My review today is on the Christian Romantic Suspense, Hidden Sin. This is the first book in the Redemption Creek Romantic Suspense. I'm a big fan of Edie's work. I was thrilled to get this book in a new series. It's well-written, action-packed and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.

Former Black Ops Navy SEAL Bridger North is bored. It's been three years since he was forced out of the military. His last mission had been questionable. He and his team had been paid off an incredible amount of money but that didn't relieve the guilt they all felt. He and his best friend Tai are eating out when he receives a text from one of their teammates telling them someone is after him and asking him to do a favor for him. Jason needs him to go to his home town and finish a job he started. He and Tai left as soon as possible only to find Jason's sister is in trouble.

Jane Reilly is very concerned about her brother. He has come home from the military and bought a run down air strip. He was helping people in the small town but now he has disappeared. Then a tall, lean, guy turns up asking about her brother. Can she trust this stranger? Suddenly her whole life is turned upside down.

This is the beginning of a terrifying journey to find her brother and help her pastor. God has a plan for these two a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for harm. Give Him your heart and watch Him move even in this time of chaos.

Hidden Sins is a solid Christian Romance/Suspense. It pulled me in from the first line and kept me hooked until the end.

The blend of suspense, action, and romance in this clean, Christian Contemporary Fiction book is well done with believable characters and a plot that kept me guessing to the end.

I recommend Hidden Sins and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

2.5 Stars.
Not bad but not great either. I've read one other book by Edie James and I liked that one better, but it's been a while and hasn't really stuck with me. I would probably remember if I started reading it again. but right now I really don't want to.
This one won't stick with me all that much either.
Sadly it was difficult to stay interested in the story and the characters. I started skimming about a third of the way through. Right now a few minutes after reading this I can barely remember the lead's names. Except for Tai. I liked him.
I generally like these types of stories but I wasn't hooked in the beginning and I couldn't get into it further on.
Will I read the rest of the series? probably not. I wasn't drawn in nor invested enough to want to check out the rest of the story. I'm curious to see if they ever find James. but I'm not going to go out of my way to find out. Also I'm kind of over the whole prickly antagonistic relationship from the get go. and from the blurbs it seems like every couple is going to start out that way. I'm thinking about finding a book where the leads at least start from a pleasant attitude or something, even if there's suspense and action.
So Recommended? Eh. Like I said not bad, not great. I feel like this one is just me, since there are a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews.

Sins of the Past

Former Black Ops Seal Bridger North and his old teammate, Tai, are heading to Redemption Creek at the request of Jason Reilly. It appears Jason, another teammate, is in hiding and needs help with a case he is working on. Bridger and Tai find out that Jason is trying to help a pastor find his blackmailer/stalker. Jane Reilly, Jason’s sister, becomes involved in helping solve the pastor’s case along with trying to find her brother. Who is blackmailing the pastor? What does the blackmailer have on the pastor? Why is Jason in hiding?

When the case becomes complicated, Bridger calls in help from a couple of his former teammates. Turns out the whole crew shows up to help. Will they be able to solve the case before anyone gets killed?

As time goes on, Bridger and Jane begin to develop feelings for one another. Will their relationship continue to evolve?

Hidden Sins is well written clean romantic suspense book. It has drama, suspense, romance, twists and turns and will keep you interested until the end. I am looking forward to the next book as Jason still has to be found.

Redemption Creek by Edie James is a captivating Christian romantic suspense novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The story centers around former SEAL Bridger North and Jane Reilly, whose lives are intertwined by a dangerous past involving Jane's ex-husband and his criminal activities. When Jane's ex resurfaces, embroiled in an embezzlement scheme, Jane and Bridger are forced to confront escalating threats, with her safety, and even the future of her ex's child, hanging in the balance.
This installment in the Redemption Creek series showcases Edie James's knack for blending action, intrigue, and faith-based themes. Readers praise the book's fast-paced plot, well-developed characters, and the heartwarming journey of faith and love amidst peril. It's a testament to the power of trust and teamwork, as Bridger and his elite team race against time to unravel the mystery and protect Jane from forces far more sinister than they imagined.

I purchased a copy of the Christian Romantic Suspense Hidden Sins by Edie James, and this review was given freely.
Easy flowing with some violence, drama, and the start of a romance, this is a good introduction to the Redemption Creek townspeople and the series of protectors.
Three years after his Black Ops Squadron disbanded after discovering their superiors were dirty, Seattle-based former Navy SEAL Bridger North and his former teammate Tai travel to former teammate Jason’s small Sierra Nevada town of Redemption Creek to save the pastor from blackmail, protect Jason’s sister Jane from multiple attacks, and find the missing Jason. As things begin to escalate, the rest of the former Black Ops team arrive. But while the town is made safe, Jason remains missing, and feeling unworthy, Bridger decides not to act on his growing feelings for Jane.

This series focuses on members of a former black ops team. Former Black Ops SEAL Bridger North and a friend and teammate Tai head to Redemption Creek at their friend Jason Reilly's request. When they arrive and discover that Jason has disappeared. Not only do they have to solve who has been blackmailing the pastor but also protect Jason's younger sister Jane who is in danger.
Hidden Sins hooked me straight in from the start. This is a well-paced suspense with danger, intrigue, and twists and turns. I enjoyed how the rest of the former black ops teammates show up to help solve the case and look for Jason who is hiding.

This is the first book for an upcoming series about individuals who thought they were working for the US government only to find out that in actually the group was called the Consortium. Nothing specifically is mentioned about the questionable deeds. More information will follow in the upcoming books, I am sure. Bridger doesn't think that he is worthy of a woman's love but develops feelings for Jane. Jane also has feelings for Bridger.
This is a clean mystery. No bad language nor sexual situations, but very predictable. Jane's brother is missing. Jane is at risk for her life, but the reason is not concluded for her. The pastor's life is also in danger. His situation is explained.
Just an okay read.

Edie James has me hooked on her new series and I am seriously hoping the next book is already on the way!
We meet Bridger and Jane and the rest of the BlackOut team in their first quest to find Jane's brother, their teammate. But before they can find him they must finish what he started. This book will keep you riveted and missing sleep without complaining as you are too excited to see what is going to happen next!
Edie James delivers again! Excellent job!

Ooh! Hottie cover!! I love this author’s work BUT I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! Especially when I’m not expecting it. This book is the start of a series and because I read so many books and there are spaces between the books I read from various authors I tend to forget characters and storylines. So, series don’t interest me unless I can read them back to back. So, I probably won’t read the rest of the series and I took away one star because the story doesn’t conclude and I hate that. The book is well written though so it still gets 4 stars.

Hidden Sins

Action, suspense, and danger follows the Blackout Squadron even after they no longer serve their country. Bridger is the leader of the pact and one of their own has disappeared asking Bridger to finish helping the pastor in Redemption Creek. Jane is the sister of the missing black op soldier. She is concerned with the disappearance of her brother and doesn’t realize she is putting herself in danger by investigating. Be sure to read the first part of their story in this book then pick up the second book as I plan to do.

Keeps you reading...and reading...

This book was great! It also wasn't what I expected....
Edie is great for strong storylines and lovable characters. In this book, she gave us a wounded warrior and a sweet lady who could heal him. I won't tell you how it ends but I will say that I didn't expect it. Excellent writing, Edie! Now I have to start the next book! I highly recommend Hidden Sins and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Editing needed

For an author with so many books one would think there would be less errors.

Jason was called a SEAL and a Green Beret.

We were told a character was dead before we knew it had happened.

There was a lot of repetitive agent in the main characters.

There were quite a few unoriginal cliched comparisons.

All that said, it was an enjoyable book. I liked the strong Christian message, it wasn't watered down. I also really liked the ending.

Wonderful Christ-centered Story

Don’t get me wrong, I love other “Christian” fiction, but it’s always something special when characters actually pray and rely on their Savior.

Besides that goodness, I loved the characters in this story, the ex-special ops backdrop, and the slow growth of emotions. Definitely picking up the next book!

Great read

I really enjoy Edie James's works. She writes superbly.

I had a hard time with the female lead. She came across as really stupid and ignorant. She wanted everything her way, even though she didn't know what she was doing. I kinda skipped through the book to get to a point where that character figured out she actually needed help.

A Very Compelling Story!!

This was a great start to a new series. All the main characters were brought together to help one of their own. The characters were very likable with each having different strengths and abilities that made up a great team. I can’t wait to follow Jane and Bridger’s story.

Great Start

I started reading this without knowing it was going to be a starter and slow burn. I love this author. Always an excellent combination of suspense and romance. I love the banter and action. You really cannot go wrong with one of her books.I was thinking this story better not rush an ending and fear not.

Decent read

The plot line behind the story is good but the character development is very lacking. You never feel as if you know the characters other than in a general way.
