TLDR; Cool plot idea. Lots of spice, fast pace, healing…. It just really needs an editor.

What’s solid: The story alone is good. FMC has vaginismus and is working towards healing this condition. Income hot friend and neighbor Theo is patient and caters to her fantasies at her pace. The spice was sweet and spicy. Very therapeutic, feel good romance.

Where it needs help: The grammar and misused words and missing words really took me out of the story and I found myself frustrated with it early on. This has been a common thing with this series and it just gets more and more frustrating unfortunately!

It's Frankie and Theo's time!
Frankie and Theo are neighbors, have been friends for a few years, and Theo finally seize the opportunity to make his move.

----------

You got me at biker girl, tattoo artist FMC and primal kink.

I have loved these novellas from the start. Each of them has a different feeling and each gains in depth.

The FMC has a condition I have heard about before but I had never read about it in fiction. I love the way it was defined and handled. I felt Frankie's pain and Theo was the perfect MMC trying to help her and understand her and never ever ever making her feel less capable. He's so patient and understanding and I love him!

I would have loved to know a little more about Theo as an individual, his work as a teacher and his kinks.

Very excited for the other stories in this series!

My Turn Petal

I really liked this addition to series. It is a standalone novel but it's connected
Theo really was perfect for Frankie. He was kind, thoughtful & dirty mouthed !
I like that he fell first.
I like that this wasn't a typical trope they had to work through.
Loved him calling her Petal

So going into this novella I thought it was going to be fun and light hearted, which it was but there was a whole other element I was not expecting or experienced with which was vaginismus. In true tism fashion, I abandoned the book to learn all about this medical condition I had never heard of. When i came back to the book post googling it gave me a whole new aspect and light when reading. Theo, the MMC, was absolutely amazing with his patience, understanding, and own research on vaginismus. He truly did whatever he could to make Frankie, FMC, feel the most comfortable. Of course this book is filled with smut but it's basically everything but penetration which is often over looked in smut because you want to "get to the good stuff" if you will. I absolutely loved the foreplay aspect of this book and how sometimes that's all that happens and it can still be really good.
I should also note this has me looking at math teachers in a whole new, slightly objectifying, way cause for a teacher he has the dirtiest mouth and the things he said while also at school?! As an adult 😏 as a student walking by 😟

This was a quick, fast-paced, but super sweet story! Frankie has a lot of internal struggles while dealing with a condition that she has, but she tries really hard not to let it affect her personality. Her struggles are something that she keeps well hidden and out of the public eye. When she moves into her apartment she immediately has a connection with her neighbor, Theo.

Theo is the sweetest man to ever come into Frankie's life. He's patient and so beyond willing to work with her and not against her. But let me tell you, his dark side and that mouth of his is 🥵

I loved how this story played out and how much Frankie was able to grow with the help of Theo. I loved when characters from the other books popped up too! I can't wait for the next one!

Kay, thank you so much for having me as a part of your team with this entire series, they've been wonderful and as I said before, I'm excited for more!

Another fast paced story. This story felt a bit different from the others and I found that I truly appreciated that. Without giving anything away, I cannot personally connect with this story but I appreciated how mature and developed the characters were considering the topic and that we were able to see a true journey of healing. Sometimes topics can feel thrown in and this was not the case. I thoroughly enjoyed reading in Theo and Frankie's POV as I felt that it enhanced the story.

My only hold up was that I wished that we were able to see more sides of Theo as it felt that Frankie dominated the story. It felt like his job and his backstory was an afterthought. But I did appreciate two mature characters delving into mental health and other conditions.

Wow! Wow! Loved this quick *he falls first* third book in the Ink our Hearts by Kay Jensen.

Frankie is dealing with a huge amount of internal issues that cause her difficulties with trust and intimacy. Good thing Theo is falls hard for Frankie and loonnnnggg before she falls for him.

Frankie tries to move forward but can't do it on her own. Theo's there to support her and help her all the way to their HEA.

Can't wait for the next books in this series!

This is my favorite book of the authors work so far. It hit me in ways I have never felt before. A sweet love story that centers around a condition I was previously ignorant towards. Every woman out there deserves a Theo in their life.

Not exactly my favorite of this series so far, but it was still an enjoyable read.
Kay Jensen wrote a story that I personally didn't relate to, but I know there will be plenty of women that can definitely relate. It's a great thing to have representation for everyone.

I loved the concept and the story line of her dealing with vaginismus. Definitely something I haven’t read a character having before, which is great. While I loved all that I found it difficult to read though, only cause it’s short I finished. Frankie seems to repeat stuff over and over. Times I just skipped though. Almost felt like a very first draft.
I really enjoyed the first two in the series, disappointed this one was such a let down.

My Turn Petal by Kay Jensen

Frankie suffering from vaginismus, she’s struggled to find a partner. So she gave up focusing on that and out all of her focus into her tattooing, and trying to treat her condition. While on the phone with her best friend she doesn’t realize that her neighbors door is open enough for the conversation to be overheard. She also doesn’t expect for him to come into her shop and offer to help her heal. They’ve been friends for 3 years, since the day she moved in and he offered to help carry her boxes. There was always that friendly flirty banter but neither ever crossed that line, they just enjoyed each others company.

Theo has had a crush on his neighbor/friend since the day he laid eyes on her. Hearing her friend tell her to take out an ad to advertise, and to pay someone to help her with her condition he had to make his move, no more friend zone! He never in a million years thought the day would come that he’d get his shot with the girl of his dreams. He’d seen her shattered, he’d heard her story, the difference between him and those past men…he wasn’t going to be temporary. With lots of research and trial and error he was going to watch her petals bloom.

Can Frankie let go of her crippling anxiety? Can she find the love she’s always desired? Can Theo be the one to finally break down her walls? Can he be the treatment she’s been searching for?

Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (unconventional but jam packed)

Ugh my lady, once again with these men! Your stories just keep progressing and though it may be a novella you packed so much emotion, awareness, and spice into this one! Thank you as always you are a rockstar babes! This is book 3 in the Ink Our Hearts series, they can be read as stand-alone but there are some chapter cross overs.

So much I could say about this. He growls a lot, and she has a *very* smoky laugh. What. “Shove that burger down your throat while you make yourself come with your other hand.” Excuse me?!? They did this in public, he's shoving food in her mouth whilst she 0rgasms, in a restaurant. “picks a fry, and slowly pushes it through my lips. “Yes, that’s it. Open your mouth,” he pushes the fry until his fingertip taps on my mouth, “And take what I serve you.” He just said "take what I serve you", girly, you're a math teacher, calm down. And in a different scene, she's listening to spicy audiobooks whilst t0uching herself. He then starts reading a food menu. “Fish fingers, spring rolls, calamari rings, FASTER,” he says rapidly, “Do it faster.” I cannot make this up. He then says “You’ll blurt incoherent sh1t like; look, oh god, I look, you feel, what you, sh1t, go, f*ck. If we’ll fall out of bed so be it. Even better.” English please girlie x. He then dirty talks her on the phone, WHILST HE'S AT WORK (he works in a high school). Put this man on a list right now. They then do it in public, in the woods: “He collects dirt in his palms, tosses it on my a*s, and rubs it in circles” that's completely normal 😀. She also has a condition called vaginismus, the plot of this is he helps her overcome this by being gentle and nice. At the end, she finally conquers it and he decides to say “I will ruin your p*ssy forever.” He just completely disregards what he's been doing this whole time 😭. I will not be reading this again. My friend recommended me this, never again 🙏🏻🙏🏻. I love you girlie, but no. This is also the longest review I've done because I'm that shocked by it. To each their own, but if you like this, stay back 🤺🤺

🩵Just when I think Kay Jensen can’t be better, she goes and does this. Her writing is so thoughtfully detailed and her characters have such deep emotional personalities.
🩵 I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed My Turn Petal. This book is a fast read full of some of the most beautiful, passionate dialogue I have ever read. Theo and Frankie take us on a very emotionally consuming journey.
🩵 Frankie suffers from vaginismus, a condition I was not aware of. I am happy it is being given attention. This debilitating condition affects the mental, emotional and physical health of the person suffering and reading about its impact on Frankie had my heart hurting. Frankie is a beautiful bad ass biker and successful tattoo artist that owns her own shop. The strength and fortitude for her to go years suffering in silence, while putting on a happy façade for others is so tragic. Theo has to be one of the most outstanding male characters I have ever read. Period. The endless patient, selfless dedication and passionate care given to Frankie to ensure she has everything she needs to work towards her healing is magnificent. Oh, besides him being a smokin sexy ass math teacher by day, his filthy mouth and naughty lessons with Frankie add to his incredibly intoxicating appeal.
🩵This story is very different from the previous ones but it is just as sensual and enthralling. I have yet to read a book by Kay Jensen that I did not love. Her writing speaks to me and makes me feel so deeply. I am addicted. I look forward to each and every book that she writes. If Kay Jensen writes it I’m reading it.

Book Review: My Turn Petal by Kay Jenson (ARC)
This is the 3rd book in the Ink our Hearts series.

Once again I loved the story. Although not my favourite out of the three it did deliver and the spice (starts around 30%) was kinky and had elements I’ve never read about before🫠🌶️🌶️

Kay was able to create a MMC Theo, whose patience, passion and support make him one of the best MMC characters I’ve read. I feel like we only kind of knew about the FMC Frankie’s condition and not really too much else about her compared to other characters we’ve met. At times I found that her condition was all she could focus on and nothing else. Some parts were slightly repetitive when talking about the condition also.

In saying all that I really enjoyed that Theo and Frankie had been friends for a while and both may have already been love before they even knew it. The build up to them making the deal was everything.

The condition was written about really well and respectful. I can only imagine what that would be like. Even though this is just story it really highlights the importance of expecting a person to be okay because they present well when really they could be having a lot going on behind the scenes.
It also highlights that sex can be different for everyone but still enjoyable and no one should be shamed for that.

Thank you once again for allowing me to be apart of your ARC team. I love your writing style, characters and spice. I enjoy the fact that no two books are the same and cannot wait to read the next ones.

“My Turn Petal” by Kay Jensen is the third book in the Ink Our Hearts series, and for the third time in a row, I’m utterly infatuated and completely enamored.

We meet Frankie; bad ass, motorcycle riding, tattoo artist, with a debilitating condition. Frankie is struggling invisibly to the outside world completely by herself. That is not to say she is entirely alone. Somewhat unbeknownst to her, Theo, her neighbor across the hall and close friend, overhears Frankie discussing her disability on the phone.

Theo hatches a plan to help Frankie and while his initial pitch doesn’t go well, with time and reflection Frankie comes to realize that Theo is the perfect person to help her heal and grow.

Frankie feels damaged and broken, but all Theo sees is beauty and strength. Their innate chemistry and flawless banter are riveting, leading to their intimacy burning up the pages.

Theo is an emotionally intelligent and integrated dirty talking Alpha, while Frankie is a fierce and fractured, beautiful soul.

When it comes down to it, “My Turn Petal” is a wonderfully written, sexy, emotional story that simultaneously moved and delighted this reader.

Definitely read “My Turn Petal”!

ARC REVIEW

My Turn Petal is book 3 in the Ink Our Hearts series by @kayjensenauthor . This novella focuses on Frankie and Theo. Frankie is a tattoo artist dealing with some trauma that she seems to not shake and is convinced she will not find someone that will understand and be patient. In comes Theo…. Another he falls first. Theo was just perfection. Not only was he taken by Frankie the moment he meets her, but he does everything Frankie needs to help her overcome her situation.

I was invested in this story the moment I started reading it. Not only Frankie’s story is unique and presents a condition and trauma I have never heard of, it also provides awareness to it. I did not have time to read this ARC before it came out but I so thoroughly enjoyed it. Jensen has an ability to present trauma in a way that a reader can relate to it even if its something they havent experienced before. I love how Kay Jensen has brought us unique and refreshing stories that doesnt not fall under the “I have read before” categories.

This is Frankie and Theo’s story. They are neighbors and Theo has had a crush Frankie for 2 years. She is a tattoo artist and he is a math teacher. He starts getting tattooed by her to be close to her and they become friends.

I absolutely love the way their friendship and relationship develops Frankie has Vaginismus and this prevents her from being intimidate with men and she’s been hurt so many times before. Theo overhears her conversation with her best friend and decides to offer a deal to help her.

This allows them to get to know each other on an intimate level and while Theo is kinky but he is patient with Frankie and just wants to help her. I really enjoyed their banter, snuggle sessions and how sweet he was with her. They are such a cute couple and I adore them. I really enjoyed the ties into Mine for 24 Hella Hours and Ink Me Bunny.

I’m excited for more books in this world. And more of Kay’s book.

“In our lives, we often get caught at a red light, but eventually, it turns green. Allowing us to carry on with our journey.”

My girl, Kay again, for the Win! I love being an ARC reader for Kay. The way she writes, just make you connect with the story. This is a great addition to the Ink Our Hearts series. Frankie and Theo story is definitely perfection. I love how Theo is just an all-around perfect spicy gentleman. He is helping Frankie heal her vaginismus condition. Frankie’s condition makes it hard for her to be intimate, she is a pretty strong on the outside but inside she’s breaking. It definitely broke my heart, reading her point of view thinking something is wrong with her and that she didn’t feel like she was worthy of love and intimacy. I loved that characters from the other books were incorporated into the story. I can’t wait for the next book.

I am yet to read a book by this author that I haven’t enjoyed! And this one is no different. The FMC has a condition which I haven’t read about before and it was interesting! And can I just say the way the MMC takes care of her is just swoon worthy!
I devoured this book and definitely recommend! Check your triggers though because the list is a dream! 🤣

What i wouldn't give to have a neighbour like Theo. This man has so much patience and oh so many incredible ideas to help frankie out. He's always had a thing for her but when he hears her condition he wants to help her out. Making a deal with her to help her out, hoping to help her, he gets so much more than he ever hoped for.

Theo really in the sweetest, as her best friend, he knows her so well. He's always been there for her, being a schoulder for her to cry on. He literally has been her rock, making sure she knows how loved, incredible she is. How she's worth so much more than what her dark thoughts tell her.

Ohh and his mouth, his words, the dirty talk...... OOOhwaa he really knows how to help a girl out. His moves, that was one of my favorite things to read about. Him showing her his moves.

🌹My Turn Petal by Kay Jensen 🌹
I adored Theo and Frankie. They have such a good friendship from the very beginning. I love that there is love and respect there from the start between the two. Frankie is a very strong woman! I admire the crap out of this character and I found myself really rooting for her. She deserved to get everything she wanted ❤️ Theo is the guy that you want in real life! He has yummy kinks but he isn't dangerous.. not really 😏😁 and he is so patient and just wants what's best for our girl Frankie.. who wouldn't fall for that man? all in all I really enjoyed this one too. Kay Jensen really does have a great series on her hands and I can't wait to see what else she has in store!! I have been here since the first book Mine for 24 hella hours, which was exceptional 🥰 and I plan to be here for the rest.

My Turn Petal is the 3rd book in Kay’s Inked Me series. In this story the FMC (Frankie) is the sought after tattoo artist and the MMC (Theo) is her neighbor turned client. The hot math teacher, and curvy inked up tattoo artist come together (pun intended) to help release her from a condition that has plagued her for as long as she can remember.

It is fast paced, spicy, and deals with a lot of internal struggle and healing. It was nice to see a story mentioning mental health and how it can affect all aspects of life. I did feel like Frankie dominated this story and it would be nice to hear more about Theo.

My turn petal was a short and very spicy novella.

Frankie is a heroine that has a lot of struggles because of her condition, but she still wants to finally have a happy life and a proper man next to her.

Theo is the man that comes to her rescue. He is handsome and patient and with a very dirty mouth 🥵. But he also wants to be next to her and help her overcome her condition, and he doesn't give up.

The spice in the book was off the charts 🥵. The scenes were hot, smutty and full of kink and I loved it 🌶️🌶️🌶️.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Frankie and Theo's book.

First of all, how do I find a Theo? And can I find one now? 🥵 Holy crap that was fantastic! This is book three in the series and definitely reads a little different than the first two, but in a really wonderful way. 😍 I loved the dynamic between Frankie and Theo right away. Watching their friendship/relationship through their current situation and the flashbacks, it was hard not to fall in love with both of them. This story was unique and had me hooked from the start. This may be my favorite of the series so far. 🤔😘

Book 3 of this series and it wasn’t what I expected to be. First thank you for letting us know about vaginismus 😳. This condition must be hard to deal with and I think the author did a great job writing about it. There was a lot of spicy moments but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. I liked how Theo was with Frankie, so patient with her and willing to do anything to please and help her.
I finished it but, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the last ones.
Thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you are looking for something that is quick this is great. Their chemistry is so wonderful. The connection they have when they are young not eben knowing is just a sprinkle of extra love in there. How the author addresses this particular medical situation could truly give someone the hope or inspiration that a reader might need to feel not so alone. I love what is written at the end of the book however I can't give that away. Here's this...

Theo and Frankie

Theo is so sweet and patient with Frankie. Their relationship started as a friendship as neighbors until they decided to have a two week agreement to test the waters and that turned into forever. Frankie doesn't think she deserves love or a relationship, but Theo proves her wrong. The way he worships her inside and outside the bedroom is absolutely amazing. He is a beast in the bedroom and they both want the same things in there. They are just perfect together. I loved seeing them get their HEA!!

I signed up to review this book prior to its release date, and was super excited to read it. Outside of one or two spelling errors, and "chestnut colored hair" being used to describe 2 different people's hair colors, this was a really good book! The plot is interesting and twisted, and I loved the double endings provided. The details and plot are written out so well and I truly loved the book! I have been recommending it to all of my friends

If you enjoyed Haunting Adeline, you will LOVE this book!
