness, and fun, for which the Stargrazer books are known. Ole Hidalgo finally grows up and sees Goldie as she actually is, instead of taken for granted. Lovely story. 5* Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch end.

Hidden identity/Secret pen pals. You've got Mail vibes (they're messaging each other online and don't know) Second Chance Romance. Found Family. Baking. Care taking. Fever ramblings 😆 Forced proximity. Curvy heroine. Protective hero 🤌🏻 Archer is sooo sweet and swoony, but holding back to protect his heart. Lettie is caring, feeling guilty, and wanting to rekindle their relationship but unsure where Archer stands. They have a lot to work through but it's a great journey. I enjoyed the crossover. This one has some characters from the Never Say Never Series. I think it combines the vibes from both series really well!
💕 Romantic Content: Just swoony kisses
⚠️ CW: Parent deals with Addiction.
🗨 Some Quotes: I don’t need a reminder that my behavior isn’t normal. I’m on my hands and knees in a public place to avoid my ex. Normal and I have zero overlap on a Venn diagram.
He follows, then taps my arm. “Is the smoke why your eyes are red?” I turn to face him, and he studies me with a gaze that makes me feel like he can see into my soul.
“I’m not brave, Lettie.” He’s staring at the fire. I rub his arm. “Someone once told me that bravery isn’t fighting dragons. Sometimes it’s just picking up the phone. And I’ll add that sometimes bravery is just showing up.” “As long as it’s in my power, I will always show up for you, Lettie. Always.”
I love every time I get to go back to this Stargazer Spring Ranch! The Family that is built there is second to none! These books are Found Family to a T!
Archer, I could not wait to hear his story. Going through a tragedy and heart broken it’s good to know he loves what he is doing. And how cute is it that he Crochet’s!!! Trying to move on from the love of his life he learns that he has unknowingly been messaging her in this app, no wonder he felt comfortable and happy conversing. But she ended things after high school graduation, How can he forgive her unless he knows why.
Lettie regrets ever letting Archer go, but though she doesn’t think he will ever forgive her she can’t help but check up on him and make sure he is doing well and there is also the fact that her mom kicked her out of the house so why not start fresh and maybe work up to at least being friends with Archer?

Author Pamela Humphrey did it again! I just love her sweet swoony cowboy romances. Archie and Lettie’s story is so cute! I’m not usually one for a second chance trope, but I loved it. And I love Archie’s nickname ;) Lettie moves to her ex-boyfriends town, but then totally hides from him even when that means she’s crawling on hands and knees out of a restaurant so she’s not seen by him. But when they end up becoming neighbors, there’s no more hiding and conversations need to be had. They rekindle their friendship through a series at events like a freakin cockroach (I hate those things), the flu, and more (I won’t spoil the end for you). But the friendship becomes more when the truth about the past is told and fear is overcome. These two are just so cute and the bonus epilogue makes me happy. Oh and I can not wait for Anderson’s story next! He is the nicest cowboy! Thank you Pamela for and arc copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Oh Archer, I just want to hug him. 5 years after the love of his life broke up with him he’s still struggling on moving on. And he did try, he has a pretty good life overall. He’s doing what he loves and has found a family to call on his own. But he still seems to be stuck on the one person that broke his heart. It doesn’t help that everyone around him seems to be finding love.
And then their paths cross again and he can’t just seem to avoid Lettie. He feels like he can’t move past the hurt until he knows why she broke it off. Oh Lettie, she really thought she was doing the right thing by breaking it off when she did but why does it still hurt so much? But she can’t tell Archer the real reason why, because it’ll break his heart even more.
As they try to work on their friendship, lines get blurred. And they can’t ignore the fact that they just fit well together and still very attracted to each other. Lettie wishes they can have a second chance but can Archer move past the hurt?
A sweet second chance romance filled with laughter, love and acceptance. This series has proved that found family is sometimes even better than blood. Archer and Lettie are very lucky to be surrounded by people that love and support them no matter what.
This is an ARC review and these are my honest thoughts and opinions. I absolutely love a good second chance romance! Archer (MMC) and Lettie (MFC) have never stopped thinking about each other, but what will happen when they come face to face 5 years after Lettie unexpectedly broke Archers heart?? My heart hurt for Archer, but I can see why Lettie would have thought she was helping him by leaving. This story was all around a great ,sweet , romance (WITH COWBOYS!!) I can not wait to read all of the other books in this series. I will happily recommend this book to others! I want to say thank you to Remi for my ARC to read and review. As always ,please check the TW!
Read this if you like: - forced proximity - second chance romance - plus size representation
Loved this one!! This was a perfect second-chance first love story. Archer and Lettie may have broken up but they both love each other to no end. After years of not speaking, Lettie moves to be closer to Archer but is so scared to see him again, she hides for over a year. When Archer and Lettie become neighbors, they are forced to speak and become friends again. Of course by doing so, the two of them discover that neither one has moved on. As time passes, their relationship rekindles and the truth of why they broke up is revealed. A beautiful story of true love winning plus two people finding the family they both always needed together.
💫ARC Review💫 More Than an Ex-Girlfriend by @phreypress •~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~• This was such a cute small-town second chance romance! Violet (Lettie) is our heroine who has followed our hero (Archer) in order to try and woo him back. This book has the cutesy second chance bit that I love most - heartbroken but still very obviously in love with one another aka “enemies” to lovers! If you’re looking for a cute small-town romance to read on a wonderful fall day, check out More Than an Ex-Girlfriend by Remi Carrington #phreypress #remicarrington #smalltownromance #secondchanceromance #cowboy #enemiestolovers #stargazersprings
Rekindling A Love That Was Meant To Be - Lettie and Archer never got over their break up, but it was for different reasons and this made it difficult for them to be around each other years after the breakup. However, fate brought them back into each other’s lives again. Even though they tried to maintain a platonic relationship to ensure they kept their hearts safe, living in close proximity made them realise that they weren’t over their love for each other.
Unfortunately, Lettie’s life turned chaotic, which had Archer stepping in the help her and this caused Archer to create space between them. Luckily, they got the opportunity to spend time together again, which gave Lettie the confidence to reveal the secret by she broke up with him and made them realise they wanted wanted to be together.
I really enjoyed reading this story, but I found it tough reading some parts of the story, but it made for a really great storyline. I found it difficult to put it down and would happily recommend this book without a shadow of doubt. Grab a copy of this book and you won’t be disappointed.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A Sweet Second Chance Romance for Archer & Lettie. Remi’s cute writing style comes shining through Archer & Lettie’s story, quickly making her characters your friends. Heartache ensues when Lettie is not up front with Archer about the truth of why she originally broke up with him, then moved closer to him, yet still hid from him. Because Dag is still clueless, he facilitates Archer awkwardly finding Lettie again, and then the “fun” starts. I enjoy the author’s writing style with her word mixes and homey sayings, as well as the good hearted people of Stargazer Springs Ranch and the places round about. I received an ARC copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Archer was trying hard to get over his ex-girlfriend for several years so he moved to a new town. He thought he was making progress but when he walked into the donut shop and found Lettie working there, he was shocked, furious and, strangely, glad to see her. I loved this sweet story about how these two characters kept getting thrown into each others’ lives and I loved their wonderful friends who felt more like family. This book contains some of the characters from earlier books in the series but it can be read as a standalone without a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed! Rating: 4.5. I received an ARC from the author and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
Welcome back to Stargazer springs! We get to see Lettie and Archers second chance romance. What a fun, sweet story of how Lettie regrets her breakup from Archer and how they find their way back to each other. You get to see Archer learn to trust her again and watch their friendship come back slowly. As always I just loved seeing the rest of the ranch family and their interactions. I wish they were actually real and I could go eat a breakfast with them all.
Also Remi Carrington is the Queen of epilogues! I always get exactly what I want out of them.

The Cowboys of Stargazer Ranch series is about the guys who work on the ranch and their significant others. These are sweet romances. This is Lettie and Archer’s story. She broke up with him 5 years prior because of something his grandmother said to her. This is the story of how they find their way back to each other. Both characters have not had it easy and there is one character in the book who is an alcoholic/addict and emotionally abusive. The characters are relatable and rise above it all and get their HEA.

More Than an Ex-Girlfriend is the sixth book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Ranch series. While we've met many of the characters in previous books in the series, I do think this would read just fine as a standalone as well. That said, it's a great series and I'd highly recommend the rest of it too.
I have been curious about Archer's story since being introduced to him in previous books, and I am happy to say that it did not disappoint. I've always really enjoyed a second chance romance and this one was done really well. Both Archer and Lettie had had difficult childhoods and had such a sweet connection... they were high school sweethearts, but Lettie broke Archer's heart when she left him with no explanation years before. Imagine his surprise when she shows up not just in his new town but living right next door!? We are given bits and pieces of their history as the story goes on--- just enough to keep me wanting to know more, and I loved the chance to see them work through things and reconnect. Throw in a little found family, caretaking, and pen pal moments and there was really just so much to love about this story! And without any spoilers, I just have to say... the cemetery scene? I absolutely adored it! If you're looking for a great second chance romance, this is definitely one to read!
More Than an Ex-Girlfriend is a closed-door romance with great chemistry, but nothing beyond kissing.
**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.
This story is funny, sweet, charming, and oh, so relatable. I have enjoyed reading every single book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs collection and this one did not disappoint! The story drops us back a bit into the previous book, More Than a Good Friend, before diving into it and I love that because it not only sets the stage and tone of the book but reminds the reader who the catalysts are and how much of a family the staff at the ranch is. Lettie avoids conflict and eats her feelings (totally get that), but she is brave and independent as well, and she knows what her heart wants. She just needs a little nudge. Archer is a sweet cowboy with a soft heart and a history of hurt behind him, but he would do anything for Lettie, even though she is the one who broke his heart. I loved watching them heal and fall in love again. This book has found family, second chance, and forced proximity, and there may be a few life-or-death situations that help push our couple to realize and embrace their feelings. It may be one of my favorites in the collection!

*I received an E-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review* - Thank you @phreypress!
If you like You’ve Got Mail, you’ll like this book! The fact that the main characters watch You’ve Got Mail in this book cracked me up! More Than an Ex-Girlfriend has an interesting twist on a concept that I had not read before, which I can’t go into without spoilers! I didn’t know how I would feel about it but I actually enjoyed it and I’m happy I gave it a chance!
Can I just say... the tree roach scene was hilarious! I would 1000% be Lettie in that situation and I have no shame admitting it. Once you read this book, come back to this review and let me know who you would be in that scene!
As we know, I love the cowboy and found family tropes, along with having depth and heavier topics, which all satisfied me in More Than an Ex-Girlfriend.
I also loved that Remi gave a note at the end of the book explaining her own experience that inspired something in More Than an Ex-Girlfriend. You need to read the book to find out what it was!
More Than An Ex-Girlfriend is now published so read it today! 🎉
This is an amazing second chance romance! Lettie broke Archer’s heart after high school but gets a second chance years later. There are lots of emotions and hang-ups for them to work through and lots of great secondary characters to help them move forward. You can’t help but root for them to get back together.
Not to spoil anything, but I loved the bonus epilogue and seeing things come full circle! Wonderful story!!!
It will come as no surprise to you that I really enjoyed this book. I am so invested in the cowboys and cannot wait for them all to find love. Archer and Lettie were a cute couple and I loved how Remi Carrington set up the story, giving the reader some history of their relationship.
If you like cowboys, forced proximity, donuts, found family and Stargazer Springs Ranch, read this one. It's adorable.
I adore the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs. Although this can be read as a standalone, each book in the series gives a glimpse into the next book and characters reappear throughout the series. I fall more in love with the series with each book.
This is full of charm, secrets, and second chances and is the sweet and swoony story that I was expecting but had a bit more depth. Lettie and Archer have a history that involves a lot of hurt and distrust. It also has a dose of danger when Lettie’s mom and step-dad make an appearance.
Even though Lettie tried to avoid Archer since moving to town, fate has them crossing paths and being forced together. Lettie and Archer deeply care for each other and are perfect together, but hurt from their past has them putting up walls. I enjoyed the way their healing played out. Their reconnection brought some laughs, tension, and super sweet moments.
